아동복 연구(I) -유아의 의복색에 관한여- (A study of children's clothing(Part I) -On color Preference of children's clothing-)

  • The purpose of this study is to search 1) Favorite color preference for clothing 2) Concept development for respective color preference concerned with sex, and 3) concept development for clothing clolr and clothing design. The results are as follows. 1. Liked-color preference for clothing color; female children liked pink, and male children liked blue. 2. Disliked-color preference for colthing female children and male children disliked black color. 3. Boyish color; White, Green, Blue, Black. 4. Girlish color; Yellow red, Pink, Red, Pruple, Yellow. 5. Concept development for clothing color and clothing design; Children aknowledged more the colthing color than the colthing design.

주거지 외부공간에 대한 아동의 의견 및 선호도 분석에 관한 연구 -대구시 초등학교 학생을 중심으로 - (A Study on Analyzation of Opinion and Preference of Children about the Outdoor Environment of Housing in Daegu)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the planning device of outdoor environment of housing area for children. This study was accomplished the analyzation of opinion and preference of 230 children, elementary school students in Daegu. The contents of survey included the general items of children, the characteristics of outdoor activities, and the opinion & preference about outdoor space of housing area. And the survey of children's preference was used the 5 Likert scale. The conclusion of this study are as follows : First, generally, the design guidelines of housing area were provided to adult user, but the guidelines for children are limited at play space and park. So, the design guidelines of housing area must be provided by the children's opinion, pointment, and dissatisfaction. Second, children have the definite opinion and can point the preference about the outdoor space of housing area. So, children's opinion can not be bypassed in the process for planning of housing area. Third, children prefer the outdoor space that was furnished the facilities for convenience of the children's outdoor activities. So, exiting guideline of the outdoor space of housing area must improve to children.

유아의 창의성과 또래놀이행동이 놀이영역 선호에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Children's Creativity and Peer Play Behaviors on Play Area Preference)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 국가 수준의 종단 연구 자료인 한국아동패널 자료를 활용하여 유아가 선호하는 놀이영역을 예측하는 변인들의 관계를 탐색하여 유아의 놀이행동에 대한 이해를 증진시키고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 유아의 성을 통제변인으로 설정하고 창의성과 또래놀이행동이 유아의 놀이영역 선호에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보았다. 본 연구에서 밝힌 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 유아의 성에 따라 창의성, 또래놀이행동, 놀이영역 선호의 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 창의성과 또래놀이행동이 놀이영역 선호에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 쌓기놀이영역 선호집단을 기준으로 할 때 언어영역, 미술영역, 수조작놀이영역, 역할놀이영역 선호에 영향을 미치는 요인은 다르게 나타났다. 본 연구는 유아의 놀이영역 선호에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 탐색하여 유아의 놀이행동을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고 있다는 점에서 시사하는 바가 크다.

A Study on the Factors Related to the Seafood Preference of Elementary School Children

  • This study was undertaken with 237 fifth grade children to investigate the factors, affecting the seafood prefrerence of elementary school children as one of the approaches to find strategies to promote these children's acceptance of seafoods. Subjects for this study were from one public elementary school under meal service located each in Boryeoung-city Chungcheongna Co (coastal area) and Chelowon gen Gangwon do land locked area) The preferences for than those in Boryeong and differences in may items were significant Among four area gender groups girls in Cheolwon had the lowest preference for most seafood items except cephalocoda for which the preference of body in Cheolwon was the lowest Making soup was the least preferred method to cook fish regardless of gender and area, while grilling was the most or the second most preferred in each gender area group Compared to girls bodys had a higher preference for deep frying The seafood preferences of mothers in both areas were similar to those of their children except for processed seafoods which were even more preferred by the children than mothers. Gender, distance from the sea and the method of preparation/cooking seemed to affect the children's preference more than their mother's preference and frequency of serving in the case of seafood. And the effect of gender distance from the sea and cooking methods differed for each seafood category The several suggestions to improve seafood preference especially in land locked area are discussed.

중.고등학교 내 매점에서 판매되는 어린이 기호식품의 현황 및 영양정보에 관한 연구 (A Study on the General and Nutritional Information of Children's Preference Foods Sold in the Middle.High School Stores)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide preliminary data for better safety control over children's preference foods sold in school stores. The survey was conducted from June to July 2009, to collect 749 types of children's preference foods sold in 150 middle and high school stores nation-wide excluding Jeju Island and general and nutrition information were analyzed. Out of 749 types of snack food items, 689 and 602 snacks were sold at high school and middle school stores respectively. Among children's preference foods, cookies, bread, and ice-cream were the main items. Among them, 98% of snacks were domestic products and the price range of each individual snacks were mostly between 600 and 900 won. 27.8% of children's preference foods sold were found to be in the high calorie/low nutrition food group. Even though the proportion of candy and fruit/vegetable beverages sold were not high, their proportion in high calorie/low nutrition snack group were higher than 68.1%. Among the children's preference foods sold in middle and high school stores, carbonated drinks and ramen were continuously sold in certain middle and high schools, even though sales were prohibited. This study concludes that government, corporations and retailers should work together in developing healthier children's snack distribution environment. In addition, dairy products, which take up 15% of children's preference food, should be diversified to meet their nutrient requirements.

