관악구 보육교사의 배식서비스 참여 및 식사지도 실태 : 영아반과 유아반의 비교 (Teachers' Participation and Mealtime Instruction in the Food Service at the Kwanak-gu Child-care Centers: Comparison between Child-care Teachers Caring Different Age Groups, Children Younger than Three Years and Those Three Years or Older)

  • This study was conducted to investigate how child-care teachers participate, practice mealtime instruction, and perceive difficulties in food service, focusing on comparison between the teachers caring two different age groups: children younger than three years (Younger Group) and those three years or older (Older Group). Questionnaires were distributed to 151 child-care centers in Kwanak-gu, Seoul, Korea during December, 2011. Only the data from 25 child-care centers, where two respective teachers in charge of Younger Group and Older Group completed the questionnaires, were analyzed. The results showed that there was no difference in terms of child-care teachers' participation in food service practice between the two groups, except for serving method; 'Pre-plated' serving was used significantly more often in Younger Group, whereas 'Line-up' serving was used in Older Group. Approximately, three quarters of the child-care centers had policies or guidelines on mealtime instruction. During mealtime, child-care teachers tended to use frequently verbal instructions such as "sit up straight when you eat" about eating manner, "don't be picky with your food" about eating habit, and "wash your hands before eating" about eating procedure in both the groups. There was no statistically significant difference regarding child-care teachers' perceived difficulties in food service between the two groups. These results indicated that child-care teachers' participation and mealtime instruction in food service did not differ between the two age groups, although children's development of digestion and eating skill differed by age. Therefore, training should be provided to child-care teachers about food service practices and mealtime instruction appropriate to children's age.

지역 저소득층 아동의 우울증상과 주의력결핍-과잉행동증상에서 사회경제적 요소의 관련성 (Association of Psychosocial Factors in Developing Childhood Depression and ADHD in a Community Low Income Family Children)

  • Ovjectives: As the attention devoted to children's mental health increases, medical costs and burdens mount as well. In the present study, we evaluated the association between socioeconomic status(SES) and major child psychiatric symptoms. Methods: The subjects of this study were children of recruited from a mental health screening program in the Seoul Sungbuk mental health center over the course of 3 months. To establish the SES of each child, we collected data about each child's medical insurance, years of parental education, household income, family structure and housing. 149 children & parents completed questionnaires including the Childhood Depression Inventory(CDI) and the Korean Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Rating Scale(K-ARS). Results: The mean K-ARS-P score was $12.1{\pm}11.1$ and the suspected prevalence of ADHD was 20.8%(n=31). The mean cm score was $12.9{\pm}7.9$, and the prevalence of suspected depression was 16.8%(25). Depressive symptoms and ADHD symptoms were both more severe than those observed in a previous epidemiologic study in Korea. Depressive symptoms were more closely associated with family SES status. Conclusion: SES status is one of the most important risk factors in the development of major child psychiatric symptoms. In our study we found that depressive symptoms in particular were most tightly associated with psychosocial factors. Evaluation of the risk factors, early screening and intervention for low SES children would be valuable mental health management tactics to implement in a community mental health system.

지역아동센터 교사의 칫솔질 지도여부에 따른 아동과 교사의 구강보건행태 (The Oral Health Behaviors for Children and Teachers by Teacher-Supervised Toothbrushing in Community Child Center)

