개명의 동기와 개명 후 자기지각척도에 관한 연구 (Study on the motivation for renaming and the level of self-perception scale attained after renaming)

  • 연구의 목적은 개명의 동기와 개명 후 자기지각척도에 관한 연구를 하고자 한다. 연구대상은 2013년 4월 1일부터 2013년 5월 31일까지 전국을 대상으로 161명에게 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석방법은 빈도분석, 상관분석, t-test, 일원변량분석, 단계적 회귀분석 등을 실시하였고, 실증분석은 모두 유의수준 5%에서 검증하였다. 분석결과는 개명하기 전보다 후에 성공척도, 정서척도, 성격척도가 높게 나타났으며, 자신이 개명하고자 원했던 자는 개명한 후, 이름에 대한 자기지각척도가 유의미하게 높아진 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구의 시사점은 개명동기가 '좋은 이름을 갖고 싶어서'로 가장 많고, 개명 후에 가장 큰 변화로 '자신감', '만족감' 등이 자기지각척도를 높였다는 연구결과를 바탕으로 개명을 원하는 사람들을 위한 자료가 될 것으로 사료된다.

과학기술정책의 기원 (The Origins of Science and Technology Policy)

  • This paper, searching for the origin of the science and technology policy, is one of the research series on the original form of current S&T policy such as origin, evolution and changing patterns. Without understanding the origin, it is very difficult to understand the evolution and the current change of the policy. To answer this question, 2 kinds of conditions are set: 4 concepts for the origin of a policy and also 4 conditions for the S&T policy itself. As the origin of a policy, 4 concepts are set such as independence, continuance, diffusion and modern state as a policy body. Also as conditions for S&T policy, there may be 4 conditions such as policy targets, policy functions, administration body and the usage of the name of the policy. S&T can be distinguished as science, technology and S&T along it's development path. There, hence, are 2 origins of science and technology policy. French policy for modern science at the late 18th century and the establishment of the Agency of Science and Technology Policy of Japan in 1956 can be pointed out as the origin of the policy. The former can be called as the origin for natural science, and the latter as the origin for S&T. This study implies that new paradigm of S&T policy is a reflection for both the needs of new S&T and social needs. When there were big problems in a society and when there appeared new S&T, they exploited new S&T vigorously. This has been remained as a rememberable monuments in the history of the S&T policy.

  • Virtual hosting is a typical service to connect each directory of site and domain name. If traffic amounts may increase at one site present in the server, then it affects traffic amounts of other sites as well (including the sites which have flew requests). To overcome this problem, we suggest a simple feedback-control concept for the system by periodically monitoring the traffic and properly actuating traffic dispersions by investigating the log file. Specifically, large files are to be served in a backup server (to reduce the workload of the main server) by changing their own URL's in html format. In other words, it automatically redistributes the workload by using the URL. Furthermore, we also use the redirecting method by just adding html tags to html header. This method efficiently handles the workload and maintains the capability of the server effectively to the varying workload.

한국 스트리트 패션에서 도덕성과 관련한 미의식 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Aesthetic Values related to the Morality Expressed in Recent Korean Street Fashion)

  • Every Society has it's own ideology and lifestyle and these form its unique aesthetic experience or values. In the paper observing recent, especially in 1980s and 1990s. Korean street fashion that is one way of expressing their values and lifestyle, the aesthetic values related to the morality have been studied. Through the studies using the cafes of Korean street fashion style we can understand the change of morality and fashion style according to the change of socio-cultural environments more deeply. For study methods documentary study and case study were executed. Morality related clothing were defined in detail through documentary studies and for analysis of street fashion from 1980s and 1990s the cases from 'Mut' and 'Ceci' magazines as well as the articles from Chosunilbo, Dongailbo and Maeilkyungje were looked over one by one. By understanding the intrinsic meanings and formal features of resent Korean street fashion, the direction for future fashion designing could be guided, which could satisfy consumers' needs in the rapidly changing world situation. Followings are the results of the study. First, morality of clothing could be defined in detail regarding modesty and extravagance. Modesty could be directly related to exposure of body and norms for appearances and extravagance to fashion oriented, luxury goods or brand name oriented and spending. Second, the exposing body has been accepted and permitted by public even with criticism more easily but they were less generous to values about norms regarding clothing. Third, the change of morality related to modest has happened earlier than the change of morality related to extravagance, which has begun very recently in 2000s.

