  • Recently, researchers and practitioners are emphasizing the importance of integrated-strategic perspective between market and non-market strategies. In this perspective, this study was designed to examine the relationships between cultural distance and the degree of localization strategy and also the moderating effects between them. Using CSR data together with the localization index data (from 2010 to 2012) of multinational companies competing in Chinese market, the three hypotheses proposed in the study were examined. The results of multiple regression analyses show that cultural distance is positively related to the degree of localization strategy of multinational companies. The corporate social responsibility is also positively related to the degree of localization strategy of multinational companies. However, there is negative moderating effect of corporate social responsibility on the relationship between cultual distance and the degree of localization strategy. The findings of this study representing the complementary effects between localization strategy and corporate social responsibility imply that the effect of market competitive strategy can be complemented by non-market strategy. Thus, firms should plan their non-market strategies in the perspective of integrated strategic perspective with market strategy to compete with competitors and increase performance more efficiently.

Focusing on these two opposing cases, this study examines the characteristics and considerations of the localization transformation through in-depth interviews with experts in China.. As a result, was positive in terms of character diversification and online media interworking effects. However, the experts recognized that factors such as the confusion of character combinations due to frequent change of performers, frequent absences, conservative characteristics of Chinese state broadcasting that emphasized educational contents, and burden of localization due to changes in mission and challenge form each time were negatively affected. On the other hand, lacked the effect of online media interaction and lack of diversity of performers. However, the use of star actors' celebrities, the merits of actors with the characteristics of Chinese historical and cultural spaces, the use of Chinese flavors and fragrances, and similar types of missions and maintaining a stable composition each time favored localized production formats.

  • People have their own cultural backgrounds and experiences in terms of visual perceptional thinking so that they could misunderstand the cultural symbols, trademarks, Brand Identities, and trade characters, especially, animal trademarks. Sometimes Easterners and Westerners seem to not comprehend the different meanings of the cultural symbols. The signs of twelve Chinese zodiac animals are the typical symbol of the Asian mythology. What I wanted to focus on emphasizing the different views and perspective of an animal trademark is according to the Chinese Zodiac between Eastern and Western cultures. Generally, multiple symbolisms are difficult to comprehend, because they are created by individual ideas and incorporate several mythologies and histories. How do Westerners interpret the implied meaning of Eastern animals in general? How are they going to understand the Eastern animal logos or marks accurately? How can we solve the problem to make people understand their different meanings? There were some confusing pictorial images in the area of the design field when a designer creates an animal mark for globalization and localization. Creating of hybrid symbol is the best way to break the communication barriers with people all around the world.

  • Wnt proteins are a family of secreted glycoproteins that are evolutionarily conserved and considered to be involved in extensive developmental processes in metazoan organisms. The characterization of wnt genes may improve understanding the parasite's development. In the present study, a wnt4 gene encoding 491amino acids was amplified from cDNA of metacestodes of Taenia solium using reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR). Bioinformatics tools were used for sequence analysis. The conserved domain of the wnt gene family was predicted. The expression profile of Wnt4 was investigated using real-time PCR. Wnt4 expression was found to be dramatically increased in scolex evaginated cysticerci when compared to invaginated cysticerci. In situ hybridization showed that wnt4 gene was distributed in the posterior end of the worm along the primary body axis in evaginated cysticerci. These findings indicated that wnt4 may take part in the process of cysticerci evagination and play a role in scolex/bladder development of cysticerci of T. solium.
