동물모형 학습을 위한 유아교육 콘텐츠 개발 (A Development of Infant Education Content for Animal Study)

  • 본 논문은 유아에게 동물의 모습과 습성, 울음소리, 특징 및 한글과 영어 등을 학습하게 하기 위하여 다양한 동물이 있는 동물원을 대상으로 시스템을 개발하였다. 유아가 관심 있는 동물의 전면에 인형을 위치하면, 동물의 울음소리, 모습 등을 동물원 모형에 연결되어 있는 디스플레이 장치를 통하여 학습할 수 있다. 동물원은 현재의 동물원의 모양을 축소하여 각 동물 우리에 동물을 인식할 수 있는 센서를 부착한다. 부착된 센서는 각각 고유의 ID를 가지고 있으며, 유아인형이 접근 하게 되면 인식하고 처리기에 고유 ID를 전송하게 된다. 전송된 ID는 데이터베이스에서 전송된 ID값과 일치하는 콘텐츠를 검색하게 되고, 검색된 콘텐츠는 Output 장치를 통하여 출력되게 된다. 또한 인형이 동물우리에 근접하였을 경우 멀티미디어 효과를 통하여 동물의 울음소리 및 기본적인 학습을 할 수 있도록 하였으며, 한글, 영어, 수셈 학습을 동시에 할 수 있도록 구성하였다.

주정의존 환자에서 Sodium Lactate 정주 후에 유발되는 공황 발작의 빈도 및 Clonidine에 의한 성장 호르몬 둔화 반응 (Frequency of Sodium Lactate Induced Panic Attacks and Blunted Growth Hormone Responses After Clonidine Infusions in Alochol Dependence Patients)

  • This study was performed to explore the frequency of panic attack induced by sodium lactate in alcohol dependence patients and to compare the extent of blunted growth hormone reponses after clonidine infusion with that of normal controls. The authors investigated 10 alcohol dependence patients receiving inpatient care in Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital from March 2, 1993 to August 31, 1993 and 10 normal controls. The disagnosis of alcohol dependence was based on DSM-III-R. Thirty minutes after the sodium lactate infusions clonidins were administrated. Venous bloods were sampled before the sodium lactate infusions, and 30, 45, 60, 90 minutes after the administrations of clonidine. Plasma growth hormone levels were measured by RIA method. The results were as follows : 1) In the questionaires of Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, Hamilton Depression Raing Scale, CAGE, Korean MAST, the scores of alcohol dependent patients were higher than those of normal controls. 2) Sixty percent of alcohol dependence patients and twenty percent of normal controls had panic attacks induced by sodium lactate. 3) All panic attacks induced by sodium lactate were relieved after clonidine infusions. 4) There were blunted growth hormone responses after clonidine infusions in alcohol dependence patients who had sodium lactate induced panic attacks like panic disorder patients. These results suggest that alcohol dependence patients may have noradrenergic abnormality same as panic disorder patients and two disorder may have high biological correlations each other.

Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion and in Situ Screw Fixation for Rostral Adjacent Segment Stenosis of the Lumbar Spine

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to describe the detailed surgical technique and short-term clinical and radiological outcomes of lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) and in situ lateral screw fixation using a conventional minimally invasive screw fixation system (MISF) for revision surgery to treat rostral lumbar adjacent segment disease. Methods : The medical and radiological records were retrospectively reviewed. The surgery was indicated in 10 consecutive patients with rostral adjacent segment stenosis and instability. After the insertion of the interbody cage, lateral screws were inserted into the cranial and caudal vertebra using the MISF through the same LLIF trajectory. The radiological and clinical outcomes were assessed preoperatively and at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. Results : The median follow-up period was 13 months (range, 3-48 months). Transient sensory changes in the left anterior thigh occurred in 3 patients, and 1 patient experienced subjective weakness; however, these symptoms normalized within 1 week. Back and leg pain were significantly improved (p<0.05). In the radiological analysis, both the segmental angle at the operated segment and anterior disc height were significantly increased. At 6 months postoperatively, solid bony fusion was confirmed in 7 patients. Subsidence and mechanical failure did not occur in any patients. Conclusion : This study demonstrates that LLIF and in situ lateral screw fixation may be an alternative surgical option for rostral lumbar adjacent segment disease.

