어린이집 교사의 직무 스트레스와 효능감이 교사 행동의 질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Teachers' Job Stress and Belief of Efficacy on the Quality of Teachers' Interaction Behaviors in Child Care)

  • Data were collected from 120 teachers at 67 childcare centers in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do. The Assessment Scale for Day Care Programs(Rhee et ai., 2003) was used to observe teachers' interaction behaviors. Subjects responded to the teachers' job stress scale developed by the author and a modified version of teachers' efficacy scale based on the Science Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument(Enochs & Riggs, 1990). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations, and hierarchical regressions. Results showed that quality of teachers' interaction behaviors correlated negatively with teachers' job stress, and positively with teachers' personal efficacy; teachers' belief of efficacy moderated the relationship between job stress and teachers' interaction behaviors.

어머니의 자녀양육에 대한 사회적 관계망과 양육곤란도 지각과의 관계 (Relationships between Maternal support network and perceptions of parenting task difficulty)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe maternal social networks and to examine their relationships to maternal perceptions of parenting task difficulty. One hundred and thirty-three mothers of preschool children responded to a questionnaire indicating individuals in their networks, support functions, and perceptions of task difficulty. Mothers reported an average of 6.5 persons in their networks, including primarily with her own mother, the husband, mother-in-law, and sisters. While support was provided mainly by her husband and her own family members, the kinds of support varied depending on the person in networks. It was also found that support functions were different in terms of maternal job status, sex of the child, and the child's previous experience in day care or early childhood education settings. Emotional support from networks was significantly related to parenting task difficulty, especially in daily routine care. Mothers who perceived more emotional support from networks reported parenting to be less difficult.

보육과정에서의 자유놀이 현황과 교사의 놀이인식 (Free Play Activities in the Curricula of Childcare Centers and Teachers' Perceptions of Play)

  • This study dealt with free play activities in the curricula of childcare centers in Daejeon area. 29 teachers from 21 day care centers were interviewed individually to obtain an understanding of teachers perceptions and conflicting views about play activity in the context of different day care curricula. The data were analysed qualitatively, using categorization and key word classification, frequency analyses and chi-squared tests. The results were as follows: (1) play-oriented curricula included sufficient play time and planned play activities in terms of the children's development. Children's freedom in play, optimum intercession by teachers, and interrelating activities between activity areas were included. In mixed curricula, children's freedoms were limited in many cases, and interrelating play between activity areas was hardly found. Formal lesson-oriented curricula resulted unplanned play activities and teachers' passive intercession of play. (2) Most teachers believed that play activities were more important to a child's development than formal lessons.

아동양육시설에서 성장한 부부의 자녀양육 경험에 관한 질적 사례연구 (A Qualitative Case Study on the Child-rearing Experiences of a Couple who was Raised in a Child Care Institution)

  • 본 연구는 어린 시절 부모와 헤어져 시설에 맡겨진 채 시설보호 양육을 받으며 성장한 부부가 자녀를 낳고 부모가 되어 자녀를 양육하는 경험을 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 같은 시설에서 성장한 후 결혼한 부부를 연구 참여자로 선정하여 남편과 아내를 각각 심층 인터뷰하였다. 연구 방법은 질적 사례연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 '지독한 외로움의 보상으로 꾸린 가족', '준비 없이 시작된 출산 그리고 자녀 양육의 늪', '마주한 실체 그리고 후회와 반성', '그래도 부모라는 책임감으로 다시 얻은 용기'와 같이 도출하였다. 어린 시절 아동양육시설에서 자란 부부는 혼자라는 지독한 외로움을 벗어나기 위해 아무런 준비 없이 막연한 환상을 갖고 결혼을 하였다. 결혼이 그랬듯 자녀 출산 또한 계획 없이 생기는 대로 낳았다. 그러나 막상 어떠한 정보나 교육 없이 부딪히게 되는 자녀 양육은 어렵고 점점 지쳐만 갔다. 그러다 아이를 어린이집에 보내면서 자신의 부정적인 모습을 똑 닮은 자녀의 실체를 마주하고 뒤늦은 후회와 반성을 하게 된다. 부부는 비록 자신들은 부모의 양육을 받고 자라지 못했지만, 부모로서의 책임감을 깊게 느끼고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 시설에서 성장한 부부의 자녀양육을 돕기 위한 사회복지적 개입방안을 제언하였다.

