  • Multicultural education is what educates the comprehension about social structure, social criticism, and an ideology of participatory democracy. A discussion about equality education based on the ethic of equal caring so that individual life is in harmony with communal life has very important meaning to actualize the equality of multicultural community. Therefore, this study explored 'caring in education' as care community which takes care of self and the inner circle as well as provides care of others. I analyze Walzer's concept of Complex Equality that criticizes the social alchemy in which man possesses various social goods through the possession of one good, namely the dominant good. Next, I discuss Noddings's caring in education which examined, focusing on the possibility that caring in education can be the new curriculum that every student is able to pursue excellence.

  • The purpose of this study was to derive ethical life skills in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic from the 'care of self' that Foucault highlighted in . Care of self extends to the relationship one has with oneself and one with others. care of self is a practical ethic that realigns relationships with others and changes society through self-transformation. This study tried to derive specific practices for a life of care of self that individuals can realize against another rule of neoliberalism. Its specific practice style is keeping one's distance from dominant thoughts, forming oneself through practice and writing of subjective thinking, practicing knowing in everyday life, and practicing 'looking down'. These modes of self-care include the other and the world into consciousness in self-examination and transformation. Therefore, through care of self, individuals in the pandemic era can be reborn as members of society who change their lives while building a self-centered life that is faithful to themselves.

  • Pectin lyase-modified red ginseng extract (GS-E3D) is a newly developed ginsenoside Rd-enriched ginseng extract. This study was designed to investigate the skin safety of GS-E3D. Single oral toxicity, single dermal toxicity, bovine corneal opacity and permeability (BCOP) assay, skin irritation test with $SkinEthic^{TM}$ human epidermis model, skin sensitization local lymph node assay, and human patch test, were examined. The oral and dermal $LD_{50}$ value of GS-E3D was over 2,000 mg/kg in rats. GS-E3D was identified as a non-irritant to skin in BCOP assay, human epidermis models, and patch test from the 32 human subjects. The skin sensitization potential of GS-E3D was less than 25% in local lymph node assay. These results indicate that GS-E3D can be used as a safe ingredient without adverse effects in various skin care products.

  • The purpose of this study was analyzed the factors of influencing toward attitude to death with dignity to hospice volunteers. The data was collected for 21 days from 14 March to 3 April 2010. Among a total of 220 cases of the questionaries, only 195 cases were used. To data were analyzed by factor analysis, independent t-test, one-way anova and logistic regression using PASW statistics 18.0. The results were as follows; The attitudes towards death with dignity according to general characteristics was high in those with will to agreed to the passive euthanasia than those opposite to the attitude factors, namely, acceptive, the right to decide, negative, and dereliction of duty attitude factors. Significant variables for effects of death with dignity were gender, acceptive attitude factor and dereliction of duty attitude factors. Given that main provider of human organs is the brain-dead and we don't have enough organ donation, death with dignity should be linked with activating policy of organ donation, while solving donation shortage problem. This way, constructing social implementation and sharing consciousness on organ donation, would be diluting the bio-ethic controversies.
