We investigate 53 late-type galaxies in Virgo to get better understanding galaxy evolution driven by environmental effects in the cluster. The goal is to study how galaxies are strongly affected gravitationally by their surroundings and/or how interstellar medium (ISM) of galaxies changes through the interaction with intracluster medium (ICM). To quantify these, a variety of diagnostic methods have been introduced. Our diagnostics have two different perspectives. First, we have carefully examined the morphological and kinematical properties of individual galaxies using high resolution HI images and compared with multi-wavelength data. Based on the visual inspection, we have identified signatures of the interactions with other galaxies or the ICM. Second, we have quantified influence of local environments of individual galaxies using X-ray data and optical catalog of the cluster. By combining all the diagnostics, we have identified the environmental effect(s) at work on individual galaxies. We also probe the environmental processes as a function of the cluster centric distance. Various gravitational interactions are found throughout the cluster, while the ICM-ISM interaction is mainly dominant near the cluster center. However, we find some evidence that galaxies start losing their gas already in the low density outskirts of the cluster.

Discovery is an emerging concept to enhance the search capabilities of library resources with the Next Generation Library Catalog. This paper defined the Discovery feature based on the information search behavior, and then derived the elements that make up its function. After that, the 11 regional representatives libraries' OPACs and 3 Internet bookstores are evaluated and compared against Search & Discovery capabilities. As a result, the Internet bookstores were superior to the libraries' OPACs for all the elements that make up the Discovery functions. This study verified that the public libraries OPACs are still concentrating on known item search, and it is hard for the users to meet a serendipity which is gained through the Discovery functions.

We introduce a new project of constructing a large spectro-photometric samples of metal-poor (i.e. [Fe/H] < -1.0) subdwarfs in the Galactic halo. The sample is collected from a compilation of the stellar objects that are cross-identified both in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and recently published data from GAIA mission. The color range of the selected stars covers 0.0 < (g-r) < 2.0; thus the spectral types of our sample span from early F- through late K-type stars on the metal-poor main sequence (i.e. the local subdwarf sequence). We scrutinized the physical, chemical, and kinematical properties of our samples using their SDSS medium-resolution (R ~ 2000) spectra, combined with accurately measured proper motions from GAIA satellite. Our study will provide useful information on the global trend in the various properties (e.g. abundance pattern as a function of the galactocentric distance; rotational velocity vs [Fe/H] ${\cdots}$ etc) of the metal-poor subdwarf populations in the Galactic halo, which is ultimately important to better understand metal-poor stellar evolutionary models and chemical evolution of the Milky Way halo in the early phase of its formation. Further our comprehensive catalog of the Galactic field halo subdwarfs collected in this study will serve a solid groundwork for future follow-up high resolution spectroscopic observations on many interesting individual targets.

The purpose of this study is to propose a W3C standard, DCAT, to manage and service dataset that is becoming increasingly important as new knowledge information resources. To do this, we first analyzed the class and properties of the four core classes of DCAT. In addition, I modeled and presented a system that can manage and service various data sets based on DCAT in digital library. The system is divided into source data, data set management, linked data connection, and user service. Especially, the DCAT mapping function is suggested in dataset management. This feature can ensure interoperability of various datasets.

The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of user-contributed reviews for the Next Generation Library Catalogs, and the potential impact of user reviews available from the external sources, including Amazon.com and GoodReads.com. During the period of February 16th through April 4th, 2012, the number of holding libraries and user-contributed reviews, tags and reading lists of ten selected books were examined from the WorldCat. Also the user-contributed reviews for the same books available from Amazon.com and GoodReads.com were examined, and a case of reviews for one book was analyzed. The result shows that only a few users participated in the WorldCat, and user-contributed reviews were rarely used, when compared with tags or reading lists. Several hundred to thousand user-contributed reviews for the same books were available from Amazon.com and GoodReads.com directly linked with bibliographic records. A case of one book from Amazon.com reveals the possibility of distorting the function of user-contribution. With the introduction of the function of user-contribution, it is expected that its growth rate should be carefully observed and its potential impact on users should be thoroughly and systematically analyzed in the near future.

