Development of Unmanned Speed Sprayer(I) -Remote Control and Induction Cable System- (무인 스피드 스프레이어의 개발(I) -원격제어 및 유도케이블 시스템-)

  • An unmanned speed sprayer was developed using a remote control and an inductive cable guidance systems to protect operators and environment from hazardous pesticides. The sprayer consists of a remote control system, an induction system, obstacle detectors, control actuators and an one-chip microcomputer. The sprayer can be operated by the induction guidance and/or remote control. The following summarize characteristics of the developed speed sprayer. 1) Both the remote control and the induction guidance operation were possible with the developed speed sprayer. 2) Sixteen functions of the forwarding, backing, halting, steering, 3-way valve for nozzles and fan operating etc. were utilized on the remote control system. 3) It was concluded that the DTMF method, having less transmitting error, performed better than the FSK method for an agricultural remote controller. A radio station may be necessary. 4) The digital inductive guidance system, consisting of five low-impedance detection coils and a window comparator circuit, performed better than the analog detecting system, guiding route using inductive voltage differential from tow detection coils.

Analysis on the Effect of Filter to Mitigate Transient Overvoltage on the High Voltage Induction Motor Fed by Multi Level Inverter using EMTP (EMTP를 이용한 멀티레벨 인버터 구동 고압유도전동기에서 발생하는 과도과전압 저감필터의 효과분석)

  • In this paper, filters are designed to reduce transients overvoltage in inverter fed high-voltage large-capacity induction motor drive system. Design issues for a LCR filter at the inverter output terminals to reduce the dv/dt of the inverter output pulse and a RC filter at the induction motor input terminals to match the characteristic impedance between cable and induction motor are examined in detail. These filters are modeled to be suitable to high-voltage large-capacity induction motor. The performance of the filter is evaluated through simulation using EMTP(ElectroMagnetic Transients Program). We presented filters that used high voltage large-capacity induction Motor on the basis of this. Effect of the filter is analyzed for variation of the cable length. Characteristics of filters are analyzed to reduce harmonic in voltage waveform of induction motor input terminal. The switching surge voltage became the major cause to occur the insulation failure by serious voltage stress in the stator winding of induction motor. Filter for to mitigate transients overvoltage presents a required component in drive system of high-voltage large-capacity induction motor. Also, proposed filters are proved through simulation using EMTP.

Study on characteristics of noncontact vibrating displacement sensor (비접촉식 진동 변위센서의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis is about the result of conducting a specific experiment for the development of noncontact vibration displacement sensor for measuring the spindle vibration that is used for conditional monitoring of machinery. One should be careful when using the eddy current type displacement sensor because the sensitivity of it is different according to the quality of the material. While the probe used for nondestructive inspection adopts the effect of transmitting the material by using the high frequency domain, the eddy current type displacement sensor uses the lower frequency of around 1MHz. Also, while the nondestructive probe uses the method of enhancing output by using the resonance zone, the vibration displacement sensor utilizes the stable zone by avoiding the resonance zone. Since the oscillator of the converter uses the "L" element as Probe, its characteristic changes with the variation of a relevant impedance. In other words, if the length of Probe's Cable gets extended (Impedance increase), the sensitivity declines accordingly. The effect of surrounding temperature was small, but the influence of the quality of Sensor Coil used was high. Moreover, following an experimental demonstration of the phenomenon where the sensitivity decreases as the frequency of the tested material increases from a frequency response test, the maximum frequency that could be measured was approximately 1KHz. It was noted that the degree of precision could be maintained by using the gap of the probe in the linear zone at the installation site.

  • In this paper, we proposed a TDC based F/T sensorless active compliance control algorithm for a rehabilitation robot (KARES II). The preference of compliance of the disabled is presented by clinical testing at Korea National Rehabilitation Center with the disabled. The KARES II was designed to work 12 predefined tasks which are very essential for helping the disabled. Among the tasks, some contact tasks between the robot and the disabled exist. Therefore, TDC based F/T sensorless compliance control algorithm is developed for these tasks without additional cost. We verified the proposed algorithm with experiment. Also for the practical use, suitable compliance for contact tasks is chosen by clinical testing at Korea National Rehabilitation Center.

