Design and Implementation of Distributed Charge Signal Processing Software for Smart Slow and Quick Electric Vehicle Charge

  • As environmental pollution and fossil fuel energy problems from fuel vehicle have occurred, the interest of electric vehicle(EV) has increased. EV industry and energy industry have grown dynamically in these days. It is expected that the next generation of primary transportation will be EV, and it is necessary to prepare EV infra and efficient energy management such as EV communication protocol, EV charge station, and smart grid. Those EV and energy industry fields are now on growth. Also, the study and development of them are now in progress. In this paper, distributed charge signal processing software for smart slow and quick EV charge is proposed and designed for dealing with EV charge demand. The software consists of smart slow and quick EV charge schedule engine and EV charge power distribution core. The software is designed to support two charge station types. One is normal EV charge station and the other is bus garage EV charge station. Both two types collect the data from EV charge stations, and then analyze the collected data. The software suggests optimized EV charge schedule and deliveries EV charge power distribution information to power switchboard system, and the designed software is implemented on embedded system. It is expected that the software provides efficient EV charge schedule.

LPG-DME 성층혼합 압축착화 엔진 (LPG-DME Stratified Charge Compression Ignition Engine)

  • The combustion characteristics of a liquefied petroleum gas-di-methyl ether (LPG-DME) compression ignition engine was investigated under homogeneous charge and stratified charge conditions. LPG was used as the main fuel and injected into the combustion chamber directly. DME was used as an ignition promoter and injected into the intake port. Different LPG injection timings were tested to verify the combustion characteristics of the LPG-DME compression ignition engine. The combustion was divided into three region which are homogeneous charge, stratified charge, and diffusion flame region according to the injection timing of LPG. The hydrocarbon emission of stratified charge combustion was lower than that of homogeneous charge combustion. However, the carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide emission of stratified charge combustion were slightly higher than those of the homogeneous charge region. The indicated mean effective pressure was reduced at stratified charge region, while it was almost same level as the homogeneous charge combustion region at diffusion combustion region. The start of combustion timing of the stratified charge combustion and diffusion combustion region were advanced compared to the homogeneous charge combustion. It attributed to the higher cetane number and mixture temperature distribution which locally stratified. However, the knock intensity was varied as the homogeneity of charge was increased.

저밀도 폴리에틸렌의 전하축적 특성 (Charge Accunmulation Characteristics in LDPE)

  • Charge accumulation characteristics in low density polyethylene (LDPE) has been discussed based upon the internal charge distrubution measured by the pulsed electroacoustic technique. When the negative voltage with respect to earth is applied to the upper electrode, the negative charges near the anode and the positive charges near the cathode are accumulated in LDPE. Also, there was an asymmetric behavior of charge accumulation exhibiting that the charge accumulation near the anode keeps increasing whereas that near the cathode increases first and then decreases. Besides, under the present test conditions the internal charge distrubution becomes stabilized eventually. When the positive voltage with respect to earth is applied to the upper electrode, on the other hand, no such asymmetric charge accumulation was found. Therefore, it can be concluded that the heterocharges are accumulated at the surface region of LDPE subjected to high do voltages and that the begavior of charge accumulation depends on the polarity of do voltage and the position of charge accumulation.

Charge Determination of Humic Acid and Humic Extract by Spectrophotometry

  • The charge densities of humic acid and humic extract have been determined by back titration using spectrophotometry as the method of end point detection and several cationic polymers of different charge density(copolymers of acylamide and dimethylaminoethylacrylate and polydiallyidimethylammonium chloride, PDDA), and a cationic indicator o-toluidine blue(o-Tb). The charge densities of humic acid and humic extract obtained depend on the charge densities of cationic polymers used. When the polymers of lower charge density are used, lower apparent charge density values are obtained, but for polymers of high charge density(above 2.5 meq/g), the measured values are almost identical, but also are nearly the same as that obtained for PDDA which has a high charge density(about 6 meq/g). For polymers of lower charge density, it is considered that the optimum dosage does not correspond to 1 :1 charge neutralization between anionic and cationic groups. Polymers of high charge density should be used in order to achieve a complete charge neutralization. As humic acid and humic extract are dissociable acids, their ionization is heavily pH dependent and so higher charge density values are obtaines with increasing pH.

  • This paper investigates characteristics of spiral charge for charge simulation method to calculate electric fields of spiral conductor bundles with spiral rods in 765 kV transmission line. We finds the simulating spiral charge as constant charge density give less potential calculation error than sinusoidal charge density. When a spiral rod is simulated as spiral charge, we also knows two spiral charge can simulate spiral rod best.

