A Study on the Structural Relationships between the Antecedents of Knowledge Management and Performance in Public Enterprise: Focus on the KORAIL (공기업의 지식관리 영향요인과 성과 간의 구조적 관계: 한국철도공사를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationships among knowledge management(KM) influence factors(leadership, learning culture, member' attitude, reward, knowledge quality, KMS quality), KM activities(knowledge creation, knowledge sharing), KM performance in public enterprise. The results of data analysis by structured equation model(SEM) indicate that learning culture, knowledge quality and KMS quality significantly influence the knowledge creation and sharing. Member' attitude has significant influences on the knowledge creation. And knowledge creation and sharing have a significant affect on KM performance. Based on the results, the potential implications of the strategy for effective knowledge management are discussed.

The Causal Relationship of Homemakers' Consumer Function and the Related Variables (주부의 소비자기능과 관련변수간의 인과관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of the consumer's knowledge the consumer's attitude the family characteristics and the variables on consumer socialization to the consumer's functions of homemakers. The samples were selected from 428 homemakers living in Kwangju, Frequncies Perentiles Means Standard Deviations Multiple regression Path analysis were used as statistical analysis The results were sumarized as follows: Resulting from multiple regression analysis the consumer's function had the positive linear relationships with variables such as family life cycles interaction with family consume knowledge and consumer attitude. The most influential variable was consumer attitude.

사출성형 제품의 총합설계 시스템 구축에 관한 연구

  • The design of injection molded polymeric parts has been done empirically, since it requires profound knowledge about the moldability and causal effects on the properties of the part, which are not available to designers through current CAD systems. An interactive computer-based design system is developed in order to realize the concept of rational design for the productivity and quality of mold making. The knowledge-based CAD system is constructed by adding the knowledge-base module for mold feature synthesis and appropriate CAE programs for mold design analysis in order to provide designers, at the initial design stage, with comprehensive process knowledge for feature synthesis performance analysis and feature-based geometric modeling. A knowledge-based CAD system is a new tool which enables the concurrent design with integrated and balanced design decisions at the initial design stage of injection molding.

  • The design of delivery system is one of the most important subject in injection molding. Delivery system is a channel to flow the polymer melt from the injection molding machine to the mold cavities and affect quality and productivity of the part. The synthesis of delivery system of injection molding has been done empirically, since it requires profound knowledge about the moldability and causal effects on the properties of the part, which are not available to designers through the current CAD systems. A knowledge-based CAD system is constructed by adding the knowledge module to an existing geometric modeler and contains knowledge to permit non-experts ad well as mold design experts to generate the acceptable geometries of gate and runner for injection molded parts.

A Study on Students Scientific Reasoning in Solving Pendulum Task

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of students' prior knowledge on scientific reasoning in solving a pendulum task with a computer simulation. Subjects were 60 Korean students: 27 fifth-grade students from an elementary school and 33 seventh grade students from a middle school located in a city with 300,000 people. This study adapted a pendulum task presented with a computer simulation on which subjects would use a pattern of multivariable causal inferences. The subjects were interviewed individually in a three-phase structured interview by the researcher and three assistants while he/she was investigating the pendulum task. This study showed that most students across grades focused heavily on demonstrating the primacy of their prior knowledge or their current hypothesis. In addition, students' theories that are part of one's prior knowledge have a significant impact on formulating, testing, and revising hypotheses. Therefore, this study supported the notion that students' prior knowledge had a strong effect on students' experimental intent and hypothesis evaluation.

Relationship between Team Cohesion and Knowledge Hiding : Moderating Effects of Ethical Leadership (팀 응집력이 지식은폐에 미치는 영향 : 윤리적 리더십의 조절효과)

  • Knowledge is a key resource for organizations to gain and maintain competitive advantage. Therefore, it is important for organizations to motivate employees to share knowledge with each other in order to achieve optimal performance of knowledge resources. Despite the efforts of organizations to share knowledge, knowledge hiding is still prevalent among employees. In this paper, we want to analyze the factors that may cause more general and pervasive knowledge-hiding behavior in organizations through empirical analysis. The results of this study show that, first, the relationship between team cohesion and knowledge hiding has been verified differently depending on the sub-behavior of knowledge hiding : playing dumb, evasive hiding, and rationalized hiding. Team cohesion has been shown to significantly reduce the playing dumb and evasive hiding. On the other hand, it was shown that team cohesion did not have a significant causal relationship with rationalized hiding. Second, the moderating effect of ethical leadership has been statistically significant in terms of team cohesion and relationships with playing dumb and evasive hiding. In other words, the higher the ethical leadership, the stronger the negative relationship between team cohesion and knowledge hiding. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications of this paper and future research directions are discussed.

