The costume of Islam cultural area has been affected by the strict social structure, formed by religion, and traditional costume of Islam has been maintained up to these days under the influence of religion. Islam Traditional Costume, which is the succession of the traditional costume of southwest Asia region, became armed with the form of closed costume due to the chastity and oppression. There are figurative features of Islam Folk Costume; first, the dimensional form due to the ampleness, covering the body, second, the reinforcement of closed form such as chador and burqa, third, the symbolism such as the adornment or incantational ornament, which has been inherited from the former times of Islam era, fourth, the color, simplified with black and white. The aesthetic values of Islam folk costume are represented with 'The beauty of abstinency', suppressing the ornamentation and color, caused by the strict social atmosphere under the influence of the form of traditional costume and religion, 'The beauty of concealment' due to the closeness, with affluent costume forms, covering the body and even concealing the face, and 'The beauty of symbol' which is demonstrated with incantational ornamentation of face and interior decoration. In some nations amongst Islam nations, the wearing of hijab is strictly regulated but black chador and burqa are regarded as negative symbols, representing the closeness and oppression of Islam. It is the product of Orientalism from the western perspective. The Islam Hijab culture is the symbol of oppression towards women, but, on the other hand, it is the device to protect women and the traditional culture, symbolizing the identity.

중동지역은 PET 합섬직물이 이들의 평상복으로 많이 사용되고 있으며, 여성복은 차도르(Chador) 그리고 남성복은 토베(Thobe)라고 불려진다. 그리고 이들 PET 직물은 미세한 촉감특성에 따라서 수출가격의 큰 차이를 가져오며 원사의 특성과 제조공정 특성에 의해 미세한 감성촉감의 차이를 유발한다. 본 연구에서는 고가에 팔리고 있는 일본 데이진 제품과 비교하여 본 연구에서 개발된 중동 남성복 Thobe 제품의 감성특성을 분석하고 미세한 감성촉감의 원인을 규명하여 원사 및 최적 생산공정조건에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 일본 데이진 직물 4가지를 목표품질시료로서 준비하였고, 개발을 위한 시생산제품으로 5가지 직물을 시생산하였다. 실의 굵기, 꼬임수 그리고 실의 세팅조건 및 직물의 밀도 등을 바꾸어 연축과 직축 그리고 가공축 등의 설계조건을 바꾸어 주었다. 본 연구수행의 결과 데이진 Thobe 제품의 감성특성을 원사 및 직물에서 분석하고 이들 감성특성 분석 자료를 바탕으로 사가공(絲加工)기술과 3차원 직물설계 시뮬레이션 기술을 바탕으로 감성 토베 직물의 설계기술을 확립하였다.

본 연구에서는 아랍 중동지역 이슬람교 여성들이 착용하고 있는 베일이나 망토 형태의 전통의상(히잡(Hijab), 차도르(Chador), 아바야(Abaya) 등)에 사용되는 심색 제트블랙(Jet-Black) 소재를 개발하기 위하여, 고분자 조합에 의한 심초형 복합방사(POY 85/36) 및 열연신 복합가공사(ACY 135/72)를 개발, 심미적 심색성 및 세탁견뢰도가 우수한 Jet-Black 제품(L값 7.32)을 개발하였다.

The purpose of this study was to find out the symbolism of religious costume which has showed the religious belief system through costume practice and culture. Indian Religious costume each has its own mark was investigated in this study. In India, religion is a way of life. It is an integral part of the entire Indian tradition. The results were as follows; India's several main religions are Hinduism(About 80% of population) , Islam (About 11% of population) , Sikhism(less than 2% of population) , Jainism(less than 1% of population) , Buddhism(less than 1% of population) and Christianity(About 3% of population but excluding here) Religious faith system which symbolized Godhood, spiritualty, ascetics, restraint, chastity, sacred and dignity gave a certain shape to each color, ornaments, dressing and marking of religion costume. In connection with religion costumes, there were Hindu's Tika, sacred ash, long hair, knot and holy band (Yajnopavita) , Buddhist's kayysa and tonsures, Jams' no covering, Muslim's chador and skullcap, Sikh's turban (with no cutting hair) , comb, steel bracelet, drawers, sword or dagger. The characteristics, head especially of thebody and white in the colors were made much account for India religion costume. Traditional costume seems to be worn at the present times in India. But apparently these costume associated with religion costume because of Hindu more than 80% of population.

영국 태생의 이란인 2세 애나 릴리 아미푸르 감독의 뱀파이어 영화 <밤을 걷는 뱀파이어 소녀 A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night>(2014)는 이란인들이 사는 유령마을(Iranian ghost-town) '배드 시티'를 배경으로 스트라이프 티셔츠를 입고 검은 차도르를 두른 채 스케이트보드를 타는 여성 뱀파이어를 등장시켜 여러 문화의 재조합이 어떻게 문화·정치적으로 흥미로운 해석을 만들어내는지 시도하고 있다. 전통적인 호러 영화에서 흡혈귀 서사의 중심에는 주로 타자로서의 드라큘라-남성이 있었으나 포스트모더니즘 이후의 영화들은 희생자 캐릭터에 머물러 있던 여성을 뱀파이어 주체로 자리를 옮기는 시도를 한다. 본 영화의 주인공 소녀는 보수적인 가부장 사회의 여성-무슬림-뱀파이어로 여성을 향해 폭력을 행사하는 남성을 처단한다. 흑백으로 촬영한 영상은 스토리보다는 이미지를 앞세우며 이란계 배우들이 등장해 페르시아어로 대화한다. 또한, 이란의 저항적인 록음악과 영국 스타일의 테크노 팝이 어우러져 이란의 정치학과 미국-유럽의 팝 컬처를 크로스 오버한다. 본 연구는 뱀파이어 영화의 전통적인 관습을 따르지 않으면서 장르 혼성과 여러 문화적 도상을 내세우며 뱀파이어의 소재의 이야기를 동시대의 문제의식으로 전환하고 이식해내는 데 성공한 <밤을 걷는 뱀파이어 소녀>에 특징적으로 나타난 스타일에 주목해 분석해보고자 한다.
