The Effect of Career Group Counseling Program using Cinema on Self Identity and Career Decision-making Self-efficacy of Adolescent on Probation (영화를 활용한 진로 집단상담 프로그램이 보호관찰 청소년의 자아정체감과 진로결정 자기효능감에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the effect of career group counseling program using cinema for the improving self identity and career decision-making self-efficacy of adolescents on probation. Methods: The subject were 36 (Experimental. 20, Control. 16) adolescents on probation who were referred to N mental health center in G city South Korea, but 2 of the experimental group did not complete the program. The program consisted of 8 sessions and was conducted from November, 2008 to February, 2009. The study variables were 'self identity' and 'career decision-making self-efficacy' surveyed by self-reported questionnaires. Results: Self identity (t=-2.797, p=.005), and career decision-making self-efficacy (t=-3.354, p=.001) changed more significantly in the experimental group than in control group after career group counseling program using cinema. Conclusion: Based on these results, career group counseling program using cinema for adolescents on probation was especially effective in increasing self identity and career decision-making self-efficacy.

  • In this study, university students career decision efficacy through group counseling program to verify the effectiveness of group counseling program in the future career development of students and the university's career guidance aims to be the basis of the direction of the setting. Verification results first college career counseling program has not been applied to the experimental group compared to the control group, the level of efficacy was improved career decision. Change of career decision-efficacy between groups T-test results shall not be liable for the entire career decision efficacy significant difference was found that factors For a detailed planning, self-evaluation of the results showed no significant changes.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze foodservice and culinary arts majors' career preparation behavior by grade and career decision-making self-efficacy levels. Toward this end, 250 students majoring in foodservice and culinary arts were selected as a sample from three universities located in Chungcheong province. A total of 217 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed after excluding 33 copies. The results of this study are as follows. First, upper-grade students were more actively engaged in career exploration, information collection, experiencing behavior, and career preparation behavior than lower-grade students. Second, the level of career preparation behavior of the group with higher career decision-making self-efficacy was higher than the other with lower career decision-making self-efficacy. Third, the interactive effects of career decision-making self-efficacy and grade on career preparation behavior proved to be statistically insignificant Thus, career decision self-efficacy should be improved and the foundation of structured career education should be established according to grade.

