Maker education has recently been actively practiced under strong governmental support as a nation-wide policy for innovative education, which now had to confront the unexpected challenge and crisis of 'contactless educational environments' due to COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, this study aimed to develop a checklist needed for developing 'contactless maker education program' which still continues to maintain 'maker mindsets' as the goal and direction of maker education, since maker education has been regarded as an alternative educational environment suitable for the 4th industrial revolution age. For this purpose, this study first conducted literature review related to maker education and contactless (i.e. online) education environments, from which several characteristics of the contactless maker education have been extracted. And then, 5 maker education instructors currently conducting the contactless maker education programs in various settings provided feedback on the developed checklist draft, which actually became the final version of the checklist. Considering the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the checklist for the contactless Maker education might be helpful in preventing to diminish or reduce the educational values and active application of maker education.
This study explored middle and high school students' learning experiences using e-textbooks in online learning courses. Data were collected from in-depth interviews. The interviewees for this study were 19 students who enrolled voluntarily in an online mathematics and science inquiry program, actively participated in the online learning. The students generally have high academic achievement and motivation for learning in science and mathematics. Data were analyzed based on a grounded theory approach. As a result, the characteristics of the online learning environment using e-textbooks were conceptualized via three different categories including temporal, spatial, and technical. Such characteristics of the learning environment were able to provoke self-directed learning, extended learning, interactive learning, in-depth learning, improved ICT literacy, and formation of positive emotions and learning habits. Most of the learners showed positive feedback towards the use of e-textbooks, while some mentioned the technical limitations compared to conventional paper-based learning. This study suggested that e-textbooks are likely to induce positive experiences for learners in the context of online learning, so it is necessary to design contents that utilize various functions and advantages of electronic teaching materials in order to use e-textbooks effectively.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution foreshadows radical changes in our lives. In the era of the fourth industrial revolution called the digital revolution, individualized learning based on ubiquitous learning is emphasized. The contents of learning will be centered on procedural knowledge rather than narrative knowledge, and fusion education in which boundaries between learning domains are broken down will be achieved. First of all, learners in the fourth industrial revolution era should have critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Metacognition based on self-control and cognitive flexibility is important for effective self-directed and active learning. Creativity-based collaborative activities, social vision skills, and social and emotional skills are also important competencies. Therefore, in order to provide individualized learning contents to learners in the fourth industrial revolution era, they should be transformed into learning paradigm based on personal characteristics such as learners' self-efficacy, interest, curiosity and creativity. In addition to this, evaluation forms should be diversified according to changing teaching and learning methods. In order to cultivate teachers to lead such educational innovation, it is necessary to reconsider the teaching capacity. Teachers should be able to construct creative lessons by skillfully exploiting technology in future learning environments. In addition to this, it should also have the ability to collaborate and cognitive flexibility to converge with other academic disciplines. Along with these discussions, we proposed the need for policy intervention along with changes in education.
In this study, POE(Post Occupancy Evaluation) evaluation indexes were selected into six categories through the consideration of theories and prior research. Therefore, qualitative supply can be achieved through POE according to the aspect of residential environment after the quantitative supply of mixed-use apartment complex by the population concentration in Seoul due to industrialization and urbanization. As the evaluation elements, detailed survey contents were selected for livability, convenience, comfort, safety, economy, and sociality. Based on the survey contents, six elements were evaluated and analyzed using Data coding and Likert scale after surveying 12 complexes (Urban areas and non-urban areas) in Seoul. As a result of the study, six categories selected as the POE showed that importance of quality of life and safety was developed in high recognition according to high satisfaction with convenience and safety. Sociality showed the lowest satisfaction in the following order : livability, comfort, economy and sociality. Residents' sense of community, interaction with neighborhood, etc., showed low satisfaction, and it seems that it is necessary to improve and supplement the system for the development of mixed-use apartment complex in the future. The detailed characteristics of livability showed high satisfaction of the living room, the front door and the main room which are main uses of housing, and low satisfaction in storage size. The analysis of convenience is that convenient public transportation was the highest, and educational environment and additional facilities were the lowest, showing the advantages and disadvantages of location characteristics. As a result of the analysis of comfort, satisfaction with the landscape area was low and it seems that green space is needed for the development of mixed-use apartment complex in the future. Lastly, regarding the safety, the satisfaction of the access control, the location of security office, etc. were high, however separation of circulation was low. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly separate the circulation between the residence and other facilities in the mixed-use apartment complex.
The purpose of this study is to examine whether the participation of lifelong learning activities of the elderly is a part of the self - The questionnaire consisted of 12 items of general characteristics, 5 items of lifelong education, 6 items of volunteer activity, 15 items of life satisfaction, and 10 items of self - integration. The subjects of this study were 300 elderly people aged 60 or older living in Seoul, Gyeonggi - do, and Incheon, and participated in lifelong educational institutions such as the elderly welfare center, elderly university, and ward. As a method of analysis, the structural equation model of AMOS 22.0 was applied. The results obtained by applying the structural equation analysis are as follows. First, general characteristics were tested and the reliability of the items was tested. The reliability of the items, predictability, accuracy, and validity were analyzed by principal component analysis. Second, the research hypothesis was verified by verifying the fit of measurement variables through participation factor of lifelong education, self - integration, life satisfaction, and voluntary service. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS WIN 22.0 and Amos 22.0 programs.