유아교사의 애착히스토리가 유아-교사관계에 미치는 영향: 교사의 심리적 안녕감의 매개효과 검증 (Teachers' Attachment History and Child-Teacher Relationships in Early Childhood Education Settings: Examining Mediating Effect of Teachers' Psychological Well-Being)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effects of teachers' psychological well-being between teachers' attachment history and child-teacher relationships. The participants of this survey were 342 teachers from 41 day care centers and 11 kindergartens in four metropolitan cities and five provinces in Korea. The collected data were analysed through frequency and percentage calculation, Pearson's correlations, and the mediation methods suggested by Baron & Kenny(1986) were calculated by using SPSS 21.0. The findings are as follows. First, the percentage points of the attachment history of early childhood, the teachers' psychological well-being and the child-teacher relationship were higher than the average. Also, all the variables had correlations. Second, the teachers' psychological well-being partly mediated the relations between attachment history and child-teacher relationships. These results imply that teachers' psychological well-being is needed for positive child-teacher relationships, and can provide policy implications for teachers' psychological well-being in order to improve the quality of child-teacher relationships.

감성이미지를 도입한 어린이집 실내계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Interiors for Day-care-center Based on Emotional Design)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the problems that a current day care center has by analyzing the space arrangement, and to come up with the suggestion that would improve the arrangement along with the interior design of the day care center by studying the usage of materials, colors, lightings and furniture. The result of this study to follow problems were identified. 1. Classrooms also served as sleeping areas, therefore those two areas needed to be separated. 2. The kitchen was too small for the number of children. So they need separated kitchen and dining room. 3. The day care center remodeled from the ordinary house was wrose than other facilities in material, color pattern and design for child-care. 4. A lot of fluorescent light and bulb were used without enough windows to let natural sunlight in. 5. The restroom was so small that it caused uncomfortability to children. Based on the problems above, we could reach to a following conclusion. Use of primary colors could brighten the image of a room, and feature or creative arrangement of furniture may make it intriguing. With the increase in the expectation and attention to the young kids, the facilities should change according to them and be designed for the children. It is needed to study about whether the space and the elements of the emotional image were applied properly.

어린이집의 교사전문성 지원환경이 초임교사의 전문성 인식에 미치는 영향: 직무수행동기의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effects of a Professional Learning Environment at a Day Care Center on the Professionalism of Beginning Teachers: Focusing on the Mediating Role of Their Work Task Motivation)

  • Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of a teacher professional learning environment at workplace day care centers on the professionalism of beginning teachers and also to verify the mediating effects of the beginning teachers'work task motivation on that relationship. Methods: The participants were 129 new teachers currently employed at workplace day care centers. The Current Status for Professional Competence was used to measure the teachers' professionalism. The Professional Learning Environment Inventory assesses the professional learning environment of day care centers. To measure the work task motivation, the Work Tasks Motivation Scale for Teachers was used. Results: Firstly, positive relationships were identified between a professional learning environment and their intrinsic motivation and identified motivation. However, there were also negative relationships between the professional learning environment and their introjected motivation and amotivation. Secondly, this study partially verified the mediating effects of the beginning teachers'work task motivation on the relationship between the professional learning environment and teachers' professionalism. Conclusion/Implications: The relationship between the professional learning environment and the professionalism of beginning teachers was mediated by the teachers'own intrinsic motivations, identified motivations, and amotivation.

