이미지 분석을 통한 초등학생들의 환경 관련 사회적 문제(SSI)와 해결방법에 대한 인식조사 (Examining Elementary School Students' Awareness about Socio-scientific Issues and Solutions about Environmental Topics by Using Their Drawings)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary school students' awareness about socio-scientific issues and solutions about environmental topics by using their drawings. For this study, 489 students were participated in 3 provincial regions, Incheon, Dangjin and Pohang in Korea. The students participated in a drawing activity to express their ideas of the socio-scientific issues and solutions related to 'environmental problems.' The analysis of the data include that the students displayed most awareness towards air pollution, water pollution and trash problems. However, the global environmental problems such as global warming and climate change were perceived very low. The interesting thing was about 8% of the students, who drew global environmental problems, tried to explain their drawings using scientific knowledge. But they revealed misconceptions as well. For instance, they were not good at connecting their science knowledge with environmental problems. About 80% of the students drew the pictures, showing solutions in personal context. They mainly drew 3 kinds of solutions: 'Reduce trash', 'Preserve ecosystem' and 'Saving of resources & energy'. Most students suggested to administrate the action plans. About 19% of the students drew 'campaign to save the forest' or 'develop alternative energy' in social context. And only 1 student drew UN conference to solve the environmental problems in national context.

선거공보물에서 후보자의 메시지 전략 분석 -2010년 6.2 지방 선거공보를 중심으로 (An Analysis on the Message Strategies of Candidates in Publishing Bulletins for Election -Focusing on Publishing Bulletins for Local Elections in 2010)

  • 본 연구는 2010년 6.2 지방선거공보물 분석을 통해 후보자의 메시지 표현전략흐름을 살펴보고 변화된 유권자의식과 시대적 환경에 맞는 선거공보물물의 개선방향을 제시하고자 했다. 따라서 선 선거공보물의 표현전략은 친근하고 흥미롭게, 누구나 쉽게 이해하고 간결하게 표현하고자 했다. 표현전략의 서술은 3인층으로 이성적 서술과 긍정적 소구방법이 많았다. 이는 공격적이고 부정적인 표현이 역효과를 가져온다는 점을 의식하고 있다. 표지 슬로건의 주 소구점은 인물, 지역발전, 복지 순으로 공약은 10개 이내가 많았다. 심볼은 후보자의 소속 정당심볼을 많이 사용했다. 내용은 후보자 이름과 경험, 경영과 정치력, 지역사람임을 많이 강조했다. 또한 주민 등장의 비율을 높여 서민적이고 친근함을 나타내고자 했다.

  • This study was to investigate the association among satisfaction of nutrition labeling, change of purchase behaviors, and dietary life care, based on the awareness of nutrition labeling at expressway rest areas. The subjects (n=903) were divided into two groups, according to the awareness of nutrition labeling: Awareness of Nutrition Labeling (ANL) group, n=367; Non Awareness of Nutrition Labeling (NANL) group, n=536. Effort of health care and identification of nutrition labeling was significantly higher in the ANL group, compared with the NANL group. As for the main reason for not identifying nutrition labeling, 'not interested in nutrition labeling' was the highest in the ANL group, and 'Don't know nutrition labeling is provided' in the NANL group. Identification ratio of nutrition labeling in future was significantly higher in the NANL group, compared with the ANL group among the subjects who didn't identify nutrition labeling before. After their becoming aware, a change of food purchase after reading the nutrition labeling was significantly higher in the ANL group, compared with the NANL group. Health beliefs on the nutrition labeling were significantly higher in the ANL group, compared with the NANL group. Satisfaction of nutrition labeling was also significantly higher in the ANL group, compared with the NANL group. The ANL group also expressed a necessity of expansion of nutrition labeling, compared with the NANL group. In the ANL group, identification of nutrition labeling was significantly higher in the hard effort group, compared with the little effort group of dietary life care. Therefore, improvement and campaign of nutrition labeling for consumers at expressway rest areas, especially for the NANL group, will be effective in identifying nutrition labeling for their health care.

침해 경험 및 정보보호 인식이 정보보호 행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 : 이중 프로세스 이론을 중심으로 (A Study on the Influence of Victimization Experience and Awareness on Cyber Security Behavior - Focusing on Dual Process Theory)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 정보침해 경험이 정보보호 활동에 직관적으로 미치는 영향과 정보보호 인식을 통해 분석적으로 미치는 영향을 이중 프로세스 이론(Dual Process Theory)을 통해 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 Baron & Kenny 매개 회귀분석을 사용하였으며 그 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정보침해 경험은 정보보호 활동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 정보보호 인식은 정보침해 경험과 정보보호 활동 간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 정보침해 경험이 정보보호 활동에 직접적으로 주는 영향과 인식을 매개하여 주는 간접적 영향의 효과는 모두 정(+)의 효과를 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 정보침해 경험이 정보보호 활동에 주는 직접적 영향은 인식을 매개하여 정보보호 활동에 주는 간접적 영향에 비해 상대적으로 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 해당 분석결과를 바탕으로 정보보안 활동이 제고 될 수 있도록 하는 주기적 정보보안 교육 및 캠페인 정책이 필요함을 제언하였다.

