worker-centered safety management for hazardous areas in the plant is required. The causes of gas accidents in the past five years are closely related to the behavior of the operator, such as careless handling of the user, careless handling of the suppliers, and intentional, as well as equipment failure and accident of thought. In order to prevent such accidents, real-time monitoring of hazardous areas in the plant is required. However, when installing a camera in a work space for real-time monitoring, problems such as human rights abuse occur. In order to prevent this, an infrared camera with low resolution with low exposure of the operator is used. In real-time monitoring, image analysis is performed using CNN algorithm, not human, to prevent human rights violation.

Recently, computer vision (CV)-based safety monitoring (i.e., object detection) system has been widely researched in the construction industry. Sufficient and high-quality data collection is required to detect objects accurately. Such data collection is significant for detecting small objects or images from different camera angles. Although several previous studies proposed novel data augmentation and synthetic data generation approaches, it is still not thoroughly addressed (i.e., limited accuracy) in the dynamic construction work environment. In this study, we proposed a game engine-driven synthetic data generation model to enhance the accuracy of the CV-based object detection model, mainly targeting small objects. In the virtual 3D environment, we generated synthetic data to complement training images by altering the virtual camera angles. The main contribution of this paper is to confirm whether synthetic data generated in the game engine can improve the accuracy of the CV-based object detection model.
In this paper, we describe the development of the polarized-light stereoscopic monitoring system based on full HDTV. The system consists of the stereoscopic camera part, image processing device for the stereoscopic image recording and stereoscopic display. The developed stereoscopic imaging display system reduces eyestrain and viewer fatigue.

The more High-Tech City developed, the more Utility-Pipe Conduit becomes necessary. However, the existing management methods is difficult to cope with the accident. Therefore this study suggests on the effective way using the CCTV Camera.
Smart care surveillance system provides the services to track users automatically by using the nearest CCTV cameras which are capable of monitoring them after the system searches for CCTV cameras around them by using the GPS location information received from them. Because users send their GPS location information with using their smart device when they are in emergency situation or want to be cared for, they may expect quick response of helper in this system. However, in the previous system, the selection time of camera which is capable of monitoring is increased rapidly as the management area is expended because the area management server selects the camera by sorting the distance between all of CCTV cameras and users, and then monitors them whenever they send the location information. In this paper, we propose the method to reduce the selection time of the CCTV cameras for tracking the users by searching only the cameras near to the CCTV cameras used to track them.

Camera monitoring of topographical changes of intertidal flat was performed at Daehang-ri mud flat outside Semangeum sea dike No. 1, where creation of mud flat was reported after sea dike construction. Ground survey on the mud flat is often limited only to points or few line surveys because of difficulty of walking and limitation of working hours by flood/ebb. This study uses natures of tide that the water lines moving on the intertidal flat during a flood indicate depth contours between low and high tide. Ground coordinates for the water lines extracted from the consecutive images of intertidal flat are calculated and information of topography is acquired by integrating all the water line data. Analysis of 6 camera monitoring data between September 2005 and September 2009 shows 0.127 m deposition per year on the average and variation of deposition/erosion in space and time.

Leakages at plant structures of power and petrochemistry plants have led to casualties and economic losses. These leakages are caused by fatigue failure of pipelines and their wall thickness. Vibration measurement methods for plant pipelines mainly use acceleration and laser sensors. These sensors are difficult to install and operate and thus lead to an increase in operational cost especially for wide area surveillance. Recently, measurements of leak and vibration displacements using cameras have attracted the interest of many researchers. This method has advantages such as simple installation, long distance monitoring, and wide area surveillance. Therefore, in this paper, we have developed a system that can measure the leakage and vibrational displacement by using a camera. Furthermore, the developed system was verified with experimental data.

Welding process monitoring is advantageous for maintaining weld quality and numerous sensing techniques have been developed for laser welding. Coaxial image monitoring enables direct monitoring of the weld pool shape and keyhole behavior, but requires the complex optical system and the image processing technique. In this study, we coaxially acquired the weld pool images during laser lap welding by using the camera and special illumination. The welding characteristics - pool width and length, keyhole shape, etc - were extracted by using image processing and the relationship between these characteristics and the penetration depth were investigated.

In the conventional remote monitoring system, a user in front of a computer monitor can acquire only 2 dimensional visual information in a passive way. Thus, even thoght the user finds an interesting object from the video image, helshe can hardly acquire additional information on the object such as name. 311 shape, etc. In this paper, an active monitoring system that shows additional information on the selected object is proposed. The active remote monitoring system can calculate the 3D position of the object that is selected in the video images. Then, using the 3D position of the object, other information on the object can be retrieved from the database and shown on the screen. To calculate the 3D position of the object, 2 CCD cameras that can be tilted and panned using 3 stepping motors are used. The algorithm of 3D position calculation and the result of experiments are explained.

The conventional remote fire image monitoring system has insufficient ability to check the video information of the fire scene in real time, so it was difficult to grasp the actual situation in case of fire and cope with it rapidly. In this paper, we propose a design of realtime fire image monitoring system using new RTSP module, which is composed of a server with RTSP function and client for transmitting and receiving images using wifi from a camera attached to such a robot system. We implemented the proposed remote fire monitoring system capable of receiving live video transmitted from a camera and confirmed, by field test, that the fire video image was normally received.
