Purpose: In this study, we tried to compare marginal accuracy when produce ceramic crown using all ceramic materials and existent metal-ceramic system. Material and methods: All-ceramic systems were E-max (Ivoclar/Vivadent, Lichtenstein), Lava(3M, U.S.A.) and Wol-ceram(Teamziereis, Germany). Metal-ceramic system(PFG) was composed of Au-Pt alloy (Metalor, Switzerlandand) and overlying ceramic(D-sign, Ivoclar/Vivadent, Lichtenstein). We fabricated metal master die with upper diameter of 7.95mm, bottom diameter of 9.00mm, height of 5.00mm, and taper of $6^{\circ}$. All ceramic system used 0.5mm thickness ceramic coping, while metalceramic system used 0.3 thickness metal coping. By adding dentin and enamel ceramics on each coping, a crown with a proximal thickness of 1.0 mm and occlusal thickness of 2.0mm was fabricated. Pressure of 2kg was applied for 10 seconds on each crown with static load compressor. Before and after cementation, we measured the marginal gap at 4 points of each crown using optical microscope. The data was analyzed using a Student's t test and repeated-measures of analyses of variance(ANOVA) followed by a Bonferroni test. A p value<0.05 was considered significant. Results: As experiment results, marginal accuracy of wol-ceram and Lava is no good when compared with marginal accuracy of PFG. But marginal accuracy of E.max is good when compared with PFG. This result showed not significant. The marginal accuracy of E.max is good when compared with marginal accuracy of wol-ceram and Lava. Conclusion: The marginal accuracy of E.max is very good when compared with marginal accuracy of another group.

It is well known that water jetting is now widely used in the advanced cutting processes of polymers, metals, glass, ceramics, and composite materials because of some advantages, such as heatless and non-contacting cutting different from the laser beam machining. In this paper, we proposed the simulation model of waterjet by lengths and the inner spiral structure of the nozzle. The simulation results show that the outlet velocity of the nozzle is faster than the inlet. Furthermore, we found rapid velocity reduction after passing through the outlet. The nozzle of diameter ${\phi}500$ and length 70mm, shows the optimal fluid width and velocity distribution. Also, the nozzle with inner spiral structure shows a Gaussian distribution of velocity and this model is almost twice as fast as the model without spiral structure, within the effective standoff distance (2.5 mm). In the future, when inserting abrasive material into the waterjet, we plan to analyze the fluid flow and the particle behavior through a simulation model.
Dielectric and pyroelectric properties of relaxor ferroelectric in the PMN-PT solid solution series have been investigated. Features of the diffuse phase transition in PMN-PT system, typical relaxor ferroelectric materials, were studied as a function of temperature and frequency. The transition temperature of the ceramics with PT$\sim$0.325 did not depend on the measuring frequency. This can best realized in a relatively random environment that apparently is provided by PMN-rich complex perovskites, including those containing Pb. The composition with PT>0.35 show the characteristics of a normal single phase ferroelectric material. Thus the studies revealed that the morphotropic phase boundary in the PMN-PT system is in the vicinity of PT$\sim$0.3 and it has a small curvature and as a result the compositions near the morphotropic phase boundary show two phase transitions, rhombohedral$\rightarrow$tetragonal$\rightarrow$cubic, when the samples are heated up to higher temperature. The best optimum compositions are observed near the morphotropic phase boundary.
With the increase of esthetic demands, most patients want to have restorations which are not only functional but also esthetic. For the esthetic restoration, many ceramic systems have been introduced and applied in dentistry. Among those ceramic restorations, IPS e.max system composed of lithium disilicate glass ceramic is one of the most commonly used systems because it has strength and esthetic characteristics. IPS e.max system is divided into IPS e.max Press and IPS e.max CAD according to the manufacturing methods. IPS e.max Press is fabricated through heat-pressed technique with ceramic ingot, which is very simple. The restorations which are made using IPS e.max system can apply to 3 units restoration for the anterior teeth and premolar, and single posterior tooth restoration. Cementation is one of the most important clinic procedure for the longevity of the restorations. All ceramics are bonded by resin cements, it is classified into three groups including adhesive, self-adhesive, and conventional. Variolink N, which is an adhesive resin cement and manufactured by same company with IPS e.max, is recommended for the bonding of IPS e.max restoration. Conventional and self-adhesive resin cement is also available. The aim of this review article is to provide the understanding of material properties, production procedure and clinical application of IPS e.max system.
People could not imagine living without tab water. However, the water filtering process at a purification plant used to produce tab water creates tons of sludge, which is generally wasted. This sludge waste consists of (1) mineral elements, such as sand, (2) organic materials, and (3) a coagulant, which agglomerates the two. As an enormous amount of sludge waste is generated every year, numerous studies have been carried out to identify how to deal with this problem. Currently, however, most of the sludge waste is directly discarded in landfills. In the present study, water-purified sludge waste received a heat treatment at $1300^{\circ}C$ and was then ground into particles to be used as a ceramic material. Next, the resultant particles were compounded with chamotte substitutes to produce grogged clay that is suitable for wheel-throwing ceramics. Consequently, the plasticity of the sludge waste decreased as the content of calcination increased. Thus, it is considered that wheel throwing is available only up to PBF-3. Thus, it is available for wheel throwing and has a high strength of 864 $kgf/cm^2$ with less than 0.2 percent of porosity and absorption ratio were displayed in PBF-2 at $1280^{\circ}C$ with 20 percent of calcination from the purified sludge. Therefore, the PBF-2 body produced in this study was considered to be capable of replacing grogged clay in the market.
LSGM(($La_xSr_{1-x})(Ga_yMg_{1-y})O_3$) electrolyte is known to show very serious interfacial reaction with other unit cell components, especially with an anode. Such an interfacial reaction induced the phase instability of constituent component and deterioration of the unit cell performance, which become the most challenging issues in LSGM-based SOFCs. In this study, we fabricated LSGM($La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Ga_{0.83}Mg_{0.17}O_x$) electrolyte supported-type cell in order to avoid such interfacial problem by lowering the heat-treatment temperature of the electrode fabrication. According to the microstructural and phase analysis, there was no serious interfacial reaction at both electrolyte/anode and electrolyte/cathode interfaces. Moreover, from the electrochemical characterization of the unit cell performance, there was no distinct deterioration of the open cell voltage as well as an internal cell resistance. These results demonstrate the most critical point to be concerned in LSGM-based SOFC is either to find a proper electrode material which will not give any interfacial reaction with LSGM electrolyte or to properly adjust the processing variables for unit cell fabrication, to reduce the interfacial reaction.
Modern ceramics is exploring the expansion of the area with various expression techniques. The silhouette technique among various expressive decoration techniques is a representative expression technique of object form expression. This emphasizes the outline of the form and expresses it and omits the inner form. It gives simplicity and intensity, and awakens aesthetic sensibility and imagination. Therefore, the researcher designed the material related to the core image of the story by designing it as a silhouette technique by using the "Acorn Story" as a subject and then making the transfer paper by using the vector graphic. The transferred paper was expressed on a ceramic plate by transferring technique. Therefore, I hope that this research, beyond the merely decorative function of ceramic expression, will become a ceramic design that will awaken imagination and aesthetic sensibility in digital information age.

Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) was used to monitor the response of vesicle size and the intervesicle agglomeration with a variety of experimental parameters. Considered parameters are: (a) reaction temperture, (b) concentration of phosphatidylcholine, (c) concentration of aluminum ion with fixed concentration of phosphatidylcholine at 0.39 mM, and (d) mixed concentration of aluminum and phosphatidylcholine when fixing the weight ratio of phosphatidylcholine to aluminum at 0.01. Controlling these parameters, vesicle size changed and intervesicle agglomeration observed. As reaction temperature and the concentration of phosphatidylcholine increase, vesicle size decreases. With 0.2 M of aluminum ion, abnormal vesicle growth led by intervesicle agglomeration and coalescence was observed. When weight ratio of phosphatidylcholine to aluminum is 0.01, optimal vesicle size and size distribution can be obtained.
PbTiO$_{3}$-PbZrO$_{3}$-Pb(Ni$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3/O$_{3}$) (PZT-PNN) thin films were prepared from corresponding metal organics partially stabilized with diethanolamine by the sol-gel spin coating method. Each mol ratio of PT:PZ:PNN solutions were #1(50:40:10), #2(50:30:20), #3(45:35:20), #4(40:40:20), #5(40:50:10), #6(35:45:20) and #7(30:50:20) respectively. The spin-coated PZT-PNN films were heat-treated at 350.deg. C for decomposition of residual organics, and were sintered from 450.deg. C to 750.deg. C for crystallization. The substrates, such as Pt and Pt/TiN/Ti/TiN/Si were used for the spin coating of PZT PNN films. The perovskite phase was observed in the PZT-PNN films heat-treated at 500.deg. C. The crystalline of the PZT-PNN films was optimized at the sintering of 700.deg. C. By the result of AES analysis, It is confirmed that the films of TiN/Ti/TiN was a good diffusion barrier and that co-diffusion into the each films was not observed.

In this paper simulations for the impact into ceramics and/or metal materials have been discussed. To model discrete nature for fracture and damage of brittle materials, we implemented cohesive-law fracture model with a node separation algorithm for the tensile failure and Mohr-Coulomb model for the compressive loading. The drawback of this scheme is that it requires a heavy computational time. This is because new nodes are generated continuously whenever a new crack surface is created. In order to reduce the amount of calculation, parallelization with MPI library has been implemented. For the high-speed impact problems, the mesh configuration and contact calculation changes continuously as time step advances and it causes unbalance of computational load of each processor. Dynamic load balancing technique which re-allocates the loading dynamically is used to achieve good parallel performance. Some impact problems have been simulated and the parallel performance and accuracy of the solutions are discussed.