Understanding and Responsiveness Level about Cervical Cancer and its Avoidance among Young Women of Pakistan

  • Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality amongst the gynecological cancers worldwide, especially in developing countries. There are few to no initial symptoms and signs. This study was conducted to assess the awareness level of young Pakistani women about cervical cancer and to educate them about this deadly disease. A detailed questionnaire regarding demographic data and information about cervical cancer was distributed in different cities of Punjab. A total of 873 women took part in this survey and 70.1 percent were totally unaware of this cancer. Only 8.5% of the whole surveyed population knew accurately about cancer of cervix, 7% of the surveyed respondents correctly specified the human papilloma virus as the causative agent. Only 5.2% respondents were able to identify the Pap smear test as a diagnostic measure. Out of all the surveyed population only 4.3% of individuals were found to be vaccinated against this disease and the majority was found from the medical profession. Medical professionals, students, working women, housewives and uneducated individuals took active part in this survey. This study demonstrates a low level of awareness among Pakistani women and a need for an active campaign by media and government to increase understanding as well as introducing measures for improved prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.

18세 이하 자녀를 둔 아버지의 가족식사시간과 생활만족도 (Family Meal Time and Life Satisfaction of Fathers with a Child Younger than 18 Years Old)

  • This study examined the relationship between family meal time and emotional well-being for 5,186 fathers who were employed and had at least one child aged under 18 for the years 2009 and 2014 by analyzing their time diaries. In doing so, changes in time spent by fathers on family meals between 2009 and 2014 were also examined along with the factors associated with the amount of meal time for each year in order to understand ways to increase paternal participation in family meals. Analytic results showed that a father's family meal time had a positive association with his time use and life satisfaction; however, fathers who spent more than 40 minutes a day having meals with the family reported the highest score in time use and life satisfaction. The amount of time fathers spent on family meals increased from 38 minutes in 2009 to 43 minutes in 2014, whose change turned out to be mainly attributable to something more than the compositional change in the population between the two years, such as growing public awareness or cultural acceptance of the value of family meal. Fathers in dual-earner households tend to have longer family meal times; however, different factors were associated with their family meal times in 2009 and 2014. Policy implications are discussed in light of the government-initiated dining table education campaign to increase family meal time for the sake of children's character education at home.

전문대학생 정신건강의 영향 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effectiveness Factors for Mental Health : Focus on College Students)

  • Objective : The objective of this study is to analyze various factors of how mental health, self esteem, and stress affect health living conditions aimed at college students who have a low level of self-awareness. This study can provide college students the vitality lifestyle by developing and applying customized healthy living program. Furthermore, it can benefit preventing disease and improving health condition. Method : This study is aimed at college students in Daegu. The research subjects' distributions consist of male of 138 and female of 144, which totaled 282. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS 18.0, statistical program.4 Results : The result of the study indicated that the main factors that affect self esteem, stress, and mental health condition are allowance and part time jobs. It shows that health characteristic doesn't have relationship with self esteem. However, stress are mental health have a close relationship with drinking, health conditions, sleeping hours, and exercise. Conclusion : College Students should manage and lead healthy living style as a role model of family and society; as a result, healthy living style in the college becomes very important time period in the life time. Therefore, college students need to improve self esteem and reduce stress in order to benefit their mental health. College faculty members also need to put an effort on educational health programs regarding the practice of healthy life such as campaign for antismoking, moderating in drink, and exercising.

국방조달 계약에서의 분쟁해결 조항에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Disputes Settlement Clause in the Defense Procurement Contracts)

  • The term of defense procurement is used indifferently from defence acquisition. It consists of two sectors : domestic defense procurement and foreign defense procurement. For efficient and transparent defense procurement, Defence Acquisition Program Law in Korea suggests some principles including the purchase of domestically manufactured munitions in the first instance, and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration(DAPA)'s direct procurement of munitions, etc. By reviewing the characteristics, process, current situation and model contracts of defense procurement, it is found that domestic procurement contracts only propose the legal approach instead of arbitration and foreign procurement contracts suggest confusedly both the legal approach and arbitration for amicable disputes settlement. Therefore, it is quite recommended for arbitration organizations such as the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board(KCAB), the Korean Arbitrators Association(KAA), and the Korean Association of Arbitration Studies(KAAS) to foster a variety of strong awareness campaign, education and consulting programs, etc. for the popular use of arbitration clause. It will contribute to settle any disputes and controversies between the parties more speedy, economically and rationally, thereby reducing the costs, time and pains for solving them.

지속가능성을 위한 패션 액티비즘 - 소셜 미디어를 중심으로 - (Fashion activism for sustainability on social media)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate fashion activism that supports sustainability by pursuing social transformation through social media. This is achieved by publicizing the environmental and labor problems of the fashion industry. For this study, a literary survey and netnography were conducted from January 2017 to November 2020. We classified and analyzed environmental and labor issues that could be considered fashion activism on social media. The results are as follows. First, movements for conscious consumption appeared as #haulternative, #fashionourfuture, #SecondHandSeptember, and #wornwear projects. These movements are concerned with buying used goods, re-dressing clothes owned by individuals, and transforming and wearing them with new methods. Second, activism for environmental protection includes #fashionOnclimate by Global Fashion Agenda and Sustainable Fashion Matterz' #Watermatterz. These movements are directly involved in learning about the seriousness of environmental destruction caused by the fashion industry and participating in environmental protection with critical awareness. Third, the #whomademyclothes and the Clean Clothes Campaign are activism for improving the working environment, and are playing a role in publicizing labor issues by informing the general public about inadequate working conditions linked to the fashion industry. Thus, fashion activism on social media examined in this study can contribute to visualizing chronic problems that hinder sustainable development within the fashion industry.