  • 총채벌레류의 토착천적인 Orius strigicollis Poppius의 사육에 영향을 주는 부화율, 산란수 및 산란시기, 사육용기 당 암컷 성충의 밀도와 내적자연증가율을 광주기 16L:8D, 상대습도 $55\pm$10%, 온도 $25\pm$$2^{\circ}C$의 사육조건에서 조사하였다. 부화율과 알기간은 각각 88.5%, 5.7일이었다. 사육용기 당 산란수는 50-100개일 때에 우화율이 50.8%로 가장 좋았고, 새로 얻은 성충의 회수시기는 산란 후 17일이 적당하였다. 사육용기 당 암컷 성충의 밀도와 새로 얻은 성충의 수와의 관계는 Y= -10.7971n(X)+44.659($R^2$=0.7619)와 같았다. 사육실에서 대량으로 사육하는 경우 일세대 평균기간(T), 순번식율($R_{0}$ )과 내적자연증가율($r_{m}$ )은 각각 26.5일, 6.18과 0.0687이었다.

Estimate of laying performance of two crossbred Korean native chickens in 20 to 40 weeks

  • This study was conducted to investigate the laying period performance of two crossbred Korean native chicken (KNC) grand parent stock (GPS) layer during 20 to 40 weeks. A total of 351 20-week-old KNC GPS were allocated in a completely randomized design to give 4 birds per each cage. The chickens were fed commercial diets [i.e., week 20 - 32, crude protein (CP) 18.0% and metabolizable energy (ME) 2,850 kcal/kg; week 32 - 40, CP 17.0% and ME 2,800 kcal/kg)] and fresh water during the whole experiment period ad libitum basis. Body weight, age of sexual maturity, egg weight, hen-day egg production (HDP) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were measured during the experiment period (week 20 - 40). The results show no significant difference in the Body weight, age of sexual maturity, egg weight, and hen-day egg production (HDP) except for egg weight. 1B had a higher egg weight on week 36 only. We expect that the reason why most factors showed no significant difference is the lack of nutrients caused by limited feeding which follows the standard feeding system for the grand-parent stock. These results provide basic information for laying data in 2-way crossbred Korean native chickens.

  • 타워크레인은 건설현장의 전체 자재인양 중 약 50%의 물량을 인양하는 양중 장비로 그 수는 빠른 속도로 증가하고 있으나, 건설현장에서의 소홀한 안전관리로 타워크레인 관련 안전사고는 매년 지속적으로 발생되고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 텔레스코핑 작업은 타워크레인 설치단계에서 텔레스코핑 케이지를 유압으로 상승시킨 후 생긴 빈 공간에 새로운 마스트를 삽입하여 요구 높이까지 상승시키는 작업으로 고소에서 다수의 작업자가 동시에 작업을 실시하여 추락 및 낙하의 위험성이 존재하는 등 타 작업에 비해 재해사례 비중이 가장 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 타워크레인 작업 중 특히 위험성이 높은 것으로 조사 및 분석된 텔레스코핑 작업의 안전성 및 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있는 타워크레인 텔레스코핑 자동화기술의 개념모델을 제안하고 이에 대한 안전성 측면에서의 잠재적 성능을 분석함으로써 향후 타워크레인 텔레스코핑 자동화기술 실물 제작을 위한 원천자료를 제공하는 것이다.

Genetic Effects of Polymorphisms in Myogenic Regulatory Factors on Chicken Muscle Fiber Traits

  • The myogenic regulatory factors is a family of transcription factors that play a key role in the development of skeletal muscle fibers, which are the main factors to affect the meat taste and texture. In the present study, we performed candidate gene analysis to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the MyoD, Myf5, MyoG, and Mrf4 genes using polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism in 360 Erlang Mountain Chickens from three different housing systems (cage, pen, and free-range). The general linear model procedure was used to estimate the statistical significance of association between combined genotypes and muscle fiber traits of chickens. Two polymorphisms (g.39928301T>G and g.11579368C>T) were detected in the Mrf4 and MyoD gene, respectively. The diameters of thigh and pectoralis muscle fibers were higher in birds with the combined genotypes of GG-TT and TTCT (p<0.05). Moreover, the interaction between housing system and combined genotypes has no significant effect on the traits of muscle fiber (p>0.05). Our findings suggest that the combined genotypes of TT-CT and GG-TT might be advantageous for muscle fiber traits, and could be the potential genetic markers for breeding program in Erlang Mountain Chickens.

