  • We consider an M$_1$, M$_2$/G/1/ K retrial queueing system with a finite priority queue for type I calls and infinite retrial group for type II calls where blocked type I calls may join the retrial group. These models, for example, can be applied to cellular mobile communication system where handoff calls have higher priority than originating calls. In this paper we apply the supplementary variable method where supplementary variable is the elapsed service time of the call in service. We find the joint generating function of the numbers of calls in the priority queue and the retrial group in closed form and give some performance measures of the system.

  • This paper call attention to the characteristics of apartment unit plans as to the outdoor adjacency methods. My arguments will attempt to investigate spatial composition and each room sizes of the unit plans. So far, very little has been done in this direction. I will limits myself to study 573 plans which have been designed from 1996 till 2003. What emerges from this analysis is that these samples divided 3 types derived from the outdoor adjacency methods. Type 1 limits itself to 39 square meters unit plans. Type 2 was distributed from 49 square meters to 200 square meters with the exception of 100-110 square meters. And, type 3 ranges from 59 to 160 square meters. Therefore, it could be profitable each room's environmental condition (daylight, ventilation and etc) and diverse apartment building types to design in extent 49-160 square meters.

  • As the necessity of increasing the midnight base load is extensively increased, electric power companies have to increase the demand of midnight electrical power by lowering the electrical charge rate at midnight. One of the most widely used midnight equipments is the heat Storage type's electrical boiler. A Single chip microprocessor controller for the heat-storage type's electrical boiler is developed. This controller call reduce the undesirable peak load at the begining of midnight (i.e.11 P.M.) time band by using backward load control method. Futhermore, this controller enables reservation of heat storge and the effective heating control the field test has been done by use the boiler for 66$m^2$ with the heater of 21KW quality.

  • High temperature superconducting (HTS) windings for an HTS transformer which have been developed have two kinds of type, one is the layer winding and the other is disk winding. The layer winding has adopted for an HTS power transformer so far because of the small AC losses of the HTS windings. The disk windings have surface of the HTS wire. We propose a new winding method for a high voltage HTS transformer which has advantages of both type of HTS windings, and we call it continuous disk winding. This new HTS winding consists of pile of HTS disk windings. The continuous disk winding was fabricated with multi-stacked HTS wires for dover HTS transformer. We can check the potential possibility from the characteristic test of the fabricated winding. The new type HTS windings can be applied to HTS power transformers, especially to the high voltage ones.

  • This research describes about designing and manufacturing X-wing type flapping micro aerial vehicle which intends to improve the performance of one-pair wing flapping vehicle with innovated design. This design, X-wing as we call, was introduced for some time ago from many laboratories but still there hasn’t any reports dealing on its theoretical or numerical analysis. By manufacturing the X-wing with our own design and succeeding its flight test will give us the general idea on X-wing which may guide us to conduct the numerical and experimental analysis later on. We focused to design the X-wing and introduce some conceptual theories about its characteristics on this report.

A Study on Kwansanggam Type (관상감활자고)

  • The Yi-Dynasty published the calendars printed by means of woodblock and typeprinting for the purpose of informing its people of four seasonal changes and appropriate time for farming. The printing types were used to publish the calendars in those days varied depending upon the kinds of the calendars, but all those types are known as only one name: Kwansanggam Type. This is because there have been little studies on the different kinds of printing types. As a result, there are many cases where the libraries make erroneous notes in their catalogues. This study points up the fact that four different kinds of Kwansanggam Type were used depending upon the nature of the calendars. For classification purpose, I call these types Daetongryokja, Naeyongsamsoja, Myongsiryokja, and Chiljongryokja. What has not been revealed in this study can be further explained as the more calendars of those days are found out.

  • As the power industry moves towards open competition, there has been a call for methodology to evaluate power system reliability by using customer interruption costs. This paper presents an evaluation of interruption costs by industrial customer type in Korea using customer survey methodology. When various research results are examined, the customer damage survey methodology becomes much more generalized. Especially, in the case of industrial customers, it is known that the evaluation by customer damage survey is more useful. Accordingly, this paper selected the customer damage survey method to evaluate interruption costs by industrial customer type in Korea considering interruption and customer characteristics.

Parameter estimation of an extended inverse power Lomax distribution with Type I right censored data

  • In this paper, we introduce an extended form of the inverse power Lomax model via Marshall-Olkin approach. We call it the Marshall-Olkin inverse power Lomax (MOIPL) distribution. The four- parameter MOIPL distribution is very flexible which contains some former and new models. Vital properties of the MOIPL distribution are affirmed. Maximum likelihood estimators and approximate confidence intervals are considered under Type I censored samples. Maximum likelihood estimates are evaluated according to simulation study. Bayesian estimators as well as Bayesian credible intervals under symmetric loss function are obtained via Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approach. Finally, the flexibility of the new model is analyzed by means of two real data sets. It is found that the MOIPL model provides closer fits than some other models based on the selected criteria.

  • This paper has been studied a interworking signalling protocol between two hybrid networks by analyzing Satellite B-ISDN architecture, DSS2 Layer 3 Signalling protocol B-ISUP protocol, S-BISUP protocol stack and so on. Also in the paper, messages and primitives have been defined for B-ISDN's Connection Type, Ownership and each protocol in order to connect point-to-multipoint. And then this paper has designed basic call procedures for OBP Satellite B-ISDN NNI inter-working protocol, verified and implemented them.
