Electrochemical Assay of Neurotransmitter Glycine in Brain Cells

  • Neurotransmitter glycine in the nano gram range was analyzed using a paste electrode (PE) in cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square-wave stripping voltammetry (SWSV). An anodic peak caused by oxidation of the glycine ion appeared at the 0.4 V (versus Ag/AgCl/KCl) potential in a 0.1 M NH4H2PO4 electrolyte solution. At optimized conditions, the working range of the SWSV and CV concentration was found to be 5-60 ngL-1 glycine; precision of R2 = 0.9816 (SWSV) and 0.9986 (CV); and detection limit of 0.65 ngL-1 (5.82 × 10-12 molL-1) (S/N = 3). The optimized conditions were applied to an assay in a fish brain tissue and a living brain cell in real time.

새로운 채소류의 고구마뿌리혹선충과 땅콩뿌리혹선충에 대한 저항성 (Resistance of Newly Introduced Vegetables to Meloidogyne arenaria and M. incognita in Korea)

  • 새로운 채소류를 뿌리혹선충이 감염된 시설재배지에 윤작작물로 추천하기 위하여 7과 13속, 25종, 총 39품종을 고구마뿌리혹선충과 땅콩뿌리혹선충을 대상으로 저항성을 검정하였다. 2종류의 뿌리혹선충에 모두 감수성인 것은 비름과(Amaranthaceae)의 아마란서스와 근대, 낙규과(Basellaceae)의 바우세, 피나무과(Tiliaceae)의 모로헤이야, 메꽃과(Convolvulaceae)의 공심채, 십자화의 청경채, 홍채태(Brassica campestris var. chinensis), 다채(B. campestris var. narinosa), '다청채'(B. campestris var. chinensis x narinosa), 갓, 곱슬겨자(B. juncea), 교나(B. juncea var. laciniate), 채심(B. rapa subsp. arachinenesis), 가이란(B. oleracea var. alboglabra), 로케트샐러드(Eruca sativa), 국화과(Asteraceae)의 쑥갓(Chrysanthemum coronarium), 엔다이브(Cichorium endivia), 아티쵸크(Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus), 상추(Lactuca sativa)였다. M. incognita에는 저항성이나 M. arenaria에는 감수성인 것은 십자화과의 케일(B. oleracea) cv. 맛짱, 콜라비(B. oleracea var. gongyloides) cv. 적콜라비, 치커리(C. intybus) cv. 적치커리였다. 두 종류의 뿌리혹선충에 모두 저항성인 것은 치커리(C. intybus) cv. 슈가로프, 구루모, 통콘네로네(radichio treviso), 십자화과의 케일(B. oleracea) cv. 만추콜라드, 슈퍼맛짱 브로콜리(B. oleracea italica), 잎브로콜리(B. oleracea var. botrytis italiana), 꿀풀과(Lamiaceae)의 차즈기, 들깨였다. 2종류의 뿌리혹선충에 모두 저항성인 채소류는 뿌리혹선충이 감염된 시설재배지에서 부가가치가 높은 저항성 윤작작물로 사용이 가능할 것이다.

CO2농도와 온도 상승이 한국의 주요 재배 벼품종의 생육과 생산량에 미치는 영향 -오대벼와 새추청벼- (Effects of elevated CO2 concentration and increased temperature on the growth and crop yield of rice (Oryza sativa) cultivars in Korea -cv. Odaebyeo and cv. Saechucheongbyeo-)