Clathrochelate계 금속 착물을 이용한 고분자 멤브레인 구조 제어 (Study on Morphology Control of Polymeric Membrane with Clathrochelate Metal Complex)

  • 본 연구는 거대고리 금속 이온 착화합물과 유도체를 이용하여 미세 다공성 구조를 가지는 분리막의 제조에 관한 것이다. 고분자와 금속이온 리간드 착물 시스템을 이용함으로써 기존의 방법들에 비해 상 전이 과정을 보다 정교하게 제어할 수 있었다. 금속염, cyclohexanedione dioxime, hydroxyphenylboronic acid와의 축합 반응을 통하여 금속 clathrochelate 착물을 얻을 수 있었다. PES, PVP, BE와 금속 clathrochelate 착물을 DMF에 녹인 후 비용매 유도 상 전이법을 통하여 유무기 혼성고분자막을 제조하였다. 제조된 분리막의 구조는 FE-SEM과 microflow permporometer로 조사하였다. p-Hydroxyphenyl group을 가지는 Fe(II) clathrochelate 착물의 첨가는 분리막의 구조에 있어 기공 크기 분산도를 좁혀주고, 표면의 기공 밀도를 높여 주었으며 최대 기공 크기를 감소시킴을 볼 수 있었다.

An Overview of Kenyan Aquaculture: Current Status, Challenges, and Opportunities for Future Development

  • The Kenyan aquaculture sector is broadly categorized into freshwater aquaculture and mariculture. Whereas freshwater aquaculture has recorded significant progress over the last decade, the mariculture sector has yet to be fully exploited. The Kenyan aquaculture industry has seen slow growth for decades until recently, when the government-funded Economic Stimulus Program increased fish farming nationwide. Thus far, the program has facilitated the alleviation of poverty, spurred regional development, and led to increased commercial thinking among Kenyan fish farmers. Indeed, national aquaculture production grew from 1,000 MT/y in 2000 (equivalent to 1% of national fish production) to 12,000 MT/y, representing 7% of the national harvest, in 2010. The production is projected to hit 20,000 MT/y, representing 10% of total production and valued at USD 22.5 million over the next 5 years. The dominant aquaculture systems in Kenya include earthen and lined ponds, dams, and tanks distributed across the country. The most commonly farmed fish species are Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus, which accounts for about 75% of production, followed by African catfish Clarias gariepinus, which contributes about 21% of aquaculture production. Other species include common carp Cyprinus carpio, rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss, koi carp Cyprinus carpio carpio, and goldfish Carassius auratus. Recently, Kenyan researchers have begun culturing native fish species such as Labeo victorianus and Labeo cylindricus at the National Aquaculture Research Development and Training Centre in Sagana. Apart from limited knowledge of modern aquaculture technology, the Kenyan aquaculture sector still suffers from an inadequate supply of certified quality seed fish and feed, incomprehensive aquaculture policy, and low funding for research. Glaring opportunities in the Kenyan aquaculture industry include the production of live fish food, e.g., Artemia, daphnia and rotifers, marine fish and shellfish larviculture; seaweed farming; cage culture; integrated fish farming; culture of indigenous fish species; and investment in the fish feed industry.

복합고장을 가지는 농형유도전동기의 모델링과 웨이블릿 분해를 이용한 고장진단 (Fault Modeling and Diagnosis using Wavelet Decomposition in Squirrel-Cage Induction Motor Under Mixed Fault Condition)

  • 유도전동기는 산업시스템에 있어서 필수적인 요소이기 때문에 유지 관리, 모니터링 시스템, 고장 진단 등의 다양한 분야에서 많은 연구가 행해지고 있다. 유도전동기의 운전 중 하나의 고장이 발생한 경우 이것은 전동기의 다른 부분에 영향을 미치거나 또 다른 고장을 유발시키는 원인이 된다. 따라서 개별적인 고장뿐만 아니라 결합된 형태의 고장을 검출하고 진단하는 것은 유용한 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 전압불평형 고장과 회전자바 고장이 발생한 경우, 흐리고 두 고장이 동시에 복합적으로 발생한 경우를 모델링하고 이에 대해 고장을 웨이블릿 분해를 이용하여 진단하였다. 제안된 고장 검출 및 진단 알고리즘은 농형유도전동기의 고정자 전류를 이용하였으며 매트랩 시뮬링크를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다.
