  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the two assertions of hereditarianism and environmentalism in the intellectual abilities, which is one of the most important factors of giftedness, and thus to discuss and understand giftedness. As the result of various investigations about the two opposing opinions, it is general view that about 50% of the intellectual abilities are endowed by genetic factors, but they are not fixed life long but changed and developed by posterior experiences. In other word, it is said that giftedness itself of which an important factor is intellectual abilities is determined by heredity, but the degree of revelation of the potential faculty is determined by environmental factors. Therefore, the recent major concerns in this field seem to be on how to make unfold most the children's giftedness rather than arguments about the degree of genetic and environmental factors. It can be said that giftedness is sprung up and accelerated only when an excellent genetic factor and a special environmental factor are transacted dynamically and amplified exquisitely.

  • The Family Planning Project as a birthcontrol policy has been enthusiastically carried out by the government since 1962. But gradually it get less enthusiastic. Therefore, it is required to establish a more comprehensive and systematic plan and to carry out it thoroughly. And it is needless to say that people's knowledge about family planning, their attitudes and their practice should be concretly comprehended. Taking these things into consideration, this study surveys the general situation on family planning among 237 married women of less than 34 years in Guro 6-dong, one of target areas for Korea University Health Project from Sep. 17, 1984 to Oct. 13, 1984. The results are as follows; 1) Most of the subjects (62.8%) want 2 children and 13.6% want one child. But son-preference consciousness is remarkably revealed among them, which is thought to cause social inequality between man and woman. Therefore, it needs to change the traditional son-preference convention, for equality of all men regardless of sex. 2) The rate of induced abortion experience by person is 61.6% and the average frequency is 1.4. Almost all the induced abortion are carried out at clinics and hospitals during 2~3 months after conception. To prevent these unnecessary conception and induced abortion in view of maternal health, ethics and economics, proper contraceptive measures should be emphasized. 3) Temporary contraceptives should be sold more widely in the basis of free trade in order to practice the intensive and comprehensive family planning because the degree which Health Center has been utilized for buying temporary contraceptives is low. 4) There are serious problems such as the side effects and the lack of follow up care in permanent contraceptives. Those lower the practice rate of permanent contraception. Therefore it is necessary to improve the quality of permanent contraception practice and strengthen the follow-up care.

  • The different growth steps of human show the different energetic phenomenon such as the strength of triple energizer, the sale of extra meridian, and the stability of 12 meridians. So we have to understand the physiological and pathological phenomena on this point of view. Especially atopic dermatitis means the loss of adaptability under the lack of genuine energy. If you approach to this disease not with any perception of excess or deficiency of the human genuine energy but with simple symptom enumeration or partial diagnosis, it will be dangerous. So we must approach to this disease with more concrete and objective body-centered standard. Thus when we cure and diagnose infants with this disease, we should focus on stablizing the "Energy of Earth(土)" digestive ability, under the consideration of inducement to the enough "Byun-Jeung-Hu(變蒸候)" and the function of Triple Energizer. Through this process we can lead infants to the beginning equipment state(始全). Until 7 years old, we should stabilize the Link Vessel(維脈) by clarifying interior and exterior classification of Nutritive Element and Defensive Energy to control the child's energy of metal(金), water(水), wood(木) and fire(火) in the basis of the energy of earth(土). And also we should stabilize the Heel Vessel(?脈) through the Water and Fire complement each other to control the movements and to control sleep and awakening. Through this process, we can lead children to the basal equipment state(本全). After then, until adolescent phase, we should control 12 meridian and 8 extra meridian by leading vital function to be harmonized and prosperous on the basis of the meridian to reach the mature equipment state(旣全). Adult atopic dermatitis should be controlled through conciliation between meridian and internal organs by differentiating male from female.

  • Information and communication environment includes a lot of dangerous factors to elementary school children who do not establish their own value sense as well as its related knowledge yet. This paper proposes a case based multiplex teaching and learning model which leads students to participate and be interested in, then to improve the educational level of information and communication ethics in elementary school. This model progresses in centric of the conflict situations in information and communication ethics that can be commonly occurred in actual life. To adapt case based approach, three types of teaching and learning models, value conflict, value clarification, and role playing, are applied in a combined form. Along with applying the models, their educational effects have been compared and analysed in time sequence, in the educational level improvement point of view. The verification has been conducted by using surveys and questionnaires, in the four areas; cognitive, affective, behavioral, and then overall. The verification results show that the proposed method is effective to improve the educational level of information and communication ethics in elementary schooll.

