ARM11 기반의 Baby Care System Platform 구현 (Implementation for Baby Care System Using ARM11)

  • 최근 대부분의 가정에서 자식을 하나만 나아서 기르는 저출산 시대가 왔다. 이에 따라 부모들은 태어나면서부터 아이에게 지대한 관심을 가지게 되고, 헬스케어(Healthcare) 분야가 새로운 성장산업으로 부상하면서 (베이비 케어)Baby Care에 대한 관심 또한 높아졌다. 지금까지의 Baby Care 제품은 식품, 목욕용품 그리고 의복 등에서 발전을 해 왔지만 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 발달과 헬스케어산업의 발달과 함께 Baby Care 전자 제품 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 유럽이나 미국 등에서는 유아를 다른 방에서 키운다. 이때 유아가 돌연사하는 현상이 종종 일어나는데 이를 예방하기 위해서 유아의 상태를 측정하고, 부모가 유아에게 떨어져 있어도 유아의 상태를 확인할 수 있는 Platform를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 라디오 주파수를 이용하여 데이터 저장 없이 부모의 실시간 관찰에 의해서만 판단했던 시스템을 고속의 ARM11 기반의 S3C6410 CPU를 이용하고, 무선 WI-FI(IEEE8.2.11)기술을 활용한 유아 돌연사 방지 Platform구현에 대한 연구를 진행하였다.

유기농산물구매 및 추가지불가격 영향요인 분석 (Analysis of determinant factors on the purchase of and willingness-to-pay for organic products.)

  • This study examined the differences on the amount of purchase of and willingness-to-pay more for organic products by socio-economic variables, knowledge and reliability of organic products, and concern for food. In addition the effects of the reliability and the price of organic products on the amount of purchase and willingness-to-pay more for organic products in the Path analysis. The results were below. First, consumers who had high education, were the age of 40's, high income, high level of knowledge and reliability for organic products were more likely to purchase organic products. Second, the level of willingness-to-pay more for organic Products were high when consumers with more than three children, not lowest level of health, and higher reliability. Third, the reliability of organic products impact the amount of purchase of organic products, but not the perception of organic products' price. Forth, both the reliability and the perception of those price impact the level of willingness-to-pay more for organic products.

A mothers' perspective on fish and her child's fish consumption in Surakarta, Indonesia

  • BACKGROUD/OBJECTIVES: Understanding the factors associated with fish consumption is necessary to determine strategies to improve the fish consumption particularly those high in omega-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 LCPUFA). The aim of this study was to analyse the correlation between a mother's perspective on fish and actual fish consumption in their children. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Two hundred thirty-one elementary school children grade 3-6 and their mothers in Surakarta were recruited using multi stage random sampling for this study. Data was collected in July and August 2017. A validated questionnaire consisted of 3 topics including knowledge related to the health benefits and organoleptic properties of fish and cooking technique-related attitudes on fish were used to measure the mother's response to the fish properties. A validated food frequency questionnaire and a food picture book of fish specifically designed for the survey were developed and used to assess fish consumption of the children. A χ2 test was used to analyse the correlation between the mothers' perspective on fish and their children's fish consumption. RESULTS: The median fish consumption in children was 65 g/d with fried non-oily or lean fish, e.g., milkfish (locally called Bandeng) and catfish (locally called Lele) were consumed more than oily fish as well as processed fish products. Of all children, 31% met the fish consumption recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency-Food and Drug Administration 2017. There was no relationship between a mother's knowledge related to health benefits, organoleptic properties and cooking technique-related attitude toward fish and her child's fish consumption. CONCLUSIONS: The fish consumption of children is not influenced by their mother's perspective on fish. Nutrition education strategies are warranted to improve fish consumption and maintain the optimal benefits by consuming fish, including fish high in n-3 LCPUFA.