  • 지역아동센터 아동의 구강건강증진을 위해 개인의 행동 변화, 물리적 환경의 변화와 더불어 교사의 역할과 책임을 고찰하고자 지역아동센터 내에서 양치시설이 설치되어 있는 센터와 그렇지 않는 센터와의 구강건강증진에 대한 견해를 비교한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 일상적으로 교사가 칫솔질을 지도하는 센터의 아동들이 급식 후 칫솔질 실천율이 높았고, 간식 후 칫솔질 칫솔질 또는 물양치를 실천하는 비율이 높았다(p<0.05). 또한 이를 교사가 지도하는 빈도는 일상적으로 칫솔질을 지도하는 센터의 경우 '항상 또는 자주 지도'하는 비율이 높았고, 더불어 치약의 사용량과 칫솔관리 및 보관 등 구체적인 구강건강관리 내용을 지도비율이 높았으며, 이는 일상적으로 칫솔질을 지도하지 않는 센터와 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.001). 2. 불량한 칫솔을 교체하지 못하는 아동의 비율이 40.0% 이상인 지역아동센터가 전체의 24.4% 수준이었고, 그 사유로는 대부분 부모의 관심부족으로 나타났으며, 이는 칫솔질 지도여부 간에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05). 3. 지역아동센터 교사의 구강건강관련 보건행동은 칫솔질 지도여부와는 상관없이 일 평균 간식은 1회 정도 제공하며, 간식의 종류는 우식성 식품과 비우식성 식품을 반반 정도 제공하고 있었다. 또한 아동의 착한 행동에 대한 보상으로 일상적 또는 때때로 단것을 제공하는 비율이 각각 47.0%, 52.3%로 나타났다(p>0.05). 4. 지역아동센터 교사의 칫솔질을 지도여부와 상관없이 대부분의 교사들의 구강보건지식 수순은 높았고, 본인들의 칫솔질 실천도 일 평균 3회 정도로 높았으며, 회전법으로 칫솔질을 실천하고 있었다(p>0.05). 5. 지역아동센터 아동의 구강건강증진을 위한 환경 개선에 대한 견해는 칫솔질 지도여부와 상관없이 지역아동센터 아동의 건강증진 주체를 아동복지교사로 생각하고 있었으며(73.4%), 칫솔질 및 손씻기 용의 세면대 개선(77.2%)을 요구하였고, 대부분의 보건 프로그램을 건강증진 프로그램으로 생각하고 있으며, 그 중 양치와 손씻기 등 개인위생에 관한 내용의 요구도(100.0%)가 높았다. 뿐만 아니라 치과검진과 치과치료 연계(100.0%) 등 직접적인 치과의료 서비스제공의 요구도도 높았다. 이상의 결과로 지역아동센터 아동의 구강건강을 증진시키기 위해서는 아동의 올바른 구강건강관리 행동을 지속적으로 유지하기 위한 교사들의 적극적인 참여와 지도가 매우 중요하며, 이를 위해서 지역사회 내에서 교사를 위한 교육프로그램 마련뿐 아니라 사회적 지원이 함께 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

아동복지시설 사례관리수행 저해요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Inhibiting Factors of Case Management in Child Welfare Facilities)

  • 본 연구는 주요 아동복지시설에서의 사례관리 수행정도 및 사례관리수행을 저해하는 요인 및 이를 보완해 줄 수 있는 요인들을 밝히고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 지역아동센터 종사자 181명, 아동보호전문기관 및 가정위탁지원센터 종사자 96명을 대상으로 자료를 분석하였으며, SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용해 분석하였다. 그 결과 지역아동센터의 경우 대인관계기술, 사례관리지침, 슈퍼비전, 네트워크 활용정도가 영향요인으로 나타났으며, 타 아동복지시설의 경우 개인적 저해요인, 사회복지근무경력, 사례관리경력, 네트워크 활용정도로 분석되었다. 이에 따른 사회복지 실천적 함의로는 종사자들의 대인관계기술을 증진시키고 슈퍼비전 체계를 강화시키며 명확한 사례관리수행 가이드 라인을 제시해야 할 것이다. 또한 아동복지시설의 지역내 네트워크를 구축하고 네트워크 내 기관들 간의 협력과 상호지지를 강화해야 할 것이다.

