This study surveys and reviews political change, economic performance, and regional cooperation that were carried out in 2016 by Southeast Asian countries and ASEAN. This paper reports that what has followed the inauguration of new governments in Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Laos fails to live up to the expectation and optimism that arose in the aftermath of elections and party congresses that took place in the first half of the year. In other countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia, where authoritarian regimes are faced with strong oppositions, the prospects for democratic change worsened to a substantial degree, as schisms and internal strives complicated the opposition camp as a result of instigation and intervention by the authoritarian leaders and their followers. In stable political systems, both democratic and authoritarian, no significant changes that may entail serious political implications were noticed. In 2016, the national economy of almost each and every country continued its slow but steady recovery that had started in 2014 and grew by 5% on the average. For 2017 onward, however, the earlier optimism that it would grow at least as fast dimmed down as uncertainty about the world economy looms larger due to the unexpected win by Donald Trump as U.S. president and the expected 'hard landing' of the Chinese economy around 2018. ASEAN declared the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) only one day before the New Year, but its track record looked already bad and unpromising by the end of 2016. ASEAN leaders were tied up by their domestic politics and affairs too tightly to take time off to work seriously to observe the schedule as laid out in the AEC Blueprint 2025. Korea's relationship with Southeast Asian countries and ASEAN was "as good as it gets" in 2016 as ever but could become subject to tough review in the near future, if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is found out to have been implicated in the ongoing Choi Sun Sil scandal and if the opposition wins the next presidential election to be held by this year.

This study analyzes the Textbook of Home Economics published by 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom(玄公廉)' that was the first textbook approved by the Korean Government and also disapproved by the Japanese Government. The results of the study are summarized as follows. 1. The Korean Government appointed the textbooks used in school. The textbooks of home economics appointed in 1910 were 'Hanmun Gajeonghak(漢文家政學)' and 'Sinpyeon Gajeonghak(新編家政學)'. But Japanese government disapproved these textbooks soon after it fully controlled Korea. 2. 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom' who published the textbook of home economics was from translator family that was famous since early Chosun Dynasty. The translator at that time with good command of foreign language introduced foreign books to the intellectuals of Chosun Dynasty. The textbook of home economics was also translated at that time. 3. 'Hanmun Gajeonghak', 'Sinpyeon Gajeonghak' and 'Sinjeong Gajeonghak(新政家政學)' published by 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom' were the translations of the same book. 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom' published the 'Hanmun Gajeonghak' written in Chinese character and 'Sinpyeon Gajeonghak' written in Korean and Chinese character in combination in December 1907, which were translations of the textbook of home economics published by 'Oh Yeo Ryoon(吳汝綸)' in China in July 1902. The textbook of 'Oh Yeo Ryoon' was the Chinese translation of the 'Sinseon Gajeonghak (新選家政學)' that was published by 'Shimoda Utako(下田歌子), in Japan in 1900. 4. The textbook of home economics written by 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom' was composed of five units, that is, general introduction, management of family members, family norms, family hygiene and home economy. The composition of the book by 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom' was quite different from that of 'Sinseon Gajeonghak' by 'Shimoda Utako'. This difference was made in the textbook of home economics of 'Oh Yeo Ryoon'. 5. The characteristics of home in the textbook of home economics by 'Hyun Kong-Ryeom' were summarized as follows. (1)Home as a national basic unit. (2)Home for education, (3)Home for rest, (4)Home for the consumption.
China has been pushing for a systematic strategy for territorialization over a long period of time to invade Korea's West Sea (Yellow Sea) in order to create China's territorial water. China's strategy for territorializing the West Sea is an activity in which China curbs the use of South Korea and enforces the illegal use of China in order to dominate the West Sea exclusively. China aided Chinese fishing boats that engaged in illegal fishing in Korea's jurisdiction as a means to territorialize the West Sea, and is opposed to combined exercise and training of Korea and the United States Naval Forces in the West Sea, while intentionally entering KADIZ(Korea Air Defense Identification Zone). In addition, Beijing used 'scientific exploration and research' measures as a pretext for its strategies in order to encroach on Korea's West Sea. China is carrying out such work to announce to the world that China is a systematic and organized country while consistently attempting to dominate the West Sea. China's activities in the West Sea seriously infringe South Korea's sovereignty. In order to respond to China's strategies of territorialization in the West Sea stated above, I analyzed the rejection effect of the ROK-US combined military training in the West Sea and presented a 'proportional response strategy centered on the ROK-US combined forces'. Korea should be able to respond proportionally to China's activities in the seas around the Korean peninsula, and Korea should be able to neutralize China's attempt to a Fait Accompli. In addition, just as China installs buoys in the Korea-China Provisional Measures Zone, Korea should be able to install and actively utilize some devices in the West Sea and for the use of free and open West Sea. Korea should not just wait for the tragic future to come without preparing for China's gradual and long-term strategy, and Seoul needs to respond to China's maritime policy in the West Sea with a more active attitude than it is now. China has historically taken a bold and aggressive response to neighboring countries that are consistent with a passive attitude, on the other hand, Beijing has taken a cautious approach to neighboring countries that respond with an active attitude. It should not be forgotten that Korea's passive response to the Chinese strategy in the name of a 'realistic approach' such as Korea's economic dependence on China for economy will result in China's success for territorialization of the West Sea.
