  • The Four-Ball Tester has been widely used as a tool to charaterize lubricity for long time. In order to understand more acurate properties of lubricants, more test methods have been developed. Among the test methods, SRV test method was compared to Four-Ball Tester in this paper.

  • This report describes the adhesibility of the polyurea greases. Generally, Polyurea greases were divided into three classes, aliphatic, alicyclic, and aromatic, according to the differences of the terminal alkyl group. The adhesion properties of polyurea greases were tested with Adhesion Tester by In-house method.

조선중기 은거선비의 집터와 별자리의 관계 -장현광(張顯光)(1554-1637)의 "입암기(立巖記)"에 대해서 - (Astronomy and the Hermitages developed by Scholars in the Middle Era of Choseon -The case of Chang Hyon-gwang(1554-1637)-)

  • Ip-am valley, located at the eastern remote part of Korean peninsular was the place where a remarkable Confucian scholar Chang Hyon-gwang spent his secluded days. A large upright stone, called Ip-am, and undulating streams nearby were surrounded by mountains, which formed a large enclosed valley. After selecting 28 natural and artificial places, Chang named each of them. Chang compared the relationship between Ip-am and the 28 places with that of the Polestar and 28 Lunar Lodgings, which were known as the ancient Chinese astronomical concept. Also, Chang regarded the valley as a place where the Taoistic Deity could stay. Chang, who had deep knowledge of astronomy, wrote some books on it. It could be said that the comparison of his hermitages with the Polestar and the 28 Lunar Lodgings resulted from his deep passion for astronomy. He considered the Ip-am valley to be the core of the universe like the Polestar is the core of the celestial world. Some stars like the Polestar or the Dipper were regarded as the Deities of Taoism. We can find that Confucian scholars of the middle Choseon, like Chang Hyon-gwang, also tended to have some concern about Taoism.

  • This report describes the results of analysis, synthesis and evaluation of antimony dithiocarbamates (SbDTC). Sb-DTC were synthesized by reacting antimony oxide with dithiocarbamates whish were prepared by reaction of dialkylamines and carbon disulfide. The chemical structures and properties of synthesized Sb-DTCs in lab. were discussed. The frictional properties of SbDTC were tested with Four-Ball Wear Scar Tester and Four-Ball Extreme Tester by ASTM method.

음이온 모델 화합물 아마란스의 담즙배설에 미치는 타우로데옥시콜레이트의 영향 (Effect of Sodium Taurodeoxycholate on Biliary Excretion of Amaranth as an Anionic Model Drug in Rats)

  • Plasma disappearance of amaranth (AM), a model compound of organic anionic drugs, was retarded by intravenous infusion of taurodeoxycholate (TDC), a representative bile acid, in the rat. Biliary excretion accounted for 30-60% of the systemic excretion of AM. AM seemed to be metabolised in the hepatocyte to form a compound that is excreted more rapidly into the bile than AM itself, considering apparent biliary clearance, $CL_{bil}$, is much larger than systemic clearance, $CL_s$. Decrease in $CL_{bil}$ by TDC infusion might be due to elevated plasma level rather than decreased biliary excretion of AM. Decreased distribution or urinary excretion of AM by TDC was supposed to be one of the probable reasons of elevated plasma level. Competitive inhibition between AM and TDC on tissue distribution and urinary excretion might explain the mechanism. The effect of TDC on the $CL_{bil}$ of methylene blue, a cationic dye, was quite different from that of AM, as reported previously by us. More intensive study would be necessary to elucidate the difference of biliary excretion between organic anions and cations.

산림(山林)의 토양환경(土壤環境) 조건(條件)에 따른 수지상(樹枝狀) 균근(菌根)(AM)균(菌) 집단(集團)의 종(種) 다양성(多樣性) (Species Diversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Community Depending on Environmental Conditions of Forest Soils)

  • Arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi have significant role for ecosystem structure and function. They are the major component of forest soil ecosystems and critically important for water and nutrient cycling in the system. To understand the ecology of AM fungi the fungal spores were collected, identified and counted in forest soils under various climatic and edaphic conditions. In relation to soil depth 90% of AM fungi spores and mycorrhizas distributed within 15cm soil depth. Number of spores per $100m{\ell}$ forest soil volume was 5 to 36 spores from 1 to 3 fungal species. AM fungal species diversity was higher in warmer climates, and more moist and fertile soils. The most frequently found species were Gigaspora decipiens irrespective of soil moisture and Gi. gigantea irrespective of soil fertility. In the Jeju island the soils of Cryptomeria japonica plantations and Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens meadow had more AM spores than the other soils. We suggest AM fungi be considered as keystones species when restoring a disturbed forest ecosystem.

방사분석과 분광학을 이용한 Am(III) 가수분해와 옥살레이트 착물 화학종 연구 (Radioanalytical and Spectroscopic Characterizations of Hydroxo- and Oxalato-Am(III) Complexes)

  • 아메리슘(Am)은 사용후핵연료의 장기 방사성 독성에 크게 영향을 주기 때문에 고준위 방사성 폐기물 처분의 장기 안전성 평가에 필수적으로 고려되어야 할 원소이다. 분광학적 방법을 이용한 일부 악티나이드 원소의 화학반응 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 반면, 아메리슘에 대한 연구는 아직까지 미비한 상황이다. 이 연구에서는 고순도의 시료를 필요로 하는 화학반응 연구를 위하여 $^{241}Am$ 시료를 정제한 후, 액체섬광계수기와 감마선 및 알파선 스펙트럼을 이용하여 정량과 정성분석을 하였다. 액체 광도파 모세관 셀을 이용한 고감도의 UV-Vis 흡수 분광학과 시간분해 레이저 형광 분광학을 이용하여 Am(III) 가수분해물과 옥살레이트(oxalate, Ox) 착물반응을 조사하였다. 산성조건에서 $Am^{3+}$은 503 nm에서 최대 흡수봉우리를 보이며, 몰흡광계수는 $424{\pm}8cm^{-1}{\cdot}M^{-1}$임을 확인하였다. 중성 이상의 pH 조건에서 형성되는 $Am(OH)_3(s)$ 콜로이드 입자에서는 506-507 nm 파장에서 최대 흡수봉우리가 관측되었다. ${Am(Ox)_3}^{3-}$ 착물은 $Am^{3+}$에 비교하여 흡수 및 발광스펙트럼이 각각 4와 5 nm정도 장파장으로 이동하였고 몰흡광계수와 발광세기도 크게 증가하였다. ${Am(Ox)_3}^{3-}$의 발광수명은 23에서 56ns으로 증가하였고 이는 Am(III)의 내부권에 결합하고 있던 약 여섯 개의 물분자가 옥살레이트의 카르복실기로 치환되었음을 의미한다. 이 결과로부터 ${Am(Ox)_3}^{3-}$은 각 옥살레이트 리간드가 두 자리 결합(bidentate)을 하고 있다는 것을 제안하였다.