  • 본 논문에서는 현수교에 대하여 지반-구조물 상호작용을 고려한 해석을 수행하였다. 교량의 앵커리지와 기초를 부분구조법(Structure method)을 이용한 지반-구조물 상호작용(Soil-Structure Interaction) 해석프로그램 SASSI를 이용하여 구조물 저면에서의 지반 임피던스(Impedance)를 계산하고 이로부터 앵커리지 및 기초와 지반에 대응하는 강성, 질량, 그리고 감쇠를 가지는 집중 파라메터 모델을 구하였다. 그리고 현수교 유한요소 모델에 앵커리지 및 기초와 지반에 대한 집중 파라메터 모델을 연계하여 전체 교량에 대한 지반-구조물 시스템을 구성하고 시간영역에서의 지반 운동에 대한 동적해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과를 지반-구조물 상호작용을 고려하지 않은 경우와 고려한 경우를 비교하였고 파동전달효과를 고려한 경우와 고려하지 않은 경우를 비교함으로써 지반-구조물 상호작용의 영향을 살펴보았다.

Shielding Effectiveness of Mesh Screen Filter of Plasma Display Panel

  • A shielding effectiveness of mesh screen filter of plasma display panel (PDP) has been calculated in this paper. Since the screen filter is located near the radiation source, the near field wave impedance of the radiation source, i.e., the PDP electrodes, has been considered to calculate the shielding effectiveness. The near field shielding effectiveness of screen filter at 30${\sim}$300 MHz has been estimated to be more than 65${\sim}$80 dB. The measured shielding effectiveness of screen filter is 10${\sim}$50 dB at 30${\sim}$300 MHz[1]. The resulting discrepancy indicates that there are other EMI emission sources such as emission from PCB and cable besides the PDP electrodes.

  • In this paper PTW(Power Tools for Windows) application method for analysis the industrial distribution system is proposed. T&D(Transmission and Distribution) and BICC methods is applied for the cable impedance and the X/R of transformer data is estimated by IEEE standard. The effectiveness of this method was improved by the electrical characteristics analysis of the real industrial distribution system.

  • Analysis of the electromagnetic environment on topside of a ship is needed for optimal arrangement of all kinds of antennas to be installed on the shipboard in order to minimize the probability of EMI of equipment and subsystems in real ship after construction phase. In this paper we analyze the characteristics of electric-fields such as radiation patterns and near E-fields of V/UHF antennas installed on a shipboard. We compare simulated results with measurements on the real ship for near E-fields to verify the reliability of the computed electromagnetic environment. Although there are various factors causing errors such as cable loss and impedance mismatching etc. when measuring near E-field, both data show similar trends in the range of the acceptable tolerance.

  • Uniform current distribution among conductor layers in HTS cables using IPTs (inter-phase transformers) was investigated. Conventional methods for current distribution, in which resistors are inserted to conductor layers, causes additional loss. In contrast, IPTs, which use magnetic coupling, make it possible that the current in parallel circuits is distributed uniformly with any load, and minimize the loss. In this study, IPTs were designed and fabricated for examination of uniform current distribution in the conductor layers of HTS cables. The ITP was designed through calculation of its impedance that can cancel the inductance of the conduction layers. The experimental setup consisted of four IPTs and four inductors that simulate the conductor layer inductance. Each layer was designed to feed 10 A. We examined the behavior of current distribution with IPTs for various layer inductances.

  • Sheath circulating current is increased as the change of sheath mutual impedance which is caused by imbalance of cable system, and different section length between joint box. If excessive current flows in sheath. sheath loss will be increased and then transmission capacity of underground transmission system is reduced. Accordingly, This paper proposed sheath current reduction device using resistor and reactor and proved the reduction effect of that device using EMTP/ATP. And also in this paper, when transients are occurred at the underground system with reduction device by ground fault and lightning surge. we analyzes transient effect of system variously. From this result. authors establish the protection methods of sheath circulating current reduction device.
