  • Output power of a photovoltaic system changes continuously as it strongly depends on the weather condition(isolation and temperature). Therefore, it is necessary the theoretical model realizes the electrical output characteristics of solar cell. Of several theoretical models for real solar cell, both parametric model and interpolation model are used widely. In this paper, we have propose a improved model of solar cell using its output characteristics that can be extended to calculate the rear solar cell characteristics at various temperatures and insolation. And more, the theoretical research of several models of solar cell using simulation analysis.

  • Cytogenetic analyses were carried out with induced hybrid between common carp (Cyprinus carpio) female and crucian carp (Carassius auratus) male. The erythrocytic measurement revealed that cellular and nuclear size of induced hybrids were intermediate between those of paremtal species. The modal chromosome numbers of common carp, crucian carp and its hybid were same as 2n=100. The DNA content of induced hybrids determined based on flow cytometry was 3.7pg/cell which corresponding to intermediate value between the carp (3.6ph/cell) and crucian carp (3.8pg/cell)

  • Efficient plant regenerationsystem from cell suspension cultures was established in D. acicularis (2n = 90) by monitoring ploidy level and visual selection of the cultures. The highly regenerable cell lines selected maintained original ploidy level and consisted of compact cell clumps with yellowish color and relatively moderate growth, suggesting that it is possible to select visually the highly regenerable cell lines with the original ploidy level. All the regenerated plantlets from the highly regenerable cell cultures exhibited normal phenotypes and no variations in ploidy level were observed by flow cytometry (FCM) analysis.

  • This paper introduces a conceptual design of a combined scroll expander-compressor unit for a fuel cell. Since air discharged out of the fuel cell stack has still high pressure energy, some power can be extracted from the air by directing it to pass through an expanding device. Such extracted power can be used to drive an auxiliary compressor. For this purpose, a scroll type expander coupled to a scroll type compressor was designed for a 1kW-class fuel cell. The orbiting scroll members of the expander and the compressor were made to share three of common drive shafts installed in the mid frame plate. Performance analysis for the combined expander-compressor unit showed that the installation of this unit could reduce the auxiliary power consumption in the fuel cell by about 42%.

  • In this paper, solar cell array of KOMPSAT 1 was modeled and analyzed. The modeling results of solar array were achieved by neural algorithm, which is a powerful nonlinear system modeling tool. Using solar cell array modeling, the solar cell array was analyzed and verified by simulation considering solar cell data of KOMPSAT 1. The characteristics curves and power generation of the solar array are analyzed by using the modeling.

  • Melanoma cells have been shown to respond to BRAF inhibitors; however, intrinsic and acquired resistance limits their clinical application. In this study, we performed RNA-Seq analysis with BRAF inhibitor-sensitive (A375P) and -resistant (A375P/Mdr with acquired resistance and SK-MEL-2 with intrinsic resistance) melanoma cell lines, to reveal the genes and pathways potentially involved in intrinsic and acquired resistance to BRAF inhibitors. A total of 546 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), including 239 up-regulated and 307 down-regulated genes, were identified in both intrinsic and acquired resistant cells. Gene ontology (GO) analysis revealed that the top 10 biological processes associated with these genes included angiogenesis, immune response, cell adhesion, antigen processing and presentation, extracellular matrix organization, osteoblast differentiation, collagen catabolic process, viral entry into host cell, cell migration, and positive regulation of protein kinase B signaling. In addition, using the PAN-THER GO classification system, we showed that the highest enriched GOs targeted by the 546 DEGs were responses to cellular processes (ontology: biological process), binding (ontology: molecular function), and cell subcellular localization (ontology: cellular component). Ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA) network analysis showed a network that was common to two BRAF inhibitorresistant cells. Taken together, the present study may provide a useful platform to further reveal biological processes associated with BRAF inhibitor resistance, and present areas for therapeutic tool development to overcome BRAF inhibitor resistance.

  • Background: This analysis was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of cisplatin based chemotherapy for treating patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: Clinical studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of cisplatin based regimens on response and safety for patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma were identified using a predefined search strategy. Pooled response rates (RR) of treatment were calculated. Results: In cisplatin based regimens, 4 clinical studies which including 50 patients with advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma were considered eligible for inclusion. Regimens included cisplatin, doxorubicin, or vindesine. Pooled analysis suggested that, in all patients, the pooled RR was 60% (30/50) in cisplatin based regimens. Nausea and vomiting were the main side effects. No grade III or IV renal or liver toxicity were observed. No treatment related death occurred with the cisplatin based treatments. Conclusion: Evidence based analysis suggests that cisplatin based regimens are associated with a good response rate and acceptable toxicity for treating patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.

  • This paper presents the optimum termination method of a TEM Cell, which utilizes hybrid distributed termination resistor array networks. Current stream on the septum, and on the terminal end of a TEM Cell is analyzed by numerical analysis. By circuit analysis, the optimum resistor array network is designed based on the result of the analysis, which assures efficient power dissipation, and current stream traveling straight and uniform. Thermovision photos were taken for comparing the conventional termination network on which each resistor is arranged at regular intervals, with the suggested optimum termination network on which each resistor is arranged for current distribution. The comparison of the results of thermovision photos shows a good agreement with those obtained by numerical analysis.

  • Angiogenesis is regulated by a large number of molecules and complex signaling mechanisms. The G protein $G{\alpha}_{13}$ is a part of this signaling mechanism as an endothelial cell movement regulator. Gene expression analysis of $G{\alpha}_{13}$ knockout mouse embryos was carried out to identify the role of $G{\alpha}_{13}$ in angiogenesis signaling during embryonic development. Hypoxia-inducible response factors including those acting as regulators of angiogenesis were over expressed, while genes related to the cell cycle, DNA replication, protein modification and cell-cell dissociation were under expressed. Functional annotation and network analysis indicate that $G{\alpha}_{13}{^{-/-}}$ embryonic mice were exposed to hypoxic conditions. The present analysis of the time course highlighted the significantly high levels of disorder in the development of the cardiovascular system. The data suggested that hypoxia-inducible factors including those associated with angiogenesis and abnormalities related to endothelial cell division contributed to the developmental failure of $G{\alpha}_{13}$ knockout mouse embryos.
