  • In this paper, we have developed page level input system of the character reading aid for the blind. Input toys)ems arse consisted with 512 pixels line image sensor, optical lento, digital interface for the computer and its control software. Input buffer size of the computer memory that for the single scanning of printed matters Image is 64kB. Image patterns of the reading characters which stored in system memory are converted to tactile character patterns that would be output to the bimorph tactile sensor by software control.

  • 본 논문에서는 영화의 등장인물의 성향을 파악하기 위해 시나리오의 대사로부터 감정어를 추출하고, 등장인물의 감정어들을 긍정, 부정, 중립의 3개로 단순화하여 등장인물의 성향을 가시화 시켜주는 방법을 제안한다. 대사로부터 감정어를 추출하기 위해 WordNet 기반의 감정어 추출 방법을 제안한다. WordNet은 단어 간에 상위어와 하위어, 유사어 등의 관계로 연결된 네트워크 구조의 사전이다. 이 네트워크 구조에서 최상위의 감정 항목과의 거리를 계산하여 단어별 감정량을 계산하여 대사를 30 차원의 감정 벡터로 표현한다. 등장인물별로 추출된 감정 벡터를 긍정, 부정, 중립의 3개의 차원으로 단순화 하여 등장인물의 성향을 표현한다.

A Study on the Gamsung Engineering Analysis of the Korean Character - Focused on the 24 point Display Type Korean Character - (한글의 감성공학 분석에 관한 연구 -제목용 글자 24point를 중심으로-)

  • 본 연구에서는 시각 표시정보 중에서 제목용 한글에 대하여 감성어휘들을 조사하고, 의미분별법을 이용하여 한글의 설계요소들과 감성어휘들간의 관계를 다변량 통계방법을 통하여 분석하였다. 제목용 글자는 가로와 세로의 크기가 동일한 정체 중 크기가 24poin1인 낱 글자와 두 글자 단어를 이용하였다. 한글의 설계요소는 네모 형태이면서 글자 줄기에 세리프가 있는 명조 설계요소, 직각 형태인 고딕 설계요소, 둥근 형태인 굴림 설계요소와 탈 네모 형태이면서 세리프가 있는 공한 설계요소로 한정하였다. 총 420명(남자 210명, 여자 210명)의 피실험자를 대상으로 하여, 각 설계요소별로 요인분석을 통한 의미공간과 요인과 감성어휘 간의 관계를 파악하였다. 그리고 설계요소별로 23개의 감성어휘에 대한 감성차이와 남녀 간의 감성차이를 파악하기 위하여 ANOVA와 T-TEST 분석을 하였다.

  • 본 연구는 한글 글자를 지각하는데 있어서 인식의 초기 단계에 사람들이 글자의 유형을 처리하는지 알아보기 위하여 시행되었다. 글자인식의 초기 단계에서 유형 분류를 한다는 것은 이미 인공시각 연구자들에 의해 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증된 바 있으나, 그것이 심리학적으로 실재성을 가지는지에 대한 검토는 없었으므로 본 연구를 실시하게 된 것이다. 먼저 예비실험을 통해 본 실험에서 쓸 자극제시시간을 구했으며, 실험은 한글 글자 중 낱자 수가 두 개인 유형 1, 2 의 글자를 자극으로 쓰는 경우와, 낱자 수가 세개인 유형 3, 4, 5 의 글자를 자극으로 쓰는 경우를 나누어서 실시하였다. 실험 1 과 실험 2 의 결과는 모두 가설을 강력히 지지하는 것으로 나왔다. 즉 자극제시시간을 역치하로 했을 경우 글자의 정답율과 유형의 정답율을 비교해 보았을 때 유형의 정답율이 유의하게 높았으며, 이는 아직 글자의 의미처리가 일어나기 전인 인식의 초기 단계에서 이미 글자의 유형에 대한 처리가 일어났음을 시사해 주는 것이다.

Creating Characters Based on the Portrait Paintings of the Chosun Period and the Death Records of the "Chosun-dynasty Sillok"

  • This study investigates the portrait paintings of the Chosun period and the Death Records of the Chosun-dynasty Sillok in an effort to find new methods to apply to character design. The basis of this study were 42 figures from a group of portrait paintings from the late Goryeo period to the Chosun dynasty of the 25th King, Chul-Jong. First, Chinese letters illustrating the personalities in the Death Records were classified into five groups based on the Big Five theory, which divides personalities into the Big Five Personality Traits of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness. Secondly, a representative facial image was created through a morphing technique after extracting the portraits using a method that relied on the high frequency of the appearance of specific Chinese letters related to each personality type.