The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of the correct food choices and nutrition management through nutrition labeling and provide basic data for building a nutrition labeling system for Korean restaurants. In the study, a survey was conducted from February 5th to February 27th in 2010 involving adults over the age of 20 living in part of the Gyeonggi-do area. The data was used to analyze the general characteristics, the awareness of nutrition labeling and the nutrition labeling contents by using the SPSS 18.0 package program. Among the 268 people surveyed, the total number of women was greater (60.4%) than men (39.6%). The perception of the necessity of nutrition labeling was a relatively high score of 3.99 on a 1 to 5 scale and the motivation to utilize nutrition labeling scored 3.89. The study found that females perceived nutrition labeling to be more important than did the males. In addition, the perception varied according to the level of education and age. In conclusion, since customers have a high demand for nutrition labeling in Korean restaurants and are motivated to utilize labeling when eating-out is relatively strong, labeling would be a good educational tool for leading a healthy food life. Furthermore, since the study found that differences occur between nutrition labeling contents or nutrients according to general characteristics, food service companies might be able to gain benefits through differentiated nutrition labeling that is catered for their main customers.
This study investigates the beginning background of the Smart Education Policy. Besides this article suggests the policy task and direction through analysis of politique characteristic of the Smart Education Policy. First of all, the Smart Education Policy belongs with distribution policy. Distribution policy means that the government positively provides goods and services that people in need. Second, the Smart Education Policy has high tangibility and the policy's output appears immediately. Thus, this step required verification of policy output as well as policy impact. Third, the Smart Education Policy is succession policy of historical and contextual homogeneity of educational information comprehensive development plan that has been promoted in our country since 1996. So, Policy implementation must based on this. Fourth, in order to smooth driving of the Smart Education Policy, to keep up with a rapidly changing politique environment, driving of policy need to secure high flexibility.
In regard to the growth and development of Innocity from improvements in Innocity settlement environment, this research examines the level of satisfaction of Innocity settlement environment to propose a political implications. We deduced the main cause of settlement environment satisfaction by performing logistic regression on the public institution employees level of satisfaction in respect to 4 Innocity characteristics?six physical properties, three social properties, five facility properties, three economical properties?and three general questions. As a result, the greatest factor of settlement environment was physical properties, such as natural environment and scenery, residential environment, availability of diverse uses in the surrounding area, and access to public transportation. In addition, social characteristics (relationships with neighbors), and facilities (availability of industrial, research and educational facilities) were also significant. This research provided political implications for future Innocity settlement environment improvements despite limiting factors such as residents' perception and limited surveyed sites.

As various digital educational contents for students with disabilities are spreading, a teaching support system for smart education and a utilization plan that takes into account the characteristics of each type of disability must be established. Accordingly, this study analyzed classes using digital content focusing on the case of a special school for the physically disabled and proposed ways to apply the teaching and learning content to the field and improve the support system. Class cases at a special school in Seoul were purposively sampled and analyzed using class video data, class reflection sheets, and in-depth interviews with teachers. Based on the case analysis results, a plan was presented to effectively utilize digital content in special education settings by reflecting the characteristics of students with physical disabilities. A follow-up study was proposed based on the results of this study.
This study was to examine the needs among elementary school dietitians (n = 115) for developing a nutrition information internet site for children. A survey questionnaire included general characteristics, internet use regarding health and nutrition information, and needs for developing a nutrition information site. The mean age of the subjects was 36.2 years. The higher working experience group (> 10 years of working as dieticians) had higher mean age (p < 0.001), had a larger number of enrolled students at school (p < 0.01) and the number of those receiving school lunch (p < 0.01) than the counterparts (${\le}10$ years group). Sources of health and nutrition information were mainly PC/internet (60.4%) and seminar (14.4%). About 95% used health or nutrition information using the internet, however, the majority of users (71.6%) used internet information only when they needed it. Major reasons for using internet information was 'to get nutrition education materials' (63.8%) and 'to obtain general nutrition information' (21%). One third of the subjects were satisfied with nutrition information internet sites; major problems with internet sites were 'lack of content' (38.9%) and 'lack of practical information' (33%). These characteristics regarding internet use were not different between work experience groups. Major problems with nutrition education were 'lack of nutrition educational materials' (41.1 %) and 'lack of nutrition education skills' (32.1%). These were significantly different between the work experience groups (p < 0.01). Subjects preferred CD/internet to leaflet/booklet as nutrition educational materials. In developing nutrition sites for children, subjects wanted topics such as obesity assessment, dietary assessment, and obesity. Subjects responded that contents of nutrition information should be 'suitable to the children's knowledge levels' (31.1%), 'interesting enough by including quizzes, games and songs' (27.8%), 'inserting many illustrations/icons' (16.3%). In terms of designing internet sites for children, they wanted that internet sites should 'be easy enough to find the sites' (29.2%), 'use illustrations and characters' (24.8%), 'use communication channels such as Q&A' (18.7%). Needs for developing internet sites for children were not different by the work experience group. This study suggests that web sites for children should be carefully developed considering the contents and design, have less information with more illustrations, designed to induce the interest of children, as well as including sections such as eating habit assessment and games.
