It is well known that the area U of the triangle formed by three tangents to a parabola X is half of the area T of the triangle formed by joining their points of contact. Recently, it was proved that this property is a characteristic one of parabolas. That is, among strictly locally convex $C^{(3)}$ curves in the plane $\mathbb{R}^2$ parabolas are the only ones satisfying the above area property. In this article, we study strictly locally convex curves in the plane $\mathbb{R}^2$. As a result, generalizing the above mentioned characterization theorem for parabolas we present some conditions which are necessary and sufficient for a strictly locally convex $C^{(3)}$ curve in the plane to be an open part of a parabola.

It is possible to examine the costume of Chosun era that tombs excavated in chonnam area, have contained various kinds of clothes. There are six tombs in which costumes have been excavated in Chonnam provinces. One(Go un) is tomb of the early years of Chosun Dynasty and the other tombs is those of the middle years of Chosun Dynasty(16∼17 century). There were many kinds of Po which was called Jickryung, Danryung, Chullik, Dappo, Jangui, So-changui etc, and contained chechori, skirts, under-trousers in tombs. But there are not see Kuui, Dopo that excavated in other area. Chullik showed the features of winkle, sleeves and the ratio of length. Dappo was only to be seen in a Go uns grave. Mens chechori collar(kit) was called Mokpankit in all, and womans chechori collar was called Kalkit or Tangkokit. The length of chechori was different according to the times. Most trousers are types of underwear and also there are Sapok tousers, open trousers. The characterstics of excavated costumes are not regional feature but trend of the times. The costumes excavated in Chonnam area are similiar to those excavated in other area at the same times.

This study measured and analyzed clothing pressure at each measurement part of commercial body shapers to provide basic information for product design and clothing pressure standard and level. This study used five body shaper. Clothing pressure measurements were taken at 18points: Anterior area 8points, lateral area 5points, posterior area 5points. The findings of this study were as follows. As a result of measuring the clothing pressure, the body shaper 1 showed the highest pressure, and body shaper 5 showed the lowest pressure at almost of the measurement points of the three body types. In some cases, body shapers 2, 3, and 4 showed different orders of pressure depending on the measurement point. The highest measured values in most body shapers were the P1 shoulder area and the P2 bust area. The lowest measurement area differed by body type, but mainly P3 underbust area, P4 thorax area and P9 axillary area, P11 waist lateral area, P13 hip lateral area. These body shapers showed different results depending on the the manufacturers and body type of middle-aged women, and because there was no standard for the pressure value. Therefore, it is necessary to design a body shaper sizing system after accurately setting the clothing pressure value for each body part of the consumer.

Morphometrical analysis of chicken Cryptosporidium baileyi in various stages of life cycle in the bursa of Fabricius were carried out by electron microscope to establish a differential point for identification of C baileyi. By avidin-biotin complex method, protozoans of the bursa of Fabricius were identified Cryptosporidium spp. The size and area on each developmental stages of C baileyi, as measured by Morphomat 10 attached to electron microscope were as follows. Trophozoites' size with range of $3.21{\pm}0.70{\times}2.49{\pm}0.59{\mu}m$, area with range of $118.82{\pm}41.92{\mu}m^2$; meronts' size $3.99{\pm}1.07{\times}2.96{\pm}0.52{\mu}m$, area $210.11{\pm}57.11{\mu}m^2$; merozoites' size $1.98{\pm}0.43{\times}0.60{\pm}0.18{\mu}m$, area $24.10{\pm}5.97{\mu}m^2$; microgametes' size $1.36{\pm}0.83{\times}0.50{\pm}0.23{\mu}m$, area $20.23{\pm}6.73{\mu}m^2$; macrogametes' size $4.57{\pm}0.65{\times}4.02{\pm}0.55{\mu}m$, area $258.37{\pm}51.83{\mu}m^2$; oocytes' size $4.39{\pm}0.56{\times}3.44{\pm}0.50{\mu}m$, area $187.21{\pm}62.68{\mu}m^2$. In conclusion, the size and area on each developmental stages of Cryptosporidium baileyi is different from that of other Gryptosporidia spp. It suggests, with considering tissue tropism and life cycle, morphometrical analysis can be quite a good way to identify C baileyi.

In this article, we study some properties of U and T for strictly convex plane curves. As a result, we establish a characterization for parabolas.

As a rational decision-making process of county-level area development, this study designed 3-step framework : function-giving(areal analysis) on unit planning area by decision matrix of land suitability, check of typical characteristics of each function area and formulation of its future development strategies. Two alternatives were suggested as the areal analysis method, of which one is equal ordering / valuing technique of checking indices for land suitability classfication and the other preferential weighting technique. And then, under the algorithm specially defined in this study, land suitability maps(Fig.2,3) of the case study area (Seungju-county area, Chonnam-province, Korea) were drawn from the areal analysis results. By use of land suitability classification results, unique characteristics of typical function areas were defined (on 7 types of alternative 1 , 8 types of II ) and their future development strategies were formulated in the case study area, According to the categorization criteria in this study, all the villages of the case area were classfied as a suitable type of function areas illustrated in this study.

A total of 576 fatteners selected randomly from 6 Korean native goat farms in Chonnam area were examined for louse infestation from March 1997 to February 1998. The lice collected from the goats were identified. Four goat farms were selected and 20 goats were randomly chosen from each farm; blood samples were taken from the goats seasonally and examined hematologically and chemically. It was found that 495 out of 576 goats (85.9%) were infested with lice. The infestation rate in one of the 6 farms reached 92.9%. Two species of lice were identified; Linognathus sp. (sucking lice) and Bovicola sp. (biting lice). Goats infested with lice showed higher values in white blood cell, neutrophil and eosinophil counts than the goats not infested counterparts; same trend was seen with total protein, albumin and globulin concentrations. The results of this study indicate that louse infestation in the goat should be investigated extensively in view of the goat farming.