  • The performing art represents joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure through acting and dance, and is told to be a composite art represented by make-up, setting, costume and props. Therefore, it can be said that make-up is an important medium of stage art. Make-up in stage art is a kind of communication with audiences through understanding personalities of characters as demanded by scenarios. Due to the creative stage make-up which meets the character in the play relevant to these contents of the play, the conceptual study on stage make-up design for visual expression coincide with the intended character is needed. In this study, I investigate theoretical, universal, and psychological personality types by analyzing basic appearance features based on the physiognomy(face-reading) related from the psychological theories. And visualized through illustration according to personality types to apply for the characters in the play.

Influence of the Character of Fly Ash on the Fluidity of Fly Ash Cement Paste

  • The Influence of the character of fly ash on the fluidity of cement paste with a polycarboxylic acid type superplasticizer was investigated in connection with the particle size distribution, unburned carbon content, specific surface area and shape of the fly ash. The fluidity of the fly ash cement paste with an added 20 vol% fly ash increases with an increasing roundness of the fly ash and it decreases with an increasing n-value of the fly ash cement. There is a linear correlation between the roundness/n-value and the fluidity of fly ash cement paste.

Case Study of Animation Production using 'MetaHuman'

  • Recently, the use of Unreal Engine for animation production is increasing. In this situation, Unreal Engine's 'MetaHuman Creator' helps make it easier to apply realistic characters to animation. In this regard, we tried to produce animations using 'MetaHuman' and verify the effectiveness and differences from the animation production process using only Maya software. To increase the efficiency of the production process, the animation process was made with Maya software. We tried to import animation data from Unreal Engine and go through the process of making animations, and try to find out if there are any problems. And we tried to compare animations made with realistic 'MetaHuman' characters and animation works using cartoon-type characters. The use of the same camera lens in realistic character animations and cartoon character animations produced based on the same scenario was judged to be the cause of the lack of realistic animation screen composition. The analysis revealed that a different approach from the existing animation camera lens selection is required for the selection of the camera lens in the production of realistic animation.

  • Recently, According to companies of TFT LCD are making large sized products more and more. In the vortex of Products with a monitor and LCD TV is applied in a technique of a high viewing angle(FFS, IPS, VA). Also, as a high luminance, high speed response time, high degree of a color purity, and so on are continuing to develop a high performance, it is necessary to improve a specific character of high luminance that apply to LCD TV as a LCD BLU. Because a LCD panel for TV usually has a lower resolution that compare to a monitor, the structure of present backlight system can't put out its power even though it has a merit in transmission. Therefore, the examination of improvement about the high luminance direct typed BLU for LCD TV that presupposes several uses of CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) or EEFL(External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp)is actively being progressed. Although it is necessary to increase the number of lamps for applying high performance by the direct type, in this case, because we can design the character of luminance for adoption of high performance. We can satisfy with a level of luminance for LCD TV. Accordingly, we analyzed a change of the number of CCFL, mechanical and optical character to produce the direct typed backlight in 32inches spec. Consequently, we achieved luminance of 6597nit,which was including polarization film, and secured the standard for LCD TV.

Design of Electro-Thread Embroidery UHF RFID Tag Antennas with Character Shapes (글자 모양의 자수형 도전사 UHF RFID 태그 안테나 디자인)

  • The conductivity of various electro-threads is analyzed, and the washable electro-thread embroidery UHF RFID tag antennas using the character shape without T-matching structure are designed by adding a T-matching structure. The RFID tag antenna using the electro-thread is easy to be embedded on a cloth as a wearable antenna because it is flexible and different from general copper inlay shape and tape type tag. The embroidery tag antennas are designed with the English alphabet 'F' and the Korea alphabet 'ㄹ' character. Those are easy to be applied to general clothes. The parameters of antennas are optimized and fabricated. The characteristics and the reading range patterns of the tag antennas are measured. The reading ranges of wet tags(tap water, sea water and soapy water) are tested and compared.
