  • The study area is mainly composed of metasedimentary rocks which are included in Ogchon, Choson and Pyongan Groups. Because of thrust faults which are developed in this area, a coal bearing formation is repeatedly distributed two times, and Choson Group is thrusted over Pyongan Group. Deformation in this area was taken place in a series of three phases ($D_1$, $D_2$ and $D_3$) ; $D_1$ was most intense whereas $D_3$ was weakest. Thrust faults developed in the upper curst duringD2 produced cataclastic rocks and fault breccia, truncating regional slaty cleavage and earlier folds which were formed during $D_1$ stage. The quartz microstructures of metapsammitic rocks in Choson and Pyongan Groups suggest that dislocation creep mechanism predominated early in fabric development, afterwards deformation mechanism was transfered to pressure solution which intensified the earlier fabrics. According to strain analysis using quartz grains and quartz aggregate grains, the strain magnitude(Es) of Pyongan Group represents larger values than that of Choson Group due to the contrast of constituent minerals, the size of original quartz grains and matrix content. Apparent flattening type in strain pattern appears in the whole area. It is suggested that the relationship between Ogchon Group and Choson Group may be thrust contact.

  • Confucianism, the dominating thought in the Choson Dynasty, considered the congruence of scholar and bureaucrat as principle of royal politics, so it was the important affairs to educate and select scholars who excelled in Confucian science and its historical view. The seems to have been the demarcation between the dress and its ornaments worn by the candidate and the successful candidate. According to the inquiry of the literatures and figures, the candidate is thought to have worn yuguhn(儒巾) or bokkuhn(幅巾) with chongsam(靑衫), nansam( 衫), jikryung(直領) and the successful candidate is thought to have worn bokduh( 頭) with easahwa(御史花), aengsam(鶯衫), danryung(團領) in the Choson Dynasty.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the gender division of housework in the Choson period. The gender division in the Choson period has been considered as discriminative because women had to remain indoors and were excluded in social works. But in fact the Confucian idea, which regulated the relation between women and men, emphasized the gender difference and not gender discrimination. Actually it can be seen in genre painting of Choson period that women and men worked complimentarily indoors. So this article intends to explore the possibilities of the new analysis of the traditional gender division of housework by reviewing the paintings. As the results indicate, men in the Choson period were involved in some housework, in contrast to the common idea that they maintained their authority by not participating housework. There is also some evidence that gender division benefited women to protect their own productive territory or to satisfy their needs. So it is suggested that gender division in the Choson period should be considered as a source of power as well as a disadvantage to women. Forth, the employed mens' reemployment decision was affected from their household income, expected income after retirement, pension ownership, and attitude toward retirement. From the findings, it can be concluded that the employed mens' age, economic status, and attitude toward retirement played a important role in the process of retirement and reemployment decision making.

  • The research follows several steps. First, the chinese 'WangSung' and 'KungSi' System are verified positively. Next, the structure of palace in Choson Dynasty is deduced based on those chinese systems. Finally, the common system that is also applied in other government-operated spaces is found. The result can be summarized as follows. It is clarified from reviewing the chinese 'WangSung' and 'KungSil' Systems that the 'OyoiCho' is located in 'WhangSung(the imperial city) but out of' KungSung(the palace). Therefore, the research points out that all sort of theories explaining the 'OyoiCho' of Choson Dynasty is a space of 'in-place' are false. The palace system of Choson dynasty seeks the substantiality grounded on the substantial function of 'SamCho(three spaces)' rather than its strict principle dividing main spaces by several doors-'KungMoon' Moreover, it is also certified that the 'ChonChoHooChim' system, literally the political court is located at the front and the private section is at the other(back) side, is directly applied on the palace of Choson Dynasty. This idea has been developed into 'inner and outer' concept and repressed in palace as the 'OyoiChon(outer palace) and NaeChon(inner palace)' concept. conclusion, the research suggests that the dual concept in space such as 'ChonHoo(front and back) and 'NaeOyoi(inner and outer)' basically comes from 'Eum Yang' theory and influences in building other government-operated spaces: for example 'ChongMyo(the royal ancestors shrine)', 'SoWon(a private school of Choson dynasty), 'HyangKyo(a local school annexed to the Confucian shrine)' and 'KwanAh(a governmet agency)'

  • The historical value of the official documents of the Government General of Choson preserved as permanent archived documents has long been recognized. However, the fact that only parts of the overall documents were preserved and that the contents of the existing documents is not uniform, results in many problems regarding the evaluation and usage of such documents as archives. This study attempts to appraise a series of archival documents related to urban district planning compiled during the colonial era. Although limited in terms of its applicability to the development of an evaluation method for the official documents of the Government General of Choson as a whole, by evaluating the value of these documents based on the background of the documents produced during the Government General of Choson's implementation of its colonial policy, this study provides an important indicator of how such documents should be used in the future. On the other hand, the assessment of historical records such as the official documents of the Government General of Choson which have already been designated and preserved as permanent archived documents should not be perceived as an attempt to dispose of the relevant documents. With regard to the appraisal of historical archives, it is necessary to consider measures to link such documents with existing databases or information contents in order to heighten access to and usage of the relevant documents in the future.

In spite of is fame, a systematic research for Qingwujing was not yet fulfilled up to now in Korea. In is the main reason why have to research the philological character of Qingwujing. The results from this research were described as following. Qingwujing(靑烏經) as knows of Qingwujing's writer is very famous already in Han 한(漢) dynasty for his accurate FengShui methods. His FengShui thories getting more powerfyl from WeiChen(魏晉) to Tang(唐) dynasty. In Tang(唐) dynasty Qingwujing was abolished by government rulers, but it recovered and retouched by some scholars from Tang(唐) and Song(宋) dynasty. In the process, the block book of Qingwujing were changed for four or five kinds. Qingwujing's block books of Ming(明) dynasty are Yimenguangdu(夷門廣牘), Xiaoshisanjing(小十三經), Jujiabibei(居家必備), and Shuofu(說郛). It's block books of Qing(淸) dynasty are Gujintushujicheng(古今圖書集成), Sikuquanshu(四庫全書), Xuejintaoyuan(學津討原), and Ershierziquanji(二十二子全集). It's block book of Choson(朝鮮) dynasty is KyujangKak(奎章閣). Among them distinctive characters been founded, but the basic contents and theories are almost same. In Korea, Qingwuzi's FengShui theories were confirmed in Silla(新羅) dynasty, and it recoreded in Soongboksa inscription written by Choi-CheeWon. Qingwu(靑烏) or Qingwuzi were known for a great FengShui master of a FengShui standing theories in Koryeo(高麗) and Choson dynasty among royal families and the aristocratic classes.
