Viability of Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer Embryos following Embryo Transfer in Korean Native Striped Cattle (Bos namadicus Falconer, Chikso)

  • This study was conducted to examine the viability of Korean native striped cattle (Bos namadicus Falconer, Chikso) clone embryos after embryo transfer. Chikso somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos were produced by fusion of ear skin cells derived from a female Chikso with enucleated oocytes matured in vitro for 18-24 hr. After in vitro culture of SCNT embryos for 7 to 8 days, fresh or vitrified blastocysts derived from SCNT were transferred into a uterine horn of recipient cows. Fifteen of total 43 recipients were pregnant at Day 50 and 4 recipients were maintained to term. Three IVF-derived calves and 1 clone Chikso calf were born. Pregnancy rate was higher when fresh embryos were transferred to recipients compared to vitrified embryos, but development to term was not different between both groups. The clone Chikso calf died at 5 days after birth due to the fullness of amniotic fluid in rumen and the infection of umbilical cord. The result of the present study shows that clone Chikso calf can produced from the embryo transfer of SCNT embryos, however, solution of abortion problem is necessary to improve the cloning efficiency.

In this study, 2 axles fatigue testing machine did a design and Development. a new JIG developed to realize a mixed mode. a stress state in mixed mode of a specimen had each other comparison using the Finite element method to examine propriety of a new JIG.

대학문화정착을 위한 대학생의 생활문화비교분석 -지방대학 대학생의 통학유형을 중심으로 - (A Comparative Analysis on the Living Culture of Undergraduate Students for Establishment of University Culture - Focused on the Commuting Patterns -)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the living cultures among three types of undergraduate students, grouped by commuting patterns, attending universities in Chung-Cheong Do: a long-distance type, a short-distance type, and a living-alone type. The survey was performed with questionnaires and the subjects were 1167 undergraduate students. The results are as follows: for a long-distance type, the levels of housing environments and consumption expenditures were relatively high, but the students felt constrainted by the commuting time. For a short-distance type, the consensus in decision-making with parents and the degree of conflict reconciliation were the lowest. For a living-alone type, the levels of housing environments and consumption expenditures were relatively poorer, but the students spent relative]y more time at school and the attitudes of school and department which they belong to were relatively higher.

Rapid climate change during the deglaciation of Lake Hovsgol, Mongolia

  • A 120-cm core recovered from Lake Hovsgol, the northern Mongolia provides evidence for climate variability since the Marine Isotope Stage 3, representing a sharp lithological change. The lowermost part of the core consists of diatom-barren calcareous silty clay without coarse sands, framboidal pyrite, and biogenic components deposited during the MIS 3. Following the last glacial maximum, in-situ moss is included in the sediments, as lake-level was retreated by cold and dry environment with low precipitation. The AMS radiocarbon ages of the plant fragments match a marked lithologic boundary between 14,060 and 14,325 $^{14}C$ yr BP. The contents of coarse sands abruptly increase, indicating probably wind-derived sandy dust or coarse grains contributed from floating icebergs. And abundant framboidal pyrite grains were deposited in an anoxic environment, as reflected by high accumulation of organic matters at a low lake stand. During the deglaciation, quantities of coarse sands, ostracod, shell fragments, framboidal pyrite, and diatom markedly varies by regional and global scale climate regimes. Some allochthonous coarse sands were probably ice-rafted debris derived from floating icebergs. A rapid increase in diatom productivity probably marked the onset of Bolling-Allerodwarming. Subsequent high concentration of framboidal pyrite probably represents a dry and cold condition, such as Younger Drays events. Consistent warm period with high precipitation at Holocene is documented by diatomaceous clayey ooze without framboidal pyrite, coarse sands, and ostracod.

C-모델 시뮬레이터 기반 H.264/SVC 복호기 시스템 구현 (Implementation of H.264/SVC Decoder System based on C-Model Simulator)

  • 본 논문에서는 SoC 칩 개발을 위한 하드웨어 구조와 회로개발을 지원하기 위한 C-모델 시뮬레이터를 사용해서 임베디드 시스템 기반의 H.264/SVC 복호기 회로를 설계하고 시스템을 구현한다. 제시된 SVC 복호기 시스템은 H.264/SVC 표준규격의 기능들을 처리하기 위한 하드웨어 엔진의 설계와 ARM 프로세서를 이용한 소프트웨어 등으로 구성되어 있다. 본 논문에서 구현한 복호기는 SVC의 스케일러블 베이스 라인 프로파일을 기반으로 설계의 용이함을 위하여 B-픽처 구조를 사용하지 않는 IPPP 구조에 의한 스케일러블 만을 고려해 실용성을 증가시켰다. 설계한 H.264/SVC 복호기 시스템의 영상복호 결과를 제시한다.

Molecular Modeling and its Experimental Verification for the Catalytic Mechanism of Candida antarctica Lipase B

  • Quantum mechanical and molecular dynamics simulation analysis has been performed on the model system for CALB (Candida antarctica lipase B) with esters to study the reaction mechanism and conformational preference of catalytic hydrolysis and the esterification reaction. Using quantum mechanical analysis, the ping-pong bi-bi mechanism was applied and energies and 3-dimensional binding configurations of the whole reaction pathways were calculated. Further molecular dynamics simulation analysis was performed on the basis of the transition state obtained from quantum mechanical study to observe the effect of structures of the substrates. Calculation results using substrates of different chain length and chiral configurations were compared for conformational preference. The calculated results showed very small influence on chain length, whereas chiral conformation showed big differences. Calculated results from molecular modeling studies have been compared qualitatively with the experimental data using racemic mixtures of (${\pm}$)-cis-4-acetamido-cyclopent-2-ene-1-ethyl acetate as substrates.

