A CAD/EAM System and Component Technology in Die Making for Automobile (자동차용 금형제작의 CAD/DAM 시스템 및 요소기술)

  • This study investigates EAD/EAM system & component technology in die making for automobile, An assessment has been proceeded so that stamping car panel can be designed and manufactured efficiently. Also a method of measuring surface strains in a deformed three dimensional part has been analyzed which computes surface strains for the entire area under the view instead of determining surface strains from deformed circles one a time. For the technicians sutomated strain measurement system has the potential to become a powerful tool for successful press-die design and making. The obtained results will lead to the reductions in lead time and man-hour required for the design and manufacture of the stamping dies.

  • 자동차 man-machine system의 interface를 이루는 Display panel, Center fascia, Steering wheel, Rear view, Gear, Power window switch, Seat 등과 이들의 Layout은 운전자의 안전뿐만 아니라, 안락감과 밀접한 부분으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 이러한 설계요소들의 Man-machine interface의 최적화를 위한 인간공학적 접근이 필요하다. 운전자의 안락감은 Seat, Pedal, Steering wheel 등 뿐만 아니라 각종 조작장치(Audio, Switch, Gear,…)도 함께 연구되어야 하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 실험용 Seating buck을 제작하여 실내 조작장치 중 오디오를 대상으로 터치스크린과 Rapid Prototype을 이용해 사용성 평가에 대한 적합성을 검증하고자 하였다. Rapid Prototyping 기법은 디자인단계에서 제품 사용상의 문제점을 발견 개선할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 그러나, 본 연구 결과에서 3가지 항목 중 1가지만이 실제 Audio와 Prototype에서 차이가 없었다. 따라서, Prototype의 접촉감과 입체감의 개선, 실사용과 동일한 환경의 제시, 소리와 같은 정확한 반응의 제시, Glare의 제거, 사용자 분석에 따른 실험 데이터의 축적 등을 고려하여 Rapid Prototyping을 구현하여야 할 것이다.

  • A remote controlled mobile robot system has been developed and tested to monitor the radiation area in the nuclear power plant. The mobile robot system operates according to car-driving-like commands and is capable of radiation measurement and visual inspection in unmanned situations under radiation. The robot system is equipped with a radiation sensor and two cameras with appropriate illumination set-ups. The camera with auto-focus function and 8-times zoom lens is mounted on the pan/tilt rotational base and the other is mounted on the front panel of the robot system. All commands regarding the motion of the mobile robot and various sensors are given through the monitoring system which is designed to provide an integrated man-machine interface.

  • Due to the complicated character of the hemming process for automobile panels, it is very difficult to set up a consistent and reliable die design guide rule that does not require subtle decision of experienced experts during design stage and multiple trials during hemming die making. In this paper an automatic die design system of hemming units is pursued by presenting some algorithms, in which geometric data and constraints of the hemming units were converted to formula. two kinds of hemming units, 2-link type and 4-link type, were selected as examples and the geometries and kinematics of all parts were analyzed to build the design algorithm.

  • In this paper, an assessment has been proceeded about component technology that stamping car panel can be designed and manufactured efficiently. Also this study investigated srandard model of CAD/CAM system in production process of automobile dies. Recently, motor companies are doing their best to increase productivity and to reduce production time. So to develop user-friendly and effective standard model of CAD/CAM system is very important. The obtained results will lead to the reductions in lead time and man-hour required for the design and manufacture of the automobile dies.

  • In the study, it is considered sporty car as 1400cc entry cars using sound generator. These cars are required special sound quality, also sporty sound quality. The operational principle of this sound generator system is that on the operation of the engine intake valves caused pulsating is to shake the membrane of the sound generator on the inside of the driver front dash panel through the intake manifold, which will deliver the required sound quality and tone. For the component constructed sound generator, main design parameters are selected and optimized using the daguchi's method. The results are as follows; The C2 sound level must be minimized and C4 level must be maximized. And also overall level keeps linear characteristics.

  • Mixed-model production lines are often used in manufacturing systems. In production lines, different product types are simultaneously manufactured by processing small batches. This paper describes a new welding assembly technology involving the development of experimental models for a mixed-model production line in an automobile company. Due to the extensive number of models, the design of a welding assembly system is complicated. Performance evaluation is an important phase in the design of welding assembly lines in a mixed-model production environment. In this study, a new welding assembly technology for a mixed-model production method was used to weld the package tray and dash panel of a vehicle.

  • We propose a newly developed automobile sensor monitoring system incorporated with a tire pressure monitoring sensor(TPMS). The RF-transmitter based on a tire pressure sensor, sends a frame data about measured tire-pressure to RF receiver. And the various sensing signals based on sensors such as fuel-level sensor, engine oil level sensor and temperature sensors, are converted into 10-bit digital data. The microprocessor displays converting data such as tire pressure, trip distance, fuel quantity, coolant temperature and car-room temperature, on LCD panel. The proposed system can be successfully adapted to monitoring of the tire pressure and various automobile sensors.

  • Recently social demand to achieve low fuel consumption and clean emission requires the development of new generation vehicle beyond the conventional vehicle concept. In this point, new generation vehicle is newly designed as electric vehicle, hybrid electric vehicle, fuel cell electric vehicle or 3 liter car etc. In order to develop new generation vehicle, it is very important to develop new materials and process technologies now. In this paper these new technologies are presented focusing on weight reduction specially. Steel body can be achieved 20-25% weight reduction by adoption of high strength steel and new process technologies, i.e tailored blank and hydroforming. Aluminium body can be achieved 40-50% weigt down by use of all aluminium monocoque body or aluminium space frame with aluminium panel. Plasitic composite body can be achieved 30% weight reduction comparing with conventional steel body.

  • A cowl cross is a part of the car's instrument panel used to maintain the rigidity of the vehicle body side. The application of laser welding has the benefits of speed and thermal deformation compared to arc welding. An ultra-high strength steel sheet is used to reduce the weight of the vehicle body parts. Generally, formability of such a steel sheet is poor because its elongation is very low. For this reason, a method for cold forming of an ultra-high strength steel sheet is required. This paper describes how to improve the formability and weldability of the ultra-high strength steel sheet. Mechanical tests of this material were also performed to evaluate the welding properties of $CO_2$ (GMAW) and those of laser welding.