조선중기 침자수법 계족침법에 대한 문헌 고찰 (Study of Chicken-Foot-Shaped Needling Method (Gaejokchimbup) from the Mid-Chosen Dynasty Era)

  • Objectives : The present study was conducted to unveil the existence of a medical technique called Chicken-foot-shaped needling method("Gaejokchimbup") from the mid-Chosen Dynasty era and for historical investigation of this technique. Methods : Among historical literatures from China, Korea, and Japan on acupuncture and moxibustion, mentions of "Gaejok"(chicken foot) were searched for and studied. Results : Among the Chinese literatures, some medical scholars made references to "chicken foot" after mentioned in Lingshu Jing. In the Korean literatures, Donguibogam gave it the name Gaejokchimbup and mentioned it. In Japan's Chimgugeukbeecho which contains the acupuncture and moxibustion knowledge of Korean doctors, the procedural method was explained in detail. Conclusions : According to these ancient medical literatures, Gaejok was used largely in two meanings. First meaning was performing acupuncture with 3~4 needles in a chicken foot-like shape on a narrow area, whereas the second meaning was using one acupuncture needle and repeatedly inserting the needle while changing directions according to a path in the shape of a chicken's foot. Based on Rumenshiqin and Chimgugeukbeecho, which contain records of actual clinical experiences, Gaejokchimbup appears to have been used as the second method mention above.

조선시대 아동용 한자 학습서를 통해 본 복식명칭 연구 (A Study on Clothing Names in Sino-Korean Study Books in Choseon Period)

  • To study the clothing names has been one of the research subjects in the history of clothing since the name could be the basic tool to understand the clothing. In the past, the name of clothing were used in Chinese character which is hieroglyphic. Each character of Chinese has special meaning. They had been changed into Korean after Korean characters were invented. During the period when they were changed into Korean, some of them retained the original meaning while others widened the original meaning. Some of them even translated into totally different meaning. Accordingly, it could be a clue to survey the changing process of Chinese names into Korean by analysing the vocabulary in the books published in Choseon dynasty. In this study, the first step is to survey the children's Chinese vocabulary learning material, Hunmongahoe(1527), Sinzeungliuhap(1576) and Ahackpyun(1804). These books were widely used from 16 to 19 centuries. It has been surveyed how the meaning of clothes names has changed and the special features of changed names. The names appeared in these Chinese vocabulary learning books included headgear, footwear, dress, part names of dress, ornaments, color and names of textile. The followings are observed by studying the names appeared in more than two books above: 1. The same Chinese character were translated differently. 2. Recently the meaning of Chinese character has been reduced or changed into new Chinese character. 3. Some of them retained the same meaning but used different character. It has been observed that some clothing names retained the original meaning but others changed the meaning, or translated into different names. It shows that the appropriate meaning of names should be properly selected when we study the history of clothing.

사립대학도서관의 직제 현황에 관한 연구 (A study on the current status of private university library's line and staff organization)

  • This study is aimed at examination and analysis of current status of university library's line and staff organization especially the private university's. Motivation for this study is based on the following facts : First, the library work now is changing from the conventional one to automated one. Second, librarians in the front line must be trained in the newly set work because of the separation of work process in automated libraries. Methodologies of this study, apart from theoretical aspects, were visiting and interviewing librarians at 30 university libraries, examining the current status and problems of the line and staff organization of the university libraries. The result from the study is as follows: First, interviewing reveals that 35% of the 75 private university library is having 'associate directorship by librarian' system. Benefits from this system are described, recommending other University libraries adopt this system. This system su n.0, pplements the weak point of concurrent director's office of lay professor, as well as encourages librarian's morale by promotion. Second, the current organization of the university libraries are to be reformed. Namely, 1) the name of each division must be newly and a n.0, ppropriately set of changed suiting for the work of automated library, thus reforming the division. This must be conducted via collection of opinions of the Korean Library and Information Science Society' and associated organizations. 2) Newly formed division(for example, administrative division or division of operation and management, division conducting digital library work, etc.) must be added to the line and staff organization. 3) For information service division, there must be a certain number of subject specialists. 4) Status of the directorship of university library, librarianship, issue of renaming of university library are also described.

강릉(江陵) 오죽헌(烏竹軒)의 조선시대 사회사(社會史)적 의미 (The social historic meaning of Gangneung-Ojukhen in Joseon Dynasty)

