Objectives: This research was conducted to suggest a recommendation for the Korean credentialing policy of health education specialist as the primary human resource in community health promotion activities from the special group perspective of the Korean Society for Health Education and Promotion. Methods: This research was conducted by the professional focus group discussion and descriptive literature review on health education and promotion. Results: This draft recommendation for Korean credentialing system development of health education specialist was based on the four background reasons for modifying health promotion related acts, for developing better policy of health education credentialing, for keeping the public and ethical responsibilities as the competitive professional society, and for improving health promotion activities in Korea. Theoretical background of the four reasons was Ottawa Charter. We classified three credentialing levels of health education specialist based on health education own competencies, coordiating competencies with environmental factors, and research competencies. Furthermore, we developed 10 major roles and categorized 53 sub-roles based on these competencies above. We recommended 10 classes required to take to become Health Education Specialist. These 10 classes were developed based on the credentialing systems in the United States and Japan. These 10 classes were about health education and promotion methods and strategies not health intervention topics. We also built the draft plan for continuing education to keep KCHES based on the NCHEC in the United States. Conclusions: Further research should be conducted to build better health education specialist credentialing systems modifing current communtiy-based health promotion activities in terms of modifying public regulation, developing KCHEC examination system, protecting job security both in public and private sectors, and creating professionalism in KCHEC.

In wireless communication system, a variety of retransmission algorithms are used in order to improve the quality of service of users. But the system may be inefficient because retransmission algorithms operate independently with other layers. Also, the quality of service can be degraded due to the unnecessary retransmission of packets. To solve these problems, the study on the cross-layer retransmission schemes have been widely performed. However, in order to apply cross-layer retransmission schemes to wireless communication system, whether the performance of cross-layer retransmission schemes meets QoS requirements of each service class has to be verified. Thus, this paper proposes the mathematical model for analyzing the performance of the cross-layer retransmission schemes and derives both the suitable retransmission scheme and the optimal retransmission parameter on each service class. The proposed mathematical model selects the MCS level based on channel state information and The performance analysis is comparatively easy in case that HARQ, ARQ, and AMC schemes are combined. The proposed mathematical model also enables the analysis of the packet transmission delay. To utilize the analytical model, this paper derives the suitable retransmission scheme and the optimal retransmission parameter for delay sensitive services in WiMAX system. Also, the proposed analytical model can be used to analyze the performance of wireless communication system such as LTE and WLAN.

Objective: The majority of embryo transfers (ETs) to date have been performed on day 3 to reduce the potential risk of developmental arrest of in vitro cultured embryos before ET. Development of sequential media has significantly improved culture conditions and allowed blastocyst transfer on day 5. While day 5 ET provides higher clinical pregnancy outcomes with reduced risks of multiple pregnancies, it still has potential risks of developmental arrest of IVF embryos. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of day 4 ETs and compare the efficacy of day 4 ET with day 5 ET. Methods: From 2006 to 2009, a total of 747 fresh IVF-ET cycles were retrospectively analyzed (day 4, n=440 or and day 5, n=307). The cycles with any genetic factors were excluded. The rates of matured oocytes, fertilization, good embryos, and clinical pregnancy of the two groups were compared. The chi-square test and t-test were used for statistical analysis. Results: There were no significant differences between the two groups with respect to the mean age of the females and rates of matured oocytes. The pregnancy outcomes of day 4 ET (40.7%) were similar to those of day 5 ET (44.6%). The implantation rate of day 5 ET (24.2%) was significantly higher than that of day 4 ET (18.4%) (p=0.003). Conclusion: Day 4 ET can be chosen to avoid ET cancellation in day 5 ET resulting from suboptimal circumstances in the IVF laboratory, but the decremented quality of embryos for transfer and the decreased pregnancy rate must be taken into consideration.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of maternal age on fertilization, embryo quality, and clinical pregnancy in patients undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) using testicular sperm from partners with azoospermia. Methods: A total of 416 ICSI cycles using testicular spermatozoa from partners with obstructive azoospermia (OA, n = 301) and non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA, n = 115) were analyzed. Female patients were divided into the following age groups: 27 to 31 years, 32 to 36 years, and 37 to 41 years. The rates of fertilization, high-quality embryos, clinical pregnancy, and delivery were compared across maternal age groups between the OA and NOA groups. Results: The rates of fertilization and high-quality embryos were not significantly different among the maternal age groups. Similarly, the clinical pregnancy and delivery rates were not significantly different. The fertilization rate was significantly higher in the OA group than in the NOA group (p< 0.05). Age-group analysis revealed that the fertilization and high-quality embryo rates were significantly different between the OA and NOA groups in patients aged 27 to 31 years old, but not for the other age groups. Although the clinical pregnancy and delivery rates differed between the OA and NOA groups across all age groups, significant differences were not observed. Conclusion: In couples using testicular sperm from male partners with azoospermia, pregnancy and delivery outcomes were not affected by maternal age. However, women older than 37 years using testicular sperm from partners with azoospermia should be advised of the increased incidence of pregnancy failure.

