A Study on Efficient Packet Design for Underwater Acoustic Communication (수중음향통신에서 효율적인 패킷 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Underwater acoustic communication has multipath error because of reflection by sea-level and sea-bottom. The multipath of underwater channel causes signal distortion and error floor. In this paper, in order to design an efficient packet structure, we employ channel coding scheme and phase recovery algorithm. For channel coding scheme, half rate LDPC channel coding scheme with N=1944 and K=972 was used. Also, decision directed phase recovery was used for correcting phase offset induced by multipath. Based on these algorithms, we propose length of data for optimal packet structure in the environment of oceanic experimentation.

  • Compressive sensing can recover an original sparse signal from a few measurements. Its performance is affected by the number of non-zero elements in the signal. The knowledge of partial locations of non-zero elements can improve the recovery performance. In this paper, we apply the partial location knowledge to the multipath matching pursuit. The numerical results show it improves the signal recovery performance and the channel estimation performance in the ITU-VB channel.

Performance analysis of carrier recovery using pilot tone in mobile radio channel (이동통신채널에서 파일롯 톤을 이용한 반송파 동기의 성능분석)

  • The performance of a carrier recovery is severely degraded because of amplitude fluctuations and random phases of the received signai caused by multipath fading in mobile radio channel. In this paper, we present two kinds of carrier recovery technique using pilot tone such as TCT(Tone Calibration Technique) and DTCT(Dual Tone Calibration Technique) and analyze these performance both in Rayleigh and Rician fadings. we also evaluate the BER performance of two carrier recovery systems in terms of design parameters such as pilot-to-singnal power ratio, and detection filter-to-pilot filter bandwidth ratio.

  • In this paper, we study the security of key recovery enhanced key exchange protocol. We present a subliminal channel of self-escrowed Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol proposed by P. Paillier and M. Yung in ICISC\`99, and also we present a method to prevent such a subliminal channel. In addition, we review and analyze the weakness of the modified key recovery enhanced key exchange Protocol proposed by C. Kim and p. Lee in PKC 2001.

  • This paper presents an efficient carrier recovery algorithm combined with a turbo-coding technique in a mobile communication system. By using a block turbo code made up of independently decodable block codes, we can efficiently recover the fast time-varying carrier phase as well as correct channel errors. Our simulation results reveal that the proposed scheme can accommodate mobiles with high speed, and at the same time can reduce the number of iterations to lock the phase.

  • To obtain realistic composite performance and availability measures, one should consider performance changes that are associated with failure recovery behavior. In this paper we address two modeling approaches, exact composite and approximate, and develop SRN models for these approaches. The former approach is to combine the performance and availability models and yields accurate results but generally faces largeness problem. To avoid the problem, the two level hierarchical model is developed. The upper level model describes the failure and repair behavior of the system and the lower level captures the pure performance aspect of the system, channel allocation and service. It models guard channel and preemptive handoff scheme. As numerical results, blocking and dropping probabilities are given for new call and handoff call, respectively.

Backhaul transmission scheme for UAV based on improved Nash equilibrium strategy

  • As a new alternative communication scheme in 5G, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is used as a relay in the remote base station (BS) for assistant communication. In order to ameliorate the quality of the backhaul link, a UAV backhaul transmission scheme based on improved Nash equilibrium (NE) strategy is proposed. First, the capacity of air-to-ground (A2G) channel by the link preprocess is maximized. Then, the maximum utility function of each UAV is used as the basis of obtaining NE point according to the backhaul channel and the backhaul congestion. Finally, the improved NE strategy is applied in multiple iterations until maximum utility functions of all the UAVs are reached, and the UAVs which are rejected by air-to-air (A2A) link during the process would participate in the source recovery process to construct a multi-hop backhaul network. Simulation results show that average effective backhaul rate, minimum effective backhaul rate increases by 10%, 28.5% respectively in ideal A2G channel, and 11.8%, 42.3% respectively in fading channel, comparing to pure NE strategy. And the average number of iterations is decreased by 5%.

Development of a Performance Prediction Method for Centrifugal Compressor Channel Diffusers

  • A hybrid performance prediction method is proposed in the present study. A channel diffuser is divided into four subregions: vaneless space, semi-vaneless space, channel, and channel exit region. One-dimensional compressible core flow and boundary layer calculation of each region with an incidence loss model and empirical correlation of residuary pressure recovery coefficient of a channel predict the performance of diffusers. Three channel diffusers are designed and tested for validating the developed prediction method. The pressure distributions from an impeller exit to the channel diffuser exit are measured and discussed for various operating conditions from choke to nearly surge conditions. The strong non-uniform pressure distribution which is caused by impeller-diffuser interaction is obtained over the vaneless and semi-vaneless spaces. The predicted performance shows good agreement with the measured performance of diffusers at a design condition as well as at off-design conditions.

  • In land mobile communications, multipath fading is one of the key factors which affect the system performance. Some extensive studies have been carried out to improve the degraded performance under this fading channels. The PSAM channel compensation method using channel fading estimation is widely used and TCM is a combined coding and modulation technique that has been shown to provide significant coding gain without increasing the transmission bandwidth. In this paper, we analyze the performance of PSA-TC-8PSK which combines PSAM and TCM over frequency nonselective fading channels. To estimate channel fading, Wiener filter which minimizes error variance is used as compensation method and we analyze the affects on the system performance of the number of filter taps, period of the pilot symbol frame, and the Doppler frequency. In addition, we consider the symbol timing recovery circuit which can be implemented in the full-digital method and analyze the effects of symbol timing error on the system performance.

  • In this paper, we propose the synchronization recovery algorithm which is suitable to wireless multimedia of wireless channel situation which is being used OFDM signaling method. The basic of the suggested clock synchronization. restoration Algorithm is to getting the shock response of channel or getting the multipath strength profile through IFFT after the getting the frequency, response of deducted channel from channel deductor of receiver and to trace the location in the channel energy concentrated area of timing area. And it also analysis the start point of 64-QAM and 16-QAM if the sampling clock offset has the sample of $\pm$1-3, and we identified the occurance of performance deterioration when occures more than 2 samples of offset to compare with star point and BER performance in optimum sampling point result of BER performance checking, and we know that the recovery algorithm proposed algorithm also provide excellent synchronization characteries under frequency, selecting fading channel as result of simulation.
