Development of Character Goods Content Utilizing Marker-based Augmented Reality (마커기반 증강현실을 활용한 캐릭터 굿즈 콘텐츠 개발)

  • Recently, there has been growing interest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with a particular focus on the advancement of augmented reality (AR) devices. However, there is a shortage of AR content. Augmented reality operates through marker-based and markerless methods. The marker-based approach involves using a camera to capture images that serve as markers, enhancing them through AR principles. To address the scarcity of AR content and improve the quality of character goods, this study proposes integrating AR technology into character goods. The character industry is expanding each year, leading to a diverse range of character goods. Character acrylic stands, among these goods, leverage game, webtoon, and animation character IPs for sales. To enhance the design process, we utilized the character image as a marker, allowing for the creation of content that aligns with the characteristics of the character IP. We selected a webtoon character and developed AR content, incorporating features such as voice, speech bubbles, and an introduction to the webtoon, tailored to the webtoon's characteristics. This study demonstrates the potential of AR to present visual and auditory information, paving the way for a variety of products, including diverse content. We anticipate that utilizing this research will lead to the emergence of products encompassing various contents.

A Study on the Quality of Life, Self-Efficacy and Family Support of Stroke Patients in Oriental Medicine Hospitals (한방병원 뇌졸중환자의 삶의 질과 자기효능감, 가족지지와의 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between quality of life, self-efficacy and family support of stroke patients in Oriental medicine hospitals. The subjects of this study were 211 hospitalized stroke patients in seven oriental medicine hospitals in the Busan Metropolitan, Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsanbuk-do area. Data was collected through questionnaires from June 1st, 2002 to September 30th, 2002. 1) The relationship between general characteristics and other variables showed significant differences as follows : for general self-efficacy degree, age, occupation, and level of education ; for family support, level of education and occupation ; for quality of life, level of education, occupation, religion, and monthly income. 2) The relationship between disease-related characteristics and other variables showed significant differences as follows ; for general self-efficacy, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization ; for specific character of paralysis, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization ; for family support, care-giver, character of paralysis, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization related; for quality of life, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization. 3) There was a significant correlation between the quality of life and general self-efficacy, the quality of life and the specific self-efficacy, the specific self-efficacy and family support.

  • Off-line handwritten character recognition is in difficulty of incomplete preprocessing because it has not dynamic information has various handwriting, extreme overlap of the consonant and vowel and many error image of stroke. Consequently off-line handwritten character recognition needs to study about preprocessing of various methods such as binarization and thinning. This paper considers running time of watershed algorithm and the quality of resulting image as preprocessing for off-line handwritten Korean character recognition. So it proposes application of effective watershed algorithm for segmentation of character region and background region in gray level character image and segmentation function for binarization by extracted watershed image. Besides it proposes thinning methods that effectively extracts skeleton through conditional test mask considering routing time and quality of skeleton, estimates efficiency of existing methods and this paper's methods as running time and quality. Average execution time on the previous method was 2.16 second and on this paper method was 1.72 second. We prove that this paper's method removed noise effectively with overlap stroke as compared with the previous method.

  • 3D character animation grow rapidly with the development of computer graphic technology and software. Nowadays 3D character animation holds a important position in the various industry fields including movie, advertisement, animation, and game. With the rapid growth of computer graphic, real time animation of complex characters as well as high quality rendering, which was impossible before, are now prevailing. What is remarkable in this growth is the appearance of virtual idol. The virtual idol plays a leading role in 3D character animation and has a synergy effect in the field of fancy and theme park industry. The aim of this inquiry is to examine the status of computer graphic skill and media related to the 3D character animation to search out the problems in the fields and to propose the solution of the problems

  • Advanced technologies and techniques make it possible to express digital animation with higher quality. Characters in the virtual animation space are playing an important role in emphasizing the human audiences or interacting directly with them. The movement of characters gives them vital power, and shows their intentions and emotions. To analyze the emotion of character movements, the study develops basic movement sources based on Laban's property elements of movement such as time, space, and flow, and tries to find the relationship between their movements and the emotions they arouse by positioning them on Plutchik's emotional circle. We find that each element of 9 movements represent its own emotion consistently, and has influence on the intensity of emotions clearly.

Character Segmentation on Printed Korean Document Images Using a Simplification of Projection Profiles (투영 프로파일의 간략화 방법을 이용한 인쇄체 한글 문서 영상에서의 문자 분할)

  • In this paper, we propose two approaches for the character segmentation on Korean document images. One is an improved version of a projection profile-based algorithm. It involves estimating the number of characters, obtaining the split points and then searching for each character's boundary, and selecting the best segmentation result. The other is developed for low quality document images where adjacent characters are connected. In this case, parts of the projection profile are cut to resolve the connection between the characters. This is called ${\alpha}$-cut. Afterwards, the revised former segmentation procedure is conducted. The two approaches have been tested with 43,572 low-quality Korean word images punted in various font styles. The segmentation accuracies of the former and the latter are 91.81% and 99.57%, respectively. This result shows that the proposed algorithm using a ${\alpha}$-cut is effective for low-quality Korean document images.

  • This experiment was conducted to breed the Boxthorn varieties with resistance to Anthracnose, good quality and high yielding potential in 1984 to 1986(3 years).The character of "Yu seong 1" with resistance to Anthracnose and "Yu seong 2"with good quality and high yielding potential are fellows;1, The plant type of "Yu seong 1" was semi-elect type but became to electtype after 60C" rediation and yield was decreased because of the number of flowers.2. The yield of "Yu seong 2" was the highest of all varieties.3. The quality(Extract and Betain contents) of "Yu seong 2" was the best ofall varieties and visible character was good.The results of this experinent showed that "Yu seong 1" should be promisinglines in south area because of resistance Anthracnose and "Yu seong 2" should bepromising lines in north area.hracnose and "Yu seong 2" should bepromising lines in north area.orth area.

  • For improving the quality of survey dat a of sensitive character, we suggest a conditional in direct survey method. In th at method, only the respondents who answer directly to the less sensitive question respond indirectly to the more sensitive one by using the one sample unrelated question randomized response technique with the known $\pi_y$, the true proportion of unrelated group Y. We extend it to two sample method when $\pi_y$ is unknown. We also consider the case that people who possess less sensitive character answer untruthfully. Finally we compare our method with the methods of Greenberg et al. and Carr et al..

  • This study is aimed at prevention and countermeasurements of the mine wastewater pollution caused by a mineralized area using heavy metals. Objective of this study is selected to a high positive ion methathesis capacity of the environmental integrity character materials, as well as applied to the mine wastewater treatments. Also, the environmental integrity character materials is selected Kaolin. Silica, Zeolite, Fly ash. Thus, this environmental integrity character matters will be proved in the reduced heavy metals level and fine water quality of effluent.

  • The widespread discussion of AI-generated content, fueled by the emergence of consumer applications like ChatGPT and Midjourney, has attracted significant attention. Among various AI applications, AI painting has gained popularity due to its mature technology, user-friendly nature, and excellent output quality, resulting in a rapid growth in user numbers. Midjourney and Stable Diffusion are two of the most widely used AI painting tools by users. In this study, the author adopts a perspective that represents the general public and utilizes case studies and comparative analysis to summarize the distinctive features and differences between Midjourney and Stable Diffusion in the context of AI character illustration. The aim is to provide informative material forthose interested in AI painting and lay a solid foundation for further in-depth research on AI-generated content. The research findings indicate that both software can generate excellent character images but with distinct features.
