A company's plan to reform its products' image cannot obtain expected results unless a color plan is included in the reformation plan. A color plan is essential since color conveys to customers much information on function, shape, and material quality of the product. In other words, color is the essential dimension or criteria that customers use when evaluating the quality of goods. Despite the importance of a color plan, companies in Korea are still behind in researching and receiving 'color information' compared to those in more advanced countries. Recognizing the importance of products color, many international companies constantly make their efforts to predict trendy colors and preferred styles of customers before they develop products. It is suggested that domestic companies invest more in color infrastructure to be more successful in making products which can catch the customers' eyes and emotion. Different life styles by age, income level, and gender would be only a few of many factors to be investigated to build color plans for a product. In this study, it is attempted to see the color tendency of young generation by gender, and also to analyze empirically the influence of product's color on its image and customers' behavior. The results are analyzed with frequency analysis, cross tabulation analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA using SPSS Win 12. The results of this study show that color preference, product image and product attitude are influenced by product's color, and color is an important factor for forming additional emotional value together with the product's original functional value. Judging from the findings, it is recommended that a company undertake careful research before developing a product to find out how customers respond differently to products in different colors especially when the product belongs to the product category where color is considered to be a determinant factor in terms of choosing a brand.

By comparing to Chinese American banks, this research shows the uniqueness of Korean American banks. This article argues that instead of the cultural attributes and/or informal financial institutions, formal financial institutions, such as the ethnic banks studied here, are responsible for the business success of Asians abroad. However, ethnic banks have different development trajectories depending on their respective ethnic communities. Korean American banks are notably different from Chinese American banks in terms of growth, profitability, and banking strategies. Although both ethnic banks exercise relationship banking strategies in their loan portfolios, their deposit compositions are very different and cause significant differences in financial performance. The focus on business loans and high rates of non-interest deposits allow for higher growth rates in Korean American banks. Therefore, relationship banking does not adequately explain the differences of ethnic banks. This research attempts to understand the underlying factors in choosing banking strategies by mainly focusing on the unique examples found in Korean and Chinese immigrant societies. For Chinese Americans, the heterogeneity of their population composition and foreign influence dominate their bank structures. On the other hand, Korean American homogeneity and business orientation are distinctly different. The influence of Korean capital is not significant when compared to overseas Chinese capital.
Consumers evaluate stores by comparing stores that we, in their minds, similar and are competitive with one another; and in this way, the term "consideration set of stores" is defined as those store alternatives the consumer is aware of and evaluates positively. The purpose of this study is to aid in understanding the consideration set of stores in store choice processes in apparel product purchases. More specifically, this study aims to clarify the relation between consideration set of stores and importance of store image. As a result, the respondents of quantitative study were classified into seven groups by the number of stores and store types they considered: 1) "small-road shop sets group" ; 2) "small-market sets group" ; 3) "small- department store sets group" ; 4) "small-department store/outlet sets group" ; 5) "large-department store/market sets group" ; 6) "large-department store/road shop sets group" ; and 7) "large-department store sets group". Further, significant differences among the groups in the importance of store image were observed. For example, low prices were an important factor in both the small-market considering group and large-department store/market considering group when choosing a retail store, there were also differences in the considering groups in that for the small-department store considering group, store mileage-discount cards were important whereas ample space for relaxation around the stores were important retail store selection factors for the large-department store/road shop considering group. This study may provide a useful direction to retailers in finding out who the target customers and competitive stores are and allow retailers to make proper marketing strategies.

