  • In this paper, we designed a low power and small-sized, light weighted intelligent ambulatory monitoring system using a flash memory card. The system's hardware specifications are as follows: 2 channels, 8bit/250Hz sampling rate, 20M byte storage capacity, a single-chip microcontroller (68HC11E9). To easily interface with PC based system, FFS(Flash File System) was used. We obtained the QRS detection rate of 99.14 through the evaluation with MIT/BIH database.

  • For the strategic management of the small and/or mid sized clinics, the introduction of the clinic information system is necessary. Currently there are not many information systems for the clinics, yet. In this study, we have developed a clinic information system (CLINSYS) as a guiding prototype and suggested the development directions of the total integrated clinic decision support system. For the better user interface and easy communication. the object-oriented language Macintosh Hyper-Card and Excel are used as the developing tools. And as a part of the integrated decision system, an expert system to consult about the urine test and the blood test interpretation has been developed using the Macintosh spreadsheet Excel.

  • After a weight-rate disposal system for food waste has been implemented we have to install the food waste system at all apartment. In this paper, we supplied electric energy to the food waste system using solar heat panels. The weight of the food waste is displayed on the LCD panel, and its price is calculated based on its weight. Since there would be some cases that touch-typed card can't be well recognized if it is contaminated by foreign material, we designed a recognition device by no-touch sensitive card reader to embody the food waste system. The food waste system was designed using a GUI(graphical user interface) so that users can easily understand it.

  • Today, the use of mobile transportation cards is increasing. Most of the mobile transportation card charging methods use credit card charging methods. The existing credit card charging system has a different process for each card company, and when a system error occurs during the purchase process, there is no function to automatically handle the problem, and thus there is a problem that a person must manually correct the error. In this paper, to improve this part, we propose a system that provides information by purifying the purchases slip item by defining a common process and creating a table defined by metadata. It is expected that through the proposed system, when an error occurs in the charging process, it will reduce development effort and help in the process development research of the charging system.

  • Ethernet is one of the most successful LAN technologies. Now gigabit ethernet is available in real network and some network interface cards(NIC) supports TCP segment offloading (TSO), IP checksum offloading(ICO), Jumbo frame and interrupt moderation. If we use this features appropriately, we obtain high throughput with low CPU utilization. This paper represents the network performance by varying above features.

  • In order to provode information services on M-Commerce, a payment solution with security function should be required. User's mobile terminals for using M-Commerce services are diversifying to cellular phone, PDA, Smart phone etc. Among them, intergration of PDA's interface and mobile connection overcomes the weak point of existing cullular phone depending on information via the internet. In this paper, the protocol for a credit card transaction on PDA using ECC is presented. Secure Card module on this protocol encrypts user's information such as private information, delivery information and credit card information and store them on PDA in order to free from inputting information whenever it is used. This scheme also offers security services on M-Commerce including authentication, confidentiality, integration, non-repudiation and so on.

HVIA-GE: A Hardware Implementation of Virtual Interface Architecture Based On Gigabit Ethernet (HVIA-GE: 기가비트 이더넷에 기반한 Virtual Interface Architecture의 하드웨어 구현)

  • This paper presents the implementation and performance of the HVIA-GE card, which is a hardware implementation of the Virtual Interface Architecture (VIA) based on Gigabit Ethernet. The HVIA-GE card is a 32-bit/33MHz PCI adapter containing an FPGA for the VIA protocol engine and a Gigabit Ethernet chip set to construct a high performance physical network. HVIA-GE performs virtual-to-physical address translation, Doorbell, and send/receive completion operations in hardware without kernel intervention. In particular, the Address Translation Table (ATT) is stored on the local memory of the HVIA-GE card, and the VIA protocol engine efficiently controls the address translation process by directly accessing the ATT. As a result, the communication overhead during send/receive transactions is greatly reduced. Our experimental results show the maximum bandwidth of 93.7MB/s and the minimum latency of 11.9${\mu}\textrm{s}$. In terms of minimum latency HVIA-GE performs 4.8 times and 9.9 times faster than M-VIA and TCP/IP, respectively, over Gigabit Ethernet. In addition, the maximum bandwidth of HVIA-GE is 50.4% and 65% higher than M-VIA and TCP/IP respectively.

  • This paper proposes a method of automatic function test for parts mounted Printed Circuit Board. For this purpose, we designed a Data Acquisition Equipment, PC interface card and inspection software. The experiment was done for the coffee vending machine and its result was good.

  • Although the existing X-CASH card system observes the KS standard for a transportation card system, there has been an issue for interoperability between X-CASH and other public transportation system due to the partially undefined part in the standard. This issue is followed by the inconvenience of the existing X-CASH users. If the existing X-CASH card user wants to get any other public transportations which are not interoperated with X-CASH, the user would have to buy other cards. Consequently, some users have to bring more than one card with them. In addition, it is almost impossible that the existing X-CASH system operator makes the X-CASH card available for the infrastructure built by other cards operators because their technologies are too much different. The X-CASH operator must construct its own infrastructure on the same route and it would cause an unnecessary loss of expense and labor. To solve these problems, We modified the existing X-CASH system and developed the Nation-wide Interoerable X-CASH system which lets both the existing X-CASH card and Nation-wide Interoperable X-CASH card work. This developed X-CASH system consists of the purchase SAM, the purchase terminal and the settlement. And The conformity test for it was successfully authorized. Also we, KORAIL NETWORKS, have done the test-bed on this Nation-wide interoperable X-CASH system in Gwangju for six months with Telecommunications & Clearings, the HiPlusCard Corporation. This test confirmed that the Nation-wide Interoperable X-CASH system would practically work well.