  • 온난화가 진행되면, 우리나라에서 재배되고 있는 주요 벼의 생육과 생산량이 어떻게 변화되는지를 알아보기 위해, 북부지방과 중부지방에 각각 가장 많이 재배되는 오대벼와 새추청벼의 유식물을 각각 대조구, 온도 상승구 및 $CO_2$+온도 상승구에서 재배하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. 새추청벼의 지상부생물량, 지하부생물량, 총 생물량, 개체당 이삭무게 그리고 낟알의 숙성 비율은 온도 상승구에서, 오대벼는 $CO_2$+온도 상승구에서 가장 높았다. 새추청벼와 오대벼의 개체당 이삭수는 환경구배 간 차이가 없었다. 새추청벼의 이삭당 낟알수는 환경구배 간 차이가 없었고, 오대벼의 것은 $CO_2$+온도 상승구에서 가장 많았다. 새추청벼의 낟알 한 개의 무게는 $CO_2$+온도 상승구, 오대벼의 것은 온도 상승구와 $CO_2$+온도 상승구에서 가장 무거웠다. 새추청벼의 분얼수는 대조구와 온도 상승구, 오대벼의 것은 대조구에서 가장 많았다. 본 연구를 종합적으로 정리해보면 새추청벼는 대조구보다 온도만 상승했을 때 잘 자랐고 곡물 생산량이 증가했지만 $CO_2$ 농도와 온도가 같이 상승했을 때는 차이가 없었다. 그리고 오대벼는 대조구보다 $CO_2$ 농도와 온도가 같이 상승했을 때 잘 자랐고 생산량이 증가했다. 앞으로 지구온난화의 영향으로 $CO_2$ 농도와 온도가 높아진다면, 새추청벼는 현재와 곡물수확량의 차이는 없겠지만 그에 반해 오대벼는 곡물수확량은 높아질 것이다. 따라서 지구온난화로 인한 기후변화가 지속된다면 곡물수확량을 고려한 종에 따른 벼 재배적지의 선정이 신중히 결정되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

목질계 활성탄에 의한 수중의 Methylene blue와 Crystal violet의 제거 특성 (Removal Characteristics of Crystal Violet and Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solution using Wood-based Activated Carbon)

  • The adsorption ability of wood-based activated carbon to adsorb methylene blue (MB) and crystal violet (CV) from aqueous solution has been investigated. Adsorption studies were carried out on the batch experiment at different initial MB and CV concentrations (MB=150 mg/L~400 mg/L, CV=50 mg/L~350 mg/L), contact time, and temperature. The results showed that the MB and CV adsorption process followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic and intraparticle diffusion was the rate-limiting step. Adsorption equilibrium data of the adsorption process fitted very well to both Langmuir and Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity ($q_m$) by Langmuir constant was 416.7 mg/g for MB and 462.4 mg/g for CV. The thermodynamic parameters such as ${\Delta}H^{\circ}$, ${\Delta}S^{\circ}$ and ${\Delta}G^{\circ}$ were evaluated. The MB and CV adsorption process was found to be endothermic for the two dyes.

도파민 발현 세포주 CV(bDAT) 세포에서 항정신병 약물이 도파민 수송체 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Antipsychotic Drugs on Dopamine Transporter Function in CV(bDAT) Cells)

  • CV(bDAT) cell line, expressing dopamine transporter stably, has been established by transfection of CV-1 cells with bovine dopamine transporter cDNA. Using CV(bDAT) cells, the effects of various antipsychotic drugs on dopamine uptake activity were investigated. All of antipsychotic drugs tested, inhibited the [$^3H$]dopamine uptake into CV(bDAT) cells with $IC_{50}s$ in the low to mid micromolar range, implying that antipsychotic drugs may produce overflow of dopamine in the synaptic cleft of dopaminergic neuron.

  • This study was designed to investigate acupunture and moxibustion for uterine bleeding through literature research. We extracted the parts about acupunture, moxibustion and both of acupunture and moxibustion for uterine bleeding from ancient and modern oriental medical literature. The results were summerized as follows; 1. The acupoints used on acupunture only were 58 acupoints. The acupoints used often were SP6, LR3, SP10, CV3, CV6 in order and the meridians used often were SP, CV, LV, KI in order. 2. The acupoints used on moxibustion only were 38 acupoints. The acupoints used often were SP10, SP1, SP6, CV4, CV6 in order and the meridians used often were SP, CV, KI, GV in order. 3. The acupoints used on both of acupunture and moxibustion were 22 acupoints. The acupoints used often were SP6, LR3, SP10, KI10 in order and the meridians used often were LV, SP, KI in order.

