  • The study suggests an answer to the question of what determines category diversification of Internet portals in Korea. First, as external factors, competition intensity and market growth are hypothesized to have influence on the degree of category diversification. Second, an internal factor, user loyalty to portals, is hypothesized to influence negatively category diversification. The study performed empirical analysis based on weekly portal-specific panel data of eighteen internet portals in Korea during the period between 2001 and 2004. The result shows that category diversification increases as competition intensity increases, and that category diversification decreases as user loyalty increases. There was no effect of market-level growth rate on category diversification.

  • For university facility and space management to be public, and to increase the administrational efficiency, this research suggests an efficient as well as an objective evaluation system/index to allow national and university finances to contribute towards higher education. According to the result of this study, evaluation system for university facility can be widely divided into two categories; quality and space management. First, quality management is subdivided into three groups in order for quantitative management, school site and building area, secured building, and financial affairs and expense management. In order for an effective and appropriate space management, the second category of space management proposes seven subdivisions. Based on these subdivisions, quality management on university facility contains 10 evaluation items with marking system which allows perfect score of 50 points. The space management category contains 19 evaluation items and the marking system allows perfect score of 100 points. Therefore, this study developed total of 29 evaluation items for university facility management with marking system that allows perfect score of 150 points. The suggested evaluation system and items will be used as a valuable foundation for efficient and objective university facility management.

  • Collaborative filtering is one of the popular techniques for personalized recommendation in e-commerce. In collaborative filtering, user profiles are usually managed per product category in order to reduce data sparsity. Product diversification of Internet storefronts and multiple product category sales of e-commerce portals require cross-product category usage of user profiles in order to overcome the cold start problem of collaborative filtering. In this paper, we study the feasibility of cross-product category usage of user profiles, and suggest a method to improve recommendation performance of cross-product category user profiling. First, we investigate whether user profiles on a product category can be used to recommend products in other product categories. Furthermore, a way of utilizing user profiles selectively is suggested to increase recommendation performance of cross-product category user profiling. The feasibility of cross-product category user profiling and the usefulness of the proposed method are tested with real click stream data of an Internet storefront which sells multiple product categories including books, music CDs, and DVDs. The experiment results show that user profiles on a product category can be used to recommend products in other product categories. Also, the selective usage of user profiles based on correlations between subcategories of two product categories provides better performance than the whole usage of user profiles.

In order to achieve the purpose, I suggested that develop an integration model of LPEE and MBM criteria and use AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) as a technique posting weight value to criteria. Of two suggests, it is the former to date or discuss seriously. Therefore the integration model is redesigned for leadership/strategy category(leadership, strategy), management system category(customer management system, business management system, measurement/knowledge management system), and management result category(business result, customer satisfaction result, human resource management result, financial management result).

The categories evaluated were the food management standard, facilities/equipment standard, and essential checking items specified in the law. These items were graded and classified into A ($100{\sim}90$), B ($89{\sim}80$), C ($79{\sim}70$) and Score (less than 69) based on the criteria set by the present researchers. We randomly selected 56 restaurants in five local cities (Jung-gu, Seocho-gu, Jongno-gu, Songpa-gu and Yeongdeungpo-gu) and investigated each by actually visiting the site of business. The achievement rate for food management standard was 80.8%; as for the specific items in the category, it was the highest in food ingredients at 77.1% and the lowest in food storage at 62.1%. For the facilities/equipment standard, the achievement rate was 77.8%; as for the specific items in the category, it was the highest for vermin at 88.1% and the lowest for operation at 70.8%. The achievement rate for overall individual sanitary management was 70.7% and in the category, the lowest score was seen in hand washing at 57.1%. The overall average score of sanitation management practices using the Seoul Sanitation Grading System Evaluation Index in restaurants in Seoul was 73.7, which fell into the C category. As for the number of restaurants in each grade category, there were 10 (17.9%) in each category of A ($100{\sim}90$), B ($89{\sim}80$) and C ($79{\sim}70$) with 30 (53.6%) scoring higher than 70, whereas those scoring less than 69 included 26 (46.4%). The average scores for those restaurants designated by local governments (exemplary restaurants, general restaurants, best Korean restaurants in Seoul) were not significantly different; however, they were higher in franchises than those small restaurants ran by individuals.

  • Reward-based crowdfunding is a funding platform that allows funds to be raised to early operators who have lack of funds, and is seen as an outstanding infrastructure that is going to lead the fourth industrial revolution in that it is a field of realization of new technologies and creative ideas by start-ups. Reward-based crowdfunding has grown in line with the trend of the fourth industrial revolution, and funding success cases are taking place in various industries that culture/art to technology/IT, including as a new means of knowledge management in a rapidly changing industrial environment. The study focused on the fact that consumer's donation purposes may also vary depending on the category of projects classified as reward-based crowdfunding. Because consumer payment decisions and motivation of consumer purchasing behavior are classified according to the purpose of purchase, the previous papers that the goal gradient effect that the main motivation of consumer donation for reward-based crowdfunding introduced vary depending on project category of utilitarian and hedonic. In this study, consumer's daily donation data is collected by Indiegogo which is a leading reward-based crowdfunding company using web-crawling and the model was defined as propensity score matching (PSM) and random effect model. The results showed that the goal gradient effect occurred in utilitarian project category, but no goal gradient effect for the hedonic project category. Furthermore, this paper developed the study of motivation of consumer donation and contributes theoretical foundation by the results consumer donation may vary depending on the project category; also, this paper has implications for an effective marketing strategy depending on the project category leaves real meaning to the projector.

  • Pairs trading is an arbitrage trading strategy using statistical properties of the spreads between two assets. This study analyzes the performance of the statistical pairs trading with the pairs selected from the same category as well as from the different category in the CME and other futures markets. Empirical results show that the pairs trading performance of the same category is poor whereas that of the different category proves profitable. This implies that the spreads between different category pairs can have the mean reversion property if pairs are properly selected using co-integration test, which is contrary to the existing research results on the overseas futures pairs trading.

The survey was conducted in 2009 and it evaluated finally 5,867 cases by excluding cases with no answer or a wrong answer. This study model adopted two categories of instrument measure health were objective (Average remaining lifetime) and subjective(EQ-5D) health status. The health determinants included in this study could be divided in to four categories, which were human biology, environment, lifestyle, and health care organization. The results were as follows. In the factors affecting average remaining lifetime, human biology were sex, ages, BMI, showed statistically significant difference, environment category were merry status, education showed statistically significant difference, lifestyle category were exercise, drunks showed statistically significant difference and health care organization category were vaccination, health screening showed statistically significant difference. In the factors affecting EQ-5D, human biology category and health care organization category showed with same average remaining lifetime, environment category were merry status, education, income showed statistically significant difference and lifestyle category were exercise, drunks, stress showed statistically significant difference. The results demonstrated that the best powerful factor was life style category and environment category, the least factor was health care organization category. So lifestyle style and environment category should be considered for the future health plan, budget allocation and the priority in the health care.