영유아 교육시설에서의 실내공기질 평가 (The Evaluation of Air Quality in Educational Child Care Centers)

  • It is indispensable for child care centers to investigate and manage indoor air quality (IAQ) because they perform education and day care for children who usually have weak immunity. Nevertheless, there is insufficient research being done, given its importance. This study aims to investigate indoor pollutants' concentration and to seek the causes in order to improve the air quality conditions. Also it aims to secure data which can be used for further researches. Measurements were performed for air temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, fine particle mass, formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds. Temperature, humidity, CO and CO2 were measured 30times(1min/time) and PM10 was measured 10times (3min/time). Formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds were measured and analyzed based on The Indoor Air Quality Official Test Method. The results show that the temperatures were within the comfort zone in over half of the centers. CO2 was found to be the main pollutants as its concentration exceeded the IAQ standard. The concentrations of TVOC and PM10 exceeded the standard, by 32% and 24% respectively, whereas those of HCHO and CO were under the standard. HCHO and CO concentrations were under the guideline. 24% of child care centers for education were found to exceed the standard in 2 or more of the pollutants. 82% of were found to exceed the standard by 1 or more. Therefor it is requested for IAQ to manage and improve in child care center for education.

어린이의 거친 신체 놀이와 사회적 능력 연구 (Rough-and-Tumble Play and Social Competence in Preschool Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe relations between the rough-and-tumble play of preschoolers and their social competence. The subjects were 61 4-year-olds and 59 5-year-olds. Children were observed on a day care center playground during free play time. Teachers were asked to rate the children's social competence. The results indicated that the incidence of rough-and-tumble play varied according to the sex of the child and the physical environment of the playground. Children's rough-and-tumble play was negatively correlated with measures of social competence.

장애 유아 통합보육을 위한 교사 지원이 어린이집 교사의 교사 효능감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Teacher Support Program for the Integration of Handicapped Children on Teaching Efficacy of Daycare Center Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 장애 유아 통합보육을 위한 교사 지원이 어린이집 교사의 교사 효능감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구에는 서울과 경기 지역 4개 어린이집 12명의 어린이집 교사가 실험 집단에 선정되었고, 5개 어린이집 12명의 교사가 통제 집단에 선정되었다. 교사 지원은 교사 교육과 현장 관찰 및 자문, 온라인 자문을 통해 실시되었다. 교사 교육은 집단 교육을 통해 발달 영역의 이해, 교육과정 수정, 활동중심삽입교수, 협동 학습, 직접 교수, 장애 이해 교육, 행동 지원, 가족 지원 등에 대한 교육을 실시하고, 개별 교육을 통해 각 교사들의 장애유아 통합보육의 요구를 반영한 장애유아 보육의 실제에 대한 교육을 실시하고 자문을 제공하였다. 실험집단 어린이집 당 10회씩 현장 관찰 및 자문을 실시하였고, 이메일과 핸드폰 자문을 통해 교사들의 수업을 지원 하였다. 교사의 교사 효능감 변화를 측정하기 위해 사전-사후 검사 통제 집단 설계를 적용하였으며, 장애 통합에 대한 일반 교사의 교사 효능감 척도(Teachers' Efficacy in Inclusive Practices: TEIP)로 사전-사후 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과의 분석을 위해 두 집단 간 교사 효능감의 사전-사후 검사 간 차에 대해 두 독립표본 t 검정을 실시하였고, 결과 두 집단 간 교사 효능감과 하위 영역인 통합교육 효능감, 협력 효능감, 행동관리 효능감의 사전 사후 변화에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 본 연구에서 장애 유아 통합보육 현장에서 즉각적인 피드백을 제공하고, 어린이집 교사들의 통합보육 전문성을 향상시키고, 교사들의 실제적 요구에 반응적이고, 장애 유아 통합의 다양한 변인을 반영하고, 참여자들 간의 대등한 협력적 관계를 강조한 교사 지원을 제공한 점이 연구 결과에 긍정적 영향을 주었다. 본 연구 결과는 장애 유아 통합보육 지원에 대한 연구가 부족한 현장의 실질적인 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
