Standards for Endovascular Neurosurgical Training and Certification of the Society of Korean Endovascular Neurosurgeons 2013

  • The need for standard endovascular neurosurgical (ENS) training programs and certification in Korea cannot be overlooked due to the increasing number of ENS specialists and the expanding ENS field. The Society of Korean Endovascular Neurosurgeons (SKEN) Certification Committee has prepared training programs and certification since 2010, and the first certificates were issued in 2013. A task force team (TFT) was organized in August 2010 to develop training programs and certification. TFT members researched programs and systems in other countries to develop a program that best suited Korea. After 2 years, a rough draft of the ENS training and certification regulations were prepared, and the standard training program title was decided. The SKEN Certification Committee made an official announcement about the certification program in March 2013. The final certification regulations comprised three major parts: certified endovascular neurosurgeons (EN), certified ENS institutions, and certified ENS training institutions. Applications have been evaluated and the results were announced in June 2013 as follows: 126 members received EN certification and 55 hospitals became ENS-certified institutions. The SKEN has established standard ENS training programs together with a certification system, and it is expected that they will advance the field of ENS to enhance public health and safety in Korea.

  • The purpose of the study is to improve in-service fisheries & shipping affiliate teachers informative and professional presentation. The sensible solution to this problem is to analyze about the opinion of in-service fisheries & shipping affiliate teachers about Certification Training Program during 10 years. We provide the suggestion about the coming certification training program that satisfy the need of the trainee and that can be effectively applied into practical teaching movement in school. According to these conclusion, it is estimated that in-service fisheries & marine teacher don't have the negative view of certification training program. By the way Combination subject education program was significantly improved by developing the program on the basis of the fisheries & shipping affiliate teachers' opinion.

의학유전학 전문인력 교육프로그램의 개발과 인증에 관한 연구 (Development of medical genetics training program and certification process for medical geneticist as a specialist in Korea)

  • Purpose : This study was undertaken to provide prerequisites for accreditation of medical genetics training program and certification process for medical genetics professionals as clinical specialist and set up guidelines on curriculum of medical genetics training program in Korea. Methods : Six ad hoc committees for clinical geneticist, clinical cytogeneticist, clinical molecular geneticist, clinical biochemical geneticist, medical genetics technologists and genetic counselors were organized for reviewing current status in Korea as well as foreign countries. Each committee is composed of 6-8 members. They summarized their opinions according to the structured questionnaire inquiring the ways of accrediting training program, qualification of program director, trainee requirements, contents of curriculum, duration of training program, certification process, estimation of numbers of each specialist needed in next 5 years in Korea. Results : Both prerequisites for the accreditation of medical geneticist training institutions and qualification of program director are suggested. Candidacy of trainees requires MD with board of medical specialty, or PhD degree with professional experiences in related field except clinical genetics program which only accepts MD with board of medical specialty, and Non-MD genetic counselor and medical technologists with degrees of BS or MS. General duration of fellowship will be 2-3 years depending on the categories they are enrolled into. Contents of curriculum for each speciality training are described. For the certification of each category, the candidacy should submit a log book detailing the cases they experienced during the fellowship, prove that they successfully completed course work and clinical experiences in the accredited program, and pass the written examination. Conclusion : As medical genetics becomes more important in daily routine clinical practice, the accreditation of medical genetics training program and certification of personnel are urgently needed. In this regard, the study will be providing guidelines and prerequisites for accreditation of medical genetics training program and certification process for medical genetics professionals as clinical specialist.

가정전문간호사 교육프로그램 인정기준 및 표준 교육과정 개발 (The Development of Certificates Criteria and Curriculum in Home Healthcare Nurse Specialist Program)

  • Purpose: To make a contribution to raising the quality of nursing and home healthcare services through reviewing the present state of home healthcare nurse specialist training institutions and education programs and creating concrete measures to establish high-quality education courses. Method: International comparative study of accreditation criteria and curriculum in home healthcare nurse specialist program. Result: The Authorization Standards of home healthcare nurse training institutions consists of 8 items, 23 evaluation criteria and 72 evaluation indexes. Proposal to develop a specialist training program: Curriculum. Modify and complement a present homecare nurse education program. Curriculum I. Designate two forms of certification. The first certification has been granted the authority to serve as a manager and open a home healthcare agency to nurses having masters degrees and clinical experience for five years. The second certification is allowed to perform general home healthcare after having completed a short term training course. Currculum 2. To meet increasing demands, granting a certification to perform home healthcare to registered nurses having clinical experience of more than three years. Conclusion: These results can be utilized in the home healthcare educational program for raising the quality of nurses and home healthcare services.