Improved Slow Charge Scheme for non-communication Electric Vehiclesby Predicting Charge Demand

  • Recently, the study and development of environment-friendly energy technique have increased in worldwide due to environmental pollution and energy resources problems. In vehicle industry, the development of electric vehicle(EV) is now on progress, and also, many other governments support the study and development and make an effort for EV to become widely available. In addition, though they strive to construct the EV infra such as a charge station for EV, the techniques related to managing charge demand and peak power are not enough. The standard of EV communication has been already established as ISO/IEC 15118, however, most of implemented EVs and EV charge stations do not support any communication between each of them. In this paper, an improved slow charge scheme for non-communication EVs is proposed and designed by using predicting charge demand. The proposed scheme consists of distributed charge model and charge demand prediction. The distributed charge model is designed to manage to distribute charge power depending on available charge power and charge demand. The charge demand prediction is designed to be used in the distributed charge model. The proposed scheme is based on the collected data which were from EV slow charge station in business building during the past 1 year. The system-level simulation results show that the waiting time of EV and the charge fee of the proposed scheme are better than those of the conventional scheme.

전하 재활용과 전하 공유를 이용한 저전력 롬 (A Low Power ROM using Charge Recycling and Charge Sharing)

  • 메모리에서의 대부분의 전력은 프리디코더 라인, 워드 라인, 그리고 비트 라인 등과 같은 커패시턴스가 큰 라인들에서 소모된다. 이 라인들에서의 전력 소모를 줄이기 위하여 전하 재활용과 전하 공유를 사용한 세 가지 기법들이 제안되었다. 이 기법들은 전하 재활용 프리디코더(charge recycling predecoder, CRPD), 전하 재활용 워드 라인 디코더(charge recycling word line decoder, CRWD), 그리고 롬을 위한 전하 공유 비트 라인(charge sharing bit line, CSBL)이다. CRPD와 CRWD는 프리디코더 라인과 워드 라인의 전하를 재활용하여 소모 전력을 반으로 줄여주고, 전하 공유 기법을 사용하는 CSBL은 롬 비트라인의 스윙 전압을 낮춤으로써 소모 전력을 크게 줄여준다. CRPD, CRWD, 그리고 CSBL의 소모 전력은 기존의 82%, 72%, 그리고 64%이다. 제안된 세 가지 기법들을 사용하는 전하 재활용 전하 공유 롬(charge recycling and charge sharing ROM, CRCS-ROM)이 0.35㎛ CMOS공정으로 제작되었다. 제작된 8K×16비트 CRCS-ROM의 코어 크기는 0.51㎟이고 3.3V 전원과 100㎒ 동작 주파수에서 8.63㎽ 을 소모하였다.

전기설비용 polyethylene terephthalate의 electret 특성연구 (Electret Characteristics of polyethylene terephthalate for electret installation)

  • 표면전위측정 수단을 이용하여 polyethylene terephthalate의 electret 구조를 해명하는 실험을 하였다. 시료에 전극을 증착하므로서 내부의 전하생성과 감쇠를 관측하였다. electret 의 기구에는 hetero charge 와 home charge가 공존하고 있으며 model로 2전하이론을 기반으로 연구하였는데 hetero charge는 쌍극자와 내부의 이온 변위로 되고 hetero charge를 형성하는 것은 외부에서 주입된 전하라고 생각된다.

에어로졸 중화기의 나노 입자 하전 특성 (Nano Particle Charging Characteristics of Aerosol Charge Neutralizers)

  • Aerosol charge neutralizers with various radioactive sources have been used to apply an equilibrium charge distribution to aerosols of unknown charge distribution. However, the performance of aerosol charge neutralizers is not well known, especially for highly charged particles. Measurements of highly charged particles are needed in air cleaning devices, e.g. electrostatic precipitator, bag filter with a pre-charger, and electrical cyclone. In this study, the particle charging characteristics of two different aerosol charge neutralizers were experimentally investigated for singly charged monodisperse particles and highly charged polydisperse particles. One has radioactive source of $^{85}$ Kr (beta source, 2 mCi) and the other has $^{210}$ Po (alpha source, 0,5 mCi). The air flow rate passing through each aerosol charge neutralizer was changed from 0.2 to 2.5 L/min. The results show that the charge distribution of singly charged monodisperse particles passing through the $^{85}$ Kr aerosol charge neutralizer is well agreed with the Boltzmann equilibrium charge distribution at an air flow rate of 0.3 L/min, However, it deviates from the equilibrium charge distribution when the air flow rates are 0.6, 1,0, and 1,5 L/min, On the other hands, the effect of air flow rate is insignificant for the $^{210}$ Po aerosol charge neutralizer. The non-equilibrium character in charge distribution of highly charged polydisperse particles passing through the $^{85}$ Kr aerosol charge neutralizer greatly depends on the air flow rate, however it is insensitive to the air flow rate for the $^{210}$ Po aerosol charge neutralizer.

  • Charge-pump loop filter was designed using GaAs MESFET for GHz-range PLL system applications. Characteristics of charge-pump loop filter and stability of charge-pump PLL, system were analyzed. Performance specifications were defined and a charge-pump loop filter was designed that satisfies these specifications.