  • 보물 제165호인 오죽헌은 강원도 내에 남아있는 조선전기 가장 이른 시기 사대부 주택의 별당이다. 집의 형태적 측면은 건축사적으로 중요한 가치를 지닌다. 특히 신사임당이 율곡 이이를 낳은 집으로 유명하다. 강릉최씨 가문에 의해 처음 지어졌으나 자녀균분상속의 관행 속에서 사위에게 상속되었고, 최종적으로 신사임당의 어머니 용인이씨가 외손인 권처균에게 배묘조로 상속해 주었다. 권처균의 호가 '오죽헌'이었으므로 택호 또한 오죽헌이 된 것이다. 오죽헌은 조선시대의 상속과 봉사관행의 변화 양상을 조망해 볼 수 있는 문화유산이다. 오죽헌이 용인이씨, 신사임당, 그리고 이이, 권처균 등 직계가 아닌 외손들과 특별한 인연이 맺어지게 되는 것은 서류부가와 친정살이라고 하는 유습이 있었기 때문에 가능했다. 용인이씨, 신사임당은 친정인 오죽헌에서 태어나 자랐다. 용인이씨는 결혼 직후부터 사망할 때까지 친정인 오죽헌에서 살았다. 신사임당도 결혼 후 근친을 위해 친정을 자주 오가며 생활했고, 이이를 오죽헌에서 낳았다. 이이는 유년을 외조모 용인이씨 슬하에서 보냈고, 강릉을 떠나서도 어머니를 따라 외가를 자주 오갔으므로 외조모와의 정이 매우 각별하여 외조모의 봉사손이 된다. 권처균이 용인이씨 배묘손이 되는 것도 아버지 권화가 데릴사위로 들어갔기 때문이다. 오죽헌은 서류부가와 친정살이라고 하는 조선전기 혼인과 생활풍속을 엿볼 수 있는 집이다. 이이가 외가로 지칭했던 강릉 북평촌 최씨마을에는 권처균의 직계손인 안동권씨 추밀공파가 세거하는 동성마을이 형성되었다. 17세기부터는 부계친족집단을 중시하는 사회사적 변화가 일어난다. 오죽헌은 이러한 시점에 권처균에게 상속되었고, 최씨마을이었던 죽헌동에 안동권씨 집거지인 동성마을이 만들어지는 시발이 되었다. 오죽헌은 조선전기에서 후기로 변화되는 상속 친족 혼인제도 등과 같은 사회의 변화상을 한눈에 읽어낼 수 있는 중요한 문화유산이다.

현대 패션 디자인의 그래픽 요소에 나타난 매개 소스별 미적 특성 -유희본능적 시각 표현을 중심으로- (Aesthetic Characteristics of Graphic Factor in Contemporary Fashion Design Categorized by Media Source -Focusing on Play-Instinct Visual Expression-)

  • The purpose for this paper is to categorize and analyze the aesthetic characteristics of graphic factors in contemporary fashion design by media source. Focused on play-instinct visual expression in contemporary fashion design and adopted media source following the way of communication design. A variety of literatures and online sites for graphic factors in contemporary fashion was studied. The standard of media source is classified as graphic media-source: photography media-source, typography media-source, illustration media-source. With this standard, expressed ways are as followings. First, graphic media-source in play-instinct expressional fashion design is mostly borrowing existed character or using designer's brand logo. Second, photography media-source in play-instinct expressional fashion design is placed photograph of social issued people in front of shirt. Third, typography media-source in play-instinct expressional contemporary fashion design is mostly expressed social messages or designer's name in brand. Fourth, illustration media-source is the best way to express play-instinct visual expression. Based on these, aesthetic characteristics of graphic factor in contemporary fashion by media source are classified as three: social words, playfulness and information transference. Frequency ratio using media source per aesthetic characteristics is different and these are able to categorize expression way and image feature. In conclusion, expressional way of graphic factors in contemporary fashion design became diverse as social and cultural changing. Frequency of graphic factor use in contemporary fashion is increased than before. This paper suggested that fashion design is one of the way of communicating with people and should be analyzed graphic factors in contemporary fashion design.

COLOGNE BRAND PREFERENCES OF TEENAGERS IN THE PHILIPPINES: MANAGERIAL IMPLICATIONS

  • Studies focusing on the constantly changing buying behavior and product preferences of a booming teen market are rare and this is particularly true in the Philippines. To address this gap in the literature, this study focused on the supermarket brands of cologne preferred by teens in the Philippines such as Lewis & Pearl (L&P), Johnson's Baby Cologne, Juicy, Bench, Ellips, Fiona, Bambini and Baby Flo which are manufactured by various competing companies. Essentially, this study presented and described the profile and buying behavior of cologne users and non-cologne users and determined whether preferential differences existed between these brands. The respondents consisted of 473 teens all over the Philippines stratified in terms of general location via the three major groups of islands in the Philippines: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Respondents came from selected schools in Quezon City in Metro Manila, Sariaya in Quezon Province, Cebu City, and Digos City to represent the Greater Metro Manila Area, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, respectively. Findings showed that almost all of the respondents used cologne at varying degrees. In general, teens use several scents and brands of cologne and continually shift from one scent/brand to another scent/brand. This made it difficult for any company to capture loyal consumers. The most popular brands used by teenagers were Bench (61.7%), Lewis and Pearl (59%), Juicy (42%), Afficionado (32%), Fiona (19.3%), Penshoppe (18%), Bambini (12.6%), Ellips (11.3%) and Zen Zest (7.5%). Fragrance or scent is the top priority of teenagers in choosing a cologne brand, followed by brand name, affordability, bottle design and endorser. The spray bottle type of colognes is preferred even if cologne spray bottles are priced higher than the splash cologne bottle type. Managerial implications of these findings for market players, marketing scholars and prospective investors are presented.