국내 수목원 전문인력 교육과정의 분석과 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis and Utilization of Gardener Training Program in Korea)

  • In connection with biodiversity that has recently become the topic, competition to secure biological genetic resources is being heightened all over the world. Korea also has a variety of efforts to secure and preserve plant genetic resources, and has recognized the importance of the function and role of arboretums. Arboretums in Korea, however, have the problems in terms of quality due to the rapid increase. One of the problems is shortages in experts who are essential for the proper functioning of arboretums. To solve the problem, the State introduced Gardener Training Program certification system and started to train gardeners. However, gardeners who have actually employed at arboretums are less than 20% and thus the problem of shortages in experts still exists. In this context, this study examined 44 registered arboretums in Korea to find out the current situation of experts; analyzed arboretum experts and the program certification system in view of relevant laws; and investigated the current situation of training programs being operated in three Gardener Training Program certification organizations. Finally, this study conducted a survey of 68 gardeners who completed the training program at Chollipo Arboretum and tried to suggest a plan for securing experts from the gardener training programs. The plan for utilizing the trained gardeners as experts in arboretums is as follows: First, legal standards for the employment of experts in arboretums should be strengthened. Second, it is necessary to evaluate training programs, in order to raise the reliability of arboretum experts' expertise. Third, official validity that can be honored in all arboretums should be granted to a certificate of program completion. Finally, networks of gardeners who completed the programs should be formed through follow-up management of them.

A Study on the Improvement of On-board Training Program through the Analysis of Satisfaction Level

  • The educational process and result of onboard training should be evaluated according to the 1995 Amendments to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for seafarers(STCW), 1978. In particular, the revised Convention requires that a trainee's seagoing service must be recorded in each cadet's Training Record Book approved by the maritime administration responsible for the issuance of certificates of competency. Trainees for certification under regulation III/1 of the STCW Convention are required to complete an approved on-board training programme. The purpose of this paper is to understand the compliance of the education for an approved on-board training programme. The questionnaire was distributed among 110 cadets being trained on board the training ship of the maritime college of the Mokpo National Maritime University. In this study, we conducted the questionnaire survey which is related to the on-board training programme such as marine engineering; controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board; electrical, electronic and control engineering; etc. The survey revealed that onboard training program was normally satisfactory, however, lack of practical training tools and time have accounted for most of the reasons for dissatisfaction. Therefore, it is our goal to enhance the satisfactory value of onboard training education by analyzing the reason of the dissatisfaction.

부조종사 자격증명(Multi-Crew Pilot License) 제도에 대한 국내 항공종사자 인식도 및 수요도 분석 (An Analysis of Domestic Airmen's Awareness and Demand for Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) Certification System)

  • A survey was conducted on the awareness and demand for the Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL) to prepare the legal institutional basis for the MPL certification system. A total of 288 airmen were asked questions about the awareness and demand of the MPL certification system, and factors affecting the establishment and participation of MPL training programs. The survey results show the understanding of the MPL certification system is significantly lower than that of the current pilot certification system. The demand for the MPL training program was found to be significant, trainees and low-skilled airmen was greater demand. The factor that has the greatest influence on the establishment and participation of the MPL training program was identified as employment connection (airline recruiting). It is expected that the result of this study will be used as basic data necessary for establishing MPL certification system policy.

