Verification of Secondary Electron Generated by Head Screw in Gamma Knife Using Monte Carlo N-Particle Simulation

  • Purpose: The interaction of various substances inserted into the human body and radiation can confirm the radiation enhancement effect. A Leksell frame inserted into the human body for gamma knife treatment will cause not only pain and inconvenience to the patient, but also additional exposure to the patient's normal tissues. In this study, we attempt to confirm the additional exposure caused by the interaction of the Leksell frame and thermoplastic mask, and 60Co used for gamma knife treatment. Methods: A 60Co energy of 1.17, 1.33 MeV is applied using Monte Carlo simulation, and fixation screws and thermoplastic mask are fabricated using aluminum and titanium alloy, and Carbon compounds. Results: Results show a dose enhancement of up to 396.27% higher compared with that without a Leksell frame and up to 391.25% in thermoplastic mask. Conclusions: Hence, appropriate treatment methods and materials must be used to reduce additional exposure to normal tissues.

  • Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is applied as structural material. CFRP is excellent in plane strength / stiffness and don't haves rust. Lightweight, rigid and robust at the same time as transportation material. Aluminum alloy and reinforcement material The application is increasing rapidly. In this study, the prototype of a semi - Monocoque structure frame, Longeron, Stringer, Skin of the aircraft, restraining the rigidity Clips of the aircraft was designated as the target product and the experiment was conducted. ln the experiment, (1) For CFRTP 3 points, data on heating, transfer, and cooling were measured using Thermo Couple, and optimum temperature required for flexible state was obtained. Heating was performed at a temperature 15% higher than the provided temperature. (2) By using a pneumatic press during molding, by dividing LH, center and RH according to the cooling time, thickness parameter of the target product due to the load is measured, and thickness control and time-deviations were analyzed and cross sections were observed with a low magnification microscope.

  • To complite the high speed cutting system, It should be solved some problems, to make light the weight of mechanism for feedrate, develop the Linear motor that bas more power, high speed control system, and high speed cutting tools, nowadays, although many high speed cutting machine is to be built by some machine maker ,they have same problems, in this study, developed the system ball screw type before the feedrate mechanism for linear motor ,so we make the basic system for Line Cents . through that, it is limited to reduce the weight of frame and their frame is to be designed differently each other to reach the purpose special material or strucutre should be contrived.

Experimental study and modeling of masonry-infilled concrete frames with and without CFRP jacketing

  • Most existing concrete structures in Taiwan are considered nonductile due to insufficient transverse reinforcement and poor detailing of frame elements. Such features are fairly typical for buildings constructed prior to 1997, at which time the local building code was revised based on ACI 318-95. Among these structures, many contain perimeter or partition walls made of concrete or clay brick for architectural purposes. These walls, though treated as non-structural components in common design practice, could affect the structural behavior of the buildings during an earthquake. To study the behavior of such structures under seismic load, experiments were conducted on concrete frames of various configurations to show the force-deformation relationships, damage patterns, and other characteristics of the frames. For further interest, similar units with columns jacketed by carbon-fiber-reinforced-polymer (CFRP) were also tested to illustrate the effectiveness of this technique in the retrofit of concrete frames.

  • Five reinforced concrete frames were constructed and tested to study the structural performance of retrofitting effect reinforced concrete frame during and load revesals simultaneously. All specimens were modeling in one-third scale size. Experimental research was carried out to develop and evaluate the hysteretic behavior of reinforced concrete frame designed by high performance techniques, using carbon fiber plate, ALC panel, steel plate system with or without stiffener. Experimental programs wore carried to evaluate the structural performance of such test specimens, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility etc. Specimens(RFCP, RFAR, RFSR, RFSR-S), designed by the improvement of earthquake-resistant performance, were attained more load-carrying capacity, energy dissipation capacity, and stable hysteretic behavior.

  • 최근 경량 자전거에 대한 요구가 지속적으로 증가함에 따라 탄소섬유 복합재료가 자전거 프레임 및 부품 제작에 널리 활용되고 있다. 복합재료는 일반적인 등방성 재료와는 달리 적층판의 방향과 순서에 따라 그 구조적인 특성이 변화하기 때문에 복합재료 자전거의 디자인을 검증하기 위해서는 구조 해석을 수행하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 CFRP 소재를 적용하여 자전거 프레임을 설계하였고, 유한요소해석을 통하여 그 구조적 성능을 분석하였다. 다양한 적층 순서와 하중조건 하에서 섬유와 매트릭스의 파손지수를 측정함으로써 복합재의 적층 조건이 자전거의 구조 강도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 취약 부분은 추가적인 복합재 적층판을 이용하여 보강함으로써 자전거 프레임의 구조적 안전성을 확보할 수 있었다.

  • 기존 강재 브레이싱 내진보강법은 정착부의 안정성 문제와 브레이싱의 국부좌굴이 발생할 문제가 있으며, 이를 방지하기 위한 추가보강으로 인해 불필요한 자중증가 등으로 경제적인 내진보강성능 확보에 어려움이 있다. 이 연구에서는 지진피해를 받은 건물에 지진피해로 인한 기존 기둥의 연성확보를 위해서 유리섬유시트(glass fiber sheet)로 래핑을 함과 동시에 기존 철골 X-브레이싱 내진보강법에 비교해서 경량의 고강도 재료로 보강 후 추가적인 중량증가가 거의 없으며, 브레이싱 압축 좌굴거동에 자유로운 탄소섬유 앵커 X-브레이싱공법(carbon fiber X-brace)을 조합한 경제적이며 효과적인 새로운 내진보강법(GFS-CFXB)을 제안하였다. 이 연구에서 제안한 GFS-CFXB공법의 유용성을 검증할 목적으로 지진피해를 받은 골조를 대상으로 반복가력에 의한 구조실험을 실시하여 내진성능 및 내진보강 효과를 검증하였다.

  • Increased energy costs have placed demands for improved combustion efficiency, high equipment availability, low maintenance and safe operation. Simultaneously low NOx modification, installed due to stricter environmental legislations, require very careful combustion management. The flame diagnostics system has been developed specially to meet these requirements. We aimed at gaining the relationship between burner flame image and emissions such as NOx and unburned carbon in furnace by utilizing the image processing method. For the first step of development, its possibility test was undertaken with bench furnace. The test proceeded to the second step with pilot furnace, the system was observed to be effective for evaluating the combustion conditions.

  • When the RC frame structures subjected to the seismic load, brittle shear failure of vertical members induces brittle collapse of whole structures. Failure mechanism like this is not desirable. So shear strengthening method to avoid this failure mechanism is needed. Recently, strengthening method using continuous fiber sheet is studied and used widely which have high elastic and high strength characteristics. In this study, RC columns which is strengthened by carbon fiber sheet in the form of tape or whole sheet were tested under the cyclic load. The parameter of this test is the amount of strengthening. As the amount of strengthening increase, strength, ductility and energy capacity increase. The failure mode of test results are shear and bond-split failure.
