  • It is necessary to predict future water pollution sources in the establishment of Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) plan for watershed management. There are some difficulties and limits in estimating the pollution sources accurately since the prediction method is not firmly established. This study reviewed the existing methods of prediction and developed a technique characteristics. The characteristics were obtained by analyzing the change pattern of pollution sources by region and incorporated in the technique. A distinctive feature of the technique is to eliminate the influences of land use change included in the pollution source data of a region. The technique has been applied and tested. The test result showed the improvement on the prediction accuracy. A computer program was also developed for the easy application of the technique.

  • This article examined relationships between selected variables, such as demographic background, care, treatment variables, environmental characteristics, and patient's daily behavior and mood change. Relationship were determined between independent variabltherapeutic-rapeutie approach, demographic data, environmental management approach-,and dependent variable-patient's daily behavioral and mood change. 35 patients selected within some criteria in a psychiatric ward, were obserbed during 5 weeks by use of Wyatt's Behavior & Mood Rating Scale ac-cording to the object of the study. At the same time, the frequence of the care and treatment were collected. Criteria for sample selection and independent variables as an influential factor to the patient behavioral change, based on a literature revienw and clinical experiences. Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to determine the influfntial factors to the patient behavioral change. Systematic reading (r=.8324), Psychiatrist's individual interview (r=.5764), tranquilizer (r=.3441) and hospitalization processing date (r=.4143) were related with patient's behavioral change. That is these 4 variables can be said to influence to the patient's behavior and mood. A stepwise multiple regression analysis of the effect of the independent varibles of systematic reading, psychintrists individual interview, tranquilizer and hospitalization processing date on the dependent variable, patient's behavioral change was carried out. Systematic reading with on R²of. 69 revealed to be the main influential factor to the patient's behavior and mood change, as the next factor psychiatrist individual interview. A total inclusion of these factors revealed a 73% prediction for the patient's behavior and mood change. But the most influential factor was the interaction of the systematic reading and psychiatrist's individual interview.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the landscape characteristics by making DEM, land use map, and the land cover map on the Odesan national park, and to suggest the method of visual management through the visibility analysis. In the change of land use district, the natural environment district decreased, the natural preservation district extended relatively. It means that the tendency of preservation was strengthened. However, the development possibility has increased by increase as for the area of the village district. In the land cover change, it appeared agriculture area and city area increase in the natural environmental district. The most area where visible frequency appeared highly belonged to the natural preservation district and forest region. However some areas belonged to the natural environmental area, and continuous landscape management was required.

  • For the long-term strategic water resources planning, forecasting the future streamflow change is important to meet the demand of a growing society. The streamflow variation to the decade-long precipitation was investigated for the two major stage gauging stations in Korea. Precipitation and runoff characteristics have been analyzed at Yongwol stream stage in the Han River as well as Sutong stream stage in the Kum River for the future water resources management strategies. Monte Carlo method has been applied to estimate the future precipitation and runoff. Based on the trend line of 10-year moving average of runoff depth for the historical runoff records, the relation between runoff and the time variation was examined in more detail using regression analysis. This study showed that the surface flows have been significantly decreased while precipitation has been stable in these basins. Decreasing in runoff reflects the regional watershed characteristics such as forest cover changes. The findings of this study could contribute to the planning and development for the efficient water resources utilization.

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the clinical characteristics and mortality risk factors of geriatric hospital patients who visited one region-wide emergency department (ED). It's basically meant to develop criteria for the patient management of geriatric hospitals and to provide related information. Methods: A retrospective research study was implemented using electronic medical records. The subjects in this study included 484 geriatric hospital patients who were selected from among 15,994 patients that visited one region-wide ED between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2015. Results: There were significant differences in death, a change for the better and no change for the better, which were results of treatment, according to the length of stay in hospital, hospitalization in a general ward, not having an operation or surgery, the presence or absence of malignant neoplasm, the insertion of foley catheter, intubation, ventilator and the insertion of central venous catheter. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that a patient management system is necessary in geriatric hospitals and that competent healthcare workers who can properly respond to emergencies are required as well.

  • The objective of this study is to experimentally investigate the ion exchange characteristics of five types of Zeolite(Zeolite-A, 13X, Y, Mordenite, Chabazite) for effective removal of Cs, Sr and Co ions in water solution at low concentration(0.01 N and 0.005 N). Total ion exchange capacity and equilibrium isotherm are measured, and free-energy change(${\Delta}G^0$) and enthalpy change(${\Delta}H^0$) in ion exchange reaction are calculated from experimental results. In addition the ion exchange equilibrium in the three-component system for three types of zeolite showing better efficiency is measured and plotted in triangle coordinates. It is shown from experimental results that the magnitude of free-energy change increases with the increasing ion selectivity, and the difference of free energy change between ions correlates closely with that of ion selectivity. The results also shows that Chabazite is effective for the adsorption of Cs ion, and Zeolite-A and Zeolite-13X for that of Sr and Co ions.

  • The major purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the implementation performance of ERP Systems from an integrated viewpoint. For this purpose, a research model is developed based on the literature reviews of ERP systems, contingency theory, and change management theory. The research model proposed fifteen variables as the factors influencing the implementation performance in the ERP systems. The data have been collected from the 164 enterprises which implemented ERP systems at least one year ago. The respondents were person in charge of ERP system of each corporation. The results of hypothesis testing through multiple regression analysis are summarized as follows. Firstly, standardization of work, concentration of decision making, top management concern and support, real user participation, project support goodness, ease of use, and system usefulness have positive influence upon non-financial performance. Secondly, market uncertainty, industrial competition, project support goodness, and customization minimization have positive influence upon financial performance. From the analysis, this research have identified important characteristics for the successful implementation of ERP systems. Consequently, this research ends with managerial and theoretical implications of the study results, as well as limitations and future research directions.

  • The modern foraminiferal distribution patterns and species diversity in surrounding seas of Korea are controlled by winter monsoon and characteristics of water masses. Abrupt climate change, Younger Dryas cold episode" is identified in Korea. The Younger Dryas is characterized by local extinctions of foraminifera. Several record-breaking climate phenomena observed in Korea, especially September, 2007.

  • The SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) was applied to Princeton University campus, USA to predict the change of the runoff characteristics. Topography and infra structure of urban area are used in detail and watershed is made as form of regular square to improve the efficiency of data. Princeton campus was divided into 131 sub-basins and model input parameters were obtained from DEM (Digital Elevation Model), land use type, and campus management map, etc.. The model was validated based on the measured meteorological data. The validated model was used to analyze the change of the runoff characteristics according to urbanization, which are two different scenarios: 50% and 100% increase of impervious area. The increase of impervious area causes the increase of runoff, especially in the first-flush.