This aim of study is to offer three way(the E-commerce operations site, electronic catalog site, the E- commerce function improvement, the off-line E-biz revitalization) for E-commerce revitalization of business incubator center's resident enterprise through interview with business incubator center's resident enterprise, business incubator center's manager and the operation company of the COBIAN as E-commerce site of business incubator center. Solutions presented by business incubator center are considered from various angles to improve law perception in the COBIAN and to exchange contact information among BI companies in the COBIAN. And The solution emphasize an efficiency as well as an absolute investment to present the solutions that are able to do better important function as business incubator center than any other. furthermore, a business incubator center presents solutions for solving problems with small and medium enterprises as well as the COBIAN, which is doing E-commerce operation.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the integrated search services for integrated libraries operated by local governments in Korea. The target of analysis was integrated libraries operated by 25 local governments in Seoul, and the analysis elements were selected from service functions in 12 areas related to integrated search. The results of the study are as follows. First, the integrated library is an association of public libraries and small libraries in autonomous districts and provides integrated search services. The provided integrated search service function, types of bibliographic information, and facets are not diverse. Second, the records in the search results were mostly item types, not title types. Third, enrichment information supplementing book information consists of book introductions, related information, book-related keywords, and loan-related information. Fourth, integrated search shows the form of integrated OPAC based on integrated catalog DB rather than discovery-type search. It concentrates on providing an integrated search for catalog DBs distributed in public libraries or small libraries in the autonomous district. Fifth, most integrated libraries provide similar service types. Based on these results, improvement plans were proposed for domestic public libraries to expect discovery-type integrated search services.

We can build regular relationships with customers by integrating SNS (Social Networking Service) and internet shopping mall functions. For example of direct dealing of agricultural products, consumers can find news of regular sellers (seeding, farming, harvesting and new products) in the timeline at their SNS home. Then, they can purchase the necessary products by one click motion. The sellers provide news and discount information for building regular customers. Besides these SNS personal connection building, our system provides shopping mall functions to consumer's SNS home pages with auto classified catalog of products. Then, consumes easily find necessary products and these purchase may lead to regular relationships with sellers. Consumers may redistribute recommendations and reviews and it enables direct communications between consumers who are unknown to each other.

We present our study of the correlation between star formation rate(SFR) and merging activities of nearby galaxies(d<150Mpc). Our study uses 265 UV-selected galaxies which are not classified as AGN. The UV selection is made using the GALEX Atlas of Galaxies (Gil de Paz+07) and the updated UV catalog of nearby galaxies (Bai+15). We use deep R band optical images reaching to $1{\sigma}$ surface brightness detection limit ${\sim}27mag/arcsec^2$ to classify merger features by visual inspection. We also estimated unobscured SFR($SFR_{NUV}$) and obscured SFR($SFR_{W4}$) using Near-UV continuum and 22 micron Mid-IR luminosity respectively as a indicator of star forming activity. The fraction of galaxies with merger features in each SFR bin is obtained to see if how the fraction of galaxies with merging features($F_m$) changes as a function of SFR. As a result, for 203 late type galaxies(LTGs), we found that merger fraction increases from ~8% up to 50% with $SFR_{W4}$, while for 229 LTGs $SFR_{NUV}$ shows relatively consistent fraction(~18%) of merger fraction. For early type galaxies(ETGs), we could also find no significant correlation between $F_m$ and SFR(both $SFR_{NUV}$ and $SFR_{W4}$). This result suggests that a main driver of star forming activity of UV bright galaxies, especially for obscured late types, is mergers.

The purposes of this study are to explore FRBR utilities such as work clustering and expression clustering and problems of application of the FRBR by developing work and expression clustering algorithm and implementing it into cataloging system, and to suggest new cataloging rules for FRBR and guideline of MARC description to improve FRBR work clustering. FRBR was suggested by necessitation of collocation function of bibliographic records according to increase of searching materials and multi-version materials, but FRBRization has some problems such as imperfect conversion of bibliographic records to FRBR records and inappropriateness of current cataloging rules for FRBR. Bibliographic records must be processed by FRBR algorithm to construct FRBRized system, but bibliographic records and current cataloging rules couldn't perfectly support FRBRization. Therefore cataloging rules and guidelines of MARC description for FRBR are needed. For constructing FRBRized cataloging system in Korea, it is needed to find problems and solution through FRBR practical application such as developing FRBR algorithm and applying it to cataloging records.