한국어판 DISC-IV(Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children Version IV)의 신뢰도 및 타당도 (The Reliability and Validity of Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children Version IV-Korean Version(DISC-IV))

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Korean Version of the Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children Version IV(DISC-IV), a highly structured diagnostic interview used to assess more than 30 psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents. Methods: A total of 91 study subjects, including 67 subjects who visited the child and adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinic at our institution and 24 community-based subjects, were assessed using the Korean Version of the DISC-IV. Clinical diagnosis was used as a gold standard for the examination of the validity of the DISC-IV. Forty-four of the study subjects were randomly selected for test-retest reliability measurement. Results: The validity of the Korean Version of the DISC-IV showed kappa values ranging from 0.25 to 0.40 in the clinical sample and 0.65 to 1.00 in the community sample. The sensitivities varied according to the diagnostic categories, but the specificities were excellent for all diagnostic entities. Conclusion: The Korean Version of the DISC-IV showed good reliability and validity in Korean children and adolescents. The Korean Version of the DISC-IV might be a useful tool for assessing psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents.

물의 비등현상에 대한 4, 6, 8세 아동의 액체보존개념 (Liquid Conservation Concept in the Water Boiling Phenomenon among 4-, 6-, 8- Year Olds)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate children's conception of liquid conservation according to their ages and tasks in the boiling phenomenon The subjects were thirty 4-year-olds, thirty 6-year-olds, and thirty 8-year-olds recruited from two day-care center, one kindergarten, and one elementary school, in Seoul. Statistical methods used for data analysis were frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations and repeated measures ANOVA. As the result, there was a significant difference in children's conception of liquid conservation in the boiling of water according to their ages. 8-year-old children showed higher levels of cognition than 4 and 6-year-olds. There was no difference in children's conception of liquid conservation in the boiling of water according to tasks.

지역아동센터 종사자의 사례관리 수행과 영향요인 (Case Management Performance of Community Child Center Workers' and Influential Factors)

  • Case management is becoming increasingly more important in the field of social welfare. The purpose of this study was to examine the practice of case management at community child centers and to identify factors influencing their performance. In addition, this study also analysed the performance level of case management at each stage and the factors influencing the level at each stage. For the purpose of this study, data obtained from about 181 community child center workers in Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongsangnamdo were analyzed. According to the results of the analysis, in Model 1 which represents the category of socio-demographic and personal factors, three factors namely gender, experience in case management, and interpersonal skills were found to be significantly influential and they have an explanatory power of 21.5%. Under the category of organizational factors in Model 2, four factors were found to be influential: experience in case management, interpersonal skills, availability of case management guidelines, and holding case conferences. These factors account for 33% explanatory power, 11.5% higher than that of Model 1. In Model 3 which represents the third category of community network literacy, three factors namely interpersonal skills, availability of case management guidelines, and ability to utilize networks were found to influence case management at community child centers, and they have an explanatory power of 43.4%, 10.4% higher than that of Model 2. For the practice of social welfare, these findings have the implication that community child center workers need to improve their interpersonal skills by cultivating communication skills, collaborative problem-solving skills, conflict-management skills, and other relevant skills. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide specific guidelines for case management, to have regular case conferences, to establish a community network, and to reinforce cooperation and mutual support among institutions within the network.

보육시설의 영양사 배치를 통한 영양교육 및 효과 평가 (The Effectiveness of Nutrition Education Provided by Dietitians in Child Care Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition education with nutrition services provided by dietitians who were placed in child care facilities from the Korean Dietetic Association. For this, we investigated the levels of nutrition knowledge and dietary intakes of children who attended child-care centers as well as dietary practices of children assessed by their parents. The treatment for children consisted of nutrition education and food service activities that are provided by the dietitian who have 3 to 5 years experience. Nutrition education was implemented during 10 weeks, 20 times, and a total 400 min and it's effectiveness was evaluated by questionnaire. Data were obtained for 123 children aged 4 to 5 years old who attended four child-care centers, one for a control group and 3 for intervention groups. Dietary intakes were investigated by measuring one-serving size and plate waste a of child for one-day dietary records before and after nutrition education. The levels of nutrition knowledge of children improved showing 70.80 points before to 83.45 points after nutrition education (p<0.001). Dietary intakes of the children after nutrition service increased significantly on cooked rice (133.66 g), Kimchi (19.41 g), side dish of meat/fish (48.40 g), and side dish of vegetables (24.88 g). Dietary practices of children after treatment also improved especially 'eat diverse meat, fish, egg, and bean' and 'never leave plate waste'. To summarize, this study pointed out that nutrition service and nutrition education provided by dietitians had influences on increases of the nutrition knowledge, dietary intake, and dietary practices. Therefore, placement of dietitians needs to extend to child care facilities from the 100 persons-over-capacity facility to the 50 persons-over-capacity facility, for providing professional service such as nutrition education and nutrition counseling.