Cefatrizine과 clavulanic acid 병합제의 in vitro 및 in vivo 항균력 (Comparative in vitro and in vivo Antibacterial Activities of Cefatrizine/clavulanic Acid Combination and Other $\beta$-lactam Antibiotics)

  • The resistant strains due to the extended-spectrum $\beta$-lactamase (ESBL) were susceptible to cefatrizine combined with clavulanic acid. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activities of cefatrizine/clavulanic acid (CTRZ/CV) combination at a ratio of 2 : 1 in comparison with cefaclor (CCLO), cefuroxime (CRXM), cefuroxime axetil (CRXMA) and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (AMXCCV). CTRZ/CV showed good activity against laboratory strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and exhibited excellent antibacterial activity against $\beta$-lactamase-producing strains. The bactericidal activity of CTRZ/CV was superior to that of CCLO and CRXM, and almost equal to that of AMXCCV against the $\beta$-lactamase-producing strains. The in vitro results were substantiated. by in vivo mouse experimental infection studies with $\beta$-lactamase-producing and non-producing strains. In mixed experimental infection due to $\beta$-lactamase-producing and non-producing strains, the therapeutic efficacy of CTRZ/CV was superior to that of CTRZ, CCLO, CRXMA and AMXCCV. In respiratory tract infection in mice due to Klebsiella pneumoniae EB4O, CTRZ/CV was more erective than CCLO, CRXMA and AMXCCV and also more efficacious than CCLO, CRXMA and AMXCCV in urinary tract infection in mice due to Escherichia coli EB13. These results indicate that CTRZ/CV is a useful drug for the treatment of infection caused by $\beta$-1actamase-producing strains including ESBL-producing strains.

계장용 볼 밸브 유량계수 Cv 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Measurement of the Flow Coefficient Cv of a Ball Valve for Instrumentation)

  • The results of the measurement of the flow-rate coefficient (Cv-value) and the analysis of a small ball valve are summarized follows. The Cv-values of 1/2-, 3/4- and 1-inch ball valves were measured using a flow-rate measurement test. The manufacturer obtained the Cv-value using a theoretical calculation method. The new experimental measurement and analysis method yielded more reliable results. In addition, the Cv value obtained through numerical analysis was almost identical the value provided by the manufacturer, which was based on experimental results. A Study on Flow Analysis results are all similar appearances as the reliability of the results.

UV 조사와 Alkoxy 가수분해 법을 이용한 구형 실리콘 마이크로 고분자 비드의 합성 (Synthesis of Microspheric Silicone Polymer Beads by UV Irradiation and Alkoxy Hydrolysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 UV 조사와 alkoxy 가수분해 법을 이용하여 구형 마이크로 실리콘 고분자 비드를 합성하였다. 구형 실리콘 고분자 비드의 입자들의 coefficient of variation(CV)은 UV 조사량의 세기와 조사시간, 반응온도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 합성된 비드의 평균 입경, 굴절률, pH는 각각 $4.1{\mu}m$, 1.43, 7.5이었으며 진비중, 겉보기 비중은 1.30, 0.40이었으며, 수분함량은 2%이하였다. Hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) 농도가 0.1 wt%일 때 입자크기와 CV는 가장 작았고, 진원도는 $0.95{\sim}0.98{\mu}m$이었다. UV 조사량과 조사시간이 450 W, 90 min일 때 CV는 4.92%이었다. Methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS)의 농도가 20 wt%일 때 수율은 총 충전량 대비 11.3%까지 증가하였으며 입자의 평균직경은 교반속도와 온도가 증가함에 따라 작아졌다.

애구(艾灸)가 고혈압(高血壓) 환자(患者)의 혈압강하(血壓降下)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effects of Decreasement of Blood Pressure on Hypertension Patients by Moxibustion)

  • Objective : In order to study effects of decreasement of blood pressure on hypertension patients by moxibustion a clinical study was performed. Methods : Moxibustion at Quchi(LI11), Guanyan(CV4) 10 times on 25 hyper tension patients who were treated via opd on Dong-Eui Oriental Medical Hospital. Results : 1. After 10 times moxibustion at Quchi(LI11), Guanyan(CV4),the systolic blood pressure were decreased 16.5% degree. 2. After 10 times moxibustion at Quchi(LI11), Guanyan(CV4),the diastolic blood pressure were decresed 26.6% degree. 3. Subjective symptoms(i.e. headache, dizziness, heat in the upper part of the body, dyspnea etc) were decresed after 10 times moxibustion at Quchi(LI11), Guanyan(CV4). Conclusion : Continous Moxibustion at Quchi(LI11), Guanyan(CV4) implies decreasement of blood pressure and improvement of subjective symptoms.