The Seakeeping committee of Korea Towing Tank Conference executed the cooperative experimental study on deck wetting phenomena using S-175 contatiner model ships. Two members, Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering(KRISO) and Hyundai Maritime Research Institute(HMRI) participated in the study. This study was initiated by the ITTC(International Towing Tank Conference) Seakeeping Committee as the cooperative study of the 19th ITTC aiming at the establishement of the model test procedure on the deck wetting phenomena. Special emphasis was made on the determination of reliable record length for experimental measurement on rarely occurring events(such as deck wetness, slamming etc). Comparisons were made on both the test results and the test procedrues in this research. The measured frequencies of deck wetting show remarkable deviations between the runs. This fart implies that sufficiently long record length is required in the deck wetness measurement compared to the conventional ship motion tests. Careful considerations were made on the physical interpretation of the deck wetting phenomena, the correlation between the measured relative motion at stemhead and the measured deck wetness, and the estimation of deck wetting frequencies by Poisson process.

This study utilized nano-liposomes for the purpose of stabilizing and increasing the solubility of biotin, a water-soluble active material with low solubility. The particle size, zeta potential, and polydispersity index were confirmed with a nano zetasizer. It was possible to manufacture nano liposomes at 100 to 250 nm of particle size and -80 to -30 mV of zeta potential. Dialysis membrane method (DMM) was used to measure the capsulation efficiency of biotin in biotin nano-liposomes, and results showed that pH increased biotin nano-liposomes had higher capsulation efficiency than normal biotin nano-liposome. Through this experiment, it was confirmed that the pH has a great influence on the stability of biotin nano-liposomes. In vitro franz diffusion cell method was used to measure in vitro skin absorption rate of biotin nano-liposomes. The shape of the formulation and biotin solubility in nano-liposome was observed by cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM). Through this study, we confirmed that biotin, which is introduced as closely related to hair health, can be incorporated into a nano-liposome drug delivery system, to make biotin nano-liposome with improved solubility and precipitation problems.
Ginseng cotyledon calli were cultured on 1/2MS media supplemented with combination of various growth regulators to induce more embryoids and plantlets in a short period. And tissues of ginseng root and calli were also incubated under various factors or conditions to establish methods for the isolation of viable protoplasts in Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer. The calli derived from cotyledon produced numerous embryoids in 1/2MS media containing 0.5mg/$\ell$ 2,4-D and 0.5mg/$\ell$ kinetin after 2 months' culture. But only shoot formation was less frequent. Further development of these embryoids occurred on 1/2MS medium supplemented with the same concentration of BA and GA. Viable protoplasts were isolated from the root tissue and callus of ginseng. The specific conditions for the isolation of viable protoplasts were required of ginseng materials, root tissue and callus, being processed. For the production of viable protoplasts from 1-year old ginseng root tissue, an enzyme mixture of $2\%$ cellulase 'Ono-zuka' and $0.5\%$ macerozyme, an enzyme solution pH of 5.2 to 5.8, a 7- to 8- hour incubation period at $28{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, and 0.9M mannitol as osmoticum in the cell enzyme mixture were optimum, while the treatments with an enzyme mixture of $2\%$ cellulase 'Onozuka', $2\%$ macerozyme and $1\%$ driselase, and 25-hour incubation period at $28{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, were more efficient for the production of viable protoplasts from ginseng callus.

