The Effects Social Entrepreneurship and CSR Activities on Performance of Social Enterprise (사회적 기업가정신이 CSR 활동과 사회적 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing social performance of social entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) activities. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, and CSR activities. Social entrepreneurship have been classified as innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking, and social value orientation. And CSR activities have been classified as community responsibility, philanthropic responsibility, and environmental responsibility. The proposed model is analyzed to target social entrepreneurs. Valid 115 questionnaires have been collected within three months of 2013. Smart Partial Least Square(PLS) 2.0 have been utilized for deriving the study results. The result of hypothesis testing are as follows. First, social entrepreneurship positively influence community responsibility, philanthropic responsibility, and environmental responsibility. Second, community responsibility, philanthropic responsibility, and environmental responsibility positively influence social performance in social enterprise. The results of this study will provide various implications to improve social performance and social entrepreneurship in social enterprise.

This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to social enterprise, entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation, and CSR activities. Entrepreneurial orientation have been classified as innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking.   • Since the 1990s, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues have been attracting more and more attention from companies and researchers alike. The purchasing behavior of consumers is directly related to not only a company's financial performance, but also the future development of the company. Much of the previous research regarding CSR has mainly focused on the perspectives of enterprises. This paper aims to study the impact of CSR on purchase intention in three aspects - consumer, company and country. We decided to use Samsung to describe the impact of CSR on consumer purchase intentions in China. The results of this study revealed that CSR has a positive impact on the consumer-company identification, corporate reputation and country of origin image. Consumer-company identification turned out to be amore important moderator between CSR and consumers' purchase intentions than country of origin image and corporate reputation.

The Effects Long-Term Orientation and CSR Activities on Business Performance in Social Enterprise (장기지향성이 CSR활동과 사회적 기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증연구)

  • The purpose of this study is examine the factors influencing performance of long-term orientation and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) activities. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to social enterprise, CSR activities and long-term orientation. The proposed model is analyzed to target 115 social entrepreneurs with Smart Partial Least Square(PLS) 2.0. The result of hypothesis testing are as follows. First, long-term orientation positively influence community responsibility, environmental responsibility, and product(service) responsibility. Second, community responsibility positively influence financial and non-financial performance. Third, environmental responsibility positively influence non-financial performance, but does not significantly influence financial performance. Finally, product(service) responsibility does not significantly influence financial and non-financial performance. The results of this study will provide various implications to improve performance, long-term orientation, and CSR activities in social enterprise.

The Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility on Company Image and Customer Citizenship Behavior: Focused on Japanese Students (기업의 사회적 책임이 기업이미지 및 고객시민행동에 미치는 영향: 일본 대학생 대상으로)

  • The purpose of this study examines the effects of corporate CSR on corporate image, customer satisfaction, and customer citizenship behavior in order to provide implications for CSR. To verify hypotheses, we conducted a questionnaire survey on university students using Apple, Sony, Sharp, and Kyocera mobile phones, and used structural equation model analysis for 294 units. As a result, four factors, economic responsibility, legal responsibility, ethical responsibility and philanthropic responsibility were derived from corporate social responsibility, and all three factors except for ethical responsibility factors were proved to have a positive effect on corporate image. In addition, corporate image has a positive effect on customer satisfaction and customer civic behavior. As an implication, Japanese companies will need to take a systematic approach to CSR to help them understand their CSR and improve the level of CSR they can sympathize with.

  • This study is primarily aimed at conducting conceptual research that reinforces corporate social responsibility and gives direction to how local firms' CSRs should evolve in line with global CSR core values. To this end, a comprehensive approach was made to the Korean CSR system or standards in terms of research methods, and the direction of development was derived by comparing them with global standards. While the social responsibility activities of Korean companies are still focused on social contribution, CSR activities of global companies take social responsibility not only in various business areas but also in the circumstance surrounding companies, labor, environment and others. In particular, they are conducting stable CSR activities within the value chain of companies. Moreover, the CSR function is required in both the original and the primary sub-contractors and the secondary sub-contractors. This can confirm that the CSR activities of companies contribute to the development of society as they attract better working conditions and a better living environment based on the CSR. Therefore, the CSR direction presented by the study is meaningful and worthwhile in that it can contribute not only to Korean companies' global advancement but also to transform our society into a better society.