임신부의 자녀관 : 성선호와 임신동기 (Pregnant Women's Value of Children: Sex Preference and Pregnancy Motivation)

  • Sex preference and pregnancy motivation are analyzed using the data of 117 pregnant women in Chonju City. The results indicate that women prefer son, regardless of various sociodemographic variables such as pregnancy experience, number of children, women's education, occupation, income, religion, experience, number of children, women's education, occupation, income, religion, and men's education and occupation. Sex preference is statistically significant by women's marital status and age, and children's sex composition. The analysis on 19 pregnancy motivation items shows that pregnancy motivation differs by women's occupation, marital status, number of children, education and their partner's education. Factor analysis on pregnancy motivation items reveals six dimensions for all pregnancy: economic ability, value of child-care, psychological stability, family lineage, old economic dependency are statistically significant dimensions for son preference compared with daughter preference.

Children′s Preferences for the Dishes Offered by School Lunch Programs

  • To evaluate the school lunch program served by elementary schools in Muan, Korea, we examined children's preference for the dishes offered on the menus. School lunch program menus showing the food composition of 400 meals (100 meals in each season) were collected. The serving frequency of each dish on the menus was counted. Eighty-seven representative dishes were selected based on the serving frequency and preference for each dish was determined by a survey of 414 elementary school students who were served by the school lunch program. We also analyzed the nutrient contents of each representative dish. Among the prepared foods, children indicated the highest preference for desserts. Steamed rice was served more frequently as a main course than one dish meals, although children preferred one dish meals to steamed rice. Among side dishes, those that were deep-fried were the most preferred. Children indicated high preference for fruits, milk, and eggs, and low preference for fish and clams, vegetables, and beans. The serving frequency with which main courses, soups, and side dishes were served showed no correlation with children's preference for each. Preference for dishes correlated positively with nutrient contents of calories and lipids, but negatively with nutrient contents of fiber, calcium and vitamin A. According to these results we can suggest that dietitian should consider children's preference into greater consideration to increase menu acceptability and thereby reduce waste. Children need to be educated about the roles and contents of nutrients in food and the fact that preference for foods affects nutrient intake.

대전지역 급식학교 초등학생들의 음식 기호도 (Food Preference of Elementary School Children Under Meal Service in Taejon)

  • This study was done to provide basic information for nutrition education and meal planning by analyzing children's food preference. For this purpose, 938 children from eleven elementary schools under meal service were randomly selected in Taejon. The survey was conducted by questionnaires, and data were analyzed by SAS program. Children prefered ssalbap to japkogbap and liked kimbap the best among one dish foods. But their most favorite foods were chajangmyun in noodles, miyeokkuk in soups, and chamchichigae in pot stew. Sixth graders like kimchichigae more than third graders. In the case of chims, children like duejigalbichim, sogalbichim, and dalgyalchim. In the jorim, they prefered duejigogi jangjorim, mechurial jangjorim to any other jorims. The preference of bockum, namul, jangachi, and jotgal is generally low. Children's preference is high in fruit, drink, fried food, one dish food and is low in jangachi, namul, bockum. These results suggest that the preference of foods should be fully taken into consideration in school meal service so that they can eat foods with pleasure. Foods, which are low in preference due to the cooking method, should be prepared with new cooking methods developed specifically for children. 'Even though the preference of food is low to the children, the nutritious foods should be utilized in the school menu. Then, the importance of food intake must be taught to them through nutrition education.

유아 대상의 오감을 활용한 채소 선호도 증진 프로그램의 개발 및 효과 평가 (Development and Performance Evaluation of Education Program to increase Children's Preference for Vegetables through Five Senses)

  • This study developed a vegetable preference increase program that can be applied at the Center for Children's Foodservice Management (CCFM) for children in child-care facilities and kindergarten and the training performance was evaluated by 192 5-year old children. Teachers considered 'disliked food' ($3.23{\pm}0.85/out$ of 5) as the most serious nutritional problem and typical disliked food was 'vegetables' (54.2%). Based on this finding, to increase the preference for vegetables, a five-phase education program was developed. In this program, each phase was composed of activities to increase children's interest in vegetables by using each sense out of the five senses. Center dieticians had visited and conducted the program in 12 facilities. By using an illustration assessment tool, the training performance was evaluated by comparing the children's knowledge level and their preference changes in vegetables. Consequently, as examined by 10 questions on the knowledge of vegetables, trained children's (in total 192) knowledge of vegetables had considerably increased (p<0.01, p<0.001), and their preference for 15 out of the 16 vegetables, except for carrots, also showed a considerable preference increase after the training (p<0.01, p<0.001). Therefore, this program is considered to have contributed to reducing disliked vegetable eating behaviors.

거주지역에 따른 유아의 기호도 조사 (Assessment of preschool children`s food preference according to the residing areas)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the preference trend of children in the child-care centers in relation to certain environmental factors such as size of the residing town. This evaluation was conducted using questionnaire survey where the mother of each child was required to complete a preference questionnaire including 83 food items. Statistical data analysis was completed using SAS package program. The results of this survey showed the followings : 1. Generally, the preference level of the children living in large cities were higher than of medium cities except in case of vegetables, while the preference level of the children living in large cities were higher than those of rural area except in case of hard-boiling(jorim) and vegetables. The subjects showed high preferences to bulgogi(4.53), pork-cutlet(4.52), fried chicken(4.51), jajangmyone(4.45), kimgui(4.43), roasted fish(4.31), roasted ham(4.13). 2. There was a tendency that a la carte, bread and noodles received higher preference scores. Items of Korean style soup attained higher preference scores than stew(ggigae). The preference scores of fired, broiled or pan-fried items(jun) were higher than those of other items such as seasoned vegetables(namool). 3. The preference scores of children (routinely or occasionally) skipping breakfast or supper were generally low. There was no significant difference according to the existence of mother's job except in case of steamed or pan-fried items, provided that the preference scores of the size of the monthly income of the household except stew, provide that the preference scores of the children whose household had lower income were slightly higher in general.
