Waste concrete powder(WCP) has been estimated with a great value-added material as by-product of waste concrete manufactured to fine and coarse aggregate for concrete, because it is able to utilized for cement clinker and concrete admixture. Experimental tests were performed as such plastic viscosity of paste, flow and compressive strength of mortar by surface area of WCP. As a result, flow and 28days compressive strength of mortar was decreased according to increased replacement ratio of WCP as compared to control mortar. Also, plastic viscosity of paste used WCP1 and WCP2 was decreased with increasing replacement ratio, but WCP3 was increased with increasing replacement ratio.

Recently, supplementary cementitious materials such as blast-furnace slag, fly ash and silica fume have been widely used as substitutes for cementitious materials. In this study, the deformation behavior of compressive loading of C3S paste with 50% fly ash was analyzed by X-ray scattering data and pair distribution function analysis. The obtained results were compared with 131-day-old pure C3S paste. The Ca(OH)2 of the C3S-FA paste showed almost complete elastic behavior, consistent with the deformation behavior of the r-range of 20 to 40, and the C-S-H phase contributed to the range of PDF r-range of less than 20. In addition, C-S-H of C3S-FA showed greater deformation resistance than C3S paste.

Recently, there has been a growing interest in the development of non-sintered binder to reduce CO2 emissions from the cement clinker manufacturing process and a number of studies have been conducted on fly ashes as an industrial by-product. However, in order to utilize fly ashes as a non-sintered binder, it is necessary to solve problems such as safety issues and economical efficiency due to use of an alkali activator. This study evaluates the material properties and compressive strength characteristics of three types of circulating fluidized bed boiler ashes. As a result, it was confirmed that the characteristics of each binder vary depending on the location of the power plant and the types of raw materials. In addition, it has been confirmed that the fluidized bed boiler ash shows a high compressive strength and can be used sufficiently as an non-sintered binder.
The investigations have been carried out to study the characteristics of limestone using in Korean cement industry with prime interests in the dissociation and thermal phase changes of limestone between 90$0^{\circ}C$ and 140$0^{\circ}C$ The range of decomposition temperature of limestone was 840-87$0^{\circ}C$ and it was considered that the temperature was lowered by impurities in the limestone. The more the impurities and the finer the grain size of quartz in limestone the lower temperature was applied in forming $C_2S$ mineral the temperature of about 100$0^{\circ}C$. The major clinker minerals such as $C_3S$, $C_2S$, $C_3A$ and $C_4AF$ were formed in most of limestone when the firing temperature was up to 130$0^{\circ}C$.
In this study we mainly dealt with the effects of organic retarder(calcium lignosulfate) on the early hydration process of clinker minerals. From a consideration of the hydration process of tricalcium silicate $(C_3S)$ tricalcium silicate $(C_3S)$-tricalcium aluminate $(C_3A)$ tricalcium silicate $(C_3S)$-tetracalcium aluminof-errite $(C_4AF)$ systems with calcium lignosulfate the following results were obtained. 1. when 0.25wt% of CLS was added to $C_3S$ the hydration process was progressed normally but adding of 0.5wt% its hydration was greatly retarded. 2. The hydration of $C_3S$-$C_3A$ system was progressed normally up to 0.5wt% but by adding gypsum its hydration was retarded slightly. 3. The hydration of $C_3S$-$C_4AF$ system was greatly retarded even with 0.25wt% of CLS but by adding gypsum its hydration process was recovered normally.
Ettringite$(3CaO{\cdot}Al_2O_3{\cdot}3CaSO_4{\cdot}32H_2O)$, one of the hydrated phase of Portland cement is usually formed in the early stage of hydration by the reaction of tricalciumaluminate$(C_3A)$ and gypsum. The rapid and strong crystal growth of separated rod-shaped ettringite have been utilized for the preparation of special cements of rapid setting, high strength and non-shrinking properties. The ettringite also has been noticed as a promising materials for the immobilization of various waste ions because of its unique crystal structure which has abundant channels and exchangeable ionic compounds. In this study, the formation and growth behavior of the ettringite was investigated in the system $C_3A-CaSO_4-H_2O$ using $C_3A$ clinker and gypsum to obtain a microporous body for waste ion immobilization. Ettringite was revealed to form by the dissolution-precipitation mechanism and the bulk body was by the entangled growth of rod-shaped ettringite crystals. The hardened body was composed of nearly pure rod-shaped ettringite interlocked each other with adequate mechanical strength. The homogeneity of structure, pore size, specific surface area and porosity of the hardened body were influenced by reaction temperature, water/powder ratio and the curing time. The hardened body prepared with water/powder ratio of 1 at $24^{\circ}C$ for one day showed excellent morphological properties for the purposed materials.
