  • In order to evaluate the utility of bituminous coal fly ash, gypsum, oyster shell as soil amendments, aadic clayloam paddy soils with low calaum content were amended in the upper 15㎝ with amendments, and then Chinese cabbage was cultivated under plastic film house. Amendments treated were, in metric tons per hectare, i) none(Check) ; ii) 80 fly ash(FA) ; iii) 4 shell(SH) ; iv) 56 fly ash+24 gypsum (FG) ; v) 40 fly ash+24 gypsum+0.8 shell(FGS). On the whole, soil chemical properties were improved by amendments treatments. Amongst treatments, FA prominently neutralized soil pH and increased contents of Av. $P_2O_5$, Ex. K, and Av. B in soils. Besides, it showed the highest ratio in bacteria/fungi and (bacteria+actinomycetes)/fungi. FGS also affected the neutralization of soil pH and the increment of Ex. Mg. Amendments plants appeared alkaline damages only at early growing stage, but showed positive responses in fresh weight yields : 23% for FGS : 21% for FG : 19 18% for SH. At harvesting, leaves both of FA and FGS plants had higher values in contents of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, B, reduang-sugar, and vitamin-C than of others. In especial, Check plants appeared the heart rot symptoms owing to calaum defiaency differently from amendments plants. Taken together, FGS was an effective combination enable to maximize the utility of fly ash, gypsum, shell as soil amendments, espeaally in cabbage yield and quality.

  • Characters in visual media have different symbolic meanings depending on their orientations or roles. 『山海經』 is a fantasy novel written around the 3rd or 4th century BC., and the characters in the classical Chinese novel have various meanings and symbols, such as disasters, wealth, diseases, etc., according to their types. The symbolism of animals that the Chinese think of, the symbolism of characters in fantasy novels, and the morphological analysis are necessary elements in the development of characters and the film industry in China. This study analyzed the images of characters as follows, focusing on classical Chinese fantasy novels 『山海经』, 『山海经圖象全體』, and 『山海經圖』 and the fantasy novels of the Qing Dynasty 『山海经存』 and 『山海经圖錄』. First, the shapes of characters are slightly different in illustration images. Second, Among 453 characters in 山海經, there are a total of 8 characters related to flood damage, such as floods, rainy season, etc.: 'Jangwoo', 'Hapyu', 'Hwasa', 'Yeongryeong', 'Buje', 'Seungwoo', 'Manman', and 'Naeo' Third, it can be seen that the characters are creative ones that are combined with objects and animals and plants, apart from the symbolic meanings of real animals and characters in 山海經. It is believed that the continuous analysis of the characters in 山海經 will enable them to be widely used in the film industry.

  • The "New Korean Wave" (Shin Hallyu) phenomenon, which is represented by the global popularity of BTS and director Bong Joon-ho's film "Parasite," is making the world excited. The influence of the Korean Wave is not only on politics, society, and culture, but it also has considerable economic ripple effects. We applied individual in-depth interviews with seven media and marketing experts in China to assess the changes in the impact of Korean cultural content (i.e., Hallyu content) and examine the possibility of marketing for Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) products using Hallyu content. Considering its massive market potential, China is still an attractive target for Korean companies and is of even greater importance to SMEs, which are highly dependent on exports and lacking marketing budgets as well as a professional workforce. Korean businesses and the economy at large would get a real boost if they could penetrate the Chinese market by utilizing the strength of Hallyu content. Based on the results of the in-depth interviews, the conclusion of our study suggests the direction of advertising strategy on how Korean products can attract the minds of Chinese consumers by utilizing the Shin Hallyu. This research is a practical study that diagnoses the reality of the Korean Wave in China objectively and has excellent practical implications as it proposes methods of how SMEs should use Hallyu for their marketing strategies.

  • Ne Zha: I am the destiny(2019)and Ne Zha Conquers the Dragon King(1979)as animated films based on the theme of Ne zha in different eras and contexts, reflecting the value and significance of different artistic images of Ne zha, The study of the value turn in the character image of Ne zha reflects the different styles of artistic images of Ne zha. This thesis attempts to interpret the changing values behind the different artistic expressions of the Ne zha character in different films. The transformation of Ne zha's image from good to evil, and the shift from the idea of "submit to the will of heaven" to the idea of "taking one's destiny into one's own hands" reflect the different values and meanings of Ne zha's image in different eras. Each film is distinctly contemporary, and Ne Zha: I am the destiny is an innovative and in-depth look at the character of Ne zha in the new era of cinema. There are many forms of artistic expression, and these differences greatly increase the appeal of Ne zha's artistic image, making Chinese animation films more space and value for development.

  • The predominant concern of the study consist of: (1) the effect of young Chinese's consuming of Korean cultural wave contents including Korean TV drama, film, and K-pop on their anti-Korean sentiment; (2) the second-order mediating effects of both liking for Korean wave and positive perceptions of Koreans. The research is based on a survey conducted with 695 chinese people between high-teen and 20's, located in eleven cities of seven provinces. The notable findings are as follow: First, the higher consuming of Korean cultural wave contents, the higher anti-Korean sentiment. Second, young Chinese, consuming more Korean cultural contents, show more liking for Korean wave. The more favor of Korean cultural contents, the more positive perceptions of Koreans. The more liking for Koreans wave contests and the more positive perception of Koreans, the less anti-Korean sentiment. Therefore, it is proved that liking for Korean cultural wave contents and perceiving Koreans with a positive view are important mediator to reduce the anti-Korean sentiment. Some practical implications are discussed based on this study's findings above.

