Purpose: Greenhouse gases are one of the major causes of global warming, a global disaster. This study aims to calculate road sector greenhouse gas emissions more precisely than conventional methods. Method: Currently, the average speed of a vehicle is used to calculate greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, GHG emissions are calculated using the speed of individual vehicles and compared with current methods. Result: It was confirmed that the existing emission estimation method underestimated about 15% in the case of carbon dioxide, about 1% in the case of nitrous oxide, and about 1% in the case of methane. Conclusion: Current methods of estimating greenhouse gas emissions were developed before 2000 and were developed to meet the limits of available data. However, with the advancement of technology, the quality of available data is now high, and new emissions estimation methods are needed. Therefore, in this study, we propose a method for estimating the velocity-based greenhouse gas emissions of individual vehicles as a more accurate method for calculating greenhouse gas emissions.

Objectives: Currently, there is only limited knowledge regarding the hazard of low-level exposure to CMR materials in workplaces. To overcome this limitation, a reference concentration for workers($RfC_w$) from among the risk assessment tools proposed by the US EPA is widely used to set a provisional workplace exposure level(PWEL) for CMR materials for which there are no established Korea Occupational Exposure Limits(KOELs) or subjective chemicals for work environment measurements as regulated by Korea Ministry of Employment and Labor(KMOEL). A simple European calculator of derived no effect level(SECO-DNEL) as proposed by REACH can also be used in place of $RfC_w$ to set the PWEL for chemicals. This study was performed to test the acceptability of using SECO-DNEL as an alternative to $RfC_w$ when setting a PWEL for low-level exposures. Methods: The $RfC_w$ and DNEL for the five CMR materials of dinitrogen oxide, catechol, 2-phenoxy ethanol, carbitol, and carbon black were calculated using the dose-response assessments of the US EPA for $RfC_w$ and REACH guidance for SECO-DNEL, respectively. They were compared using paired t-tests to determine the statistical differences between them. Results: For the five chemicals, the $RfC_w$ were 2.53 ppm, 0.10 ppm, 1.73 ppm, 1.66 ppm, and $0.05mg/m^3$, respectively, while the SECO-DNEL were 2.01 ppm, 0.11 ppm, 1.83 ppm, 1.77 ppm, $0.14mg/m^3$, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between $RfC_w$ and SECO-DNEL. Conclusions: This study suggests that the SECO-DNEL could be applied in place of $RfC_w$ to set a PWEL for low-level exposure to chemicals, especially CMR materials. To further ensure the reliability of SECO-DNEL as an alternative tool, more chemicals should be applied for calculation and comparison with $RfC_w$.
Sulfate adsorption in forest soils is a process of sulfur dynamics playing an important role in plant uptake, cation movement, acid neutralization capacity and so on. The relationship between sulfate adsorption and some physicochemical properties of four forest soils was investigated. Extractable sulfate contents and sulfate adsorption capacity (SAC) in the forest soils varied much among study sites. Extractable sulfate contents were more in sub-surface soils with lower organic matter and greater Al and Fe oxides than in surface soils. The average contents of $Al_d$ and $Fe_d$ in the sub-surface soils were 8.49 and $12.45g\;kg^{-1}$, respectively. Soil pH, cation exchange capacity and clay content were positively correlated with the extractable sulfate contents and SAC. Organic carbon content, however, was negatively correlated with the extractable sulfate contents, implying the competitive adsorption of sulfate with soil organic matter. Considerably significant correlation was found between inorganic + amorphous Al and Fe oxides and the sulfate adsorption, but crystalline Al and other fractions of Fe oxide showed no correlation. Relatively close relationship between the adsorbed sulfates and soil pH, cation exchange capacity, or amorphous Al oxides indicates that the accelerated soil acidification may substantially reduce the potential for sulfate adsorption contributing to sulfur flux in forest ecosystems.
Many greenhouse gases occur naturally, such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. Others such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride ($SF_6$) result exclusively from human industrial processes. Current global warming has been linked to anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentration increases. Methods to quantify greenhouse gas emissions during animal agriculture and the possibility to apply those to circumstance in the world were studied. Various chamber methods with trace gas analyzer (TGA) were used to quantify greenhouse gas emissions from stored manure. Methane fluxes from pails storing liquid swine manure were measured. Methane emissions increased a little with time and mean was 393.2 ${\mu}g\;m^{-2}\;s{-1}$ (standard error : 4 ${\mu}g\;m^{-2}\;s{-1}$).