유전상담 교육프로그램 개발과 전문유전상담사 학회인증제도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Genetic Counseling Curriculum, Accreditation of the Training Program, and the Certification Process of Genetic Counselors in Korea)

  • 목 적: 국내실정에 맞는 전문 유전상담사 교육프로그램과 교육기관의 인정 및 유전상담사의 전문 자격 인증 제도를 설립에 근거자료로 활용하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 국외의 유전상담사 교육 프로그램 인정과 유전상담사 인증 제도를 파악하고, 관련 업무 종사자에게 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 전문가 회의를 통해 도출된 의견을 분석하였다. 결 과: 인정받은 교육기관 수료자만을 인증시험요건으로 규정한 미국과는 달리, 일본은 관련 분야의 임상경력을 갖춘자에게도 한시적으로 인증시험 자격을 부여하였다. 일본은 필기와 면접시험으로, 미국은 필기시험으로 인증 시험이 진행되고 있으며, 주기는 미국 2년, 일본 1년, 인증기간은 미국 10년, 일본 5년이었다. 설문조사에서는 '대한의학유전학회에서 위원회를 구성하여 교육기관 인정과 전문 유전상담사 인증을 담당하며, 관련학회의 의견수렴과 자문을 얻는다'에 대다수가 찬성하였다. 지원자의 전공은 제한할 필요가 없으며, 인증시험은 필기와 실기로 이루어져야하고 주기는 2년, 인증기간은 5년이 적당하다는 응답이 가장 많았다. 결 론: 유전상담 교육기관 및 유전상담사 인증 제도는 대한 의학유전학회에서 주관하며, 미국과 일본의 프로그램을 참고하여 국내실정에 맞게 도입한다. 대한의학유전학회에서는 위원회를 구성하여 관련 학회 등의 의견수렴과 자문을 얻어 교육프로그램 개발과 인증 제도를 구체화 할 것을 촉구하는 동시에 정부에서도 유전상담의 급여화와 필요한 제도적인 지원이 있어야만 국내의 유전의료의 발전에 필요한 인프라 구축의 내실을 다질 수 있게 될 것이다.

역량기반 대학생 또래교수(Peer tutor) 양성교육 지원체제 구축 : A대학 사례를 중심으로 (Establishment a System for a Competency-based Peer Tutor Training Program : Focusing on the case of A University)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 A대학의 특성을 반영한 또래교수 양성 교육과정을 개발하고, 지속적인 또래교수 양성을 위한 체제를 마련하는데 있다. 본 연구는 2019년 1월부터 2022년 2월에 걸쳐 약 2년간 실시되었다. 교육과정 및 체제 개발, 운영 및 평가, 수정 및 보완의 절차로 진행되었으며, 심층면담, 설문조사, 문헌조사, 전문가 조사 등의 연구방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 심층면담과 또래교수 역량의 교육요구도 순위를 종합하여 연구진은 또래교수 양성 교육과정과 인증제를 설계하였으며, 개발된 교육과정과 인증제에 대해 전문가 조사를 실시하여 전문성을 인정받았다. 둘째, 2020년 3월부터 2022년 2월 말까지 또래교수 양성교육 및 인증제를 운영하였으며, 학생들을 대상으로 한 만족도조사 결과, 20년도에는 평균 4.33점, 21년에는 평균 4.61점으로 나타나 양성교육에 대한 만족도는 높은 편으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생 또래교수 양성 교육과정과 체제에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

사회 환경교육 지도자의 자격 제도 개발 (Development of the Certification System for Non-formal Environmental Education Educators)

  • This study is designed to develop a certification system for non-formal environmental education educators as part of efforts to nurture non-formal environmental education educators, increase public trust in non-formal environmental education educators and secure structure and sustainability of non-formal environmental education. The job of non-formal environmental education educators-distant from technical expertise functions that are dealt with by existing certification system - belongs to education and service industry, And the certification system I try to develop is different from existing exclusive certification system based on written tests. It is rather an authentication system based on capability development. So its components are somewhat different from those of existing certification system. However, I also tried to ensure that the system should include components which were supposed to be part of basic certification system. The certification system for non-formal environmental education educators in the study is focused on developing a framework for basic certification system. Therefore, I believe that follow up studies may be needed to address execution, i.e., specific evaluation criteria to select organizations in charge of certification system and education course/program respectively, criteria to select instructors who will lead training course/program and decision on whether experiences as eco-guide or nature experience guide should be recognized as experiences for non-formal environmental education educator etc.
