  • In this paper we propose a Fractional Channel Reservation (FCS) scheme to satisfy a desired handoof dropping probability and to reduce the blocking probability of new calls using mobility characteristics and incoming handoff rate in mobile communication networks. When the ratio of the handoff call arrival rate is less then the ratio of the new call arrival rete, the proposed scheme is capable of determining the number of the guard channels which can guarantee the Quality of Service(QoS) in terms of the request handoff dropping probability and allocating dynamically the wireless channels the new calls according to the rest of the guard channels to reduce the new call blocking probability. Also we perform mathematical analysis and simulation to evaluate the performance of proposed scheme and compare to conventional guard channel scheme in terms of dropping probability blocking probability and the utilization efficiency of wireless channels.

  • For very large multimedia traffic to be supported successfully in wireless network environment, it is necessary to provide Quality-of-Service(QoS) guarantees between mobile hosts(clients). In order to guarantee the Qos, we have to keep the call blocking probability below target value during handoff session. However, the QoS negotiated between the client and the network may not be guaranteed due to lack of available channels for traffic in the new cell, since mobile clients should be able to continue their on-going sessions. In this paper we propose a efficient load-balancing algorithm based on the adaptive bandwidth reservation scheme for enlarging available channels in a cell. We design a new method to predict the mobility of clients using MPT(mobility profile table). This method is then used to reserve a part of bandwidths for handoff calls to its adjacent cells and this reserved bandwidth can be used for handoff call prior to new connection requests. If the number of free channels is also under a low threshold value, our scheme use a load-balancing algorithm with a adaptive bandwidth reservation. In order to evaluate the performance of our algorithm, we measure the metrics such as the blocking probability of new calls and dropping probability of handoff calls, and compare with other existing schemes.

  • For multimedia traffics to be supported successfully in wireless network environment, it is necessary to provide Qualify-of-Service(QoS) guarantees among mobile hosts(clients). In order to guarantee the QoS, we have to keep the call blocking probability below a target value during hand-off session. However, the QoS negotiated between the client and the network may not be guaranteed due to lack of available channels for traffic of a new cell, since on service mobile clients should be able to continue their sessions. In this paper, we propose an efficient load-balancing algorithm based on the adaptive bandwidth reservation scheme for enlarging available channels in a cell. Proposed algorithm predicts the direction of clients in a cell and adjusts the amount of the channel to be reserved according to the load status of the cell. This method is used to reserve a part of bandwidths of a cell for hand-off calls to its adjacent cells and this reserved bandwidth can be used for hand-off call prior to new connection requests. If the number of free channels is also under a low threshold value, our scheme use a load-balancing algorithm with an adaptive bandwidth reservation. In order to evaluate the performance of our algorithm, we measure metrics such as the blocking probability of new calls and dropping probability of hand-off calls, and compare with those of existing schemes.

  • In this paper, the modified aviation TDMA protocol that can improve the aeronautical communication spectrum utilization is studied to satisfy the increasing air traffic demands. Currently European states proposed the scheme reducing the channel spacing from current 25 kHz to 8.33 kHz and U. S. FAA proposed the system using TDMA technique that divides access into four parallel circuits. The modified aviation TDMA protocol can complement the defects of these current systems. In modified aviation TDMA protocol, message channel that is used between aircraft and ground station is divided into uplink channel and downlink channel. After receiving the acknowledgement of the reservation request, aircraft sends messages at the allocated slots. Numerical analysis and simulation results show that the modified aviation TDMA scheme has high channel efficiency in the aviation environment.

  • Due to the unpredictable nature of channel availability, carrying delay-sensitive traffic in cognitive radio networks (CRNs) is very challenging. Spectrum leasing of radio resources has been proposed in the so called coordinated CRNs to improve the quality of service (QoS) experienced by secondary users (SUs). In this paper, the performance of coordinated CRNs under fixed-rate with hard-delay-constraints traffic is analyzed. For the adequate and fair performance comparison, call admission control strategies with fractional channel reservation to prioritize ongoing secondary calls over new ones are considered. Maximum Erlang capacity is obtained by optimizing the number of reserved channels. Numerical results reveal that system performance strongly depends on the value of the mean secondary service time relative to the mean primary service time. Additionally, numerical results show that, in CRNs without spectrum leasing, there exists a critical utilization factor of the primary resources from which it is not longer possible to guarantee the required QoS of SUs and, therefore, services with hard delay constraints cannot be even supported in CRNs. Thus, spectrum leasing can be essential for CRN operators to provide the QoS demanded by fixed-rate applications with hard delay constraints. Finally, the cost per capacity Erlang as function of both the utilization factor of the primary resources and the maximum allowed number of simultaneously rented channels is evaluated.

  • Optical burst switching(OBS) is a promising solution for building terabit optical routers and realizing If over WDM. Channel scheduling Algorithm for reduce contention is one of the major challenges in OBS. We address the issue of how to provide basic burst channel scheduling in optical burst switched WDM networks with fiber delay lines(FDLs). In OBS networks the control and payload components or a burst are sent separately with a time gap. If CHP arrives to burst switch node, because using scheduling algorithm for data burst, reservation resources such as wavelength and transmit data burst without O/E/O conversion, because contention and void between burst are happened at channel scheduling process for data burst that happened the link utilization and bust drop probability Existent proposed methods are become much research to solve these problems. Propose channel scheduling algorithm that use Release Time of bust to emphasize clearance between data and data dissipation that is happened in data assignment in this treatise and maximize bust drop probability and the resources use rate (RTUC : Release Time Unscheduled Channel). As simulation results, Confirmed that is more superior in terms of data drop and link utilization than scheduling algorithm that is proposed existing. As simulation results, confirmed improved performance than scheduling algorithm that is proposed existing in terms of survival of burst, efficiency resource and delay. However, In case load were less, degradation confirmed than existent scheduling algorithm relatively, and confirmed that is superior in data drop aspect in case of load increased.

  • Relatively slow tuning speed of optical device causes the unwanted delay in high speed single-hop multiwavelength networks. To lessen the overhead, we present a channel access protocol with dynamjic message scheduling. Th eframe structure of proposed protocol adopts hybrid multiaccess scheme in which WDMA is used as a basic multiaccess technique and TDMA is used to provide subchannels within a wavelength band. This architecture has two merits : the network extention is not limited by available number of wavelengths, and the transmission delay caused by optical device tuning time can to minimize the number of tunings. It schedules messages that require same wavelength channels sequencely, so the total transmission delay is reduced by decreasement of wavelength changes. The performance of proposed protocol is evaluated through numerical analysis based on probability and queueing theory. The peformance of proposed protocol is evaluated through numerical analysis based on probability and queueing theory. The numeric results show that the peformance of proposed protocol is better than that of previous one.

  • In this study was modify the PRMA for supporting various types of traffic classes such as CBR, VBR, ABR and UBR. For uplink, we use reservation slots and so the performance will not degrade in case of over load conditions. For downlink broadcasting slots for informing the status of slot reservations are used so the high priority priority terminal can preempt. And we use almost same size buffer as the frame size. So we can dynamically deal with, the traffic changes of VBR terminals. It makes easy for the terminals to reserve supplementary slots. Each terminal is reallocated by the priority of traffic classes and so we can easily select the dropping packets in case of overload conditions. As a result, using our scheme, we can get high channel efficiency and get low packet dropping ratio and delay.