A Study on Activation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Small and Medium-sized Businesses Focused on Japanese Case (중소기업 CSR 활성화 방안 : 일본 사례를 중심으로)

  • Recently, the perception of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has changed. Until now, corporate social responsibility has been recognized as a temporary means to improve the image of a company, but there is a growing recognition that it is a prerequisite for sustainable growth of the entity. Social responsibility of enterprises has altered according to the times and economic environment, and as the global value chain has become important, it has become a growth strategy for small and medium-sized exporters. Under these circumstances, CSR is increasingly an integral part of the activities of companies, and this is no exception for small and medium-sized enterprises. Nevertheless, Korean small businesses' CSR is still lacking, and so the case of Japan, where CSR has spread to small and medium-sized businesses despite the short period of time, is believed to give us policy implications. In the Japanese case, corporate social responsibility has been traditionally passed down by Omi merchants in the 17th century. The social responsibility of a company they thought was summed up by the so-called "sanspo-yoshi spirit" that is beneficial to sellers, benefits to buyers and helps society. Based on the case of Japan's CSR, which has been applied smoothly even to its small and medium-sized companies, this paper intends to suggest the following policy implications. First, the establishment and dissemination of a national long-term plan is necessary. Second, it is urgent for smaller businesses to introduce their strategic CSRs. Third, CSR, which does mutual cooperation between large and small businesses, should be pursued.

  • It is expected reasonably that firms are likely to be motivated to engage in cooperate social responsibility(CSR) more effectively and efficiently in order for sustainable growth when partnerships on supply chain are willing to embrace the initiative for CSR actively rather than a firm's effort. Given that this is a SCM(Supply Chain Management) approach to CSR, the SC-CSR(Cooperate Social Responsibility in Supply Chain), which encourage all partners on supply chain to apply it, can provide larger social impact. This study is to verify the effect of SC-SCR on the willingness to initiate CSR in small and medium-sized enterprises. As a result of empirical analysis, the application of SC-SCR has positive effect on the willingness of small and medium-sized enterprises to initiate social responsibility by promoting the situational needs. This results indicates that helping firms observe ISO 26000, the recognized international standard for CSR, the motivation for SCR can be reinforced by making partners on supply chain respect CSR.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the logical bases and the real situation of the CSR(corporate social responsibility) execution in the context of local governance. Basically, some management necessities to establish a strategic relationship between a firm and its regional community, is the main reason of CSR execution in the region or in general. Although some costs in forms of money or manpower or resources, should be paid to execute the CSR in a short term, there are so many advantages resulting from it in terms of long time periods. Corporate social responsibility seeks to induce a sustainable harmony or interdependent relationship between the firm and its regional community. In case of POSCO Gwangyang works, so much various forms of community contributions are promoted as a part of CSR executions from the passive reaction for civil petitions to the good corporate citizenship activities. In spite of such an active CSR execution in Gwangyang works, there seems to be required that another way within the works should be explored in order to make it much more effective. Optimal distribution of various resources which are called out for the CSR, is one of the key factors that can affect the strategic result of CSR.

  • This study examined the effects of CSR characteristics on company image, CSV, customer satisfaction, customer citizenship behavior for customers using mobile phones of Samsung, LG, Apple, and Pantech in domestic market. 213 questionnaire samples are used to test 10 hypotheses using structural equation model with AMOS. Results of testing are as follows: First, economic responsibilities, law-ethical responsibilities and philanthropic responsibilities factors of CSR influence positively to company image. Second, economic responsibilities does not influence to CSV. Third, company image influence positively to customer satisfaction and customer citizenship behavior, but CSV does not influence to customer satisfaction This study shows that CSR, company image, CSV are important for customers' increasing customer satisfaction and customer citizenship behavior. Implications and limitations of this study also suggested.