Hot dip galvanizing in the steel plant is one of the most widely used methods for preventing the corrosion of steel materials including structures, steel sheets, and materials for industrial facilities. While hot dip galvanizing has the advantage of stability and economic feasibility, it has difficulty in repairing equipment and maintaining the facilities due to high-temperature oxidation caused by Zn Fume where molten zinc used in the open spaces. Currently, SM45C (carbon steel plate for mechanical structure, KS standard) is used for the equipment. If a part of the equipment is resistant to high temperature and Zn fume, it is expected to improve equipment life and performance. In this study, the manufactured Ni alloy was tested for its corrosion resistance against Zn fume when it was used in the hot dip galvanizing equipment in the steel plant. Two kinds of materials currently used in the equipment, new Ni alloy and Inconel(typical corrosion-resistant Ni alloy), were selected as the reference groups. Two kinds of molten metal were used to confirm the corrosion of each alloy according to the molten metal. Zn fume was generated by bubbling Ar gas from molten Zn in a furnace($500{\sim}700^{\circ}C$) and the samples were analyzed after 30 days. After 30 days, the specimens were taken out, the oxide layer on the surface was confirmed with an optical microscope and SEM, and the corrosion was confirmed using a potentiodynamic polarization test. Corrosion depends on the type of molten metal.
The Interior finishing materials tried to evaluate the combustion characteristics and the dangerous characteristic of Floor finish and Wall finish. We often use, conducting the experiment ISO 5660-1, Cone Calorimeter method, and ISO-TR-9122 FT-IR. According to the result of Cone calorimeter experiment, the tile carpet FF3 of Floor material had the highest THR $74.6mj/m^2$ because of the highest risk, and the PHRR of FF1 was $726kW/m^2$, which was easy to bum. As a result FT-IR test, The CO, $CO_2$ ratio was 8,146 PPM for roll carpet FF1 than tile carpet FF2, FF3 5,996, 5,171 PPM, which was a carpet with a high toxicity risk. In the case of wall finishes, The MDF plate(WF3) was THR $86.7mj/m^2$ with a high risk, PHRR $384kW/m^2$ was easy to ignite and toxicity index was 5.5. The CO, $CO_2$ ratio was 1,340~8,596 PPM, But the WF4 was the most toxic with 8,596 PPM.

Epoxy resin adhesives are currently used as adhesives in buildings. Epoxy resin adhesives, which are organic materials, generate harmful substances when producing adhesives, and toxic substances are high in the residential space after installation. In addition, a large amount of carbon monoxide generated from organic materials in the case of a building fire leads to personal injury. This study evaluates the feasibility of inorganic adhesives using pure inorganic materials such as magnesia, phosphate, and borax as inorganic adhesives to replace existing organic adhesives. As a result of the experiment on the selection of adequate phosphate and the characteristics of the addition rate of borax used as a retarder, the potassium phosphate monobasic was obtained as a suitable phosphate and the characteristics according to the borax addition rate were compared with the quality standard of KS F 4923 The hardening shrinkage and heat change rate satisfied the quality standards. The tensile strength was satisfactory when the borax addition rate was 4% or more, but the adhesive strength did not meet the quality standards. Further studies are needed to improve adhesion strength.
The energy harvesting device is known to be promising as an alternative to solve the resource shortage caused by the depletion of petroleum resources. In order to overcome the limitations (environmental pollution and low mechanical properties) of piezoelectric elements capable of converting mechanical motion into electrical energy, many studies have been conducted on a polymer matrix-based composite piezoelectric energy harvesting device. In this paper, the output performance and related applications of the reported piezoelectric composites are reviewed based on the applied materials and processes. As for the piezoelectric fillers, zinc oxide, which is advantageous in terms of eco-friendliness, biocompatibility, and flexibility, as well as ceramic fillers based on lead zirconate titanate and barium titanate, were reviewed. The polymer matrix was classified into piezoelectric polymers composed of polyvinylidene fluoride and copolymers, and flexible polymers based on epoxy and polydimethylsiloxane, to discuss piezoelectric synergy of composite materials and improvement of piezoelectric output by high external force application, respectively. In addition, the effect of improving the conductivity or the mechanical properties of composite material by the application of a metal or carbon-based secondary filler on the output performance of the piezoelectric harvesting device was explained in terms of the structure of the composite material. Composite material-based piezoelectric harvesting devices, which can be applied to small electronic devices, smart sensors, and medicine with improved performance, can provide potential insights as a power source for wireless electronic devices expected to be encountered in future daily life.