The purposes of this study are to show in interpersonal relations what factors male students are stressed from, how they experience stress, how they cope With it in each situation, and what this results in It attempt to gam basic materials to promote male student health and positive coping methods, The subject of this study was 15 male students of C University located in Seoul and Kyeonggui-Do They were composed of 5 sophomores, 5 Juniors and 5 seniors The period for collecting materials was October 1997 to January 1998, and the interview time ranged from 50 minutes to two hours The interview frequency was one to three times as occasion demanded, The materials were analyzed by the methods and theory suggested by Strauss & Corbin (1990) The results were 130 categories grouped into 33 divisions by similarity Finally, they were united into 9 higher categories In interpersonal relations the core category of male student stress is "affliction", and it follows the course of generation-coping-resolution The types showed in the course of material analysis are as follows, (1) When the subject student is on good terms with the other and the stress is repeated- "affliction" is strong and continuous-and his ability sense is strong, he copes with "affliction" With his own will and solves It affirmatively, (2) When the subject student is on good terms with the other and the stress is repeated-so "affliction" is strong and continuous-and his ability sense is weak, he copes with "affliction" with an emotional bias and solves it negatively (3) When the subject student is on good terms with the other and the stress is temporary-"affliction" is strong and temporary-and his ability sense is strong, he copes with "affliction" with his own will and solves it affirmatively (4) When the subject student becomes estranged from the other and the stress is temporary-"affliction" is weak and temporary-and his ability sense is weak, he copes with "affliction" with an emotional bias and solves it negatively, (5) When the subject student becomes estranged from the other and the stress is repeated-"affliction" is strong-and continuous and his ability sense is strong, he copes with "affliction" with his own will and solves it affirmatively (6) When the subject student becomes estranged from the other and the stress is repeated-"affliction" is strong and continuous-and his ability sense is weak, he copes with "affliction" with an emotional bias and solves it negatively. Objective: The purpose of this study is to find the level of physical relaxation of individual subject by monitoring psychophysiological biofeedback to different types of mattresses. And, the study also aims to find a protocol to make a selection of the best mattress based on the measured information. Background: In Korea, there are an increasing number of people using western style bed. However, they are often fastidious in choosing the right mattress for them. In fact, people use their past experience with their old mattress as well as the spontaneous experience they encounter in a show room to finally decide to buy a bed. Method: Total five mattresses were tested in this study. After measuring the elasticity of the mattresses, they were sorted into five different classes. Physiological and psychological variables including Electromyography (EMG), heart rates (HR), oxygen saturations (SaO2) were used. In addition, the peak body pressure concentration rate was used to find uncomfortably pressured body part. Finally, the personal factors and subjective satisfaction were also examined. A protocol was made to select the best mattress for individual subject. The selection rule for the protocol considered all the variables tested in this study. Results: The result revealing psychological comfort range of 0.68 to 0.95, dermal comfort range of 3.15 to 6.07, back muscle relaxation range of 0.25 to 1.64 and personal habit range of 2.0 to 3.4 was drawn in this study. Also a regression model was developed to predict biofeedback with the minimal use of biofeedback devices. Moreover results from the proposed protocol with the regression equation and subjective satisfaction were compared with each other for validation. Ten out of twenty subjects recorded the same level of relaxation, and eight subjects showed one-level difference while two subjects showed two-levels difference. Conclusion: The psychophysiological variables and suitability selection process used in this study seem to be used for selecting and assessing ergonomic products mechanically or emotionally. Application: This regression model can be applied to the mattress industry to estimate back muscle relaxation using dermal, psychophysiology and personal habit values.
Purpose: Perforated gastric cancer (PGC) is rare and occurs in $1\∼4\%$ of all gastric cancers. Possible dissemination of tumor cells at the time of perforation of the gastric carcinoma has been a matter of concern. The intraoperative determination of what kind of operation should be done and how extensive the lymphnode dissection should be still remains controversial. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the factors influencing the survival and to determine the optimal treatment for PGC. Materials and Methods: A total of 42 patients were operated on for a perforated gastric carcinoma at Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hospital from 1983 to 2000. the age and the sexes of the patients, the location of perforation, the diameter of perforation, the histologic type of the tumor, the depth of wall invasion, the absence or presence of lymph node metastasis / distant metastasis, the stage of disease, the type of operation, and the outcomes were examined. Statistically significant differences were analyzed by using Fisher's exact test. Results: The stage distributions according to the UICC classification were 1 case of stage I, 6 cases of stage II, 17 cases of stage III, and 11 cases of stage IV. An emergency gastrectomy was done in 26 patients ($61.9\%$), with a 5-yr survival rate of $44\%$. The survival of patients was significantly influenced by the depth of wall invasion, the lymphnode metastasis, distant metastasis, the stage of disease, and the type of operation. Conclusions: an emergency gastrectomy is the treatment of choice for most patients with resectable PGC. Choosing more a optimistic surgical approach for potentially curative cases of PGC should be one way to increase the patient's survival rate.

This study was conducted on 2016 $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ grade middle school students in order to investigate of their perceptions and needs on sewing practice class, which had been experienced during their $6^{th}$ grade elementary school year. Implications and improvement for sewing practice class to be drawn from this study. The findings are as follows: Firstly, the levels of satisfaction with the practice contents and teaching learning method were higher than the median value(3.00). Among the subareas of class evaluation, participation scored the highest average, followed by interest, difficulty, necessity, importance, and utilization. In the entire subareas, girl students have more positive perceptions on sewing practice classes than boy students. Secondly, satisfaction with the practice contents has an effect on all subareas of class evaluation. The satisfaction with the teaching learning method has an effect on participation, interest, importance and utilization. Lastly, as for the practice contents, they would prefer household items and ornament, and want to choose sizes freely. As for students' needs for a new teaching learning method through which students are allowed to freely make objects or create works through a group activity, it was higher than the median value. This study showed that practice contents and teaching learning method are important factors that affect class evaluation. This study suggested that sewing practice class should be conducted freely choosing of practice contents, making the group works, group or student-led activities. If sewing practice class is designed in consideration of the results and students' needs for class, students' perceptions on class is expected to change in a positive way.
