  • Middle Route Project, the largest water conveyance system in China delivers the water of Changjiang River to North China. In order to create canal operation simulation system, mathematical models are established based on the analysis of hydraulics about steady flow, unsteady flow, and check gate. By simulating the canal operation behavior, we improved the check gate control algorithm and predicted the change process of water surface and flow profile which is very valuable to actual canal operation.

  • The important role of canal is moving goods and the canals from all over the world has contributed much to method of transporting goods. But, the canal system accounts rfor 25% of the total moving goods. One of its main goals is to reduce overland transportation costs were 30% more expensive than moving goods over water. We plan to build a Korea inland canal system and need to from a scheme of building a multi canal. We should consider positive aspect of this plan, on the other hand a study of the conal's environmental impact is required prior to beginning any construction. Finally, offer our opinion on the vision of Korea inland canal that aspect5 of national land development.

  • In this article we developed the environment-friendly arrangement system of drainage and irrigation canal. It is divided into the model which considers ecological conservation type, irrigation flood control type and hydrophilic type. In canal plan and design we will consider vertical section and intersection plan, water quality management, waterside environment construction plan, canal terminal treatment, canal bottom plan, etc. Consequently, We propose the detail contents which must be considered when we plan the environmental canal space.

근광장 측정에서 방사선 사진술의 정확도 (The Accuracy of the Radiographic Method in Root Canal Length Measurement)

  • For the successful endodontic treatment, root canal should be cleaned thoroughly by accurate mechanical and chemical canal preparation and sealed completely with canal filling material without damaging the periapical tissues. The accuracy of the root canal length measurement is a prerequisite for the success of the endodontic treatment, and the root canal length is often determined by the standard periapical radiographs and digital tactile sense. In this study, the accuracy and the clinical usefulness of Digora/sup (R)/, an intraoral digital imaging processor and the conventional standard radiographs were compared by measuring the length from the top of the file to the root apex. 30 single rooted premolars were invested in a uniformly sized blocks and No.25 K-file was inserted into and fixed in each canal. Each block was placed in equal distance and position to satisfy the principle of the bisecting angle and paralleling techniques and Digora/sup (R)/ system's image and standard periapical radiographs were taken. Each radiograph was examined by 3 different observers by measuring the length from top of the file to the root apex and each data was compared and analyzed. The results were as follows; 1. In the bisecting angle technique, the average difference between the Digora/sup (R)/ system and standard periapical radiograph was 0.002 mm and the standard deviation was 0.341 mm which showed no statistically significant difference between the two systems(p>0.05). Also, in the paralleling technique, the average difference between these two system was 0.007 mm and the standard deviation was 0.323 mm which showed no statistically significant difference between the two systems(p>0.05). 2. In Digora/sup (R)/ system, the average difference between the bisecting angle and paralleling technique was -0.336 mm and the standard deviation was 0.472 mm which showed a statistically significant difference between the two techniques(p<0.05). Also, in the standard periapical radiographs, the average difference between the bisecting angle and paralleling technique was 0.328 mm and the standard deviation was 0.517 mm which showed a statistically significant difference between these two techniques(p<0.05). 3. In Digora/sup (R)/ system and the standard periapical radiographs. there was a statistically significant difference between the measurement using the bisecting angle technique and the actual length(p<0.05), But there was no statistically significant difference between the measurement using the paralleling technique and the actuallength(p>0.05). In conclusion. the determination of the root canal length by using the Digora/sup (R)/ system can give us as good an image as the standard periapical radiograph and using the paralleling technique instead of the bisecting angle technique can give a measurement closer to the actual canal length. thereby contributing to a successful result. Also. considering the advantages of the digital imaging processor such as decreasing the amount of exposure to the patient. immediate use of the image. magnification of image size. control of the contrast and brightness and the ability of storing the image can give us good reason to replace the standard periapical radiographs.

하악 대구치 근심치근의 근관 형성방법에 따른 각 부위별 근관벽 후경 및 근관 면적의 변화에 관한 연구 (STUDY OF THE CHANGES IN CANAL WALL THICKNESS AND THE AREA OF THE CROSS SECTION OF THE ROOT IN THE MESIAL ROOT OF THE MANDIBULAR MOLAR CANAL PREPARATION)

  • Using a model system that can compare the before and after of canal preparation in the same tooth, we measured the area of the cross section, and canal wall thickness of the distal portion of the mesial root of the mandibular molar, and compared the amount of reduction in the canal using hand flared preparation the Gates-Glidden drill flared preparation according to the changes in the MAF. The results were as follows. 1. After canal preparation, the canal wall thickness had no significant difference between the hand flared preparation and Gates-Glidden drill flared preparation. 2. The canal wall thickness, after canal preparation, there was no significant difference between the sizes of the MAF. 3. The area variation range of each cross section of root had no significant difference between MAF size and methods of canal preparation. 4. After canal preparation, the frequency of the canal wall thickness under 0.5mm showed 3.5mm below the furcation to be the most frequent with statistical significance(p<0.05). 2mm below the furcation and 5mm below the furcation followed but there was no statistical significance. 5. The danger zone of the mesial root of the mandibular molar seems to be around 3.5mm.