  • The aim of this study is to analyse the effects of a career group counselling program on career attitude maturity and career decision self-efficacy in adolescents under probation. As a result, it was discovered that the career group counselling program had statistically significant differences in reality and preparedness among the sub-areas of career attitude maturity while there were no significant differences in determinacy. Also, the career group counselling program had statistically significant differences in goal selection, job information and future plans among the sub-area of career decision self-efficacy while there were no significant differences in problem solution. These results suggest that the career group counselling program had significant effects on career attitude maturity and career decision self-efficacy. For better career attitude maturity and career decision self-efficacy in adolescents under probation, more organized studies on career group counselling programs are needed and their usability should be reinforced.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the influences of psychological independence(functional independence and emotional independence) and career decision-making self-efficacy(self-estimation, career goal, occupational-knowledge, and problem solving) on career maturity(preparation, objective, decisiveness, and certainty) among adolescents. The subjects were 447 students in the second grade of middle school and high school in D. The questionnaire consist of measures of psychological independence, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career maturity. The data were analysed with factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression by using the SPSS(SPSS/WIN 19.0) program. The major results were as follows. First, adolescents' the career maturity was significantly different depending on the socio-demographic variables. Second, it was shown that middle and high school students have a statically relation, in a relation among psychological independence, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career maturity. Third, it was found that psychological independence and career decision-making self-efficacy gave statistically meaningful influence on the career maturity of adolescents. This study is significant in that it suggests a plan for improving career maturity, and provides a basic material to improve one's active role in their parents. In addition, the results of this study can be used as a fundamental reference in career development programs and career-counseling centers at schools for enhancing adolescents' career development and success.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the individual variables that influence the behavior of college students who successfully set career goals, plan for achieving goals, and specifically practice them. As a result of analyzing the relationship between career stress, career decision-making self-efficacy, career motivation, and career preparation behavior through a survey of 300 four-year college students nationwide, career stress negatively affected career self-efficacy, career decision-making self-efficacy had a positive effect on career motivation, and career motivation had a positive effect on career preparation behavior. In addition, career decision-making self-efficacy and career motivation sequentially mediated between career stress and career preparation behavior. It is significant that college students found personal variables necessary to successfully prepare for career and confirmed the relationship between the variables through the results of this study.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of education service quality (quality of professor service, quality of curriculum service) on career decision-making, self-efficacy, career decision level, and career preparation behavior. Appropriate measures were developed and tested on 426 respondents of Gyeongnam province in South Korea with a cross-sectional questionnaire survey. To ensure the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and validity analysis were conducted. To ensure the reliability and validity of the measurement model, the CFA(confirmatory factor anlaysis) were conducted. The SEM(structural equation modeling) analysis was undertaken to perform the path analysis among the variables and to assess the suitability of the model. MCFA(multi group CFA) and MSEM(multi group SEM) were performed to confirm the moderation effect. Results of the study are summarized as follows: Firstly, education service quality has positive effects on career decision-making self-efficacy. Second, career decision-making self-efficacy has positive effects on career decision level and career reparation behavior. Third, career decision level has positive effects on career reparation behavior. Finally, it was found there exists a moderating effect of freshman/registered student between education service quality, career decision-making self-efficacy, career decision level, career preparation behavior. As a result of this study, it is suggested that investigation of extraneous variables which help to improve career preparation behavior and career decision level as for career of university student will contribute to university education.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of self-efficacy and social support on career decision level for fisheries and merchant marine high school students. And it will help improving the Fisheries and Merchant Marine High School students' career decision level. To achieve the purpose of this research, the study carried out a survey targeting 456 fisheries and merchant marine high school students. Analysis methods includes Frequency Analysis, One way ANOVA, t-test, and Regression Analysis and data was analyzed by PASW Statistics 18. The results are as follows: First, fisheries and merchant marine high school students' self-efficacy and social support were generally positive. Second, The effects of the grade, the major and the school of students on self-efficacy showed statistically significant difference. Third, the higher self-efficacy and social support of students were, the higher career decision level was. Lastly, The effects of self-efficacy and social support on career decision level were valued positive.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among psychological, emotional variables related to the career indecision of college students and to present effective action strategies by searching basic data that can prevent college students from undeciding their career path. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between the variables related to career indecision of college students and the structural equation model to verify the fit of the research model. The results of this study suggest that adaptive perfectionism has a positive effect on career decision self-efficacy and career decision self-efficacy has a negative effect on career indecision and adaptive perfectionism has a negative effect on career indecision by mediating career decision self-efficacy. In addition, maladaptive perfectionism has a negative effect on career decision self-efficacy, and it has a positive effect on career indecision through mediation of career decision self-efficacy. we discussed the implications for career decision making and employment of college students based on the results of the relationship between variables such as perfectionism, career decision self-efficacy, and career indecision.

  • This study aims to examine what influence a career exploration group counselling program has on career decision-making self-efficacy and career maturity of female college students. As a result of the study, it was discovered that the career exploration group counselling program had statistically significant influence on goal choice, job information and future plan which are sub-variables of career decision-making self-efficacy while it had no significant influence on problem solving. Also the program had a statistically significant influence on decision, independency, and involvement which are sub-variables of career maturity while it had no significant influence on compromise. Such results show that the career exploration group counselling program had a significant influence on career decision-making self-efficacy and career maturity of the subjects. Therefore, it is suggested that the career exploration group counselling program should be properly developed and provided so that students can choose career which fit for their aptitude and ability. Further, courses for career exploration group counselling program should be provided at universities to help them with career.