인형의상의 문화적 고찰과 디자인 개발 연구 (A Study on the Contemplation and Design Development of Doll's Costume)

  • Dolls which were recognized as children's toys are recently also recognized as one of the cultural products of adult's hobby. Thus this research is about dolls' fashion and the possibility of their industrial expansion. Moreover, the object of the research is to develop and manufacture high quality fashion doll products in Korea which are mostly imported from foreign countries. The research studied the origin and the path of the development of fashion dolls with the history of clothing and special books for dolls. By organizing the character and the fashion of dolls' costumes, the research has a meaning for not only to make an academic approach of dolls' costumes which was insufficient in Korea but also to provide useful information to toy enterprises. The conclusion of this research is as followed. First, dolls have a lot of possibilities to be developed as a high value added cultural product industry by emerging from their children's toy image. Second, since costumes of dolls also have a trend, it is necessary to develop products with the trend to satisfy customer's willing. Third, organization of both the books about the dolls' costumes and the information for their DIY is urgently needed for the domestic fashion doll manias. Forth, the necessity to scheme the expansion of fancy industry has been raise by using dolls' characterization and fashion. Fifth, the researcher who has researched the above necessities has manufactured 8 pieces of dolls' costumes and provided the actual solutions to the each point of the discussions. In sum, I suggest expanding the scope of both research subject and product manufacturing of the research results and also recommend for further researches to develop the products which consumers want.

경기 일부지역 초등학생 어머니의 학교급식 친환경농산물에 대한 인식 (Perception of Use of Environment-friendly Agricultural Products during School Foodservice of Mothers of Elementary School Students in Gyeonggi)

  • Objectives: This study was to investigate the perception of mothers of elementary school students regarding environment-friendly agricultural products in school foodservice. Methods: A total of 282 mothers whose children were receiving environment-friendly agricultural products during elementary school foodservice in Gyeonggi participated in this questionnaire survey. The survey was conducted to investigate respondents perception and satisfaction with environment-friendly agricultural products in their children's school meals from May 29 to June 9, 2017. Results: About 79% of the subjects were satisfied with school foodservice. The most important aspects of school foodservice were nutrition (35.8%) and sanitation (34.8%). Over 80% of the subjects were aware of environment-friendly agricultural products and about 54% of the subjects checked for a certification mark when purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products. Additionally, 72.3% of the subjects knew that environment-friendly agricultural products were used at school. The advantages of using environment-friendly agricultural products in school foodservice were safety (75.5%) and high food quality (16.3%). About 66% of the mothers knew the school was receiving support from the city or education office for using environment-friendly agricultural products. Additionally, 74.5% of the mothers responded that they are willing to pay for use of environment-friendly agricultural products when subsidies were not supported. Conclusions: The positive perception and high support for use of environment-friendly agricultural products in school foodservice among elementary students' mothers can be used as basic data for expansion of the use of environment-friendly agricultural products in school foodservice.

  • Probiotics are live microorganisms that confer health benefits to the host when administered in adequate amounts. Although recommendations for probiotic use should be strain-specific, many systematic reviews, including recommendations from different societies, recommend probiotic use in general, providing no relevant information for healthcare professionals regarding which probiotic to recommend for which clinical indication, at what dose, and for how long. This narrative review aimed to present the available evidence on the use of probiotics in the prevention and treatment of common gastrointestinal diseases in children, considering the strain and dose used. Furthermore, this study summarizes the evidence on the possible side effects and quality of products containing probiotics.

The relationship between household income and dietary intakes of 1-10 year old urban Malaysian

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Diet plays an important role in growth and development of children. However, dietary intakes of children living in either rural or urban areas can be influenced by household income. This cross-sectional study examined energy, nutrient and food group intakes of 749 urban children (1-10 years old) by household income status. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Children's dietary intakes were obtained using food recall and record for two days. Diet adequacy was assessed based on recommended intakes of energy and nutrients and food group servings. RESULTS: For toddlers, all nutrients except dietary fiber (5.5 g) exceeded recommended intakes. Among older children (preschoolers and school children), calcium (548 mg, 435 mg) and dietary fiber (7.4 g, 9.4 g) did not meet recommendations while percentage of energy from total fat and saturated fats exceeded 30% and 10%, respectively. The mean sodium intakes of preschoolers (1,684 mg) and school children (2,000 mg) were relatively high. Toddlers in all income groups had similar energy and nutrient intakes and percentages meeting the recommended intakes. However, low income older children had lowest intakes of energy (P < 0.05) and most nutrients (P < 0.05) and highest proportions that did not meet recommended energy and nutrient intakes. For all food groups, except milk and dairy products, all age groups had mean intakes below the recommended servings. Compared to middle and high income groups, low income preschoolers had the lowest mean intake of fruits (0.07 serving), meat/poultry (0.78 serving) and milk/dairy products (1.14 serving) while low income toddlers and school children had the least mean intake of fruits (0.09 serving) and milk/dairy products (0.54 serving), respectively. CONCLUSION: Low socioeconomic status, as indicated by low household income, could limit access to adequate diets, particularly for older children. Parents and caregivers may need dietary guidance to ensure adequate quantity and quality of home food supply and foster healthy eating habits in children.

