  • The recent concept of kitchen is likely defined as "Kitchen Culture" including the function of living room where all families make a conversation as well as a dinner, and it is becoming another type of the residential environment, deviating from the stereotype as only cooking area. Particularly the comfortableness of living room is closely associated with a receipt function of kitchen, and the sort & dimension & size of furniture and diversity of shapes playa more meaningful role for improving our life standard & comfortableness compared with the past, nevertheless this receipt study is carelessly handled in the first phase of construction. This Study is focusing on understanding the modern concept of kitchen where the open space concept is being introduced as more reasonable space concept, and on suggesting a solution for receipt-function of the modern kitchen concept connected with "L-D-K (Living room - Dining room- Kitchen)" space idea. In the Chapter 2 the concept of receipt and function of kitchen, the wide variety of kitchen utensils was checked up, and in the Chapter 3 the change of trends of kitchen area & receipt space was considered, and finally in the Chapter 4 the modern concept of kitchen was presented, by instancing overseas examples with receipt planning. As a consequence, the alternative of the receipt in the modern kitchen is to install an Ireland table or another type of receipt-available table (lower furniture) in the dead space between kitchen & living room for motivating smooth communication and convenient receipt, and that is the trend nowadays. Kitchen desires a rapid change. Through this kind of study it should be more researched that kitchen is not an independent space any more and lies in the mutual connection of L-D-K.

Although activation of long life housing is urgent, domestically, immaturity of technology development and law and system are barrier to progression of long life housing. Increase of early construction expenses is also problematic in activation of long life housing. The purpose of this research is to clarify a necessity of long life housing, to provide high quality of sustainable residence and to protect environment. This research also suggests a need of change from previous housing to long life housing. Moreover, it will look at related law and system of domestic long life housing and compare it to international law and system. From this comparison, it will point out a need of improvement and suggest appropriate long life housing system.

This change demands new sort of analysis on space in order to design hotel lobby space which satisfies contemporarians' emotion. Hereupon, this article has its purpose of studying the characteristics of environment-friendly expression as a means to approach to the space design of hotel lobby space in which men and nature can coexist and men can be richer in their emotion. Moreover, through the flow and types of environment-friendly design, this study intends to emphasize the importance of introducing natural factors and suggest the possibility of diversification in environment-friendly expression.

  • The Living Lab, key elements are user involvement and experimentation in real life environment, is attracting public and academic attention as a crucial means of science and technology innovation and societal innovation. In recent years, there has also been a qualitative change, such as being utilized for social innovation and sustainable system transition. However, in the Living Lab approach, the paradox due to the tension between the different demands can appear in terms of homogeneity, user experience, conflict, commercialization, and diffusion of innovation. We need to understand and solve these paradoxes of Living Labs in order not only to solve social problems but also to be a good means of social innovation and sustainable system transition. Living labs are very useful instruments for solving certain types of problems, but they are not panacea. Living Labs, which still lack theoretical rationale and empirical results, need to accept and manage paradoxes to achieve results as a good means of social innovation.

The average size of the houses was 100.8 square meters. The mean residence period was 13.5 years. The sons were usually the legal householders. The residents who experienced remodeling before reassigned the furniture and installed the bathtub, which was designed to be sat on comfortably in a common. A few residents installed safety system such as alarms for incident fire or gas, convenient knobs for handling and faucets for running hot or cold water separately. After the installation of alarms, convenient knobs of windows or door, Customer satisfaction for those things were quite high. But that for the installation of safety bar were the lowest in contrast. The most things the old wanted to change were to rearrange bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor and to decorate them in westernized styles. • This study examined the nature of multi-cultural families' housing problems living in South Korea. A qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interviews with immigrant women from three Southeast Asian countries. The subjects of this study were 15 married immigrants from the Philippine, Cambodia, and Vietnam living in Seoul. The major findings were as follows: firstly, reciprocity for the in-between person and environment: the preferred to blend into Korean society instead of making a community based on national origin. Secondly, intention to housing: all participants were passive about moving and the Vietnamese and Cambodians placed more importance on the family community than the Filipinas. Thirdly, meaning of housing and interaction: for the most important area in the house, the Vietnamese and Cambodians stated that rooms were for a couple and treated family space more importantly than Filipinas who pursuit personal comfort. Fourthly, housing adaptation process: adapting to climate difference between home countries and Korea was the biggest difficulty. Fifthly, residential satisfaction/dissatisfaction: mostly satisfied with housing facilities; however, they were dissatisfied with the number of rooms and house size due to a necessity for personal space. In conclusion, ideas implied from native country of married immigrants in multicultural families did not change significantly in preference of the current environment. The needs for an ethnic community was not great, because they seemed able to assimilate positively by living with a Korean husband and relatives. Gradual assimilation through a cultural acculturation process can be considered desirable.

  • Atmospheric particles have a great deal of influences on the climate and the air quality, which change the living and industrial environments of a specific area. Especially, the suspended dusts and aerosols can often have a harmful influences on workers' health, equipments at working places. For this reasons, the measurement of atmospheric particle size distributions is of considerable current interest. (omitted)

  • Our natural desire to exuviate old theory and search for new ideas means conversion and reformation. Howev-er, the new idea of the present moment will soon become an ancient history when the next generation emerges with more advanced ideas. Naturally, we have learned to accept the past history and utilized it as a the foundation for the future. Through the repeated process of the learning method, the popula-tion cultivate themselves with proper understanding and appropriate attitude toward design. By analyzing social behaviors of the past and living conditions, we can ex-pand our imaginations beyond limits. Each society and its local condition have tremendous effects on the develop-ment and progress of artistic theories, techniques and craftsmanship, and potential design of every day use products. Today, interior design can not afford to ignore the or-ganic relationship of life style and space. Thus, the plan-ning of space means the planning of life style. Life style, as it is, has a vast definition and changes with time. That is why spaces, which consider the life style and its environment when designed, show different aspects ac-cording to its corresponding time. Interior design, in particular, differs by time and re-gion to create its unique style. The change in space is the natural result of the change in life style which again is sensitive to the change in cultural and environmental elements. Design is no longer designing of mere physical elements and environment. Design should be taken as the equivalent of creating spiritual culture.