The intension of this study is to produce ordinary portland cement using ash, both bottom ash and fly ash, obtained from municipal solid waste incineration ash (MSWI). We used limestone, waste molding sand, shale, slag from converting furnaces and fly ash as main raw materials and mixed them, setting the lime saturation factor (LSF) within 91.0, the silica modulus (SM) within 2.40, and iron modulus (IM) within 1.80. We conducted tests adding bottom ash alone 1, 2 and 3% by weight, respectively, and a mixture of bottom ash 0.9% and fly ash 0.1 % by weight. The result of analysis on clinker shows that the more ash is added, the lower the burnability index (B.I.) falls, lowering the mineral evolution of calcium silicate accordingly. From the measurement of compressive strength we have learned that the more ash is used, the lower the strength becomes.
When the multi-stage combustion process is applied to the cement kiln to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions in the cement industry, oxidation/reduction section that can increase combustion efficiency by reducing NOx to NO and completely burning unburned materials is essential In this study, when applied the oxidation/reduction system of the cement kiln preheater and calciner, the optimal oxidation/reduction calcination crisis that can secure the quality stability of the final product, cement clinker, was to be observed macroscopically, and the mass change of raw materials according to the burning conditions, decarbonation rate, and calcination rate were investigated. The results showed that the thermal decomposition of raw materials tends to be promoted in the oxidation condition rather than in the reduction condition, and that the thermal decomposition of limestone, which has a relatively high CaO content, is carried out later than that of cement raw meal, which is thought to be caused by the CO2 fractionation in the kiln. The thermal decomposition properties of raw materials according to oxidation/reducing burning condition showed a relatively large difference in temperature range lower than normal limestone themal decomposition temperature, which is thought to be expected to improve the thermal efficiency of raw materials according to the formation of oxidation condition in the section 750℃ of burning temperature. However, for this study, lab scale. Because there is a difference from the field process as a scale study, it is deemed necessary to verify the actual test results of the pilot scale.
Recycling of bottom ash from municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerator has been strictly limited due to its composition of high level chlorine and other unfavorable substances. The composition of MSW has been, however, changed after the introduction of garbage-bag sales system, extended producer responsibility (EPR) policy and the prohibition of direct landfill of food waste. Recent waste shows reduced moisture and chlorine content, increased calorific value due to the separation of food waste, incombustible materials and PVC. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the trend of composition changes of MSW incinerator bottom ash and to compare the analytical results with those before the separation system was introduced. CaO content of bottom ash, one of the major component of cement clinker, increased from 26.7% in 2001 to 34.0% in 2006. The chlorine content showed a dramatic decrease from 1.84% in 2001 to 0.00655% in 2006, which is closely compatible with that of the fly ash of coal-utilizing thermal power plants, which is mainly due to the changes of MSW composition. It is eventually considered that there is a possibility of utilizing the incinerator bottom ash as a raw material of cement clinker feed substances.

Until now, the construction material industry has been recognized as a typical environmental destruction industry. However, recently, in order to reduce $CO_2$ emission, the main cause of environmental problems, lots of studies have been done about recycling industrial by-products and construction wastes. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to confirm whether it is possible to use as an alternative material in cement production process as a part of the development of recycled cement using an inorganic construction waste. For this study, the inorganic construction wastes was collected and analyzed each chemical component by XRF(X-ray Fluorescene). Also, the inorganic construction wastes were combined based on the chemical component of the cement, to perform this analysis. As a result, when the inorganic construction wastes was properly combined, it is possible to consider the development of the recycled cement used the inorganic construction wastes.