Category-based Feature Inference in Causal Chain (인과적 사슬구조에서의 범주기반 속성추론)

  • Concepts and categories offer the basis for inference pertaining to unobserved features. Prior research on category-based induction that used blank properties has suggested that similarity between categories and features explains feature inference (Rips, 1975; Osherson et al., 1990). However, it was shown by later research that prior knowledge had a large influence on category-based inference and cases were reported where similarity effects completely disappeared. Thus, this study tested category-based feature inference when features are connected in a causal chain and proposed a feature inference model that predicts participants' inference ratings. Each participant learned a category with four features connected in a causal chain and then performed feature inference tasks for an unobserved feature in various exemplars of the category. The results revealed nonindependence, that is, the features not only linked directly to the target feature but also to those screened-off by other feature nodes and affected feature inference (a violation of the causal Markov condition). Feature inference model of causal model theory (Sloman, 2005) explained nonindependence by predicting the effects of directly linked features and indirectly related features. Indirect features equally affected participants' inference regardless of causal distance, and the model predicted smaller effects regarding causally distant features.

The Effects of Alphabet Knowledge on Korean Kindergarteners' Reading of Hangul Words (한글 자음과 모음에 대한 유아의 지식이 단어 읽기에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the causal relationship of kindergarteners' alphabet knowledge to their ability to read words, in connection with the features of the Korean alphabet 'Hangul'. A total of 289 children aged four to six from three kindergartens in Busan participated in the study. The main results are as follows. To begin with, the participants showed continuous development in the knowledge of consonant names, vowel sounds, the vowel stroke-adding principle, and the alphabet composition principle. Meanwhile, discontinuous development was found in the knowledge of consonant sounds and the consonant stroke-adding principle, which indicated that kindergartners could show differential speed in various sub-skills of literacy development. The kindergartners' naming of consonants developed before their recall of consonant sounds, and the knowledge of consonant sounds had an effect on the knowledge of vowel sounds. Children had difficulty in treating more complicated letters of the alphabet stroke-adding principle test, and eve syllables of the alphabet composition principle test. Most importantly, the children's alphabet knowledge was strongly related to their ability to read words written in Hangul, as kindergarteners with a greater knowledge of alphabet names, sounds, and principles were shown to read words better.

The Longitudinal Relationship between Parenting Knowledge, Parenting Stress, and Parenting Behavior of Mothers with Infants (영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육지식, 양육스트레스, 양육행동간의 종단적 관계)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the causal relationship between parenting knowledge, parenting stress, and parenting behavior of mothers with infants and to confirm the longitudinal mediating effect of parenting stress in the relationship between parenting knowledge and parenting behavior. Methods: This study used data collected through the Panel Study on Korean Children from 2008 to 2010 and the participants were 1,444 mothers with infants. The data were analyzed through technical statistics, correlations and multivariate potential growth models using SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 26.0. Results: Parenting knowledge and parenting stress of mothers gradually increased, and positive parenting behavior gradually decreased. Having a lot of parenting knowledge reduced mother's parenting stress. Mother's parenting stress reduced positive parenting behavior, and as parenting stress increased, positive parenting behavior decreased significantly. However, the relationship between parenting knowledge and parenting behavior was not significant. In addition, the mediating effect of parenting stress was confirmed in the relationship between parenting knowledge and parenting behavior of mothers. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study suggest the need to reduce parenting stress and promote positive parenting behavior along with the systematization of parent education programs in order for mothers with infants to acquire parenting knowledge.

Development of a Knowledge Representation Scheme and Diagnosis Mechanism for Heterogeneous Distributed Fault Diagnosis (이종분산 고장 진단을 위한 지식표현 방법 및 진단 방법의 개발)

  • An integrated fault diagnosis system for heterogeneous manufacturing environments is developed. This system has a contrast with existing diagnosis systems in the respect that they are mostly for diagnosing faults on individual machines. In addition to the usual (e.g., audio, electrical) diagnostic signals, the characteristics of products from the machines are considered as the unifying diagnostic parameters among heterogeneous machines in the diagnosis. The system is composed of a knowledge representation scheme and a diagnostic query processing mechanism. Its knowledge representation scheme allows the diagnostic knowledges from heterogeneous unit diagnostic systems to be uniformly expressed in terms of the causal relations among relevant data items. It is flexible in the sense that causes for one relation can be effects for another may be reflected on our knowledge representation scheme. The diagnosis mechanism is based on a probabilistic inferencing method. This probablistic diagnosis mechanism provides more general diagnosis than existing ones in that it accommodates multiple causes and takes complication among causes into account. These scheme and mechanism are applied to a typical example to demonstrate how our system works.