  • Objective: The purpose of the study was to calculate the effective and absorbed organ doses of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in pediatric patient using personal computer-based Monte Carlo (PCXMC) software and to compare them with those measured using thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) and anthropomorphic phantom. Materials and Methods: Alphard VEGA CBCT scanner was used for this study. A large field of view (FOV) (20.0 cm × 17.9 cm) was selected because it is a commonly used FOV for orthodontic analyses in pediatric patients. Ionization chamber of dose-area product (DAP) meter was located at the tube side of CBCT scanner. With the clinical exposure settings for a 10-year-old patient, DAP value was measured at the scout and main projection of CBCT. Effective and absorbed organ doses of CBCT at scout and main projection were calculated using PCXMC and PCXMCRotation software respectively. Effective dose and absorbed organ doses were compared with those obtained by TLDs and a 10-year-old child anthropomorphic phantom at the same exposure settings. Results: The effective dose of CBCT calculated by PCXMC software was 292.6 μSv, and that measured using TLD and anthropomorphic phantom was 292.5 μSv. The absorbed doses at the organs largely contributing to effective dose showed the small differences between two methods within the range from -18% to 20%. Conclusion: PCXMC software might be used as an alternative to the TLD measurement method for the effective and absorbed organ dose estimation in CBCT of large FOV in pediatric patients.

  • The purpose of this research is to study the middle and high school student’s value on the family life of the contemporary society. The data for this study has been collected for 808 students of kangwon-do by Liert-scale Type questionnaire. The data were processed by SPSS-X Program. Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, One-way ANOVA, Pearson’r coefficient, Step-wise multiple regression and Cronbach’coefficient have been calculated and analyzed. The Summary of this research is described as follows. Firstly, the overall average of value of family life was 3.25 points which reflected more or less modern tendency. Secondly, significant difference in the student’s value of family life affected by environmental variables were such as sex(P<.001) school years(P<.001) group(P<.01). Thirdly, the overall average of the student’s interest in the home economics was 3.74 points which reflected heigher tendency, Significant difference in the student’s interest in the home economics according to environmental variables were such as sex(P<.001) school years(P<.05), living standard(P<.01), residential area(P<.001). Fourthly, the student’s overall interest in the home economics and their view on the family life were correlated as follows; Spare time(r=-1.3), parents-children(r=.12) relatives and neighbors(r=0.8) show lower correlation and household work(r=.07) show higher correlation. Fifthly, the area which has closest correlation with the value on the family life was the value on family economics, whereas is has been shown that the field with least correlation was the area of supporting the spare time. Sixthly changes that affect the student’s value of the family life were such as sex (${\beta}$=.43), school years(${\beta}$=.18), group(${\beta}$=.15) and interest degrees(${\beta}$=-.12). These whole explanatory power was 21%.

  • This thesis takes an aim to investigate the relationship between the costume and enlightenment ideology by studying the change of costume, and reviewing the portraiture of Queen Marie Antoinette. The method of this research is to select the 29 pieces among the portraitures from 1770 to 1793, and to analyze the headdress, shape of robes and ornaments. The results are as follows. The first period(1770-1774): The costume in this period of Dauphin of France is described as vivid, and simple like her characters, and also represents her active lifestyle. The ideology of equality between the two sexes from the enlightenment slightly influence the costumes seen inside the portrait of Dauphin. The second period (1775-1779): This is the early period of the Queen's enthronement and also before her childbirth. The relatively small number of portraits showed her as an authoritative figure because her skirts were expanded with huge panier, the waist were tightened with corset, and her headdress was enlarged. Thus, this period could not be defined as the one of enlightenment philosophies in light of the persistent unsanitary construction of costumes distorting the body. The third period(1780-1789): There are many portraits depicting the Queen and her children. It is noteworthy that the English style picturesque garden was illustrated as a background while the costume was simple and sanitary, both being affected by the enlightenment. The last period(1789-1793): This is the period between the French revolution and the death of the Queen. The form of costumes was transformed into the neoclassic style, headdress was reduced in size, and was simplified as a result of complete change of costume for the enlightenment. This research is to be interpreted as a tool of study about the relationship of costume, society and ideological streams and also be a means of elucidating the contemporary times in view of the past ones.