Road design guideline provides the directions on how to design a road alignment based on design speed, and this guideline has a design expectation in that design speed is supposed to be equal to the operating speed of drivers. Horizontal curve design is also based on design speed, and minimum radius is derived based on the drivers comfort while negotiating the curve. However, side friction reflecting drivers comfort is lower than a physical friction measured on wet road surface, therefore, it is reasonable to regard the criterion on minimum radius has a safety margin. Futhermore, the practical preference of choosing the larger radius than minimum leads to a noticeable gap between design speed and operating speed, so links to the violation of design expectation implicated in the guideline. In order to review this assumption, friction and operating speed at rural roads was measured and observed. As the results, a safety margin brought out by the gap between comfort-based friction and measured friction is qualitatively derived. Also, the gap between design speed and operating speed presumably caused by the safety margin and practical preference is analysed. By this, it is suggested that current design guideline should provides not only the minimum radius but also the management of road alignment design to minimize the gap between the design speed and operating speed.
This paper investigates what kind of technological partner firms want to cooperate with in terms of partner location. Two geographical factors are considered. One is geographical proximity, given the tradeoff between the effectiveness of knowledge spillovers in proximity and diverse knowledge absorption from geographically distant partners. The other is how many other firms are co-located with potential partners because it is known that clustering regions can create more technological outputs. Analysis on 2008 Korea Innovation Survey data finds that partner proximity is the single most important factor in choosing a cooperation partner. While firms that are located in a region crowded with related industries prefer proximate partners, others that are surrounded by unrelated industries are more likely to cooperate with distant partners. The findings suggest that geographical proximity matters in partner selection because it not only stimulates knowledge spillovers but also reduces costs involving R&D cooperation such as monitoring costs and information costs. Moreover, firms take into consideration both the benefits and risks of clustering regions. If there are so many unrelated firms that they create agglomeration diseconomies such as congestion costs and unintentional knowledge leakages, firms are more likely to try to find their cooperation partners in other regions.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between scientific content knowledge of science-gifted elementary students and their expression of scientific creativity, and the characteristics of divided groups according to the levels of their scientific content knowledge and scientific creativity. A science-gifted program was implemented to 33 forth-graders in the Science-Gifted Education Center of an education office in Seoul, Korea. The method of evaluating scientific knowledge was divided into well-structured paper-pencil test (asking specific and limited range of content knowledge of plants) and ill-structured descriptive test (stating all the knowledge they know about plants) to find out which methods were more related to scientific creativity. In addition, in order to find out the characteristics of each group according to the level of scientific content knowledge and scientific creativity, students were required to answer a questionnaire about their own self-perception of scientific knowledge and scientific creativity and how to obtain scientific knowledge. The main results of this study are as follows. First, Both well-structured paper-pencil test (r=.38) and ill-structured descriptive test (r=.51) results of elementary science gifted students were significantly correlated with scientific creativity. Second, As a result of the regression analysis on scientific creativity of science-gifted elementary students, both the knowledge measured by the two evaluation methods have the ability to explain scientific creativity. Third, the students were categorized into four groups according to the levels of their scientific content knowledge and their expression of scientific creativity, and the result showed that the higher the knowledge of science, the higher the scientific creativity. Fourth, the description about self-perception of scientific knowledge revealed that the highest percentage of Type LL students of all 13 students (53.8%, 7 students) answered 'I have little knowledge of plants because I have little interest in them.' Fifth, the description about self-perception of scientific knowledge revealed that the highest percentage of Type HH students of all 15 students (40%, 6 students) answered 'I think my science creativity is high through my experience of scientific creativity. Sixth, the responses to the Questionnaire revealed that 'reading' was the most popular way to obtain scientific knowledge, with 27 out of total 33 students choosing it. In particular, all 18 students from Type HH (high scientific knowledge and high scientific creativity) and Type HL (high scientific knowledge and low scientific creativity) - those with high scientific knowledge - gave that response. On the basis of this research, we should explore practical teaching methods and environment for gifted students to improve their scientific creativity by revealing the nature of the factors that affect scientific creativity and analyzing relationship between knowledge and scientific creativity.
