  • The study empirically delves into the longitudinal transition of the urban core of Naju City in Korea. For the purpose, the ASA (Angular Segment Analysis) technique of Space Syntax has been adopted to investigate the cadastral maps on the GIS platform for the five chosen years since 1920. In particular, the global integration map as well as box plot statistics have been used to capture the time-series consequences. The findings indicate that the old downtown is no more a monocentric city core and the center of the City has far moved eastward near the new Gwangju-Jeonam Innovation City especially during the period between 2000 and 2020.

  • A precise and dense Bouguer anomaly is one of the most important data to improve the knowledge of our environment in the aspect of geophysics and physical geodesy. Besides the precise absolute gravity station net, we should consider two parts; one is to improve the precision in gravity measurement and correction of it, and the other is the density of measurement both in number and distribution. For the precise positioning, we have tested how we could use the GPS properly in gravity measurement, and deduced that the GPS measurement for 5 minutes would be effective when we used DGPS with two geodetic GPS receivers and the baseline was shorter than 40km. In this case we should use a precise geoid model such as PNU95. By applying this method, we are able to reduce the cost, time, and number of surveyors, furthermore we also get the benefit of improving in quality. Two kind of computer programs were developed to correct crossover errors and to calculate terrain effects more precisely. The repeated measurements on the same stations in gravity surveying are helpful not only to correct the drifts of spring but also to approach the results statistically by applying network adjustment. So we can find out the blunders of various causes easily and also able to estimate the quality of the measurements. The recent developments in computer technology, digital elevation data, and precise positioning also stimulate us to improve the Bouguer anomaly by more precise terrain correction. The gravity data of various sources, such as land gravity data (by Choi, NGI, etc.), marine gravity data (by NORI), Bouguer anomaly map of North Korea, Japanese gravity data, altimetry satellite data, and EGM96 geopotential model, were collected and processed to get a precise and dense Bouguer anomaly in and around the Korean Peninsula.

  • The purpose of this study is increasing ventilation network usability for urban green space planning by enhancing its practicality and detail. A ventilation network feature extraction technique using roughness length($z_0$) was proposed. Continuously surfaced DZoMs generated from $z_0$(cadastral unit) using three interpolations(IDW, Spline, and Kriging) were compared to choose the most suitable interpolation method. Ventilation network features were extracted using the most suitable interpolation technique and studied with land cover and land surface temperature by spatial overlay comparison. Results show Kriging is most suitable for DZoM and feature extraction in comparison with IDW and Spline. Kriging based features are well fit to the land surface temperature(Landsat-7 ETM+) on summer and winter nights. Noteworthy is that the produced ventilation network appears to mitigate urban heat loads at night. The practical use of proposed ventilation network features are highly expected for urban green space planning, though strict validation and enhancement should follow. (1) $z_0$ enhancement, (2) additional ventilation network interpretation and editing, (3) linking disconnected ventilation network features, and (4) associated dataset enhancement with data integrity should technically preceded to enhance the applicability of a ventilation network for green space planning. The study domain will be expanded to the Seoul metropolitan area to apply the proposed ventilation network to green space planning practice.

  • In this study, the uncertainty analysis of present land pollutant load estimation with simplified land category in TMDLs was performed and the enhanced method for land pollutant load estimation with level II land cover consisting of 23 categories was suggested, which was verified by L-THIA model. For land TP load estimation in Jinwi stream basin, the result of comparison between existing method with simplified land category (Scenario 1) and enhanced method with level II land cover (Scenario 2) showed high uncertainty in existing method. TP loads estimated by Scenario 2 for land covers included in the site land category were in the range of 3.45 to 56.69 kg/day, in which TP loads differed by sixteen times as much among them. For application of scenario 2 to TMDLs, Land TP loads were estimated by matching level II land cover to 28 land categories in serial cadastral map (Scenario 3). In order to verify accuracy of TP load estimation by scenario 3, the simulation result of L-THIA was compared with that and the difference between the two was as little as 10%. The result of this study is expected to be used as primary data for accurate estimation of land pollutant load in TMDLs.

  • In this study the tidal area in Seo han bay, North Korea was detected and extracted by using various satellite images (ASTER, KOMPSAT EOC, Landsat TM/ETM+) and GIS spatial analysis. Especially, the micro-landform was classified through the spectral characteristic of each satellite image and the change of tidal flat size was detected on passing year. For this, the spectral characteristics of eight tidal flat area in Korea, which are called as Seo han bay, Gwang ryang bay, Hae iu bay, Gang hwa bay, A san bay, Garorim bay, Jul po bay and Soon chun bay, were analyzed by using multi band of multi spectral satellite images such as Landsat TM/ETM+. Moreover, the micro-landform tidal flat in Seo han bay, North Korea was extracted by using ISODATA clustering based on the result of spectral characteristic. In addition, in order to detect the change of tidal flat size on passing years, the ancient topography map (1918-1920) was constructed as GIS DB. Also, the tidal flat distribution map based on the temporal satellite images were constructed to detect the tidal flat size for recent years. Through this, the efficient band to classify the micro-landform and detect its boundary was clarified and one possibility of KOMPSAT EOC application could be also introduced by extracting the spatial information of tidal flat efficiently.

  • The parcels of land alteration by existing manual work was very inefficient in terms of time and costs. Especially it caused many difficulty in estimating compensation since the work didn't take into account the range of adjoining zone to road. This study selected Gimje City of Jeollabuk-Do as a study site and could analyze the numbers and areas of parcels of land alteration considering the range of adjoining zone to road based on cadastral maps and wide road layers from new address system. Also this study applied a fuzzy membership function according to occupation ratio to road, and analyzed compensation by the range of adjoining zone to road using individual public land price information of the parcels for land alternation. Especially, the change aspect of public and private parcels could be investigated by the range of adjoining zone to road according to the fuzzy membership function. And this study could provide very efficient data in determining the priority of the parcels for land alternation through calculating compensation of the parcels for land alternation by Eup Myeong Dong according to the range of adjoining zone to road.