재귀반사 안전소재를 활용한 아동복 개발에 관한 연구 - 가시성 향상을 위한 적절한 위치 파악을 중심으로 - (Safety Reflectors in Children's Wear - The Proper Position for Improving Visibility -)

  • Children's wear needs extra safety features to avoid unexpected dangers. On the way to school, children are exposed to traffic very often. Especially in the early morning or late evening, or on dark cloudy days, they might be unrecognized by drivers without safety reflectors on their clothing as a means of raising visibility. Therefore, safety reflectors on clothing can protect children from traffic accidents. The research was carried out as follows. 1. Reflector manufacturers were interviewed regarding how Reflective and Reflexite reflect light back to the light source, what kind of safety reflector products are available, and how these materials are being used in the clothing industry. 2. Mothers of primary school children were interviewed to find out what they think about the effect of safety reflectors, the need for clothing using safety reflectors and the design preferences. 3. In order to apply safety reflectors efficiently, the position on the clothing of the greatest visibility from the light source must be determined. 4. Shirts, pants and jumpers for 8-year-old girls and boys were designed as a case study of applying safety reflectors to clothing. The designs were verified through wearing test.

하남시 영유아 보육시설의 식품알레르기 현황 조사 - 100인 미만의 어린이 급식소를 중심으로 - (The Current State of Food Allergy of Preschool Childcare Facilities in Hanam)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate how to manage food allergy of pre-school children, focusing on the current status of the food allergy in childcare facilities in Hanam which have less than 100 children. Methods: Targeting 159 preschool childcare facilities, survey was carried out for a month in March, 2015. Recovery rate was 66.7%. 106 surveys out of 159 were available for analysis using SPSS statistical program version 19.0. Results: Among 106 facilities, 58 (54.7%) reported that none of their children had a food allergy and 48 (45.3%) reported one more children had a food allergy. Total number of children having a food allergy was 71. Among them, the occurrences of food allergy in males were significantly more than that of the females (p<0.001). Further, children under 2 years of age had significantly more food allergy than the other ages (p < 0.001). The allergic inducing foods were nuts (23.3%), egg (17.8%), milk and dairy products (16.4%), fish and shellfish (13.7%), instant foods (12.3%), fruits (8.2%), soybean (4.1%), meat (2.7%), and cereals (1.4%) in order, and 6 children out of 71 were allergic to more than 2 food items. The clinical symptoms of the food allergy were a skin reaction (87.9%) and an oropharyngeal & respiratory reaction (12.1%). Majority of childcare facilities (80.3%) didn't serve alternative foods for children with food allergy. Necessity for food allergy education was significantly higher in facilities with food allergy issues than without such issues. Conclusions: The Center for Children's Foodservice Management need to educate workers of childcare facilities and parents about managing food allergy and enforce a plan to provide alternative menu to children with food allergies.

고무풍선 중 니트로스아민류의 노출평가 연구 (Oral Exposure Assessment of N-Nitrosamines from Rubber Balloons in Korea)

  • Background: N-nitrosamines are carcinogenic substances often found in rubber products. They are produced when certain additives of rubber products react with nitrite in saliva or air. Exposure assessment for the proper management and communication of N-nitrosamines in rubber balloons should be carried out. Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the concentrations of N-nitrosamines in rubber balloons in the South Korean market and assess exposure among Korean children. Methods: Forty eight rubber balloon products in the domestic market were purchased and a total of 68 balloons were analyzed for N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances. Chemical analysis was conducted by HPLC-MS/MS according to the method EN 71-12. For exposure assessment, an exposure algorithm and coefficients were obtained from previous studies. Results: Among the 68 rubber balloons, N-nitrosamines were detected in 18 (26.5%) with an average level of 60.77 ㎍/kg. N-Nitrosatable substances were detected in 44 products (64.7%) with an average level of 1353.33 ㎍/kg. As a result of the exposure evaluation, the exposure dose differed according to how exposure coefficients were applied. The median exposure (50th percentile) was higher in the age group of 6~12 years, and high exposure (95th percentile) was higher in the age group of 13~18. Conclusions: We evaluated the N-nitrosamines contained in rubber balloons purchased in the domestic market and assessed oral exposure among South Korean children. For integrated risk management of N-nitrosamines, further studies and discussion regarding exposure and risk assessment are required.