  • It is common that in the vegetable cultivation areas, the farmers tend to continue the heavy fertilization to maximize the crop yields in short term. This results in the accumulation of fertilizer elements in the soil and increase in the electrical conductivity of soil. Disregarding these, farmers continue to apply heavy doses of fertilizers. A field experiment was conducted to find out on such a soil whether fertilizer application taking the quantity of nutrients accumulated in the soil into account would save the fertilizer without losing the yield of crop, using Chinese cabbage and spinach as test crops. The findings of the experiment is summarized as following. 1. The yield of Chinese cabbage was not affected by reduction of $19kg\;P_2O_5/10a$ and $7kg\;K_2O/10a$ as compared to farmers doses, and in case of spinach the yield rather was increased under the reduction of $22kg\;P_2O_5/10a$ and $22kg\;K_2O/10a$. 2. The reduction of fertilizers according to plant nutrient status of soils did not affect the inorganic nutrient contents of the crops significantly, in both Chinese cabbage and spinach. 3. A trend was observed that the reduction in the P and K fertilizers application would shorten the storage period of Chinese cabbage. 4. The reduction in P and K fertilizers application resulted in the reduction in available P, exchangeable K, EC and $NO_3-N$ in the soil after the harvest of the crops.

  • Yangbanxi("model plays") symbolize the Cultural Revolution(1966~1976) in China. The Eight Model Revolutionary Works include five Chinese Modern Peking Operas, namely, Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy(智取威虎山), Harbor(海港), Shaijabang(沙家浜), The Red Lantern(紅燈記), and Raid on the White Tiger Regiment ; (奇襲白虎團), ballets such as The Red Detachment of Women(紅色娘子軍) and The White-Haired Girl(白毛女) ; and a symphony: Shajiabang(沙家浜). On April 24, 1967, Chinese leaders, including Mao Zedong, saw a performance of The White-Haired Girl. Yanbanxi was performed in Beijing between May 24 and June 15 the same year. The Red Lantern was designated as a work for the proletarian classes by Jiang Qing(Mao Zedong's third wife and the most influential woman in China) and spread nationwide. It was also made into a film to be enjoyed by many people. The modern Chinese operas went a long way in their creation of visual images of revolutionary heroes. The Red Lantern, in particular, came to be regarded as the most representative revolutionary opera. In the course of such a process, Jiang Qing used Yangbanxi as a political tool for compelling the people to worship and pledge their allegiance to Mao in an effort to turn the Cultural Revolution into a class struggle on behalf of her husband. During the Cultural Revolution period, artists were made to associate with workers, farmers and soldiers based on the idea of advocating revolutionary arts for the proletarian classes. The characters in The Rend Lantern were portrayed as heroes from the proletarian classes according to the demands of the era. Chinese leaders set forth the principles of artistic expression, stressing three important factors: politics, heroes, and heroic acts, which were to be applied to all the visual arts, including Yangbanxi. This paper attempts to present a new view of fine arts during the Cultural Revolution in China by focusing on the productive significance of a leading style of a specific era in the past. To that end, this paper sheds light on products made in conformance with political instructions, stressing the importance of revolutionary heroes in The Red Lantern.

  • Chinese xian-xia films is a new genre that occurred through the fusion of the genre of martial arts and fantasy. This study analyzed the development of xian-xia films and the space aesthetics of xian-xia films through the miseenscene of the journey to the west films. In particular, the space for xian-xia in the films is divided into the human, urinary, heaven world and the space of conflict. It looks like the fantastic Middle Earth that Tolkien presented, however it is discriminatory in that it shows a highly Chinese appearance and overlapping world centered on the natural environment (the world of Mountains and Livers), such as mountains, deserts, caves, and grasslands, which usually appears in traditional martial arts history. Resently, the boom of journey to the west films is regarded as the change of the Chinese film industry under the influence of the development of IP (Intellectual Property) industry and the western fantasy genre in the 21st century China. This change marks the birth of the new Chinese fantasy "xian-xia" genre with the spirit of the present era that transcends the original world of journey to the west through the hybridization of the genre.

  • This study investigated the effects of conventional predrying and modified atmosphere (MA) on the head quality and storability of Chinese cabbage 'Norang' cultivar. Immediately after harvest, heads were predried for 2 days and MA stored in $50{\mu}m$ PE film packages at $4^{\circ}C$. MA packaging restrained Hunter L and b values of Chinese cabbage more effectively than non-packaging during storage at $4^{\circ}C$. But there was little change between the two treatments. Fresh weight decreased less in heads treated with predrying and MA than non-treatment during storage. Predried Chinese cabbage heads kept a high level of soluble solids in 4 weeks of storage, while non-packaging maintained high contents of soluble solids for 6 weeks of storage period. Chinese cabbage heads contained 7.0 mg/gFW glucose, 6.3 mg/gFW fructose, and 0.6 mg/gFW sucrose as major soluble sugars at harvest. The content of sugars decreased immediately after predrying and increased steadily after 2 weeks storage. It was found inappropriate to assess head quality of Chinese cabbage by investigating was investigated by Hunter a, firmness, dry matters content, pH, and soluble sugars after predrying and MA package. Marketability of Chinese cabbage was lost when heads were stored at room temperature in 2 weeks. It showed poor appearance of heads stored at $4^{\circ}C$ in 7 weeks. Decay occurred in Chinese cabbage stored in MA under excessive relative humidity. Predried head showed good appearance during storage at $4^{\circ}C$ for 7 weeks. As a result, Chinese cabbage heads can be successfully stored for at least 7 weeks with predrying and MA storage.