일부 지역아동센터 구강건강증진 프로그램 운영 효과 평가 (Evaluation on the Oral Health Promotion Program Effect from some Part of Community Child Center)

  • 지역아동센터 교사가 아동에게 일상적 구강보건교육을 실천할 수 있는 프로그램을 제공할 목적으로 일부 지역아동센터를 대상으로 전문가와 지역아동센터 교사가 협력하여 운영한 4주간의 구강건강증진 프로그램의 효과를 측정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 구강건강증진 프로그램 운영 전 후의 구강보건지식을 평가한 결과 교육 전 3.43점에서 교육 후 4.40점으로 상승하였고, 이는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.001). 2. 구강보건인식의 점수를 분석한 결과는 구강건강증진 프로그램 운영 전에 16.3점에서 운영 후 18.7점으로 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동의 구강보건인식이 긍정적인 방향으로 증가하였다(p<0.05). 3. 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동의 구강건강증진 프로그램 전후 구강건강행동의 변화에서 간식자체를 먹지 않거나 2~3일에 1회 섭취한다는 빈도와 어제 칫솔질 여부는 소폭 증가하였다. 4. 반복적인 구강보건교육을 통해 아동들의 구강 내 치면세균막관리 점수는 개선되었다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과로 지역아동센터 아동의 구강건강을 증진시키기 위해 교사들의 지속적인 감독과 교육이 진행될 수 있도록 구강건강 프로그램의 내용 개발과 프로그램의 확대가 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

스웨덴과 한국 유아교육기관 교사의 급식 지도 태도 비교 연구 (A Study of Early Child Care Center Teachers' Attitudes for Meal and Snack Guidance between Sweden and Korea)

  • The objective of this study was to compare early child care center teachers' attitudes for meal and snack guidance between Sweden and Korea. Participants were 251 early child care center teachers (Sweden: 134, Korea: 117) working in Goetebory, Sweden, and Seoul, Korea. The survey was conducted from December in 2003 to February in 2004. SPSS programme was used for statistical analysis. Sixty five point eight percent of the Korean early child care center teachers provided a certain amount of foods for children. But $20.9\%$ of Swedish provided a certain amount of foods for children, $79.1\%$ of them provided the amount a child wanted. Sixty one point seven percent of Korean teachers allowed a child leave foods on the plate, but $95.5\%$ of Swedish teachers asked a child eat all food on the plate. When a child didn't want to eat, $61.1\%$ of the Korean teachers fed him/her, but $11.0\%$ of the Swedish teachers did. Only $42.4\%$ of the Swedish teachers allowed a children eat sweets, but $92.9\%$ of Korean did. The Swedish teachers' perception for food guidance were eating by child himself/herself > washing hands before eating > having appropriate table manner > eating as talking with friends > not playing during the meal time, while the Korean teachers' was taking various food > having appropriate table manner > eating by child himself/herself, not playing during the meal time > washing hands before eating. The Swedish teachers thought 'eating as talking with friends' and 'eating by child himself/herself' is important, where as the Korean's did 'eating without making noise', 'not playing during the mealtime' in the eating behavior. For 'brushing teeth after meal' the Swedish teachers' score (1.5) was lower than the Korean (4.2). The results is necessary to improve meal and snack guidance for Korean early child care center teachers' education.
