  • A case study of an active transmitting patch antenna revealed a characteristic loop locus of DC power versus RF output power as drive frequency was varied, with an operational bandwidth substantially smaller than the impedance bandwidth of the radiator. An approximate simulation technique, based on separation of the output capacitance of the power transistor, yielded easily visualized plots of power dependence on internal load impedance, and a simple interpretation of the experimental results in terms of a near-resonance condition between the output capacitance and output packaging inductance.

  • A proposed multi-layer ceramic (MLC) chip type band-pass filter (BPF) is presented. The MLC chip BPF has the benefits of low cost and small size. The BPF consists of coulped stripline resonators and coupling capacitors. The BPF is designed to have an attenuation pole at below the passband for a receiver band of IMT-2000 handset. The computer-aided design technology is applied for analysis of the BPF frequency characteristics. The passband and attenuation pole depend the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. The frequency characterics of the passband and attenuation pole are analysed with the variance of the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. An equivalent circuit and structure of MLC chip BPF are proposed. The frequency characteristics of the BPF is well acceptable for IMT-2000 application.

  • Micro-EDM is generally used far machining micro holes, pockets, and 3-D structures. For micro-EDM, first of all, micro-electrode fabrication is needed and WEDC system is proposed for tool electrode fabrication method. When tool electrode is fabricated using WEDG system, its characteristics are under the control of many EDM parameters. Also relations between the parameters affect electrode fabrication. In this study, experiments are carried out to analyze effects of EDM parameters about electrode surface integrity on micro-electrode fabrication. Experimental method and analysis are used to experimental design method. Factors used in experiments are composed of capacitance, resistance, pause time, wire feed rate, spindle rotating speed. As a result of experiments, capacitance and resistance affect electrode surface.

  • This paper describes the performance analysis and design of 1-phase self-excited induction generators. The minimum parallel capacitance of self-excited capacitor connected auxiliary winding and the series capacitance of regulating voltage capacitor connected main winding is proposed the suitable value using circuit equations of main and auxiliary winding. For the steady state analysis, the equivalent circuit of 1-phase induction generators is used as circuit modeling using the double-revolving field theory. The validity of designed generator system will be confirmed by experimental and computed results.

  • The design of large area thin film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCDs) requires consideration of cross-talks between the data lines and pixel electrodes. These limits are imposed by the parasitic capacitive elements present in a pixel. The capacitive coupling of the data line signal onto the pixel causes a pixel voltage error. In this study semi-empirical capacitance model which is adopted from VLSI interconnection capacitance calculations was used to calculate mutual coupling capacitances. With calculated mutual coupling capacitances and given image pattern, the root mean square(RMS) voltage of pixel is calculated to see vertical cross-talk from the first to the last column. The information obtained from this study could be utilized to design the larger area and finer image quality panel.

  • This paper presents an analyzing method of the capacitance of the power transformer for initial voltage distribution and insulation design. When a high incoming surge voltage is accidently occurred in windings of transformer, it does not distribute equally in the windings. This phenomenon makes electric field concentration and the insulating material could be break. Initial voltage distribute mostly depends on capacitances between winding to winding or winding to core in the transformer. If the C network can be structuralized into the equivalent circuit model and be calculated each capacitance element value by circuit analysis and FEM(Finite Element Method) simulation program, the transformer designer could know the place where the structure is to be modified or the insulation to be reinforced. This method quickly provides the data of the voltage distribution in each winding to the designer.

  • In this paper, aiming at high-voltage applications, transformer windings schemes of multiple-output two-transistor flyback converters are investigated, which are mainly based on the stray capacitances effect. First, based on a transformer model including equivalent stray capacitors, the operational principle of the converter is presented, and the main influence of its stay capacitors is determined. Second, the windings structures of the transformer are analyzed and designed based on the stray capacitances effect. Third, the windings arrangements of the transformer are analyzed and designed through a coupling analysis of the secondary windings and a stray capacitance analysis between the primary and secondary windings. Finally, the analysis and design conclusions are verified by experimental results obtained from a 60W laboratory prototype of a multiple-output two-transistor flyback converter.

  • In this paper, we present a low cost circuit design for a sentence speech recognition. The basic circuit of the designed sentence speech recognizer is composed of resistor, capacitance, OP Amp, counter and logic gates. Through a sentence recognition experiment, we can find the effectiveness of the designed sentence recognition circuit