This study was conducted to analyze the dietary lifestyle of local Chinese consumers and to classify dietary characteristics according to their dietary lifestyle factors and dietary behaviors. This investigation was conducted for 1 month from 1 January 2017 targeting 300 adult males and females living in China using the online survey company surveymonkey. Four factors relating to dietary lifestyle were identified, gourmet factor, healthy factor, convenience factor and economic factor, and these were grouped into 4 clusters according to their dietary lifestyle factor scores. Group 1, the gourmet economy group, showed a high percentage of living alone and a high frequency of eating out, but a relatively low percentage of three regular meals per day. Their dietary lifestyle was sensitive to gourmet factors and economic factors, but less sensitive to health and convenience factors. Group 2, the wide interest group, contained a high percentage of individuals in their 30s, as well as more highly educated individuals and a higher income than other groups. Because their dietary lifestyle scores tended to be higher than those of other groups, they sought a variety of new foods and gourmet meals for enjoyment of dining and life, as well as well-being food materials and foods related to health. Group 3, the health economic group, constituted a family-type consumer group with lower income level than the other groups. Members of this group were seeking health food and natural food in their dietary lifestyle and tended to pursue a high economic profit ratio when purchasing food. Finally, group 4 showed a relatively higher percentage of women over 30 and individuals with a college level or higher education than the other groups. This group was more interested in health and taste than price and convenience, and showed the highest LOHAS orientation among middle aged Chinese women. Moreover, members of this group directly utilized their knowledge regarding nutrition in real life.

Since 1990 the effort for unification has been active in each department of our society. But the study for health policy in Unified Korea has been scarce. Unified Korea should be a democracy and a constitutional state. So we should have lively discussion on the health law as well as unified general laws. The purpose of this study is to compare the health law of South Korea and North Korea and to understand the differences in them. We guess both Korea are considerably different each other. But this study found out that there are many health related laws that have same goals and contents. The reason for this is that both health laws have its root in Korea Law. And the right to health is the social basic right. whose characteristic can not be compatible with market economy and demands state intervention for securing the right to health. The health related laws are divided into 4 fileds. 1. There is a field A which is affected by unified political and economic system and differs little from the law system: the license system of medical personnel. 2. There is a field B which is seldom affected by unified political and economic system and differs little from the law system: the right and duty of medical personnel. quarantine law. 3. There is a field C which is affected by unified political and economic system and differs greatly from the law system: health institution law(exclusive of quarantine law), the laws of medical personnel category, of research center(especially per-mission, registration and establishment). of the role of basic health in private and public area. 4. There is a field D which is seldom affected by unified political and economic system and differs greatly from the law system: health equipment law(the laws of drugs, of cosmetics and of medical instrument. of blood management). the laws of health knowledge. of cooperation in chinese medicine and western medicine. the health promotion law. the rules of first-aid. the law of separation of dispensary from medical practice. The laws which are seldom affected by political and economic system can be consolidated. which in turn can be revised and enacted before unification of Korea through the interchange between North Korea and South Korea and the support to North Korea health system.
This paper is to analyse the development of the U.S.-China relationship and pending issues and implications. To this end the paper is composed of 6 chapters titled instruction; the relationship between the US and China in the early and hostile confrontation period; the relationship of US-Chinese approach/normalization period and the relationship in the 1980s and 1990s; the relationship by mid-2010 since the opening of the G2 era; the US-China relations and major pending issues and implications in the era of Trump-Xi Jinping; and conclusion. The rapid growth of China over the past three decades has changed the existing US-centered international order and has triggered competition between the two countries. The United States and China have become the only countries that regularly hold strategic and economic dialogue, and the topic has also developed into a country that discusses not only bilateral relations but also global issues. The issues of US-China cooperation and conflicts encompass global issues as well as bilateral relations issues. For example, the South China Sea, the North Korean nuclear issue and the THAAD, the economic and financial order, and the Taiwan issue. It is not a matter of another country, but a problem that directly or indirectly leads to Korea's diplomacy, security and economy. In order to prevent 'Korea passing' in the US-China relationship, we need a hedging strategy that maintains and strengthens the strong ROK-US security cooperation and harmonious promotion of ROK-China economic cooperation.