공기진동(空氣振動) 근관형성법(根管形成法)의 근관정화효과(根管淨化效果) (CLEANSING EFFECT OF AIR-DRIVEN SONIC SYSTEM IN ROOT CANAL PREPARATION)

  • In order to study the cleansing effect of air-driven sonic system, the author prepared root canals on 48 extracted human permanent single rooted teeth using hand instrumentation and aforementioned method, half and half of the cases. In order for comparison of the degree of remnant debris and cleanliness, the cross sections at 3mm and 7mm levels from the apex were stereomicroscopically observed and scored in accordance with predetermined degree. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Air-driven sonic system was more effective in cleansing root canal than hand instrumentation at apical 3mm level. (p < 0.01) 2. Air-driven sonic system was more effective in cleansing root canal than hand instrumentation at apical 7mm level. (p < 0.01) 3. In hand instrumentation, Helisonic file was more effective in cleansing root canal than Rispisonic file. (p < 0.05) In air-driven sonic system, on the other hand, there were no significant difference between the two files.

Continuous rotary system과 single file system의 만곡 근관 형태 유지능에 대한 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Ability of Instruments to Maintain Original Canal Curvature of Continuous rotary System and Single File System)

  • 성공적인 근관치료를 위하여 원래 근관 형태를 따르는 근관 성형 과정이 중요하다. 그러나 대부분의 근관은 만곡되어 있고, 근관 성형 기구는 직선의 금속을 기본으로 만들어지기 때문에 근관 성형 후 만곡 근관이 원래 근관 형태를 벗어나는 오류가 나타날 수 있다. 이런 오류들로 인하여 근관 치료가 실패할 수 있으므로 근관 성형시 원래 만곡형태를 유지할 수 있는 다양한 기술과 방법들이 소개되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 만곡 근관 형태의 레진 모형을 이용하여 기구의 형태와 사용방법이 다른 세 가지 Ni-Ti 파일을 사용하여 Ni-Ti 파일 종류에 따른 만곡 근관에 대한 성형 후 형태 유지능을 비교하는 것이다. 직경과 경사도가 ISO 15, 0.02인 30개의 레진모형을 사용하였다. 그룹 1은 Profile을 이용하여 #20/.06까지 근관 성형하였고, 그룹 2는 Mtwo를 이용하여 #35/.04까지 근관 성형하였으며, 그룹 3은 PathFile을 이용하여 glide path를 만들어준 다음 WaveOne 파일 중 Primary을 사용하여 근관 성형하였다. 기구 사용 전과 후의 레진모형을 스캔하여 디지털 이미지로 만들었다. 각 이미지를 중첩시킨 다음 Matlab r2010b 소프트웨어를 이용하여 곡률반경의 비(CRr)를 계산하였다. 이를 바탕으로 Ni-Ti file 간 성형 후 형태 유지능을 비교하기 위하여 1-way ANOVA를 이용하여 세 그룹의 CRr의 차이에 대한 유의성 검정을 시행하였다.(P<.05) 또한 continuous rotary system과 single file system간의 형태 유지능을 비교하기 위하여 independent t-test를 이용하였다.(P<.05) 곡률반경의 비(CRr)를 이용하여 Ni-Ti 파일 종류에 따른 만곡 근관의 형태 유지능을 비교한 결과 Ni-Ti file 간에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다.(P<0.05) ProFile과 WaveOne은 Mtwo에 비해서 만곡 근관에서의 형태 유지능이 우수하게 나타났다.Ni-Ti 기구 사용 방법에 따른 만곡 근관 형태 유지능을 비교한 결과 continuous rotary system과 single file system 간에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다.(P>0.05) 본 연구결과에 따르면, ProFile과 WaveOne은 Mtwo에 비하여 만곡 근관에서의 형태 유지능이 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났으므로, ProFile과 WaveOne이 만곡근관에 대한 형태 유지능이 우수하다고 할 수 있다. 만곡근관에서의 형태 유지능에 있어서 continuous rotary system과 single file system은 만곡근관에서의 형태 유지능에 차이가 없다.

Age-dependent root canal instrumentation techniques: a comprehensive narrative review

  • The aim of this article was to review age-dependent clinical recommendations for appropriate root canal instrumentation techniques. A comprehensive narrative review of canal morphology, the structural characteristics of dentin, and endodontic outcomes at different ages was undertaken instead of a systematic review. An electronic literature search was carried out, including the Medline (Ovid), PubMed, and Web of Science databases. The searches used controlled vocabulary and free-text terms, as follows: 'age-related root canal treatment,' 'age-related instrumentation,' 'age-related chemo-mechanical preparation,' 'age-related endodontic clinical recommendations,' 'root canal instrumentation at different ages,' 'geriatric root canal treatment,' and 'pediatric root canal treatment.' Due to the lack of literature with practical age-based clinical recommendations for an appropriate root canal instrumentation technique, a narrative review was conducted to suggest a clinical algorithm for choosing the most appropriate instrumentation technique during root canal treatment. Based on the evidence found through the narrative review, an age-related clinical algorithm for choosing appropriate instrumentation during root canal treatment was proposed. Age affects the morphology of the root canal system and the structural characteristics of dentin. The clinician's awareness of root canal morphology and dentin characteristics can influence the choice of instruments for root canal treatment.

GPS Application for the Digital Map Construction of Irrigation Canal Networks

  • GPS(Global Positioning System) surveying is an effective method using satellite measurement system and can be applied to construction of digital map of irrigation canal networks. In this study, GPS surveying method for irrigation structures was developed. A selected main canal of an irrigation district were surveyed by GPS. The obtained surveying results were corrected by post-processed DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) and imported to GIS for the digital map construction.