  • In view of funding crunches and inadequate manpower in cytology in developing countries like India, single lifetime screening for cervical cancer has been suggested. In this study, an attempt was made to cscreening to make it more effective for early detection. Cytological data were derived from the ongoing routine cervical cytology screening program for women attending Gynaecology Out Patient Department of Queen Mary's Hospital of K.G.Medical University, Lucknow, India during a span of 35 years (April 1971 - December 2005). Cervical smears in a total of 38,256 women were cytologically evaluated. The frequencies of squamous intraepithelial lesions of cervix (SIL) and carcinoma cervix were found to be 7.0% and 0.6%, respectively, in the series. Predisposing factors related to cervical carcinogenesis were analyzed in detail to establish the most vulnerable groups of women for single life time screening. The incidence of SIL and carcinoma cervix was found to be maximal in women above the age of 40 years irrespective of parity and in multiparous women (with three or more children) irrespective of age. The incidence of cervical cytopathologies was significantly higher in symptomatic women, the frequency of SIL being alarmingly higher in women complaining of contact bleeding and that of carcinoma cervix in older women with postmenopausal bleeding. It is consequently felt that single life time screening must include the three groups of women delineated above. Such selective screening appears to be the most economical, cost effective and feasible approach to affordably control the menace of cervical cancer in developing countries like India.

  • Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis(Idiopathic Histiocytosis, Histiocytosis-X) is most often found in children and young adults, and cell proliferation with specific phenotype shows ultrastructural and immunohistochemical similarities with Langerhans Cells that normally exist in epithelium and mucosa. This disease occurs as single or multiple lesions in skull, ribs, vertebrae, mandible and long bones, and when it involves mandible, clinical sign and symptoms such as bone swelling and pain are noticed. When it involves alveolar bone, severe tooth mobility as well as gigival inflammation, proliferation, and ulceration are commonly found, and so it is not easy to differentiate it from general inflammatory diseases. Any local lesion at the tooth apex on the x-ray view needs to be differentiated from inflammatory disease, and multiple lesions from multiple ostoeoma and chronic multifocal osteomyelitis. This case is LCH in 51-year-old male patient ; this is a rare case, for the patient belongs to an age group with very low incidence rate of the disease. although three-timed biopsy tests and longterm observation at two university hospitals, it was misdiagnosed as multifocal osteomyelitis.

  • This stud is my second trial to examine the costume of Balhae Dyansty. The subject of this study is the costume of a bronze statue excavated in the Maritime Provinces of Russia. The bronze statue is in the custody of Vladivostok Museum E.V. Shavkunov a Russian archelogist reported it a statue of-ficial of balhae dynasty in the 7-8th century. Judged his report lack of basis I suggest new opinion on sex, age, married or unmarried. social position manufactured time of the statue by comparative study on the costume hair-style and appearance of the statue with around nations' antiquities. hair-style of the statue is basically included in Ssangge and complexed style of Sage Ssangsuhuange, and Guange, Generally, Ssangge is a hair style of children, unmarried women, court ladies, dancing girls, and instrument player (lady)s'. The statue wears round-necked blouse long skirt broad fabric belt at high waist broad sleeve and confront collar coat cloud shaped shawl and risen tip shoes. The figure of statue is de-scribed plump. The statue shows straight sil-houette and high waist typical style of Tang, Uddai, The most characteristic facto is cloud shaped shawl Cloud shaped shawl was originally one of the northern race's shoulder ornaments. From the view of Comparative study the antiquities of NamDang and JunChock are simi-lar to this statue. Besides Tsukanovka river where the statue was excavated is Kraskino ruins of a castle formed single cultural layer of Balhae Dynasty and are relics of the layer of Balhae Dynasty and are relics of the latter period of Balhae Dynasty. Therefore this statue is assumed to have been manufactured at the last years of Balhae Dynasty and to be a figure of unmarried woman not official.
