  • There are operated the six thousand train in the interior of a country, $95\%$ of them are possible usage of resuscitation, Especially, Among them VVVF-Inverter vehicle has a merit of the highest recycle rate, but we don't use a apt recycled energy. Although the existing recycle energy used inverter method supply with electric power, it is decided in accordance with the state of sources. So efficiency of recycled electric power is of poor quality and catenary-voltage-fluctuation be generate because of recycled electric power. and it is able to affect system of safety train service. We'll research the method of supply according to wire condition after storing recycle energy made during train's stopping relation to Advanced EMU Research. Those methods are divided SMES, Fly-Wheel and Supercapacitor. and Considering the both economical efficiency and system application, we'll develop recycle energy storage system suitable our country condition.

A Study on the Measurement of Contact Force of Pantograph on High Speed Train

  • Appropriate contact force is required for the pantograph on the high speed train to collect current from the catenery system without separation. However, at high speed, large aerodynamic lifting force is generated by the contact plate and the body of pantograph, which may cause wear of the contact wire. In this study, to confirm the interface performance of the pantograph on Korea High Speed Train, a method to measure the contact force of the pantograph was proposed and the related measuring system was developed. The forces acting on the pantograph were clarified and a practical procedure to estimate the forces was proposed. A special device was invented and applied to measure the aerodynamic lifting force. Measured contact forces were displayed by the developed system and evaluated based on the criteria.

  • This paper presents the AC electric railway system modeling using PSCAD/EMTDC program. This system model is composed of the scott-transformer the auto-transformer. the running rails. the protection wires, the feeders. the catenary and contact wires, etc. After obtaining the models of the fundamental elements describing the AC electric railway system and its behavior, we have analyzed and tested real traction power feeding system focused on the amplification of harmonic current to verify the proposed model. The simulation results from the proposed approach and the measurement data from the test are described in the paper.

Test and Analysis of Voltage Drop according to Load Capacity in Traction Power Supply System (전기철도 일형식 부하 크기에 따른 전압강하 측정 및 분석)

  • Load capacity varies according to a day of the week in traction power supply system, because time schedule in railway is changed as demand for passengers and freights. Therefore, Voltage drop also varies as load capacity. In Korea railway, Voltage collected from catenary in train is decreased, as load supplied traction power supply system is increased. Therefore, investigation about voltage drop should be performed, before development of countermeasure against voltage drop. The investigation can be performed by simulation or field test. Naturally, field test is more precise than simulation. In addition, field test should be carried out at peak load. This paper presents test and analysis about voltage drop in railway. The test is performed in both a day of the week and weekend. The analysis is figured out comparison load capacity between two days and voltage drop across terminal.

  • In this paper, new electric railway feeding system which has active transformer is modeled for evaluating the steady state analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC. Equivalent models including power supply, feeder, train and transformers are proposed for simplifying the model of the feeding system in high speed electric railway. In case study, simulation results applied to proposed model are compared with the conventional and new systems through the catenary voltage, three-phase voltage of PCC (Point of Common Coupling) and the efficiency of regenerative braking energy.

  • In order to analyze the power consumption pattern of the DC urban rail system, the method to obtain a solution establishing the current equation according to fixed position of the substation and varying position of the train is used. The proposed analysis method using the network analysis is to model the transfer function of the component constituting a direct current power supply system (dc substation, train, catenary) to the voltage and current. By multiplying the model formula consecutive, it can calculate the voltage and current of each element of power supply circuit and shows a simple case analysis.

  • Currently in Korea, neutral sections in front of substations and sectioning posts are greatly divided into AC/DC sections and AC/AC sections. Considering catenary damage and safety issues trains pass crossover by coasting driving at notch-off. However in cases of Japan, China, or Taiwan, the usage of automatic crossover system makes it possible to pass at notch-on, enhancing high-speed railway operation for efficiency, and stability. These are the purposes of developing automatic power crossover system in neutral sections. This paper introduces two methods to detect the position of a train required to activate automatic crossover systems in neutral sections. The optimal method is expected in terms of the distance of neutral section.

  • In this paper, an effect on power conversion unit in high-speed railway vehicle by loss of contact between a catenary system and pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed railway vehicle are investigated. One of the most important needs accompanied by increasing the speed of high-speed railway vehicle is reduced that arc phenomenon by loss of contact brings out EMI. in case of high-speed railway vehicle using electrical power, as comparison with diesel rolling stock, PLD(Power Line Disturbance) such as harmonic, transient voltage and current, EMI, dummy signal injection etc usually occur. To analysis the effect on loss of contact, it is necessary electrical modeling system between the contact line and the pantograph according to the loss of contact. Therefore analytical model of a contact line and a pantograph is constructed to simulate the behaviour of loss of contact. The reliability of the modeling system is verified by simulation implementation on kinds of loss of contact.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a rational method for analyzing, designing, or evaluating the spread mooring systems used with floating drilling units. This paper presents a validated model to calculate the catenary static configuration. A semi-resolution approach is presented in this paper that is capable of predicting the static performance of a caisson mooring system. The solution is derived as a function of only three parameters, which can be solved numerically by implementing different kinds of boundary conditions. The efficiency and accuracy of the method permit quick parametric studies for the optimal selection of the system particle, which is undoubtedly useful for a preliminary design. A number of numerical examples demonstrate the validity of the adopted approach. The paper contains a complete description of the test cases and reports the results in such a way that it can provide a "benchmark" test for users and programmers of computer codes for flexible riser analysis.