Ginseng(Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) is important medicinal plant but requires 4-year cultivation for root harvest because of slow growth. In contrast, ginseng callus and hairy roots grow vigorously and may Produce the same or more biologically active compounds for human health than natural ginseng roots. Therefore, ginseng callus and hairy roots can be used for commercial purposes. Polyacetylene, one of anti-cancer compounds in ginseng, was not detected in the callus cultured on the medium containing 2, 4-B, but cells derived from the callus growth was excellent, The ginseng calli cultured on the medium containing 2mg11 CPA and 0.05mg/1 BA was grown vigorously and produced panaxydol, one of ginseng polyacetylene. The biosynthesis of polyacetylene in callus was not affected by addition of NAA and sucrose in media. The SH medium was better than the MS medium for ginseng callus growth and biosynthesis of panaxydol. Another ginseng anti-cancer compounds, ginsenoside-Rg$_3$, Rh$_1$and Rh$_2$ were detected in ginseng hairy roots by heat treatment. Those of Panax ginseng were obtained after root disks of three-year old roots were infected with Agrobacterium rhizogenes Rl000 $A_4$T in dark condition after one month of culture. The optimum growth of hairy roots was achieved in the culture of 1/2 MS liquid medium in dark(22$^{\circ}C$) under 60 rpm gyratory shaking. Hairy roots grew well in 5 ι Erlenmeyer flasks, 1ι roller drums, 10ι jar-fermenters, and especially in 20ι air-lift .culture vessels. All heat treatments had remarkably different ginsenoside contents. Eleven ginsenosides were determined in heat treatment, eight in freeze dried hairy roots. Contents of ginsenoside-Rbl , Rb2, Rc, Rd. Re, Rf, and Rg$_1$tested in all heat treatments were less than those of freeze dried hairy roots. Contents of glnsenoside-Rg$_2$ in heat treatment for 1 hour at 105$^{\circ}C$ was 4.92mg/g dry wt, 3.9 times higher than 1.27 mg/g dry wt of freeze dried hairy roots. The optimum condition of heat treatment for the production of ginsenoside-Rg$_3$and Rhl was 2 hours at 105$^{\circ}C$, and ginsenoside content was 2.58mg/g dry wt and 3.62mg/g dry wt, respectively. The production of ginsenoside-Rh2 was the highest in heat treatment for 2 hours at 105$^{\circ}C$ among treatments examined, and ginsenoside-Rh$_2$content was 1.08mg/g dry wt.

It has been reported that pipernonaline isolated from Piper longum Linn. has a wide biochemical and pharmacological effect, including antitumor activity in prostate cancer PC-3 cells. However, its mechanism and expression pattern of many genes involved in biological functions are not clearly understood. To perform the gene expression study in PC-3 cells treated with pipernonaline, a cDNA microarray chip composed of 44,000 human cDNA probes was used. As a result, cell cycle-related genes, apoptosis-related genes, and cell proliferation/growth-related genes have been identified in gene ontology of the DAVID database. These results suggest that pipernonaline has antitumor activity by regulating the expression pattern of genes involved in biological signaling pathway in prostate cancer PC-3 cells. Further, additional analysis of these microarray data can be a useful tool to identify the mechanism and discovery of novel genes in cancer therapy.
In order to compare physicochemical properties of aqueous extract in 3 beans (small red bean, mung bean, black soybean), proximate composition, free sugars, free amino acids, minerals, absorbance and surface refractance color were investigated. Regardless of raw materials composition, the 3 beans extracts had similar proximate compositions. Free sugar analysis showed that fructose, glucose, sucrose, maltose, raffinose and stachyose were varied among the extracts. Raffinose and stachyose were the major sugar and fructose was measured only in black soybean and glucose was merely found in small red bean. Seventeen free amino acids in beans extract were analysed in the extracts. Among the free amino acids, arginine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and serine were the main amino acids. Black soybean extract had maximum absorbance at 460 nm and 540 nm. L value of black soybean extract was lower than those of small red bean and mung bean.
