  • In this study, in order to develop high sensitivity and low noise acoustic emission sensor, we manufactured the Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$ ceramics with the addition of WO$_3$ wt% to search for its required characteristics. Dielectric constant was increased as a function of the increase of WO$_3$ wt%. The Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$ (EC-65) ceramics added with 0.1lwt% WO$_3$ showed excellent dielectric constant and piezoelectric constants of 1931 and 199.55$\times$10$^{-12}$ (C/N), respectively. Accordingly It was shown as the composition ceramics suitable for AE sensor.

  • We prepared 0~20mo1% WO$_3$added ZnO composite ceramics in order to promote a CO gas sensitivity. Using SE,. we observed the microstructure of sample. The resistances of sample were measured by High Voltage Measure/source Unit in the temperature range of +5V~-5V. The measured 1000ppm CO sensitivities of pure ZnO were about 1~4.3, and the measured 1000ppm CO sensitivities of ZnO-WO$_3$composite ceramics were about 1~8.2. Therefore, the 1000ppm CO sensitivities of ZnO-WO$_3$composite ceramics were about 2 times larger than that of pure ZnO.

  • The crystallization behavior and dc Conductivities of CuO-P$_2$O$_{5}$ -Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ -V$_2$O$_{5}$ glasses prepared by quenching on the copper plate were investigated. The conductivities of the glasses were range from 10$^{-5}$ s.$cm^{-1}$ / at room temperature, but the conductivities of the glass-ceramics were 10$^{-3}$ s.$cm^{-1}$ / increased by 10$^2$order. The crystalline product in the glass-ceramics was CuV$_2$O$_{6}$ . The linear relationship between in($\sigma$T) and T$^{-1}$ suggested that the electrical conduction in the present glass-ceramics would be due to a small polaron hopping mechanism.

  • The low temperature sintering of dolomite type borates, $CaZr(BO_3)_2$[CZB] ceramics and their microwave dielectric properties were investigated The sintering temperature of CZB ceramics could be reduced from $1150^{\circ}C$ to $925^{\circ}C$ by the addition of sintering additive. $CaZrO_3$, $ZrO_2$ and $CaB_2O_4$ second phases were found in the CZB ceramics. The syntheses, sintering properties, microstructures, and dielectricnproperties of dolomite-type borates were examined by XRD, thermal analysis, electron microscopy, network analyzer, and the results are discussed intensively. The compatibility with silver electrode was also explored.

  • In this study, a single phase driven piezoelectric motor design is presented for linear motion-metal/ ceramics composite structure. Using ANSYS finite element analysis software, mode shape of free motor was obtained to clarify the working principle of this motor. And characteristics of the motor was measured. The motor is composed of a piezoelectric ceramic, a metal ring which has 4 arms, and a guider. The motor with 25.0[mm] diameter was studied by finite element analysis and experimentation too. As a result, the motor was expressed the best speed in resonance frequency. And according as voltage of the motor increase, the speed increased by ratio.

  • In this study, in order to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics, PZT ceramics adding $MnO_2$, $B_2O_3$ were manufactured, and their piezoelectric and dielectric properties is investigated. The results of this study were gotten such as follows. The electromechanical coupling coefficient(kp) showed good properties on the whole, showed its maximum value 28.266 in specimens sintered at 1200[$^{\circ}C$]. The mechanical quality coefficient(Qm) showed its maximum value 162.61 in specimens sintered at 1200[$^{\circ}C$] and was increased by increasing sintering temperature. The dielectric constant showed the optimum values of 538.903 at specimen sintered at $1000^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, residual stress and surface roughness were investigated experimentally to evaluate surface integrity on surface layer machined by CBN, ceramics and WC cutting tools. When machining difficult-to-cut material (hardened STD11 steel $H_{R}$C 60), residual stresses remaining in machined surface layer were mainly compressive. The increase of flank wear caused a shift of the compressive residual stress maximum to greater workpiece depths, but the changes did not penetrate the workpiece beneath a depth of 300 .mu. m. Surface roughness was influenced considerably by variations of the cutting speed and feed. In machining hard material, CBN and A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$ ceramics cutting tool materials proved significantly superior to mixed ceramics A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$-TiC and WC in evaluation of surface integrity.y.

  • Piezoelectric actuators, which utilize piezoelectric crystals or ceramics, are commonly used in precision positioning applications, offering high-speed response and precise control. However, the use of low-performance ceramics and expensive single crystals is limiting their versatile use in the actuator market, necessitating the development of both high-performance and cost-effective piezoelectric materials capable of delivering higher forces and displacements. The use of textured Pb (lead)-based piezoelectric ceramics formed by so-called templated grain growth method has been identified as a promising strategy to address the performance and cost issue. This review article provides insights into recent advances in texturing Pb-based piezoelectric ceramics for improved performance in actuation applications. We discussed the relevant issues in detail focusing on current challenges and emerging trends in the textured piezoelectric ceramics for their reliability and performance in actuator applications. We discussed in detail focusing on current challenges and emerging trends of textured piezoelectric ceramics for their reliability and performance in actuator applications. In conclusion, the article provides an outlook on the future direction of textured piezoelectric ceramics in actuator applications, highlighting the potential for further success in this field.

  • Aluminium titanate is highly anisotropic in thermal expansion. As a result, thermal stresses build up in the material and intergranular cracks can develop. Both the outstanding thermal shock resistance and the low mechanical strength of aluminium titanate ceramics are a result of intergranular microcracking. The authors have previously identified a possibility of remarkably increasing fracture toughness of aluminium titanate without excessive penalty on strength. The paper shows that sintered density and porosity measurements can be used for optimizing the sintering and microstructure of aluminium titanate for an ideal balance between toughness and strength and, hence, the best thermal shock resistance.

  • It is well known that Zinc Oxide (ZnO) is an attractive material for its various applications. ZnO has been mostly used as a transparent conducting oxide in liquid crystal displays, solar cells due to its advantages of low cost, high productivity, and excellent electrical conductivity. Notably, flexible-dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates require low temperature sintering processing conditions. Therefore, low temperature processing conditions have been strongly required for transparent conducting film applications. In this paper, we prepared low temperature-sintered ZnO ceramics employing Li as a sintering aid.