In today's society, competition of talents is a critical factor of success in modern enterprises due to living in the era of knowledge economy. Also, success of a modern enterprise can be defined by the brand equity or value of the company name defined by general public (functional) and its employees (symbolic). Company brand equity is a subjectively defined by each employee. This article aims to link the relations between employee's perception of employer brand equity to employees' job performance and turnover intention. In order to empirically verify the effects of employer brand on employee's organizational commitment, performance, and turnover intention, study conducted the general employees working for MNC in the field of e-commerce, IT, and Networking business based in China. Total 235 questionnaires were used for the empirical analysis and SPSS 21.0 statistics package was used to analyze the collected data. The results can be summarized as follows: (1) Both the functional employer brand and the symbolic employer brand equity have a significantly positive impact on organizational commitment. (2) Both the functional employer brand equity and the symbolic employer brand equity have a significant positive impact on employee performance. (3) Neither the functional employer brand equity nor the symbolic employer brand equity confirmed the negative relationship between turnover intentions. (4) Organizational commitment play the intermediary role in the impact of employer brand equity on employees' work performance.
China has become the group of two (G2) in almost fields including the scientific technology following the economic growth and joining the WTO in 2001. The main reason is that the government had strong intention for the industrialization of the scientific technology and connected the scientific technology and the economy. Typically, for analyzing the cause of the meteoric rise of China, the competitiveness of the scientific technology was analyzed by the entire score of the nation. However, in the case of China, there are differences in the pattern of the development between the eastern, central, and western province. Also, the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology are difference because each province established the decentralization of power. Therefore, it is more meaningful to analyze the main factors of Chinese economic growth on a province unit. In this study, therefore, we analyzed the competitive of R&D in China by 124 indexes in 31 areas. The data was analyzed by Partial least squares regression analysis. In conclusion, the scale of the area and the ability of R&D of the company are very important factors for total amount of production in the area. And the journals, patents, the transfer of technical know-how and the investment of R&D are main factors of the amount of export on the high-tech product. According to these results, the factors which make the difference in the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology in China were analyzed. Finally, it will be helpful to establish the policy for the development of the industrialization and the scientific technology in Korea.
Propaganda is often accepted as the political promotion that had used mostly by the socialist states during the First and the Second World Wars and the Cold War and by Hitler who governed Germany. Therefore, cases of the study on the image and picture propaganda were mostly posters or films of the socialism period when the propaganda was active. However, today it is not easy any more to find propaganda of the clear promotion characteristic as the past. In these modern times, it has changed into metaphorical propaganda based on 'persuasion', rather than publicity like past. Therefore, it has been changing from the direct promotion of the past into the indirect persuasion; and from the raw, direct and powerful publicity and claim into the soft and metaphorical persuasion and appeal. Thus, investigating again the contemporary propaganda will be an important element in analyzing contemporary images. The animation, selected as a target of the analysis of propaganda, exists in various ways in various images of the modern times, which is not too much to say that today's society is the television society. Besides, the animation is the image that can cover all ages as men and women of all ages can watch, so it is proper for analysis of the contemporary propaganda of metaphorical, indirect and various forms.
This article focuses on geo-institutional differentiation and a multi-scalar analysis of emerging capitalist development in Laos. It discusses the impact of the Greater Mekong Subregion on new institutional economic and economic geographical arrangements. It demonstrates the usefulness of the varieties of Asian capitalism approach. The rubber industry was chosen to unravel emerging but various sub-national institutional arrangements linked to higher scale levels. Rubber is a growing agribusiness industry throughout the country, led by the insatiable demand from China. Overall, this study shows that the capitalist development of the rubber industry features much geo-institutional differentiation, due to the different strategies of Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese investors. Since Laos is still in transition from a state-led economy to something else, it is impossible at this to identify the exact number capitalisms. Yet, the evidence on rubber clearly lays bare the presence of multiple institutional arrangements. Without more inclusiveness, however, the implications for regional development are worrying. Exclusive arrangements will most likely lead to more uneven regional development and higher regional inequality. To refine theories on sub-national varieties of capitalism in developing countries it is instructive to consider more explicitly the notion of regional personal capitalisms and the complex interplay between national and regional states and relationships between capital accumulation and livelihood analyses.