전류 도입선용 고온 초전도 선재 제작에 관한 연구 (A study on fabrication of Bi-2223 tape for current lead)

  • Current lead plays the part of connector between ambient temperature and liquid helium superconducting magnet. Having zero resistance characteristic, it is expected that HTS has very low thermal conductivity and generate no joule heat when fabricated to current lead. In particular, among the HTS meterials, HTS tape has high Jc and Ag-sheath of tape plays the part of stabilizer, but it has too poor mechanical strength to be applied and when fabricated as long length tape, it has tendency to decline Jc seriously. In this study, we fabricated Bi-2223 multifilamentary tapes and then made current lead with stacking type using them. Through this work, we conclude that the defect of HTS long length tape is decreased by addition the number of stacking tape and that current lead is able to operate more stably by minimizing the gap of tapes.

  • A study was made to examine the electrical, compositional, structural and morphological properties of Ag thin films deposited by DC magnetron sputtering in $O_2$ atmosphere with deposition temperature from room temperature to 15$0^{\circ}C$ using in-line sputter system. The Ag films deposited at temperature above $100^{\circ}C$ in oxygen atmosphere gave a similar specific resistivity to and even lower oxygen content than those deposited using pure Ar sputter gas The Ag films deposited with pure Ar gas was mainly composed of crystallites with [111] preferred orientation, while, for those deposited in oxygen atmosphere, more than 50% of the volume was composed of crystallites with [100] orientation. The difference in the micro structure did not cause any difference in the specific resistivity of Ag films. The results showed that the transparent conducting oxide films and the Ag films could be processed sequentially in the same deposition chamber with careful control of deposition temperature, which might result in a cost reduction for constructing the large scale in-line deposition system.

A survey on the incidence rate of foot diseases in dairy cattle

  • This study was carried out to investigate the status of hoof diseases and to develope treatment method for cattle with hoof diseases during the period of January to December in 2000. Out of 435 heads, 34 heads(7.8%) had hoof diseases. In respect to season, incidence rate was higher in August to September than that of other seasons. The incidence rates of hoof rot, pododermatitis verrucosae, laminitis, other cases and trauma were 14 cases(41%), 10 cases (29%), 7 cases(21%), 2 cases(6%) and 1 case(3%), respectively. In respect to age and milk production, Incidence rate was higher in the cattle with high milk production. Incidence rate of hoof diseases on the hind-limbs was higher than that of the fore-limbs. E. coli(8 strains), Clostridium spp(8 strains), Staphylococcus spp(6 strains), Fusobacterium spp(6 strains), and Bacteroides spp(6 strains) were isolated from the hoof lesions. All isolates were sensitive to composite preparation made of mainly formalin with picric acid and phenol. (Treatment against each strains isolated was sensitive to composite preparation made out of the main constitutions of formalin with picric acid and phenol).

단거리전용통신방식 노변기지국의 예비부품수 및 교체시기 산정 (The estimation of the number of spare parts & the changing time about DSRC Road Side Equipment)

  • 현재 국내 ITS는 현장장비 유지관리에 대한 연구 및 고장관련 DB가 부족하여 예비부품수 및 교체시기 산정에 대한 규정이 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 실제 고장이력자료를 갖고 신뢰성 분석을 실시하여 단거리전용통신(DSRC)방식 노변기지국(RSE)의 예비부품수 및 교체시기를 산정하였다. 전체 수집기간동안의 고장자료는 욕조곡선의 형상을 나타내어 우발고장기간의 자료로 신뢰성 분석을 실시하였으나 고장 수명 분포 중 적합되는 분포가 없었다. 따라서, i)장비가동률과 ii)경험적(empirical) 누적분포함수(CDF) 곡선을 이용한 장비의 고장률(건/일)을 감안하여 예비부품수를 산정한 결과 16.22개 이상의 노변기지국(완제품)을 확보하여야 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 하자보수기간(2년)이 지난후 일정기간($2{\sim}3$년)이 지난 시점에서 향후 10년간에 대하여 수리하면서 사용하는 경우와 신품구입시의 총비용을 비교하여 산정한 교체시기는 10.67건/40개월 이상이다. 본 연구 수행결과 첫째, 비모수적 방법으로 적합도 검정을 실시하지 못하였다는 한계와, 둘째, 초기에 고장이 많이 발생하는 장비는 향후에도 고장이 많이 발생한다는 가정에 기반하여 향후 10년의 운영비용을 분석하였으나 이러한 가정을 입증하지는 못하였다. 따라서, 향후엔 본 연구에 사용된 자료가 고장 수명분포도 적합 되지 않은 원인을 분석하는 것과 분석대상 기간 이후의 자료를 추가하여 적합도 검정 및 신뢰성 분석을 실시하는 것이 필요하다.
