Call Admission Control using Soft QoS-based Borrowing Scheme in DVB-RCS Networks (DVB-RCS 망에서 Soft-QoS 기반의 Borrowing 기법을 사용한 호 수락 제어)

  • We propose a soft QoS-based borrowing scheme for call admission control(CAC) in DVB-RCS(Digital Video Broadcast-Return Channel via Satellite). Some of the ongoing calls temporarily and fairly release bandwidths that can be used to accommodate a new call in an overloaded satellite network. The amount of bandwidth borrowed from each call is proportional to each user's critical bandwidth ratio, one of parameters for soft QoS mechanism. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the system performance in terms of call blocking probability and bandwidth utilization.

  • This paper proposes the measurement scheme for network overload and the control technique in case of breaking several control channels when we support the call services of DAMA through communication satellite(GEO, Geostationary Earth Orbit). And its performance is analyzed. The proposed schemes measure the overload of access control channel of a network controller to control the call connections, detect the level of network overload, notify the terminals of DAMA network of the state, and excute overload control. As a result, it improves the system performance and the network stability at overload state. Moreover hysteresis is applied to the change of overload state for the restriction of the frequent state shifts. The results show that the proposed algorithm prevents excessive increment of call-setup delay and too much lowering of call success rate, and improves the network stability.

  • In this paper, we propose mechanism of system call control, monitor, and manage by user level, and for this purpose we propose the mechanism using system call intercept and a logging system. Proposed mechanism is more convenient in that there is no necessity for modification of linux source code, so general users can actively apply and modify. As an application model for the mechanism, we can explain for the Daemon Process Protection System which can have a complete control on system daemon processes.

  • In this paper, we proposed the multimedia call admission control algorithm with the bandwidth reservation based on the prediction of wireless terminal's location to guarantee quality of service for multimedia applications in cellular networks. This algorithm aims at minimizing possible errors In predicting the moving direction of terminals using a mobility prediction scheme. This prediction reduces the size of bandwidth reserved redundantly. In order to evaluate the performance of the algorithm, the blocking rate of new calls and the forced termination rate of hand-off calls are measured and compared the results with those of existing schemes. The results of the experiment revealed that the algorithm presented in this paper achieved better performance with lower call blocking rates and forced-termination rates than those of other methods.

  • In this paper, automatic recognition of an accident and whether service delivery and risk driving through the giving of the driver to correct driving habits before and after the accident to reproduce highly scalable video Smart Mobile Blackbox DVR (SMBD, Smart Mobile Blackbox DVR) Computer of the model was designed. SMBD on embedded systems equipped with wireless capabilities to sleep in the car accident point and the image information by wireless communications, by notification in the control center, 24-hour emergency rescue service and traffic information can be provided. The vehicle ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of the vehicle information and sensor data in conjunction with wireless eCall (Emergency Call) services can be realized.

  • This study addresses the call admission control(CAC) problem for OFDMA wireless communication systems in which both subcarriers and power should be considered together as the system resources. To lessen the exccessive allocation of radio resources for protecting handoff calls, the proposed CAC allows the less data rate than their requirements to handoff calls. The CAC problem is formulated as a semi-Markov decision process(SMDP) with constraints on the blocking probabilities of handoff calls. Some extensive experiments are conducted to show the usefulness of the proposed CAC model.

  • Conventional major electronic switching systems based on stored program control employ a Von Neumann styled control processor. It has strict limitations such that it essentially lacks concurrency in executing instructions, which have brought the software bottleneck problem, and the capabilities of call processing are restricted by expanding system's capacity. In this paper, a new architecture of call control processor based on the data flow system is proposed, aiming at fundamental resolution for these limitations. The processor has a number of advantages in such as expansibility of system's capacity, parallel processing of calls, and so on.

  • This paper addresses a call admission control(CAC) scheme giving handoff calls a priority over new calls for OFDMA wireless communication systems. The characteristics of OFDMA system and a variety of user QoS (Quality of Service) requirements are incorporated into the proposed CAC scheme which consists of several optimization modules for the system resource(subcarriers and power) allocations. The mathematical models and its solution methods for the embedded resource allocation problems are proposed. Some extensive computational experiments are conducted to illustrate the superiority of our CAC.

For the improvement on the structural problems of the previous PABX we designed the structure of the IP-PBX System, defined message and data structure for call control, designed call control state transition, and implemented call control message flows for user's communication.
